The Indus Valley

I have just completed a 4 day stay at the Indus Valley Hotel. Excellent experience all around. First the staff: Mr. Stanzin Sonam at the Front Desk, Mr. Mang for Travel and Mr. Paul (General Manager) were each excellent as were the rest of the staff (including, especially, those in the main restaurant). The Hotel is in a very good location: Quiet but just a few steps away from the main market and the dozens of shopping and dining options offered there. I took a hotel car w driver each day for local sightseeing, to Nubra Valley and to Pingong. Nice clean cars and excellent drivers. You might pay a little over street price, but totally worth it, in my opinion. I bet breakfasts in the restaurant. Multiple continental/Indian/local food choices served by a very friendly staff. It is a small to mid-size hotel which I liked a lot in comparison to larger options in the area. All in: An excellent stay. Highly recommended.

Very nice hotel and great service. Location is great position for walking. Rooms are clean and well equipped. The staff are great with Jigmet snd Balbut taking great care to all our needs. We would certainly recommend this hotel again considering its proximity and price point.

Very good luxury hotel, excellent location, near the market so convenient, and not in the main lane, so it's not that crowded or noisy. Rooms and food were outstanding, and staff were also prompt and gave excellent service. Our driver Hussain was a very good driver, and was very knowledgable about the area and very helpful. Great rooms, very good overall experience. The reception staff were also very sweet and helpful.

Indus Valley Hotel made our stay extremely memorable. The property is nicely done and well maintained. Location is ideal. Just 5 mins walk from the main market. We reached Leh around 7.30am but the hotel provided us early check in so that we could take a rest. The staff is extremely courteous. Main Chef Pawan is very good at all type of cuisine. He made some dishes for us on request. Stanzin at front desk is very helpful in arranging small things. Overall an excellent experience.

There are only two hotels in Leh with air conditioning and people coming from North need that because of tolerance to cold climates. In June it was much needed. We had a valley spa room with room and jacuzzi and it was enjoyable. The food is varied and you will find something for every one.

I visited this hotel sometime back with my son and husband. We happened to see this hotel by chance on an aggregator website and contacted the hotel staff to know the location etc. Their representative, Ms. Anu really took charge from there... She helped us define a fantastic itinerary, arranged our ride to and from airport and Nubra valley. The driver, Mr. Nazir, was also exceptional. Because of his driving expertise our journey to Khardungla pass, the Nubra valley, pangong lake and Chang la pass became an easy travel. He also had excellent knowledge of local sites and helped us refine our itinerary. The hotel staff in the kitchen were also very courteous and always served food with a smile. Overall, a very good experience.
