Highly Discriminatory Policy - Refusal to Allow Local Residents to Book/Accompany Guests
I am writing to express my extreme disappointment and concern regarding the discriminatory policy enforced at the hotel.
As a local resident, I attempted to book a room for visiting friends and was met with an outright refusal based solely on my residency and was informed that any local person in proximity of 20 KM is not allowed to booked this hotel.
At some moments I agreed to them acclaiming security reasons and booked a room for my friend though they were govt officials.
Furthermore, I was denied the simple courtesy of accompanying my friends to their room upon check-in.
The manager's statement that "we don't allow locals to book this hotel" is not only insulting but also deeply problematic. This policy suggests a blatant disregard for local residents and creates an unwelcoming atmosphere. It raises serious questions about the hotel's understanding of inclusivity and respect.
Here's a breakdown of my critique:
* Discriminatory Policy:
The policy of refusing bookings from local residents is inherently discriminatory and lacks any justifiable basis.
It creates a sense of alienation and exclusion for those who live in the immediate vicinity.
* Lack of Customer Service:
Denying a local resident the ability to accompany their guests to their room is exceptionally poor customer service.
It demonstrates a lack of basic hospitality and a disregard for the comfort and convenience of guests.
* Unprofessional Conduct:
The manager's statement was delivered in a manner that was both dismissive and unprofessional. The policy itself is highly unprofessional.
* Negative Impact on Local Community:
This policy actively discourages local residents from recommending or utilizing your hotel, potentially damaging your reputation within the community.
* It gives the impression that local residents are not good enough to use the hotel.
I urge the hotel management to reconsider this discriminatory policy and implement a more inclusive and welcoming approach. Though, the hotel ambiance, food and other services are best in the proximity.
Hotels should be places of hospitality for everyone, regardless of their place of residence.
I would appreciate a response addressing my concerns and outlining the steps you will take to rectify this situation.
I will also be posting this review on popular review sites to warn other potential customers.
