The Hyppo Gourmet Ice Pops

If you are exploring downtown St. Augustine then I highly recommend stopping in here for a mid day treat. They have some delicious and unique flavors, plus some tipsy pops too. I tried their strawberry cheesecake which was delicious.

I never give too much attention to ice pops, I tried a few when I was a kid and I remember they never were my favorites, until now! My wife and I were walking by this store, it was really warm outside and I was almost sweating, so we went in for a refreshment, I had the watermelon... Wow.. it was like a explosion in my mouth, so tasty, so refreshing, maybe was the right thing at the right time but we enjoy these treats soo much that we came back the next day for more... Really good, highly recommended, if you are looking for something refreshing and tasty, give these a try, they have lots of different flavors, all the ones we tried were delicious. We will be back for more next time in town.

Stop in and speak with Mordi at the best place for popsicles. I highly recommend the alcohol infused popsicles, from the Nutella & Johnnie walker Blue Label helix pop, to the Poppin Bottles Cristal champagne & mango pop. Just perfect for any ice cold refreshing popsicles.

Funny but gourmet ice pops! There are several flavor combinations and they’re all delicious, from the most traditional to the unexpected ones. Staff is lovely and the brand is local, which is very nice. The best refreshment for a hot day, but a great treat anytime!

The lady working the counter was so nice and helpful. The pops are delicious. Blueberry cheesecake was the best.

Gourmet ice pops is accurate for sure. Some fun, weird, funky, and delicious ice pop flavour combinations. Lots for the traditional flavour lovers, and plenty of "I've never heard of that before" flavours too. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They are popular, even in the cold months. There is another location 2 blocks away that's a little smaller.

Stumbled onto The Hyppo as I was exploring downtown St. Augustine. I was fascinated with all the unique and interesting flavors they had to offer. I couldn't make up my mind on one, so I was talked into trying to by the very sweet employee at the counter. I started with the Bourbon Peach. It was delicious and very enjoyable. Next, I was on the fence about the cilantro pineapple but the employees assured me, if I was a fan of cilantro, I most likely would not be disappointed. She was absolutely right! Strangely enough, these two flavors worked incredibly well together! Thanks for the solid recommendation. Stop on in for a cool, hand crafted treat when you're in the area.

Not only a nice break from the heat, these popsicles are fresh and made in house. They are the perfect staple for a hot Florida day.

All of the flavors are great. I went with a simple strawberry when I went. Hyppo also offers to chocolate dip any of the pops. Though I was not in a sweet mood and wanted something more refreshing, I am hoping to try it the next time I am in town. The staff are super friendly and had great recommendations. Though I will say it is very hot inside the store when I went during the summer. The fans do not provide that much circulation.

Cute shop and delicious popsicles. As soon as we came in we were greater and had all the popsicles explained to us. So many incredible choices. We all made our selections and enjoyed them. I chose the pineapple hatch and it was the perfect balance of spicy and sweet. It packed major punch. Which is what you would want when something has hatch chilis. But then the sweet pineapple was the perfect contrast. They even had adult only flavors. We don't try them but plan to next time.

Lots of flavors to choose from - broken down on menu board also for dairy and dairy free (for those with dairy allergies). There are merchandise and two tables to sit and relax. Clean and easy place to stop in for a quick snack.

Yesterday we walked around Saint Augustine the historic side and it was unbelievably hot. However I wasn't feeling the lick it booth with the dole whip because we have that in Orlando. So I saw a sign that said natural Popsicles and immediately I had to stop in. This cute little popsicle shop has not only dairy free Popsicles but dairy as well; along with some spicy popsicle options. The inside of the shop is decorated with bright colors and cute little decals on the windows. They also have some of their own merchandise including shirts stickers and cups. My popsicle was only around four dollars and I got the strawberry flavor. If you haven't been I definitely recommend it it is right off Hipolita Street and historic Saint Augustine. 10/10

Super friendly staff with sooo many flavors to try. Locations are here and there. The St. Augustine location is the original location and are inside of many historic buildings.

We tried 2 alcoholic flavors i.e. margarita and pineapple. My kids had orange cream and chocolate. The ice creams were really ice pops with limited flavor and all we could taste was the ice. Not very cheap given the size.

Awesome little place to drop in after a hot stroll through downtown. A few tables and chairs inside, a nice atmosphere. Good music, ice cream shop type music, not that wild nowadays. Friendly & quick service. Popsicles were $4.50 each. There was merch available for purchase & a fridge that had water for $3.00 and kombucha for $4.50. Nice treat stop in you'll be glad you did.

The ice pops are incredibly flavorful and refreshing, perfect for a hot day. However, they are on the pricier side.

The Hyppo never disappoints!! I took some out of town friends to this location while they were in town, and we all absolutely loved it! The flavors we chose were: Keylime pie, Nutella, strawberry, and lavender, blueberry. All of them were absolutely amazing! I personally chose the Keylime pie, and it had the best lime flavor with a smidge of tartness, that was perfect. My daughter loved her strawberry and shockingly ate the entire thing (she's three, so this is a victory). This was the first time we've ever enjoyed our Popsicles indoors, and they have this location separated into cute little rooms! The paintings on the walls are very unique and go with the whole popsicle motif! Can't wait to come back and try more flavors

My husband and I were visiting his dad in St Augustine and we decided to explore Down Town and we came across The Hyppo. It was pretty warm outside and so we needed a little pick me up, the team is super friendly and we learned about one of their flavors Datil pepper cheesecake, I've never heard about the Datil pepper but it's supposed to be a local pepper, my mother in law loves to make hot sauces with them. I ended up getting the strawberry lemonade and Bry got the espresso horchata, their flavors vary depending on season so you might be getting something different from ours. My strawberry lemonade was so refreshing, it was really hot at the time and definitely needed a cool down, Bry's was nice and creamy he loved it. Definitely coming back next time we're in town!

OMG what a fun popsicle shop!! So many yummy flavors and unique combinations of flavors. This charming little store was a fun stop in a summer day. The young lady behind the counter was SO SWEET and fun. She talked about every flavor and was patient while we were deciding. Unfortunately I didn't get her name but we were in today 6/5 around 3:30pm. I do hope she gets recognized. The flavors were fresh and bold. They would even dip in chocolate for you! We got strawberry lemonade, orange Creamsicle, Nutella, raspberry lemonade, and peanut butter cup dipped in chocolate. Every flavor was better than the next! We can't wait to come back and try more flavors. If I were to say one negative thing, there wasn't quite enough seating for everyone. It would be nice to have a few more chairs or benches inside. Otherwise it was perfect.

The Hyppo is a perfect example of a business charging a premium for a superior product, that is absolutely worth every penny! I have no idea how much time or money they spend on research and development, but it is either substantial or their popsicle chefs are just insanely gifted at coming up with beautifully balanced and creative flavor combinations. Of course, not all of the flavor combinations are brilliant and inspired. Some are just classics. And I would like to point out one important thing in this review. The choices at The Hyppo are overwhelming. Full stop. There is almost no good way for a first timer to make a selection. Sure, there are a few free samples available to taste. But how on earth can anyone be expected to choose. What my group decided to do was to ask the clerk. My friend asked, "Which flavor is the most popular. " Without hesitation the young man said, Strawberry Lemonade. But I suggested to my friend that perhaps this wasn't the best question, so I followed up asking about what his personal favorites were, and that is how we found the Blackberry Goat Cheese. Great places will always have to have crowd favorites to satisfy the masses. However, The Hyppo clearly has a passion for more complexities than the general public might accept. As a fan of middle eastern inspired sweets, I was compelled to order the Pistachio Rosewater. It was fantastic! As was the Blackberry Goat Cheese. I'm sure the Strawberry Lemonade was also delicious. Still, when you are paying a pretty penny for a popsicle, it's prudent to procure a phenomenal one. Go for the gusto. Get out of your comfort zone. Try something new with an open mind, and be rewarded. The Hyppo knows what they are doing, and I look forward to many returns to try my way through more of their popsicle palette.

Delicious treats yogurt popsicles. Friendly counter service. Huge selection of popsicles. I tried the Elvis peanut butter, banana, and honey. It was very tasty.

The product here I find to be one of a kind. Their gourmet popsicles are awesome. I've tried all different flavors, including the boozy ones. So many flavors to choose from too. If you have any questions, the staff is very helpful and knowledgeable. This location is very cute as well. Right in the touristy section of old town.

We loved stopping in on such a hot day. The flavors are unique and tasty. We tried a peanut butter pop and because of Yelp we were able to get a free chocolate dip. The second popsicle was blueberry lavender lemonade. This one was amazing! The service was friendly and quick. The space is small but very cute.

This place is so cute !! They have so many different ice pops. And some of them actually have alcohol in them. This place is filled with paintings all around the walls super cute to chill out and have your dessert. Highly recommend this place you have to visit

This place was so cute! I took my cousins in for a cold treat and the service was fast. The girl behind the counter was very busy but very sweet and the flavor selection was on point! Will definitely have to come back next time I'm in town.

Stopped in today for a pick me up popsicle from the Hyppo, after a visit to the fort. My mom got the strawberry lemonade and I got the honey honeydew. I was happy to try both, I definitely liked the strawberry lemonade better, but both were super refreshing. The lady working the counter was very sweet and helpful. If I lived nearby, I would definitely become a regular.

This place is amazing! I first tried this place back in 2011. You honestly can never go wrong with any flavor combo. Strawberry dátil, guava hibiscus, it's all amazing. Each shop is so cute, the colors are as refreshing as the flavors! Must try!!

A really expensive place to get a really good popsicle. They have easily 25+ flavors and there's something for everyone. But you're gonna pay like eight bucks for a popsicle. Order: Honestly, whatever strikes your fancy. I would recommend a cream-based popsicle, maybe one of the cheesecake ones. About: $8 So here's the thing about The Hyppo pops, they are absurdly expensive. Like eight dollars for a popsicle is crazy. But equally crazy is that they're honestly worth it. It's totally a splurge purchase but once you find a few of them that you like I promise you will find yourself willing to pay $7-$8 for a popsicle. All the popsicles are premade and while they don't rotate all the flavors, they do have a rotating selection and normally they're stocked with 25+ flavors. In my opinion, the best ones are the cream-based popsicles as they're less icy and almost halfway to an ice cream bar. They will also dip them in chocolate for an additional price and while my wife loves to do this, I think the quality of the chocolate is far below the quality of the popsicle and so I often don't do it. I really miss having a hippo pops in Jacksonville and we often make our way to this one whenever we're in Saint Augustine. It's a nice treat and while I love them I probably wouldn't be able to go every day.

This is one of the few locations that I remember from the last time we were here. The popsicles are all unique and bay in flavor. Perfect spot to get out of the heat and grab a sweet treat. I opted for the bourbon peach and loved how refreshing the peach was and i was delighted to find chunks of fresh peach in the Popsicle.

Hyppo Gourmet Ice Pops on Charlotte Street is certainly a cute spot here in St. Augustine with friendly service and a nice small indoor seating area that seats approximately 12. No parking lot, just paid parking only available and on a Monday afternoon we got pretty lucky to find a spot. There was definitely a wide assortment of ice pops to pick from. I had my heart set on the Champagne Mango before we made the trip out here to St. Augustine and it what was meant to be! My husband opted for The Jackfruit and we took a third one with us to try later... Mango Mojito! We both truly enjoyed! All 3 were delightfully refreshing especially on a humid day such as today. The ice pops were all easy to find in the freezer. (*‿*) / ﾟﾟA+ on customer service! We got a warm welcome as we entered in. The establishment was nice and clean. We will definitely be back when we are in the area to try other flavors. I told my husband we should have got 2 of each of the Champagne Mango and Jackfruit. Lol. Right in the heart of downtown old St Augustine is The Hyppo. There are so many flavors to choose from and these pops are so refreshing on a hot day! A new favorite stop to swing by when we are in the area. I love that the staff have tried the product and can offer suggestions on what to get. They seem to also really enjoy these delicious ice pops... That says a lot to me.

Went here years ago on a vacation and raved about it, still rings true today. Got the cinnamon blueberry and chocolate covered vanana banilla. Both were excellent. So many fresh flavors to choose from and the cutest decor throughout the shop. Can't wait to go back again

I got the pistachio coconut pop. It was quite tasty. Also, at the end of the pop there were minced up pistachios that made it extra delish.

I have been multiple times. I love the idea of this place by I am still looking for a flavor combination that I truly enjoy. The combinations are varied and unusual. My dilemma is I find a flavor I like and it's polluted with a flavor I don't like. I keep trying in hopes of finding my sweet spot.

I confess that I wanted to stay in St Augustine just so I could try a few more of Hyppo's home-made popsicles. It was not easy to choose a flavor, they all looked amazing, but what first caught my eye was the Avocado Coconut and it was refreshing and tasty (not too sweet).

Seriously this place is the "coolest". Their paletas (popsicle) are AHHHH-MAZING! The flavor options are so unique...and flavorful! Nestled in the cute little old town of St Augustine, these popsicle are perfect for sightseeing. Grab the magic dragon (dragonfruit, guava, and guanabana) it's seriously like biting on the actual fruit! SUPER refreshing and yummy! If you like a little spice try the Mexican chocolate with cayenne pepper. Spicy in all the right ways! They do offer samples for their flavors of the month, luckily we got to sample the mango mojito...YUM YUM! Check this place it totally worth it!

I visited this Hyppo location for the first time after lunch and really enjoyed the experience. This location was larger than expected and had a very large selection of flavors to choose from. The sole employee was very nice and helpful and made for a comforting service experience. I chose a blackberry and goat cheese pop covered in chocolate and made a great choice. Honestly, I think I might've gone overboard by adding chocolate because it overpowered this particular pop, but it was downed quickly regardless. The pop is just so fresh and flavorful!! I would definitely visit again.

This was a cute popsicle/icecream bar. There were a lot of unique flavors that you don't really see anywhere else. It might seem a little pricey, but it is definitely worth the price. I personally recommend the toasted buckeye flavor, it consisted of 3 layers (sea salt chocolate, peanut butter, and coconut). The place is very hipster and cute for pictures! -psa the mango popsicle is actually mango ginger!!

Nothing better than a delicious gourmet popsicle at this spot. I seem to always go to Saint Augustine on an extremely hot day... This place is always my go-to there and always cures when being hot. I had the Mango Mojito this time, it was so refreshing especially with the hints of the mint! Plus it's in such a great location where you can sit on a bench and people watch while enjoying your delicious treat.

Crazy interesting flavors and so many of them!!! I have been looking at the Hyppo sign over the last few years and never stopped in mainly because I am not a huge popsicle fan. But every once in a while, I will partake! I can't say I will be stopping every time I see the sign, but summer is almost here and I will be more prone to stop in for a lighter cold treat than ice cream! I loved that you can get them chocolate dipped too!!! The girl working was amazing- she honored a coupon I couldn't get to load on my phone! Love it! I really loved the pennants they have! This place is so cool! It has the most amazing fruit filled homemade popsicles I have ever tasted. I tried the berry margarita and yes they actually Id for these boozy delicacies!! Try the orange creamsicle too! Great super cute bright decor!!

Nice location near the fort, friendly service, and lots of fantastic flavors. It was a hot day and my pop was extremely well frozen, but I could not taste much of the flavor. At $5 it is not working for me, but it IS a very cold treat on a very hot day.

I came here after wandering through the oldest town in the nation. The hippo is very cute both inside and outside. There are quite a couple of seatings inside with a wide array of gourmet popsicles. Price ranges between $3-$6, and I had their pumpkin latte. The pumpkin was smooth not he outside, and inside the popsicle was the latte. It complemented so well with each other, and the flavor was very deep. I would love it if they have one in Oregon (my home state), so I can try the other flavors. The employees were nice in helping me pick the flavor. Highly recommend it here.

My husband and I stopped at the Hyppo for a Yelp Elite event. I received a strawberry and basil popsicle which was recommended by the shop attendant. Thanks!!!!! She was absolutely right! Who would've thought basil in a popsicle could be so delish? We purchased a Keylime Pie popsicle for my husband. I could only have a small taste due to my dairy allergy, but if I had closed my eyes I could have sworn that it was a piece of Keylime Pie. Kudos! If you're looking for something non-alcoholic (or even an adult upgraded popsicle) look no further than the Hyppo.. You will not be disappointed. We will be back!
