Cute little cafe with a cozy atmosphere. Great food choices I ordered a chicken salad on marble rye, and my favorite ordered breakfast. The chicken salad was creamy and seasoned to perfection, and the marble rye was fresh and delicious I have never had Parmesan french fries before, but I am a new fan now! I can’t wait to return and try some dessert There was a variety of different delectable choices for desserts. I highly recommend the Hummingbird Café.

I got breakfast here with family. The food was great. We tried the cupcakes and they were so good, the icing is different than most cupcakes in a good way. I don’t have any pictures but the food looked very well put together. The only issues I have with this place is 1. the prices are a little high. Someone else payed for my order, if I paid I wouldn’t be as inclined to return. The biggest thing that was very odd to me is that I ordered a soda I watched them pour from a small 16 oz soda bottle into a cup, and then didn’t even give me the whole bottle, putting the rest in the fridge. They should either invest in a soda fountain so we can have free refills or at least just give me the whole bottle? It just felt cheap and dumb, especially to do it right in front of me and not even give me the whole bottle when I paid $3-4 for an unrefillable drink. I think if that could be fixed I would definitely come here more often. Other than that, the food was great and it was a cute place.

The Hummingbird Cafe is an awesome little gem in the Cumberland Regional Airport. Family owned and operated. The owner Kim and her staff are amazing. Very friendly and attentive. They treat you like family. Both my gf and I ordered the Gold digger w/fries. Very very yummy. It is easily 1 of the best chicken sandwiches I have had. The fries are fresh cut and cooked perfectly. Stop by and check them out. You won't be disappointed. I'll definitely be back when in town.

Great hidden Gem for the area. Little bit more expensive than I expected. Only one waitress working when we showed up so a bit of a wait. Good food though and our waitress was super nice.

Food: My recent visit to The Humming Bird left me thoroughly impressed. Opting for the classic burger and fries, I found myself pleasantly surprised by the quality of the meal. The burger exceeded my expectations with its fresh-cooked meat and perfectly toasted bun. The attention to detail was evident in every bite, from the thinly sliced pickles to the flavorful, freshly cut fries. It's rare to find such care put into every aspect of a meal, and I left feeling satisfied and eager to return. For those seeking the best dining experience in the Cumberland area, look no further than The Humming Bird, even if it means crossing the river into Wiley Ford, WV. Service: The service at The Humming Bird was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly greeted, and the attentive wait staff wasted no time in informing us of the specials. Throughout the meal, they checked on us regularly, ensuring that our needs were met and our drinks were promptly refilled. The efficiency and friendliness of the staff only added to the overall dining experience, making us feel welcome and valued as patrons. Atmosphere: What sets The Humming Bird apart is its unique location at the airport, providing diners with a one-of-a-kind dining experience. As we enjoyed our meal, we were treated to the sight of gliders soaring overhead and the occasional medivac helicopter taking off—a constant reminder of the bustling activity outside. The atmosphere was lively and exciting, offering a perfect blend of great food and captivating views. Whether you're an aviation enthusiast or simply looking for a memorable dining experience, The Humming Bird delivers on all fronts. Overall, The Humming Bird is more than just a restaurant—it's an experience. With its exceptional food, top-notch service, and unbeatable atmosphere, it's a must-visit for anyone in the area. Don't miss out on the opportunity to dine at this hidden gem; you won't be disappointed.

Yelp
I visit Hummingbird sporadically for their specials, I love that they update their Facebook frequently and generally it's a good experience. 2 stars this time for the less than stellar salmon bagel special, I was pretty disappointed. Will still be back-- just hoping it's as good as it usually is next time!

Liam T.

Yelp
They ran a salmon bagel special and were actually serving SPOILED salmon to their customers! When pointed out, the owner was extremely rude, argumentative, and unprofessional. She is literally forcing customers to pay for spoiled food.

Yelp
Came here for Thanksgiving lunch and as a first timer - a bigger sign on the building or on the window would help. Had it not been for allied vehicles parked in front - I may have missed it being in the building. I would say they could use some updating but as a small business it's obvious they are letting their food do the talking. Ordered the turkey thanksgiving meal - which came with turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing, and white corn. I was afraid the corn might be the emaciated kernel from a can like you used to get in school lunch - but this corn looked fresh. The turkey was 2 large slices, mashed potatoes were the kind that heavy seasoning and aren't usually lured with gravy, and the stuffing was very good and crispy on the edges. However - the turkey and gravy were cold. Unfortunate. For dessert they had a large selection and their namesake has its own cake - which I was told was banana cake....... ***if I saw banana cake what color do you think it would be???*** Me too - it was banana BREAD made into a layer cake. Which is fine. And it was good - but the description was wrong and had it been told right I probably would have gotten something else. Overall- meal was good, just cold.

Yelp
Food is always good! Staff are friendly and accommodating! Best pancakes I have ever had. Wonderful desserts and bake goods.

Yelp
Road trip stop: We had fresh and tasty food. The hummingbird cake sounded amazing but we were too stuffed from the generous portions to order it. Service was friendly, courteous, and kind. Diner-like feel, which we loved. Many customers came in a few minutes after we arrived and people were friendly.

Yelp
Club sandwich was very good Sweet Potato fries were so good Service was on point worth the drive to find this place!

Sarah M.

Yelp
We came here on Easter and they had a special brunch menu. I had the avocado toast and my partner had the coconut waffles. Definitely will come back on our next trip to the area!

Yelp
Usually, the food and service here are great. Today, I went for lunch with my two coworkers and ordered a grilled chicken sandwich with chips and pickle. The sandwich was terrible from the first bite. The chicken was chewy and tough. When I mentioned it to the waitress, she rudly walked away without comment. When she returned, she told me she was only taking half off the bill because I ate half of the sandwich and she wasn't nice about it. In short I didn't tip her because of the way she treated me. Even when I got in line to pay the bill, she joked and told three women in front of me to have a great day. When it was my turn, she was not very friendly but took my money. They won't get anymore from me because I'm not going back. I would love to share her name but I don't have it but I'm told she is the new manager from the other location.

Yelp
Fast friendly service. Breakfast served all day. I however got the bacon and blue burger. Delicious boardwalk fries. It's been years since I've been here last. Won't be that long again.

Yelp
Great little place for breakfast! We stumbled upon this little charm last Sunday while in the area. It's directly on a small airport so you might think you were misdirected at first but sure enough there's a cute little restaurant there. If you were a pilot you could just fly in for breakfast or lunch! Great staff, good food (think country kitchen, although i tried the sloppy joe and there were enough fries to feed an army) and reasonably priced. You might even get to see a plane land or take off.

Jessica B.

Yelp
Best place in town, family owned and operated, their food is amazing, always creating something new and unique and such a fun atmosphere. And you can watch the planes come in. They also cater, have a bakery and a floral shop! I don't know how they do it all but they do and I love that it's so close to home

Ronda S.

Yelp
Delicious breakfast of French toast, bacon and fresh fruit. A dollop of cinnamon syrup on the toast made it non-sweet but maple syrup an option. Bread was marbled, fruit fresh and bite sized and the bacon non greasy and perhaps baked? Best breakfast!

Yelp
Excellent breakfast special!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Don't let the appearance or location fool you.

Yelp
Great cafe in the old airport building. The staff are super-nice and we split a Turkey croissant with avocado and pickled red onions and also a loaded plate of nachos with 2 cheeses and pulled pork. They even have Beesting cake made from the old Warner's recipe! Going to get a cake there next holiday!
google avatar

Jessica P.

Yelp
This is our favorite breakfast place to pick up breakfast to go or eat in. They also make amazing desserts! Best atmosphere of any restaurant around with a view of the airport.

Mina M.

Yelp
We frequent here because all of their food is amazing. From breakfast to dinner and the homemade desserts, we've never had a bad meal. Some of our favorites are the chipped beef gravy, chef salad, and house salad with crispy buffalo chicken (it's more of a sweet hot than buffalo. Its SO good.) They have the BEST ranch in the tristate area and there are no words for the scalloped potatoes except must.have! You will not be disappointed!! Olivia's cheesecakes are always a hit too! So good that we had them for our wedding.

Yelp
Good news! After several failures, a new restaurant has open on the field at Cumberland Airport (KCBE). Taxied right up to the restaurant. Decent menu for an airport cafe. Nice folks. Finally a place for the $100 hamburger! ($7 for great warm maple bacon, lettuce, and tomato, and a drink)
google avatar

Becky B.

Yelp
This place is fantastic. We flew into KCBE for take out. The club sandwich and blue cheese burger were fantastic, cream of crab soup was super crabby The deserts including hummingbird cake were to die for. Absolutely come here and have delicious food. We will be back. This place was so good. Great prices, great service.

Yelp
A little over one year ago we flew into the Cumberland Airport and stopped for lunch at the Hummingbird Cafe. My husband had ordered a cheeseburger that I took a bite of and we declared it to be one of the Best cheeseburgers we ever ate. We also recalled the excellent and friendly service. From then on I longed to return and today we finally did and we both ordered their cheeseburger with cheddar cheese, lettuce and tomato. We were not disappointed!! It was a large beautiful burger on a toasted bun with a little mayo added. Perfect! The kettle chips and order of cole slaw were also very good. The service was great and we were told that a number of items are homemade. It took willpower to resist taking home some of the pretty lemon cheesecake topped with blueberries. Hope to return soon!

Yelp
Great food, friendly service and a hidden gem! I ordered the chicken sandwich which was a full chicken breast topped with two thick slices of tomato and lettuce on a buttered tasty roll, came with kettle chips. My hubby ordered a cheese burger and fresh cut fries. The burger was excellent and the fries were perfection! Glad we took the time to veer off the beaten path!

Yelp
Very average food with good service. DO NOT GET THE TACO SALAD EVER. I'm not sure if they know what a Taco Salad is but what they served me looked like a Cobb Salad with un-seasoned ground beef, a few nachos, jalapeños, salsa, shredded cheese, and sour cream. The ground beef was quite nasty. The waitress was kind enough to remove it from the check. Most of the other items are pretty good though.

Yelp
I am only disappointed because the waitress would not come over to our table. She went to two other tables that came in after us and engaged with them. The weird thing was she did come over to our table twice literally look at since it had not been cleared yet from the previous people and walk away not saying anything. This place had great reviews and we were driving through from a college visit trip. I ended up leaving very bewildered. We did sit and wait for 15 minutes before leaving. I have never put a review on Yelp before. But this had me so upset. I have waitressed and this is why my prescription is this was intentional but I could not tell you.

Yelp
Had lunch with friends at the Hummingbird Cafe yesterday. I had gone a couple of years ago right after they were opened and it was good. Nothing has changed, Hummingbird offers great food at very fair prices. The staff is friendly and offers good service. I had the BLT, lots of bacon, nice fresh lettuce and tomato with a creamy mayonnaise. Just got the chips which were excellent. Hard to find good chips at a restaurant but they were good and there were a lot of them. I watched as several other tables were served and everything looked great. I can promise you that you will not leave hungry.

Yelp
We love this place! Kim does an outstanding job with the food. While the menu may be limited for some, I prefer a smaller one with perfectly executed options. She has achieved just that! Her dishes are made with good quality ingredients, and somehow she keeps the prices low. The cream of crab soup is outstanding with big chunks of blue crab. Thankfully, it makes it's run as "soup of the day" often. I wish she'd put it on the menu, and try other brothy soup options daily. Maybe, I'm being selfish, so I could have it any day. Ha! Thankfully you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. The service has always been friendly, helpful, and super accommodating especially with our two year old. They always make you feel welcomed, even at their busiest. This place is so good that we even order take out sometime. I highly recommend checking it out!

Yelp
The waitress basically called my husband a liar when she did not bring the bacon he ordered telling him he did not order it which I heard him do. He ask her for the bacon he ordered she replied you did not order any and he said yes I did and the waitress again replied no you did not. I called to speak to the owner and she hung up so she thought and I heard in the background them laughing thinking it was funny that they hung up on him. So I called back and found it was the owner Kim finding the situation to be amusing. I explained to her that the waitress flat out told my husband he did not order the bacon and was arguing with him. It was clearly scratched out on the bill. The owner said that it is her daughter that waited on us and it was her( the owner) fault because she forgot to put the bacon on the plate so I am pretty sure this behavior is acceptable for a waitress to call a customer a liar at this establishment. If it was an error then why was my husband called a liar? Would't I'm sorry I will go get the bacon been appropriate. I am a local person being treated like this, how do they treat other customers. Plus they are very over priced for the quality and quantity of food. Never again!

Yelp
We wanted a local diner for lunch and this place was at the airport. Service was quick. Both the waitress and owner of the restaurant were very nice. We both enjoyed their lunch specials - chicken noodle soup & three cheese grilled sandwich - chicken salad croissant sandwich. We would visit again.

Emily S.

Yelp
Great service and amazing homemade food. Try the desserts you will not be disappointed

Thomas S.

Yelp
Food is very yummy and it is very reasonably priced! The location seemed a bit odd and so did the exterior of the building, but it was very good!

Cathy S.

Yelp
Friendly service and good food. My husband ordered the grilled meatloaf sandwich and I had the mile high club sandwich with French fries. I don't eat a lot of fried food, but other reviews mentioned the homemade fries, so I wanted to try them to see if they lived up to the hype - they did. Just like my mom used to make. The club sandwich was good, nothing spectacular, but very filling. The grilled meatloaf sandwich was also a fairly large portion, and again good, but nothing spectacular. Even though our meals were a bit underwhelming, I'm still giving five stars because the atmosphere was just right, and the service was excellent. I'm glad we found this hidden gem, and we will definitely be returning.

Barbara P.

Yelp
Dropped in on a rainy Saturday afternoon and very pleasantly surprised. The service was fantastic even though they were busy. We had the cream of crab soup and it was delicious- great flavor and lots of crab meat - and nice and hot. We also had a side of onion rings that were nice and crisp. Reasonable prices. We'll be back!
