The Inn At Dromoland

We had a family Christening dinner in the Inn at Dromoland and it was exceptional. Ursula was wonderful to deal with in the lead up to the dinner, helping to plan for the special day and Rizat, the restaurant manager was so friendly and helpful to us. We felt very confident that everything would run smoothly on the day, because of the time, effort and planning that both Ursula amd Rizat put into it.|The room we were in, The Sun Room, was a beautiful room , a perfect size for a large family dinner. The decor was beautiful and the table layout etc. was spot on. The menu selection was so varied, there was definitely something for everybody to enjoy. The service was very good and the food was incredible. The staff were so friendly to everyone and we all felt very relaxed and comfortable throughout the day. They also made time to chat with us and interact with the children. Even after the dinner we were welcome to stay in the room and the staff continued to look after us.|||When choosing a venue, we believe that the experience is more than just having good food, it is about helping to create a memorable experience and we will definitely use the Inn at Dromoland as our venue of choice for more family events. Could not fault it.

Booked 3 triple rooms here on a January weekend for a family gathering. Very happy with the service, spacious rooms and food. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Dinner in the restaurant was excellent and much better than other similar hotels we've visited.|An early morning walk on the grounds of Dromoland Castle via the rear entrance was a real treat. |Leisure centre is a bit dated but is clean and for once in a Irish hotel the sauna and steam room were both really hot. |Only negative was that the lobby was cold but this was probably due to the current refurb. The manager kindly provided a heater which helped somewhat. |All in all great value and highly recommended. |

Have had the pleasure of visiting this stunning venue to capture a number of weddings and each time I am blown away, The grounds are maintained to the highest level and are breathtaking for couples photo sessions, there are so many beautiful photo locations around the venue which gives great variety. All 3 items were very tasty. Nachos especially, those 3 items came to around €40 too which was excellent as some of the mains alone are €22+. They done two adults, nice kids menu too with some good food if you have adventurous kids that like to try different things. Really liked their selection of starters on the menu. Only flaw was their Guinness wasn't the best now.

We stayed here (4 lads) for one night and played golf at Dromoland Castle. It was the perfect location for this, and the hotel was fantastic. The food was terrific, and the pints just as good. The breakfast the next morning was excellent. The staff were very nice and very professional. I would definitely recommend a stay here. We'll certainly be back.

We had a fantastic evening on Saturday the 16th of December. Sophie was our server for afternoon tea and she was outstanding our tea and coffee cups were never empty. The selection of sweet and savoury bites that arrived for afternoon tea were delicious.

We were surprised that our room wasn’t heated, in the middle of January. We mentioned it to reception who advised the heating would come on later, and it didn’t. It was so cold. The room was spacious but sombre with inadequate lighting. No water in the room either. Facilities were lacking- the bar/restaurant closed after breakfast and didn’t reopen until lunch.

Hello, having recently seen the Valentine's Day menu on Instagram, I decided to book a table for me and my husband for our round wedding anniversary. Unfortunately, we are very disappointed. For this dinner, we took a day off from work and resigned from another party, and we were not served despite the reservation. I asked about the reservation under the post with the Valentine's Day menu, asking if it is possible to book table for this occasion. I got the answer that yes, so I then asked about the reservation around 8 p.m.(If I had known, I would have asked for an hour earlier, where we waited all day for this dinner, and we were booked 8 in advance) where the employee answered and informed us that he had accepted a reservation for two at 8 p.m. So I planned the whole day for this dinner as a gift for my husband. We arrived at the restaurant practically 15 minutes early. We were informed that we had to wait and in the meantime we could have a drink at the bar, which we did. Then we waited for about 20 minutes after 8 o'clock, where I asked for our table. We were assigned a table somewhere at the end of the restaurant, where it was evident that we had been forgotten. Then we waited another 20 minutes until someone finally informed us that the kitchen was serving the Valentine's Day menu only until 8 a.m. and the kitchen did not agree to the service. So we waited 40 minutes for free to order Fish & Chips and Steak. I made a reservation typical for the Valentine's Day menu, otherwise we wouldn't have come. We understand the decision of the kitchen because we are qualified chefs ourselves. However, someone clearly made a mistake with the reservations, or at least should have informed us that they gave us a table for a regular menu at 8 a.m., not Valentine's Day, where from the beginning it was about the Valentine's Day menu and we set ourselves up for it, on such an important occasion, and in the end we ended up hungry and angry, we could have spent this time differently. We are very disgusted, although we have repeatedly recommended you as a recommendable place to work. 2 STARS JUST FOR BEING YOUR REGULAR CUSTOMERS. Edit. I would like to add one more thing: after us, a couple came after us and had been served before us(someone gave them table without booking while we”re still waiting on the bar) and also had a suggested Valentine’s Day menu, as others as well as the whole time we were waiting.

We had a really nice day at this resort. Many people who had children told me this was the best resort in the area to stay at with a small child and apparently that's true as there were lots of other children in the hotel. Our room was nice with two double beds and a spacious bathroom. There was an outdoor playground but unfortunately it was a bit too cold for my little one to play. One of the reasons I chose this hotel was for the indoor playground. However, please note that the hours are limited, especially in the winter and so it wasn't even open at all that day we were there. This was a total bummer. We had breakfast at the hotel for ease and convenience. It was actually quite good. Because we were there in the off-season and it wasn't very busy, they actually made my husband and I full Irish breakfast in the back and offered to make my son pancakes. Normally I believe they have a hot and cold Buffet set up but because there weren't that many people they were offering hot food fresh. The pancakes were more like French crêpes, but they were very good. The scrambled eggs were also very good. I'm also learning to like white breakfast pudding as it's sort of reminds me of haggis from Scotland. The cold Buffet was open and had pastries, yogurt, cereal, and fruit. The breakfast was a little pricey, but the food was good and there was plenty of it. The service was very friendly parking is included and this served as a great, jumping off point to Bunratty castle and folk park. It also wasn't a terrible drive to the Cliffs of Moher. The hotel was beautifully decorated for the holidays.

Sadly, disappointing. Such high hopes & just to be in Ireland. Sad way to start vacay. Great Value Vacation put us here, please take it off. Pics look great but not reality. Old, needs updating, new carpets & furniture. Beds were uncomfortable & cheaply made. Beautiful grounds but bad inside, including breakfast. Fresh flowers were amazing. Decor seems askew/ crooked ??? Service was wonderful, very thankful for them.

Inconsistent with big highs and big lows. The new owners are Dromoland Castle and they are working on fixing a run down hotel formerly known as the Clare Inn but this property is not recommended to stay. We were there for a wedding and the event food was excellent, 5 stars, a real highlight of our stay. Congratulations to the chef and team on a memorable event. The attached Shanigans pub is inconsistent. The kitchen produced good pub fare: chicken wings, burgers, fish and chips but the servers and bar staff are slow and inexperienced. Room quality is distinctly low and very inconsistent. Our group staying at the hotel had broken windows, heating and cooling issues, wrong room types and worn areas of carpet and furniture. Could use better beds, ironing boards, fridges and safes in rooms. We were given a room change due to having an Executive King room with the heat on in summer, broken window and a view of the interior parking lot. Second room was cooler, had a nice view of the hills and seventh fairway. Bonus was a nest of swallows in the eves that made in room breakfasts very enjoyable and entertaining watching momma come in to feed her baby swallows. We missed the comfortable King bed from the first room and instead had two very hard doubles. It worked but was not what we expected and was uncomfortable. As I mentioned earlier it's all being worked on by the new owners but it's not there yet as of August 2023. Try the Shannon Springs near the airport.

This is a unique hotel...if Yelp allowed for half stars, this place would earn 2.5. From the outside it looks like a mansion. This place is ginormous & has both a golf & mini golf course outside. When you enter, the lobby is gorgeous & newly renovated. We read reviews on TripAdvisor & knew the lobby would be a bit "deceiving" compared to the rest of the hotel. Our room was located on the upper floor, but was a good long walk from the lobby. Past the lobby, everything is dated & could use a fresh coat of paint. The floors need to be updated. The floors throughout the hallways would make very loud noises. The doors do not close quietly. They SHUT. And they're very loud. Our room was not too bad. The beds were fine & the room was fine. However, the bathroom left much to be desired for. It was very...very...dated. I have to mention we booked our Ireland trip through an agency so all the hotels were pre booked for us. This was not our choice. So, if you can find a place elsewhere, you may be better off.

Arranged a trip to Ireland through Great Value vacations and this was one of the hotels it selected. This place was so hard to find.....when we typed in the address it takes us to the golf course or to the Dromoland castle which we were sad to say was not our hotel....we stumbled upon this place on accident but luckily it is where we needed to be. When walking in, this place looks exquisite! Friendly staff that will make you feel very welcome, beautiful registration booth, an open sun room, large hotel restaurant room and the shenanigans bar and grill. We were directed to the elevator which was way way way way down to the other side of the hotel. The room it was in was filthy and smelled of fish. The elevator was dirty and so was the carpet all the way from there to our room. Our table was broken, we figured this out only after our belongings fell all over the floor, but the super pleasant and kind staff helped accommodate by sending a different table and chocolates for our trouble. The farther up you go the dirtier it gets. The rooms however were spacious, large beds with reading lights, plenty of lamps for decent lighting, and a large desk. The toilet did not flush, the hot water never came it stayed luke warm...we had to use boiling water to heat it up. Walls are thin and you can definitely hear your neighbors. Starchy blankets made finding comfort a bit difficult. Want to go swimming? You can't unless you have a swim cap. Wouldn't recommend to stay long here. We stayed the night and it was fine for just that.

So much potential for this. The hotel is set up in the most confusing manner with room numbers making no sense. The elevator is in the back of the floors making anyone with luggage staying near the front to either haul the luggage up the stairs or walk out of their way there and back. If that isn't bad enough, the rooms are dirty! The bed cover had either blood or chocolate on it. Either way, not great. My view was of an area that was as if I were looking out on abandon buildings. The service in for meals was less than stellar...almost neglectful. Overall, no one loved their job and it showed. The manager should be relieved of his/her duties.

Responsive, so wonderful to feel like there is such a thing as customer service.... Emily was so helpful in accommodating our parents. She responded immediately to both emails, helped to do a little something special, and then followed up with some assistance to make their stay more comfortable... THANK YOU!! THANK YOU!!

The only hotel on this trip to have the audacity to want to charge a 10€ "tray charge" to deliver a pot of tea to our room. So I walked down to the bar, bought my tea for two, loaded up a tray with cups, milk, etc. and the staff actually watched me carry up my own tray of tea from the bar! No air conditioning in room either!

This one star is pushing it! Stained carpets no frills artwork, rusty pipes near beds. Absolutely nothing like the website. Will have all my travel agents remove from their list!!

When we arrived we told the receptionist we were staying for two nights and they insisted on seeing our voucher. Fine. Then we get to our room and the view is of the side of a dirty building. Okay. After that we lay on the bed to relax a bit before dinner, as we had had a long drive from our previous location. (Ocean Sands Hotel is amazing and The Pilot Pub was great) Immediately the batteries fall out of the remote. The heater in the room is leaking some liquid, the bathtub doesn't hold water even WITH the plug in and there is water damage in multiple places... So no romantic baths with the Mrs. The pool requires you to wear a cap which is purchasable from the store in the hotel. (Pay to swim basically) The WiFi is spotty and wasn't working at the time of writing this review. The walls are super thin and I can hear my neighbors (lots of US Military). I think the thing that really sticks in my craw the most are the fingernails I found on the floor of our room. If nothing else I expected some standards for how nice this place looks. The restaraunt Shannigans attached is a good metaphor for this hotel. Great presentation but bland and disappointing. If you're planning on staying here, don't. The wife and I are leaving first thing tomorrow morning to find better accommodations.

Meh....I'm gonna have a talk with our travel agent for this dousy. We had a very long walk to the room and got on an elevator that reeked of urine, like rotten urine from some idiot from the night before in a stuffy elevator with damp carpet. When we opened the door it was very hot, uncomfortably hot. We were able to crack one window about 4 inches, we were on the 3rd floor so the heat was just about unbearable. The shower was in a narrow tub that you had to swing your leg over about 3 feet to get into. It seemed a little dirty, there was nothing you could do to get the cloth shower curtain to stop touching you during the shower so I just pushed it back and hoped for the best. We left and had dinner about 15 mins out for a good 3 hours, when we got back we hoped the night air would cool the room....to no avail. There was a small fan we set up, we just got through it and left in the morning. This hotel needs serious upgrades, thankfully the stay was less than 24 hours.
