"El Gaucho, with outposts throughout the Pacific Northwest, established its roots in Seattle back in 1953 when its first restaurant opened downtown. The 1990s brought El Gaucho back to popularity, and in 2005, the restaurateur expanded by opening this boutique hotel in Belltown, just upstairs from its Seattle flagship. The inn features retro-chic 1950s decor, with deep leather sofas and rich warm colors. Of course, the iconic steak house handles the room-service menus. The many extras, like signature snacks in the minibar and fireside winetasting during the afternoon, are an extension of El Gaucho restaurant’s traditional, over-the-top service."

We love staying here. Rooms and service are impeccable. It's a small boutique hotel with class. Zara was friendly, attentive and filled us in on some El Gaucho history (Seattle Location). Susie was friendly and attentive too. Thank you for the great service, beautiful room, cozy fire place in the lobby... my favorite. We appreciated the shuttle service to El Gaucho properties but it was not clear with the staff the extent of the shuttle services to other non El Gaucho properties. We love the fresh baked chocolate chip cookies in the room upon arrival and put out at happy hour.

Nice, spacious room with a comfortable bed. I enjoyed the stay here. The front desk was friendly, free cookies and drinks were nice, loved the atmosphere of the room with the music playing when I came in. The only things I would prefer would be a larger bathroom. If I were with another traveler, it might be tight. A bathtub would be especially nice. Also, the room I was in was right next to the stairs and lobby. This made it feel a little less private than I would prefer. Overall, I would definitely recommend this spot.

Charming, warm vibe with great service! The free happy hour was especially nice with a good selection of wines and snacks and it was a great way to meet and chat with other guests. The rooms had been recently renovated and were really tasteful and comfortable, despite having a few teething issues (shower door didn't close properly, phone and didn't work), and the room could have had a few more finishing touches such as pictures (there were picture hooks), and a rug on the bare floor. Overall the place felt very warm and comfortable, and the service was excellent!

Love this place. We went for our anniversary and were waited on generously by every single staff person from check in to dinner, which was insanely delicious. Really great drinks, appetizers, and steak. Cute and cozy rooms which were remodeled recently and included great touches like heated bathroom floors and music playing when we got to our room. I am sure we will stay again.

Customer service is excellent - everyone (I mean, everyone) made us feel welcomed. The price was right for this centrally-located inn. Nothing fancy about this place, but very comfortable. We had an interior room, so it was very quiet for sleeping. The standard room was surprisingly large - comfy bed and nice siting area. I think a few things in the room could use a refresh, but it definitely wasn't too tired. The lobby was comfortable, yet small. If you're okay with a boutique hotel, you'll love this place. I plan on staying here again.

Besides the initial long stairs to get up, the place is really pleasing to be at. The ambiance is very cozy and chic. It's like a blast to the past. Guest service seems happy and are willing to make the stay memorable. Very accommodating. The room itself was roomy and comfortable. Has all the essentials. The bed floor frame area is in need of a proper vacuum just to make a mention. Bed was plush and warm. Would stay here again next time if I'm Seattle again.

What a lovely boutique hotel, in such a great location! I stay in the area twice a year for conferences at Bell Harbor conference center, so I've tried a lot of other options in the area. Super friendly staff, and I loved the complimentary wine in the lounge area each night (nice wines, too!). The room was very big, probably 3x the size of most hotel rooms, with 2 nice leather couches, quiet A/C, cool funky bathroom. They've done a really nice job of the styling and decor too. Price was great compared to the Edgewater and Marriott nearby, plus this place had a lot more style/cool factor :-) I'll stay here again, for sure.

Absolutely beautiful boutique hotel, blocks from the Space Needle. The accommodations were upscale and very comfortable, including the modern bathroom with a large shower incorporating a sitting nook as well as a waterfall shower head. There was a cookie waiting in our room as well as a lovely hand written note welcoming us to Seattle upon arrival. It would have been preferable for the check in desk to have been staffed when we arrived, since it did take a considerable amount of time for the attendant to get back to the desk after phoning their on-call number. The maintenance person also began walking the halls with a loud set of keys starting at about 7:30am, which helped us get going bright and early. The area seemed fairly safe and we get comfortable doing on street parking, which was easy with the Seattle parking app.

Yelp
If you are seeing a show at Madame Lou's downstairs and you are not a fussy bitch, this may be the hotel for you. We live on the Eastside and don't like to drive after a show so we booked a room at the Crocodile after a show. Had a great meal at Chan during restaurant week and then came back to the room and had cocktails before the 10:00 pm show at Madame Lou's.

Yelp
I booked a room at the hotel since I was seeing a show in the attached venue that night and it has spoiled me for any other event! So convenient! Great communication before I arrived. I was emailed and sent a text with instructions. Basically the hotel is on the second floor with a flight a stairs above the music venue. You are given a code that allows you access into the hotel and your room. No front desk employee but there is a number you can contact for help. Only 19 rooms with a pink and black decor, very comfortable and spacious. A lounge area and candy when I arrived at the lobby. A small room is available to pick up extra towels, lotion, fill water, borrow an iron, toilet paper etc. A microwave was nearby and I think complimentary coffee available in the mornings. If you book a room you can access tickets to that nights show. I heard soundcheck and while earplugs were provided I didn't use them. Simply go downstairs walk a few feet and access security check and or the box office for entry. On the night I visited a merch area, a large bar and even a water station was available. You can order food in the venue but I didn't this time. Plenty of cool nearby bars, restaurants and shops in the area. I took the Link which is like a monorail from the airport which is about a 15 minute walk away, one way ticket is $3. Incredible stay in an incredible city I would highly recommend! Thanks!

Yelp
While the pictures look nice, the hotel itself is pretty dingy. The rooms have thin doors that are pretty wobbly, thin walls, and old interior. The rooms are dark but if they were well lit, you would see how cheap everything looks. The one good thing is that staff are accessible quickly through email and phone which is good because usually there are no support staff anywhere. My husband and I joked that we were the only people staying there. The staff were nice when we were in contact with them. I would probably stay at a different hotel next time.

Yelp
Left a review for the venue not realizing this was split... but here goes... Bought tickets for a show and didn't realize there was a hotel attached to the venue. Looking for a hotel nearby, figured out that this is bundled with the Crocodile music venue as well as an assortment of other venues. Staying here the night of the show was the best choice we could have made. The room was super cool and chic, and the lobby bar area was also a cool vibe. It was clean, comfortable, and could not have been more convenient. Check in is more like an Air BnB than a hotel. You get a code sent to you that lets you access the hotel and your room. There is not traditional front lobby or bell staff, although they offer to assist with luggage if needed (must carry up two flights of stairs). We actually really enjoyed this as it was super easy to just go to our room. The one thing I wish was stated clearly (I missed it if it was) is that the room will not self lock when you leave. Easy enough to twist knob on the way out, but almost left our room unlocked on accident. The room is decent sized and the bed was comfortable. Most importantly, everything was very clean!!! Nothing felt grimy, all the linens were clean, and it there were no smells or anything off putting. The lobby has a bar and the staff was kind and pricing very fair (cheaper than the Grand Hyatt my wife stayed in for another show only a couple nights before by a lot). In the morning they had coffee out which was Vita brand and an assortment of flavorings or different milk to add. That was a really nice touch. Now all these good things stated, you just remember you are sleeping above a music venue. We went to a rock concert and you could definitely hear the music as the band was warming up. It wasn't obnoxious as we knew what we were getting into, but if you don't want to hear any music from below this may not be the best bet for you for stay at. They have this disclaimer pretty clearly stated on their website and do provide ear plugs. There is no onsite parking, but we were able to snag the lot across the street from 1700-0800 the following day for $25. At 0800 I moved to the street for $4 to park from 0800-1200. It was so nice to stay at the venue, and really the best choice for us. Made it easy to drink and have fun and literally just "walk upstairs" to a comfy bed. If you're seeing a show here do yourself a favor and stay!

Yelp
Please note, this is just our experience and I will say that the hotel does go out of its way to let you know that it can be noisy at night. We may have just had an extreme experience due to it being "Drake" night, but the room vibrates until very late. So do take note of the sound warning. We were there Friday night. That said, every thing else was great. The bed was super comfortable, I loved the decor and layout of the room, and as noted by the hotel, the bathroom was newly renovated and lovely. Location wise, it is perfect and a fun neighborhood to explore. We used it as a simple overnight to catch the Clipper to Victoria and it was a straight walk down hill to the clipper ferry - maybe 10 mins walk. We did bump into the staff and they were super nice and friendly. Lovely place and location, but the loud and vibrating music during our stay was a little more than anticipated. As an additional comment, if you are attending a show, then this is the place for you. Clearly the music will have finished when you crash for the evening.

Yelp
I was with friends and we got escorted out because a girl I just met took a shooter in the bar. I bought 6 tickets to the concert and had to leave 20 minutes before the show. Then we went back to our room that was in the hotel and got told we had to leave without a refund. I do not recommend this place or the hotel. The hotel was disgusting had roaches. The lady was super rude when I tried explaining my situation. She didn't want to hear it at all. I couldn't get a refund. Then she also charged me an additional 100$ on the room. For "damage" but couldn't tell me what was damaged or show proof. When I asked to see proof I never got a response. On top of that 215$ I paid to stay there, and couldn't stay there. So basically was robbed of 500$.

Yelp
A hotel unlike any other! My room was absolutely amazing! They have such a fun and unique spin with this place. All the rooms are different however I requested what I call "the black room" with a full dark theme. I was very impressed! My room was spacious and elegant, the bed and sheets were very comfortable, I slept so great. They really put a lot of thought into their hotel. Guest services were wonderful too! I was very pleased that I was able to check in early and get ready for an interview I had later in the day and they even helped me out with an iron and ironing board. The hotel lobby and the hallways are quirky too. I can't say enough great things about my stay. From booking my reservation, to checking out, this place was 10/10. I definitely plan to stay with them again when I return to Seattle!

Yelp
Awesome boutique hotel! Staff is great, rooms are fun and the bed is comfortable! I would highly recommend staying here! It's close to the cruise ports, music venue down stairs and restaurants and bars all within walking distance!

Yelp
Really cute boutique hotel. It's all self check in with codes. Pretty quite even though it is above the venue. I really liked the way the rooms were decorated and they were very clean and comfy. They do provide toiletries. I would definitely stay here again. It was also walking distance from pikes market.

Yelp
This hotel is one of the best in Seattle!!! We traveled all the way from Denver and had the best time. The hotel staff was beyond amazing by being very accommodating and communicated very well. The hotel was very trendy and extremely neat and clean. This hotel is also 21+only. The hotel has an underneath music venue, which is awesome especially if your favorite band is playing. Everything you want to do is within walking distance such as the space needle, public market, Piers, and so many coffee shops and bakeries. Great location. Great hotel. Great staff.

Yelp
NO ELEVATOR!!! I couldn't find any mention of this on their home page. The rooms are nice, but carrying 2 full-to-the-brim suitcases up two flights of stairs negates any positives. My husband managed to get our luggage up and down but hurt his back resulting in a pretty much ruined cruise. If you aren't able to manhandle your luggage up 2 flights of steps, don't book this hotel!!!

Yelp
Request ANY room BUT 19 ... Hotel was very original and trendy. After the novelty wore off my disappointment settled in... I purposely booked a "suite"; to guarantee a more satisfying experience for a higher price. Much to my disappointment, my room was located across from the lobby area. It was the only room to left of the bar and below the two sets of stairs you climb up to get to the hotel. This room location is meant for cheaper rooms, NOT suites. Noise is louder since the main lobby is right out front, hotel traffic passes by your door as people come up the stairs and guests sitting on the couch in the lounge area can see directly into this room. Privacy is not to be excepted. The room was unique as well as the crocodile artwork. Couch and chair was comfortable. Bed sagged, too soft. The bathroom had a heated floor which was a nice touch. Unfortunately the bathroom space was very cramped so this feature was barely enjoyable. I contacted the hotel manager and he offered to give me a refund to leave or find me a new room. My wife and I decided to stay since we were only staying one night and leaving soon for a concert. When we returned late at night our room was FREEZING ! Since there is no front desk there is no one to check in with if you have a problem. We turned the heat up to 89 degrees. It never heated up! After a closer look, I realized the four windows in our room were single pane.. which means they don't keep heat. It was like an icicle in our room and we were completely miserable. For what I paid I expected good room location, a decent bed, but most importantly... a heater that worked.

Yelp
Cannot recommend this hotel enough!! Perfect location, super helpful/friendly staff, safe and cozy. Truly made our stay in Seattle even better! Also a plus that the interior is SO FUN can't wait to come back and stay here again!!

Yelp
Pretty cool place, very friendly staff that has an eagerness to help, worth the money but there isn't parking
