The Hungry Moose

To my delight they had fried fish on the menu this day! It was excellent! The fries were crisp and well seasoned. My husband had the brisket and enjoyed it. Now the beer cheese and pretzels were amazing! The cheese had a slight kick and we loved it. Hush puppies are really good as well. The slaw was our only disappointment as we love the stuff and this did not taste homemade. Other than that personal preference I highly recommend. The staff and owner were kind and friendly. If in the area again I will be back. Check out the shops across the street as well. Small community.

The food at Hungry Moose is really good. The sausage with mustard and onions was really good. The pretzels were good she said and the sauce with a little warm but really good. The pull pork look good. My sister said that the pull pork was really good and had a great flavor. I would said the next time in town I will be coming back.

Crispy french fries with some smoked BBQ!? SIGN ME UP! (again! haha) Great options for BBQ sauces, brisket was tender and flavorful, and the smoked chicken wasn't dry and packed with flavor as well. 💯 a must for Spencer, WV BBQ

Seriously a hidden gem! This place is freaking amazing. Killer spot, killer smoked pork, killer baked beans and that homemade italian dressing is to die for! Even down to their house salad with fresh dark green lettuce, not no cheap iceberg crap, yuck. I am pleasantly surprised to have found this spot. It was my first time here but definitely not my last!

I had high hopes with such positive reviews maybe I caught them on an off day. I order the pretzels and beer cheese as well as the tater kegs for a starter. The pretzels were cold in the middle and on the doughy side. The tater kegs were good butt very soggy and greasy. The brisket was far from tender and was more on the dry side. The Mac’n cheese had good texture but lacked a cheesy taste. I can say the French fries were the best thing I had purchased! Maybe an off day like I said judging the great reviews I’m sorry I could not give 5 stars!

I love this place and the people that run the restaurant and work there! They are so accommodating and welcoming, and the service is wonderful! The food is very delicious too! They have such a great variety to choose from! :) my favorites are the BBQ, chicken tenders, loaded tater tots, fries, mac and cheese. My husband loves the fish!!!!

Delicious food, very nice employees and clean! We rode our motorcycle through Spencer and we will definitely come back for the food! We had the brisket and southwest brisket salad! I’ve had brisket twice before from other places but here they trim all the fat and it is so very tasty without being greasy! We ate it too fast to think about taking a picture!

Great little place. The smoker smell is fabulous. Makes you hungry just walking by. Staff is very friendly. Food is outstanding. Best brisket around. When you are in the area and want the best barbecue around stop in and give them a try.
