We have stayed at the Chateau many times in the past decade or two, and it is always a joy to be there on the Old Mission Peninsula. The grounds are lovely, the view of Grand Traverse Bay is spectacular, and the rooms are somewhat dated (limited TV offerings, limited USB connections for charging), but we can overlook that when we compare this place with the more modern offerings elsewhere. New visitors might not realize all the amenities, as check-ins are somewhat casual, and don't necessarily focus on them. But a nice workout facility, lounge area with TV, books and games, and the option to socialize with other guests are homey accents not typically found at modern hotels. Also available at the Inn is a kitchen with a refrigerator well stocked by the executive chef, Perry Harmon. At this last visit we enjoyed the self serve breakfast with Nespresso coffee options, many juices in the fridge, yogurts, fruits and multiple "nuke it yourself" choices such as quiches, burritos, breakfast sandwiches, sausages, etc. When we arrived we were exhausted from a day of travel, so passed on the offered free wine tastings (glasses to keep) and went straight to our room, where we found a complimentary bottle of wine and a fresh, moist, homemade chocolate cookie (recipe please?) At breakfast the next morning we found, in addition to the breakfast offerings, several homemade pies, which we assume were available the night before if we had taken the time to check out, and which several other guests highly recommended as they were having breakfast dessert! The breakfast room and view are lovely, and then there's the beauty of the Old Mission Peninsula, the vineyards, and the drive and view around the Grand Traverse Bay. Who would choose to stay anywhere else? We shall return!

Our stay at the Chateau Grand Traverse Inn was AMAZING! Exceeded our expectations!! We decided to celebrate our wedding anniversary somewhere we had not been before and chose to tour the Old Mission Peninsula and spend the night. The Chateau Grand Traverse Inn was tucked away in a nice quiet spot behind the winery, with a scenic overlook, and walking distance to the winery. The grounds were very beautifully groomed, and the rooms were clean, comfortable, and quiet. It was a special treat to receive a bottle of wine and two engraved souvenir glasses included with our stay. My husband is not a big wine drinker but we both loved our visit and will definitely be back again (...real soon).

We stayed in the room called We ine in the Woods. It has a lovely little balcony overlooking I king a wooded area. I regret i didn't take a photo of the room. I did take a photo of the tasting room, which I will share. ||The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was OK but they did not have a handicap bathroom. We were disappointed about that. ||The breakfast was good. They had fruit chunks, quiche, orange juice, bagels with cream cheese, sausages, all serve yourself||They were generous with complimentary pours in the tasting room and brought us a complimentary bottle of wine to our room. ||We felt very welcome

Fabulous time away and wonderful staff. Can’t wait to return again! The staff went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable in all aspects of our stay. And the wine is good too! 😉

Small, six room inn, however the service and amenities are on par with the best hotels. Limited menu. Wines were more to my preference than other vineyards. Perfectly located among wineries and restaurants. Would stay here again.

Staying at the Inn for one night was just perfect for getting into the spirit of the vineyards. The tasting room staff was a mix, some quite knowledgeable, others a bit indifferent. We stayed in the “Wine in the Orchard” room, which had a nice view. The inn rooms have thin, almost “cartoon” walls, so even small noises like snoring in the next room disturbed our sleep. The do-it-yourself breakfast was a pleasant way to start the day before continuing the journey.

We just came home from our third stay! Everything was exceptional as the other 2 times we stayed. The food was great, a bottle of wine when we checked in, free tastings and a free glass of wine in the evening was the perfect end to every night. Sherri in the tasting room was a rockstar! The staff at the inn was polite and kept the Inn immaculate! We had one issue with our room keys not working. We stopped in the tasting room when they were closing and Hiro was on top of getting us back into the Inn and making sure the keys worked.I have recommended the Inn to many people and cannot wait until our next visit!
