So enjoyed both stays here - the first time in The Bunkhouse and the second time in The Chicken Coop. One of our stays (two nights each time) was in summer and one during harvest. Each time was delightful. Abeja is a working winery, and they produce top notch wine, so it is treat to stay at the Inn which is really five different buildings on the grounds of what was once an old farm and now a winery surrounded by vineyards.
It is typically tough to get reservations. Maybe that's because not only are the guest set ups charming but the grounds are open to wander for more great experience and the full breakfast served in the beautiful main (barn?) building is pretty special too.
The Innkeeper had changed between visit one and visit two, but each time we enjoyed great service.
In addition to the Bunkhouse, a bit away from the other units (the least expensive at $200 and up per night) and the Chicken Coop, which backs to a creek with lovely privacy in the rear, ($240 and up)) there is also the Carriage House Suite ($450 and up), the Summer Kitchen ($265 and up),and the Locust ($265 and up), which like the Chicken Coop backs to the creek.
Bathrooms are "cozy" - meaning small. The Bunkhouse bath is shower over clawfoot tub. Chicken Coop and Locust both have showers, not tubs. A neat element for the Bunkhouse, was that it had a hammock in the back yard, for napping after Wall Walla winery visits and a front porch for morning coffee sipping. Each unit has a full kitchen in addition to bedroom, bath and living rooms. And that can come in handy given this is a ways out of town to the eastside. So if you don't want to dine in Walla Walla in the evening, you can enjoy take out using the kitchen to heat and prep, open a bottle of wine and savor the setting.
We probably won't stay here again...the first time was on us and the second two night stay was a gift from good friends (who specifically requested the Coop for us knowing our affection for roosters and chickens.). But it is definitely worth the effort to make a reservation and if you're visiting Walla Walla for a couple of days, you really should treat yourself to the Inn at Abeja at least once.
One last tip...even guests of the Inn must have an appointment for wine tasting if you want to do that at the Abeja winery. Or at least that was our experience on both visits. So remember to make those reservations too!
