The Inn at Dos Brisas

"How did it strike you on arrival? One feels the grandeur of The Inn at Dos Brisas from the approach—before you can even drive onto the grounds, you'll have to be buzzed in at the front gate. The 313-acre property, which has nine rooms, feels quintessential Texas—like, there are horses frolicking in the fields. Nice. What's the vibe of the other guests?Regal meets Ranch. Guests appreciate the great outdoors but aren't opposed to ordering an expensive bottle of wine at dinner. What type of room did you stay in?We booked one of the 3,000-square-foot haciendas—essentially our own private ranch house. There was a large living room, a master bedroom, a huge screened-in porch (with a heavenly swing), and a private plunge pool. And after an exciting day spent horseback riding and clay shooting, the outdoor shower was icing on the cake. Any little details that made your stay even more special? The Wi-Fi is free, but there's no way you are going to waste a second of your time here doing work. Upon check in, you'll get a personal golf cart so you can roam the property. The mini-bar is stocked with complimentary non-alcoholic drinks and snacks, and our room had an outdoor shower. Can we grab a bite to eat here? The resort boasts the only Forbes Five-Star restaurant in Texas; guests and the public alike can partake in executive chef Zachary Ladwig's five-course farm-to-table meal ($95, not including a caviar-service supplement). Would you like to give a shout out to anyone on staff?Rebecca Beaman, the extremely knowledgeable sommelier, patiently helped us select the perfect bottle of wine. What else does this hotel offer? Each hacienda has its own private pool; there's also a central resort pool. There's no spa, but you can relax with an in-room massage or any number of nature-focused activities, including stargazing. So, ultimately, why are we booking a stay? There is no other property like this in the state of Texas—period." - Diana Oates

My husband and I stayed in a hacienda for the night and enjoyed an incredible dinner in the restaurant. The hacienda is fantastic. Every bit a five star. The staff we encountered upon our arrival and those that took care of us in the rooms were professional, helpful and friendly. Our dinner was perfect. We chose the 7 course tasting menu. The wines chosen were good accompaniments to the courses, but if you are looking for a wine tasting adventure that takes the food and wine to a whole new level, that place is not here. We were disappointed in that everything else about this resort is top notch. We felt the staff in the dining room were not as engaging as the rest of the staff either. From our experience those were the only two things that were missing. Unfortunate because we were so hoping that this would be our go-to escape so close to home.

My wife and I call this our "city detoxification". At Dos Brisas, Texas has never been more beautiful with even the stars shining at night. The rooms are incredible and we love to sit on the giant swing in the screened in porch to read a book and enjoy a glass of wine. Chef Zach at the restaurant prepares delicate and delicious cuisine that is worth the drive alone. Service is personal but not intrusive. For years this was our secret retreat but it's clearly getting more well deserved attention given the full dining room.

My wife and I visited The Inn at Dos Brisas last month and it was absolutely wonderful. What a terrific getaway that is so conveniently close to the Houston airport. Our Hacienda was amazing - we never wanted to leave! And we loved engaging with their excellent team - Farmer Lisa and Chef Zachary in particular. This is truly a distinctive place for couples. Next time, we plan to return with the family and take advantage of all the other activities this luxe resort has to offer.

A hidden country gem is my new favorite restaurant. The Inn at Dos Brisas is an self contained organic farm that offers upscale fine dining (at a very reasonable price relatively) with an amazing wine collection. The quality, hospitality, and courses ...well, My wife said this place better “blow our socks off”, and it did more than that. Way exceeded expectations. If you want an incredible night out, take and adventure just north of Chappell Hill and treat yourself. You won’t be disappointed. All with cozy fireplace on a cold night. See pics. I can’t recommend enough.

Wow! A truly spectacular venue in the heart of Texas, not a detail was missed! I had the fortune to visit this elegant property for an outdoor wedding that was first class in every way. The food was phenomenal; I never knew food of that quality could be cooked for so many people. The beauty of the property blew me away; the ceremony was conducted at sunset in a meadow under an old oak tree with Spanish moss hanging from the branches…stunning! Additionally, I was very impressed with the service and friendliness of the staff; they clearly knew what they were doing. It was the perfect spot for the happy couple to start their new life together!

We are absolutely amazed by everything about this place and we have stayed at places all over the world. They really go above and beyond here with their service and we left feeling relaxed and so happy. The food was upscale and outstanding. The environment was gorgeous. I love having your own personal cottage with your own golf cart. We only stayed one night and we had a magnificent time. I would highly recommend this place for either a one night or weekend getaway!

There are not enough words to express what a wonderful holiday our family of 20 had at the Inn at Dos Brisas! Starting with the GM Jonathan Cartwright and Monica who went out of their way to make sure everything was perfect and it really was perfect! The wonderful five star chef and food was the best we have ever had! The caring staff always available with a smile! We thank you all for everything!

Wow. My husband and I are in shock. Dos Brisas just called us (with less than a week away from our check-in) to tell us they are cancelling their reservations for the next few months. My first thought was that there must have been a family emergency or some terrible situation to make the owner do this with no notice. However, the explanation provided was that they were closing down due to some changes the owner wanted to make to the facility. This was supposed to have been for our 10 year wedding anniversary and also the first time to leave our baby. We had arrangements all made including in-laws booked from out of town to watch our house and child. We are extremely disappointed and shocked that the owner would conduct business this way. It is not only a shame that we will now never visit this beautiful resort, but now we don't have time to find a comparable place for our much awaited anniversary and long overdue romantic getaway. So disappointed.
