The Sleek New Laguna Beach Hotel Casa Loma Plays Homage to the City’s Forgotten Past | Vogue

"Perched on a cliff above the main beach, the recently reopened 70-room hotel reads like a beacon, its crisp postmodern facade visible from nearly any stretch of the Pacific Coast Highway. Formerly the classic coastal Inn at Laguna Beach (a 1989 property), it’s been renamed and thoroughly reimagined by Electric Bowery with soft neutrals, warm wood, curved archways, natural textures, and open sight-lines. As one of the few hotels right on the beach, the Pacific is an obvious draw—visible from every common space, including the rooftop terrace and cliff-side pool, as well as nearly all suites and guest rooms—and the beach’s main walking path is just steps from the clay-tiled lobby bar. That proximity fuels an understated, barefoot charm: an onsite radio station spins vibe-y vintage surf songs, while hand-made art, tapestries, murals, and artifacts curated by LAND nod to the town’s creative spirit. Opening weekend featured an immersive, one-night performance by the Shonda Rhimes–backed IAMA Theatre Company—The Infinite Swell, inspired by local surf legends like Dick Metz—staged in six vignettes across the property, with Adam Shapiro, Katie Lowe, Rhimes, and Metz in attendance." - Christina Pérez

This Fall’s Most Exciting Hotel Openings, From New York City to Laguna Beach

"This beautifully reimagined property is both an homage to the area’s bohemian history, and a beautiful representation of its modern moment. It offers fantastic views of the nearby cliffs and Pacific Ocean, with custom bathrobes from Guatemala-based Luna Zorro, D.S. & Durga toiletries, and Tivoli Model One Radios with the hotel’s own custom curated radio station."

The 41 Most Anticipated New Hotels of 2024 | Vogue

"The former Inn at Laguna Beach will be completely transformed by Marc and Rose Hospitality along with their architecture and interior design studio, Electric Bowery. The new iteration, Casa Loma, aims to combine the bohemian European aesthetic of Mallorca and coastal California." - Elise Taylor

"Why we love it: A centrally located stay near Laguna’s best beaches, parks, and restaurants The Highlights: - A dreamy setting right above Main Beach - Delicious breakfasts and daily wine receptions - A location within walking distance of Laguna’s best restaurants The Review: Galleries, restaurants, and nightlife lie just steps from the Inn at Laguna Beach, while Heisler Park sprawls along the nearby bluffs, offering a place to stroll, see art, or simply lounge in the sun on a grassy lawn. Still, guests don’t even have to leave the hotel to enjoy sand, surf, and epic Pacific sunsets. Here, the 70 guest rooms mix modern comforts (European-style duvets, pillowtop mattresses) with coastal style (louvered shutters, rattan furniture). Some even include private patios or balconies, but all feature extras like newspaper delivery, iHome docking stations, and loaner umbrellas and beach chairs. Following a multimillion-dollar renovation in 2012, the Inn now boasts a more sustainable design, complete with low-VOC paint, renewable bamboo furniture, low-flow faucets and showers, tile made from recycled stone, and birchwood key cards. Not everything is paired back, however, especially the hotel’s signature breakfast, which includes artisan pastries, bacon brioche sandwiches, and bowls of fresh sliced fruit. Guests can also look forward to a daily wine reception, chilled milk and cookies in the lobby every evening, and cocktails at the Pacific Terrace Bar, which sits high above Main Beach. Best of all, the Inn is dog-friendly, so you can bring along your four-legged friend for a couple of days on the beach."

Google
The location is absolutely stunning, with a beautiful view that is clearly one of the highlights of this hotel. The property was renovated a few years ago and feels modern and well maintained. The overall design, however, didn’t fully match my personal taste. It feels somewhat generic and lacks a bit of character. The bathroom is not fully enclosed, which limits privacy, and the room itself did not feel particularly spacious. The bed — especially the pillows — was not very comfortable for me. On the positive side, parking was excellent, with two convenient parking garages available. The hotel offers only limited food and beverage options, but Starbucks and supermarkets are within easy walking distance, which helps compensate for that. Overall, a good hotel mainly because of its fantastic location and views, but with some comfort and design aspects that could be improved.

Google
Our stay at Casa Loma Beach Hotel was absolutely amazing from start to finish. The rooms were spotless and beautifully maintained, with a thoughtful design that felt both stylish and comfortable. The overall vibe of the hotel was incredibly unique—warm, welcoming, and full of character—which made our visit feel especially friendly and relaxing. It truly felt like a place where you could unwind and enjoy every moment. We loved our experience and would happily stay here again. Highly recommended!

Google
Location is stunning and perfect for beach access and for walking around. The renovation turned out beautiful and decor is charming and warm. Hotel is clean and staff was great. Couldn’t ask for more. If you want anything more as some of the negative reviews suggests, you simply have to pay more for stars. Don’t be swayed by the low reviews. We’ve stayed at a lot of luxury hotels and this one is great for the budget for the wonderful quick Laguna Beach weekend getaway.

We loved our stay at Casa Loma! The location is fantastic and we loved the new look post-renovation. The design gives a really calming feeling and the staff were all so lovely. Can't wait to go back, we had a tough time leaving such a perfect stay. Thanks again! :-)

Google
Casa Loma is the perfect hotel. The rooms are gorgeous and well laid out, the room service is quick and delicious, and the front desk staff takes great care of you. Its a very short walk to downtown and many wonderful restaurants. The pictures are views from our room.

Google
Loved everything about staying here- except the nickel and dime experience. |Rooms: super modern, great with well thought out details, comfy beds. |Hotel: spectacular location on the cliff above Laguna. Really nice pool and ambience. Delicious breakfast served in lobby. |BUT if you want a basic cup of drip coffee in the morning (they only have powdered coffee in your room) it’s $7 and they add on a tip! No refills. At breakfast we left a cash tip on the table since the front desk clerk delivered the meal to you- they scooped it up and added a full tip to our room bill. $70 a day to park. $40 resort fee. Then tax on it. |At checkout found they added someone else’s room service charge for $130+ to our bill in error. Took 20 minutes to resolve. So can’t quite give it 5 stars.

Google
Casa Loma is a GEM in Laguna Beach! The location is simply unbeatable. The back door of the lobby leads to the stairs of the main beach, and this feature alone would be enough for me, but this hotel goes above and beyond to give an amazing and luxurious experience. Staff is so friendly and helpful and the new welcome drinks are delicious. The beds are some of the most comfortable i’ve ever slept on and NOTHING beats their 4th floor terrace. I would sleep on the terrace if I had to LOL! It is cozy, private and breathtaking view of the pacific. Can’t wait for my next stay!

Google
A birthday present from my son. I will go back and go back again. It exceeded all my expectations, I never wanted to leave. The views of the ocean, location and wonderful staff made my stay magical! Thank you Maria for your warm hospitality, which will not to be forgotten. The rooms were spacious and so comfortable. As stated the location was just steps away from fabulous restaurants and of course the beautiful beach. See you again soon Casa Loma!!

Yelp
We stayed at Casa Loma Beach Hotel for a friend's wedding weekend and had an incredible experience. The staff could not have been more helpful--being able to text with questions or requests made everything so easy, and every interaction felt warm and thoughtful. The rooms were chic, cozy, and stocked with so many thoughtful touches. All of the food throughout the weekend was delicious (the daily cookies were a favorite!), and we loved that room service would deliver anywhere on the property. All of the weekend events hosted at the hotel were beautifully done, and the team made everything feel effortless. Casa Loma is truly a special place, and we can't wait to come back.

Yelp
Nicely remodeled hotel in a great location. The beach is at your doorstep. The service is friendly as we were warmly welcomed. The rooms are clean and spacious. The king size bed is great - firm mattress, great pillows (they aren't soft that they don't offer any support). The shower amenities are so good ... love the Debaser DS and Durga soaps. The location is also steps from downtown - tons of restaurants and shops all in walking /strolling distance. There were a few gaps between their website and what they offer. They no longer have a daily happy hour, but there is a welcome cocktail (you just may have to ask for it). There is a cookie happy hour from 6-7. The website mentions they are vegan, but the chocolate chip cookies are not. They are fresh and warm and so, so, so good. Grab one when they are warm and enjoy! It is an expensive place and parking overnight is a lot (per the other yelp reviews). I think the cost vs benefit of location is an important factor. We ate at restaurants that we could walk to and those were really affordable (sometimes shocking so, at least compared to Silicon Valley prices).

Yelp
Pros- Great central location, steps to main beach, nice amenities, cookies were bomb, room was aesthetically pleasing. Cons- pillows sucked, room was almost $700 for a tiny room facing the parking lot, additional fees were $40 for hotel fee, and $60 for overnight parking. Regardless if you park at hotel or underneath around the block. I get it's summertime and prices go up but the size of the room, comfort level, and parking fees are insane for the price of stay. We love Laguna Beach & we had a great time. Would stay here again, but would also try other hotels for price satisfaction.

Yelp
Our second time here and once again, we loved it! We highly recommend for anyone coming to stay in Laguna. Easy access to the beach and very walkable to downtown.

Yelp
We hosted our wedding weekend at Casa Loma Beach Hotel recently, and it exceeded every expectation. With guests flying in from across the country and around the world, we heard nonstop praise about how cozy, elegant, and effortlessly chic the hotel felt. The staff was incredibly accommodating--helping with portering, clear communication, and even a few lost-and-found rescues (thank you Amber!). Allene and Elisa were standout stars throughout the weekend helping us host several events at the hotel over three days. When a once-in-a-blue-moon monsoon forced us to pivot from our planned rooftop events, the Casa Loma team handled the change with grace and creativity, preserving the overall vibe we envisioned. Guests--both locals and out-of-towners--couldn't stop raving about the views and the unbeatable location. Some spent time in the cute nooks and crannies throughout the hotel or relaxed on their balconies with those unmatched ocean views (when the rain finally let up), while others wandered over to Marine Room for late-night drinks thanks to the perfect location. And of course, the food via Sapphire was amazing! We were able to check off all our boxes when it came to cuisine and transport our guests to all ends of the earth with food from the Mediterranean, Malaysia, and South America. The Late Night Bites of sliders, fries and chicken tenders were crowd MVPs at our Afters. We're already looking forward to visiting Casa Loma for our first anniversary. Thank you to the entire team for transforming a rained-out wedding weekend into the chicest group sleepover of all time!

Yelp
Disappointing Stay - Not Worth the Hype Casa Lola looks charming online, but the reality is far less serene. There's very little privacy -- thin walls and shared spaces make it feel more like a hostel than a boutique hotel. The property is noisy, both from street traffic and other guests. Worst of all, there's a lack of attention to detail -- from cleanliness to amenities, everything felt rushed and underthought. For the price, there are far better options in Laguna.

Yelp
We recently stayed at Casa Loma for an amazing wedding. It is such a hidden gem. The customer service, pillows, bedding - everything was perfect. The views are unmatched and was the definition of quiet luxury. We will staycation again 100%.

Yelp
Casa Loma is the best boutique hotel in Orange County! My friends hosted the most beautiful wedding weekend filled with amazing drinks and cocktails and the best customer service. The whole staff is helpful and accommodating. 10/10 would come back or host an event there!

Yelp
Suite 507 beautiful views, wrap-around deck separate bathtub and shower, It has a traditional record player, there's a little wet bar and refrigerator. Nice comfortable bed just need some drawers to put in clothes instead of open shelving. Also have to be careful of the bed frame itself. The wood portion of it is about 2 inches from to the floor so when you get close with your foot, you could stub your toes (which I've already done twice). The food is delicious, although it is a limited menu. Everything has just been really wonderful here. Staff is very friendly and helpful. It has underground parking that makes it easy to get to the rooms via elevator.

Yelp
We loved our stay at Casa La Loma! The location could not be better, just steps from the beach. Everything felt clean, new, and upscale, and the fresh cookies were a great touch. It felt very worth the money! Our only small hiccups were with the in-room tech. The Google Home did not connect to the TV, and while the hotel kindly offered to comp a movie, that function unfortunately was not working either. The other thing was that while the amenities are wonderful (beach towels, umbrella, rooftop lounge, lobby cookies, etc.), they were not really offered upfront. We had to ask about them, and honestly we would not have known they existed if we had not done our research, called ahead, and asked questions. Without that, our experience could have been very different. That being said, every amenity we used was excellent and added to the value of our stay. Overall, Casa La Loma is a beautiful and comfortable place to stay, and we will definitely be back!

Yelp
We flew in for the night from Florida for Mom's funeral. My sister's house was full with her 3 children, Mom's house is devoid of furniture and on the market, so, not wanting to be alone, I asked my cousin where she and her mom (Mom's sister) were staying. They said Casa Loma because of the view of the beach. Yes, the estate was paying for my room, but, I still did not want to be extravagant so I booked the least expensive room available. Right behind the wall of the top parking deck by the lobby entrance. Very convenient! They also were gracious enough to allow me to check in early! A huge blessing! Front desk staff was friendly and offered genuine, warm, condolences. The room was newly renovated, clean and the bed was comfy. After dinner, my cousin joined us in the hot tub which is easily one of the best hot tubs I have ever been in! After a restful sleep, we awoke to appreciate all the eco-friendly touches. The shower is beautiful with a short stool in the corner, and the provided shampoo, conditioner, and bar soap smelled nice. The water pressure was definitely "Cal-eco-friendly". Yes, it rinses you off, but, if you have issues getting all the soap out of your hair, I would recommend going to a local salon. The low-wattage bulbs in the room provided soothing light, but I would not recommend packing too many dark colored items because it might be hard to find what you are looking for. The picture window overlooking the walkway had a lovely curtain over it for privacy, yet still let in enough natural light to do your make up. We did not get much chance to explore all the hotel had to offer, but they are lovely people there and I highly recommend it if you can afford it.

Yelp
My husband and I have a long history with this hotel... or shall I say, The Inn at Laguna Beach, the former resident of this location. That said, it is by far my favorite location in Laguna Beach, now having stayed at several. I have noticed that many of the negative reviews come from the period of construction and renovation which was almost finished during out stay in late August 2024. As far as the location, it is along the main beach, a lovely walkway along the cliffs, steps from many restaurants, galleries and shops, and a 15 minute walk from The Pageant of the Masters. Truly,, it cannot get any better than that. This is really a small boutique hotel. I really like how the remodel worked with the style and charm of the original hotel. The hotel, which had always been quite charming, now has a fresh, mid-century modern look. Our room had stunning views of the ocean and overlooked the small pool area. I liked the retro speaker, the working rotary phone, the nice in-room cocktail glasses and cocktail shaker, as well as the working fridge stocked with fresh creamer for coffee, and complimentary water. The hotel itself, doesn't have a lot of space for amenities, as it is quite small, with no restaurant on premises. They do have a small bar, that is not fully set up yet. There, however, they do a wine and cookie reception from 5-6 each evening. We went the first evening and they had a nice selection. We sat out on the patio and enjoyed the. hour. In the morning, the bar area became a coffee and tea bar. Staff was very friendly. The pool area is small, but quaint. They have a small pool and a jacuzzi. I noticed that it had not changed from the Inn at Laguna Beach, except for maybe some added seating. Anyway, my husband and I decided to go to the hotel bar and ask to buy some wine in plastic cups to take to the poll. The staff member asked us to wait and then brought us back a couple of complimentary glasses to take with us. I imagine it is probably because the bar and the register were not set up yet, but it was a nice gesture. My only issues were with our room. First, because of the size, there was a very small closet area and a few small shelves, but nowhere else to put things like clothing or shoes away. I think that the dressers and drawers might take away from the style they are going for, but a little more storage would be helpful. Also, I noticed a few hairs under the closet and again near the shower. For some, they would have complained and asked to change rooms. For me, it was certainly not what I wanted to see, but it was minor, and I hope they pay more attention to cleaning. However, aside from that, the room did appear very clean. All in all, it was nice to be back in our favorite location. I think the remodel is quite lovely. I hope they keep some of the throwbacks to the former Inn. Aside from some minor details, I would like to return.

Yelp
This hotel is a MUST VISIT. It genuinely took me back to a European summer feel- 5 stars all around. The service was incredible, so attentive and authentic (shout out Dennis thank you so much and HBD!). Felipe, the manager, went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. The details Felipe and his team curated for our stay made us return customers. The hotel itself is SO beautiful, interior design on point, so eloquent. The views from this hotel are unbeatable, we spent a lot of time on the rooftop . There are so many good things to say it's hard to pick a few for this review. The location- wow. So centrally located in Laguna, you do not need to drive anywhere once you arrive. We walked to all our dinners and sightseeing. Thank you Casa Loma hotel for such a beautiful weekend! Felipe, Dennis and team- thank you! We will be back.

Yelp
My husband and I celebrated my 60th here yesterday. We stayed one night. I wish I could've stayed longer. The hotel is beautiful. I loved every detail. It's very peaceful and at night glows with the beautiful lighting. There are beautiful Plants everywhere. The staff were all very pleasant and attentive. I have to mention the welcome drinks and the food. Everything we had was not only pleasing to the eye, but tasted amazing. The pool was nice and private. The views from our balcony were unbelievable! I can't wait to come back! Such attention to every detail! My new fav hotel in Laguna beach.

Yelp
If I could give Casa Loma Hotel zero stars, I would. This place is an embarrassment to Laguna Beach. The so-called "management" is a disgrace, and the "customer service" is nonexistent. We arrived at 9pm, tired and ready to relax, only to be shoved into the absolute worst room in the building -- basically a glorified broom closet facing the street, loud and miserable. When we asked (nicely) to move to an oceanfront room -- which was clearly EMPTY -- the manager smirked and said we could "upgrade" for an extra $200. Seriously? That's not an upgrade, that's extortion. Any halfway decent hotel would take care of loyal guests who have been coming for years. Casa Loma would rather bleed you for every last dollar than show even a shred of hospitality. The management is rude, arrogant, and completely clueless about what it means to run a hotel. It honestly felt like they were going out of their way to make the stay as unpleasant as possible. The vibe here isn't "boutique hotel" -- it's cheap roadside motel with a view you'll never see unless you fork over more cash. Save yourself the misery. Casa Loma is a money-grabbing dump with terrible management and staff who clearly hate their jobs. Laguna Beach has far better hotels where guests are actually respected and valued. Casa Loma should be ashamed of itself -- but judging by how they treat people, shame is something they're long past caring about. Exhausted. Mattresses are fire tho.

April W.

Yelp
Beware of charges $70 per night for parking $40 per night amenities fee + tax $2 tourism tax per night $55.59 per night occupancy + tax $10.22 for a very small ice tea This hotel is nice but not worth these extra charges. Don't vacation in California at all. Laguna Beach is a dump
google avatar

Cindy H.

Yelp
My daughter and I have stayed here three times under the Inn at Laguna Beach brand. It is obviously pricey, and I meticulously watched dates and rates to get the most "affordable" price. The one thing that made the resort fee worth it was the rooftop complimentary wine hour and amazing view while enjoying the vibe. This was the highlight for us of each trip and a core memory for us as mother and daughter. We were looking forward to our next visit after the renovations. But now, not only have room rates become so insanely ridiculous that I don't know if we can afford to ever come back, but the resort fee I think is higher and they took away the wine hour??? This is so very disappointing and hurts my Laguna-loving soul.

Yelp
The location of this hotel is simply the BEST. Truly can't be beat. I love the casual feel of the rooms. Great vibe. Bed was super comfortable. Good linens and bathrobes! Love the new look.

Renee A.

Yelp
ABSOLUTLY NOT WORTH THE MONEY...for numerous reasons...70.00 parking being just one..They advertise concierge valet beachfront service which includes chairs and an umbrella we go to ask the front desk for that they make us do it ourselves no one would help us down three flights of stairs to the beach I have an injury and there was a man just standing there and didn't even offer we got down to the beach, we couldn't put the umbrella in because we didn't have enough strength and there was no chairs they what they said there was no chairs so we didn't get to have the day at the beach for $900 a night that we paid for to be on the water and then when I complained literally the words that came out of the receptionist mouth was quote. we don't have staff or the liability for that and I responded what about liability for your patrons such as me walking down 50 stairs carrying a full size umbrella that's ridiculous and she just stood there with it dead on straight face I'm sorry we can't accommodate you. We left.THE WORST...oh not to mention the phones didn't work the auto air kept waking me up all through the night the water pressure was horrible just do not stay here

Elaine T.

Yelp
I would have given it one more star because it was clean. The AC was very loud, while on auto, it woke me up through the night. The TV audio was hard to understand, not just because I'm in my 70s. For the high price of the room, they could have had softer towels. Over all, I would never come back.

Yelp
While the stay was very nice, I have to point a few things out. I will use a classy location like Days inn express to compare. Casa Loma charges you $65 to park after paying close to 300 for the room. Days inn lets you park for free. Casa Loma charges you for a cup of coffee, Days inn says drink up, we have more where that came from. Casa Loma forgot where they put the water pressure for the shower, Days inn says hang on to something, your getting clean. Casa Loma charges $45.60 for amenity fee, Days inn lets you use whatever they have on site for free. Casa Loma is running power with under fed gerbils on rusty treadmills to power the lights, Days inn reminds you to bring sun glasses to your room. Casa Loma lets you enjoy all the sounds and experiences of EVERY thing going on outside, public walks to let locals see into your rooms and the likes. Days inn over used sound dampening to the point you think your hearing is gone, and no one is walking by your room. next time i will stay at the Days Inn.

Ciara K.

Yelp
Room 435, at $350 a night in the winter. Patio has room for 1 kinda weird for a room for 2. Heater is broken loud and we didn't use it so we were cold at night. Didn't help the room is located with a door that is in the elements with a 2-3" gap letting more cold air in. I honestly loved the view and saw the difference in the renovation just think they forgot a couple important things.

Kira R.

Yelp
The newly renovated boutique hotel is gorgeous, with the most curated decorative touches. The staff is beyond hospitable and made my mom's birthday extra special with a fruit platter and sparking wine! We saw dolphins from our balcony and enjoyed the perfect view of the Laguna Beach coast! Highly recommend an ocean facing room (we stayed in 513). All around an amazing experience! The hotel is walking distance to the heart of Laguna. My parents have stayed in quite few places in OC and Casa Loma has been the best so far!

Adam M.

Yelp
My new favorite hotel in Laguna Beach. Beautifully renovated rooms with a great vibe and view. Well curated beverages in the room (highly recomend the El Guapo Margarita mix with Madre tequila). Staff was super inviting and they had some delicious room service dining options. You're also in the heart of the downtown area and walking distance to some of the best restaurants, art galleries, and beaches in town.

Yelp
We booked this hotel for the great location on the beach and close to shops and restaurants. The property is stunning even when under construction. We were not informed of this at the time of booking the hotel. There was no restaurant, bar, spa or any amenities. We were charged $30 per day for zero amenities. I typically do not dine in hotel restaurants, so I was not concerned about it, plus Laguna beach has many excellent restaurants blocks from the hotel. It is nice to be able to have a drink at the bar. We made up for it by purchasing Prosecco at a store and having drinks on the terrace at sunset. I think many reviewers would have crushed the place with 1 or 2 stars. Why the four-star rating? The place is in an amazing location and will be a stunning place to stay once the renovation is completed. The rooms are going to be beautiful. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Just make sure you are aware of all of the costs, parking, amenities fee, taxes and whatever. We will stay there on a return visit and cough up the big bucks.

Jay B.

Yelp
Taking everything with a grain of salt because of COVID, however I have stayed at 2 other hotels for work throughout this pandemic and this is by far the worst service I've experienced. On top of the inability to properly check us in without attitude from Alyssa at the front desk, there were a circle of flies in the lobby as well as some superficial flaws to our room that shouldn't exist considering the price. If this wasn't a 4 star on yelp and didn't have the $$$ then I would understand a lack of warm staff and the flaws in the interior, however for the price you're paying this hotel misses the mark.

Fimi A.

Yelp
Staff is unhelpful and surprisingly rude; wasn't expecting such aloof treatment from what appeared to be a nice hotel from the photos. Don't want to use the "R" word but they seemed exceptionally aloof towards us. Was hoping to find a regular beach hotel to frequent but this is NOT it.

MIke P.

Yelp
We booked a Top Floor King with a balcony and they showed us the room but the balcony was barely large enough to stand on. Although there are many top floor kings with balconies and chairs, ours wasn't one. We arrived early and asked if our room was ready (about 12:30) but it wasn't and they said they would text us. We went back there at 3:30 since we hadn't seen anything and the lobby was full of people waiting for rooms. We were the last to get our room Maybe they gave ours to someone else?). Once we saw the balcony, we asked to be moved to another room. We ended up on the 1rst floor with a balcony. The room was okay, nothing special. The hotel is in a very nice location with a good view. I do feel it is over-priced based on the room we received. We were told that there are 14 different room types but only 5 descriptions. We were not told that they have a restaurant or that there is a nice terrace with a view on the 4th floor. I have traveled to over 35 countries and stayed at 100s of hotels and I would say that it did not live up to its advertisements. The staff is helpful, but I think they experience many issues like ours. There are many other nice hotels in Laguna Beach, you might try them instead. Also, be advised that there is a $60 parking and $40 resort fee daily. You won't find this out until it is too late to cancel!

Yelp
Honestly, one of our favorite hotel stays. We loved the location being right on the beach and right next to Heisler Park. The staff was welcoming and friendly. Small issue at check-in was taken care of immediately and with professionalism. Delicious welcome drink at checkin was much appreciated. The views from the terrace are unbelievable. I loved the radio station that pumps delightfully out of the cool retro radio in our room. It's these types of small, stylish touches that make our stay exceptional. Don't forget to go up to the 4th floor to the outdoor patio - it'll become one of your favorite places!!

Yelp
My family and myself were recently about 2 weeks ago traveling for my daughters birthday in Laguna Beach, CA. We booked hotel Casa Loma Hotel for the night with a late check out 1 pm. Around 12:58 there was a knock at our door and almost seconds later the door swung open. In the doorway was a woman from the front desk. I am sitting there unclothed from the waist up and this woman is asking if we are checking out soon. I replyed yes, but I am obviously nursing my son and pumping I am standing there with my breast in my hand and this woman acknowledged she heard me and proceeds to just stand in the doorway of the private room I paid for staring at my breasts. I felt very uncomfortable about it so when asked to do a survey I put this in it. General manager replies stating he wanted to make it right then proceeded to just not respond further. I don't think this is appropriate behavior and I'm still 2 weeks later feeling very uncomfortable about what happened. I wouldn't return. I suggest if you want somewhere private to stay you pick another hotel. I'll note, They did not attempt to call the room, our cell phones to ask if we had checked out without stopping by the desk first... Just knocked once didn't wait for a reply and barge into the room seconds later. This is a complete invasion of privacy and honestly, I would have preferred to be charged if I was late to check out than be 2 weeks later uneasy about what happened.

Yelp
First off, the location was perfect if you don't want to rent a car. The beach and restaurants were all within walking distance. After arriving early, they said my room wasnt ready and asked if I'd like to upgrade to an ocean view room. I read that it was worth it, so I went ahead and spent an extra $300/night for a balcony and a view. Wrong move. While this hotel is on the ocean with direct access to the "main Beach", its not like you're in the Caribbean or the south of France. The water is dirty, and the beach is filled with seaweed. NOT worth looking at for $800/night. Lastly, the room was fine and clean. It was not a dump, but not appealing at all. bed was comfortable. Sadly, they don't serve food (very, very limited selection). and the pool service is not great. pool itself is tiny, with 3 cabanas, maybe 16 chairs? Teeny. Oh, and no bathroom in the pool area!! You have to go down 2 floors to use the washroom. All and all, decent experience. Would never spend that much money ($800/night), to over look a not so great beach. Actually would never stay or recommend this hotel. FAR too expensive for what you get. I've stayed in beautiful hotels for $800/night. this was more like $135/night hotel. At best. Oh, rarely look at my folio after checking out, they charged me $60/night for parking. i didnt even have a car. They did refund, but CHECK Yours.

Yelp
It has a stellar location and offers a swimming pool. Parking is also available. Our room was OK, didn't properly have a window (facing the pool with no view). I would definitely recommend ocean view for this reason. There was a good coffee machine, a fridge, and it was clean (although outdated). Its previous name of "Inn" (under which name this was booked) makes more sense as this is not a hotel (if we booked as a "hotel" this would only be 3 stars as there is no restaurant or bar).

Yelp
The only redeeming quality of this hotel is the location - right on the beach and in walking distance of everything. But overall, felt like a motel. Pool was small, no room service, poor quality shampoo/soap, and our car got keyed in the parking garage which is not locked over night. We asked the staff to check the cameras but they wouldn't get back to us. Would not recommend this place.

Yelp
Nice hotel near the beach in Laguna Beach. Front desk was accommodating and kindly gave us an upgrade after some issue with agoda. Room is decent and clean and view was ok. Cant wait to go back here again when the renovation is done.

Yelp
Beautiful location right off the beach and the folks that operate the day to day of the business from the front desk to the managers are nothing short of first class.

Yelp
This Hotel is currently UNDER CONSTRUCTION as it " rebrands" it's self from The Inn At Laguna Beach to Casa Loma.......but the same owners do not share this on there web page. THAT'S WRONG AND THEY KNOW IT. They also have not updated there info on Booking.Com. . They gave us the wrong room that we booked. We were supposed to have a nice tub and two beds. But they no longer have tubs. Thanks for letting us know. When we advised them of the mistake they did nothing. Getting back and forth to leave the hotel we had to walk through a construction site. Want a quiet day by the pool. ?....good luck. Hammering and drilling...... Lobby.....? There is none. You check in under the garage in a small room. Remember YELP rates this place as a " 3 STAR HOTEL. They are being very kind. Why would anyone pay $ 1200.00 to $ 1700.00 a night to stay here at this time. And PLEASE don't tell me to REACH OUT TO YOU......We did every morning and nothing happened.

Yelp
Everything was wonderful! The mellow music was awesome poolside and in our room. I love the retro look. The smoked salmon breakfast board was great delivered to the pool. The staff here is above par. Very happy experience for my 75th birthday! Thanks again Casa Loma.

Yelp
Wine on the house right at sunset on their roof top bar! Excellent vista of the ocean from rooms facing west. Rooms were excellent and bed was comfortable although a balcony would take it to the next level. I'm not sure they had that option but I think it would be worth it to kick in the extra bucks next time. You can access the beach easily as there are stairs to a walkway to a nearby park. There are many places to grab a coffee, lunch, or dinner. I'm totally impressed with this area as I've never stayed at Laguna overnight. I would say the best time to visit is in December because the weather was excellent and the traffic was minimal. I can see this place being a rat race in the summer and good luck with parking. Parking was challenging right before Christmas and most people should be at home...I on the other hand like going Rogue during this time of year!

Yelp
Great positioning on the beach! We paid 200.00 a night we thought but after checking out and getting home we were hit with a 40.00 parking fee and 30.00 resort fee bringing our stay to almost 300.00. The room was PCH view, noisy, cracked walls, ripped carpet, air cond sounded like a airplane. As Also the room was very small Felt like we fell for a tourist trap. Not even close to value vs cost. Stay away if your smart

Yelp
Just stayed here and paid over $1500 for a night. The lobby was in the parking lot due to construction, no one asked to help us with our luggage , and the hall ways etc was dusty and dirty due to some sort of construction. Not worth the money and I do not recommend staying here.

Yelp
Firstly not our first stay but first stay after rebranding. Once again location is the best. Rooms have been renovated and are very nicely done. The disappointing things are the "amenity charge" which is $35/day + plus tax this covers use of the pool and "WIFI" where in this day and age do you pay for basic WiFi in your room. In addition, self parking $45/night. So folks add $100 to your room charge. Additionally they have added a bar and food. I'm not even going to share prices but a glass of wine will cost you $20. You've been advised.

Yelp
FYI this review is mostly about Felipe! (More on that in a moment) This is a beautiful boutique hotel. Great staff, very clean, right on the water with a fantastic rooftop area. I have not stayed here yet but would love to in the future. We went here on a Saturday afternoon in January to check this place out as a possible wedding venue. It is very lovely and will be even better once all of the renovations are completed. As mentioned, this review is mainly about Felipe the General Manager. Felipe is a gem. He is a true people person. He made our visit to explore the facility so enjoyable. He was also super patient with us and had absolutely no problem when we asked if we could wait for the maid of honor who was unfortunately super late (coming all the way from Temecula with a baby). When she got close to the hotel but couldn't find it, he also went above and beyond for us, walking up and down the street, trying to help find her!! So nice! Who does that? When she did arrive and he was walking us around the hotel he kindly answered all of our questions, never getting impatient, making it all about us, our experience and what we wanted. I left there thinking, wow, he is such a great person, I wish Felipe was one of my friends! Lol! I truly hope Casaloma knows what an asset to their hotel Felipe is.

Yelp
This hotel is in the perfect location on the beach and has a super hospitable staff. Very warm atmosphere in the rooms and a nice pool area. Would definitely recommend for a relaxing getaway

Yelp
This place is a dive! Only good thing is that's it is on the beach. Toilet runs continuously, phone doesn't work. No water pressure, no hot water. No continental breakfast! For the price they charge per night it should be pristine!

Yelp
Recently got married at this hotel and had a magical experience from beginning to end. My wife and I were set on having a wedding in North Laguna Beach and were excited to find out that this small boutique hotel on an amazing hill with one of the greatest views was available as a wedding venue. After reaching out to inquire more we connected with Ari from the sales team who was patient and informative without being pushy. We met Ari and toured the facility and decided to move forward with the process. We were next introduced to the amazing Elisa who was in charge of wedding planning. From our initial emails to our initial video chat Elisa was sweet, responsive, positive, I can go on and on. Wedding planning can be a stressful experience but having Elisa help guide the process made us feel confident and at ease. Her energy and excitement was contagious. From helping test drive chairs to selecting the optimal number of heat lamps, Elisa responded to every question with enthusiasm. Fast forward to wedding weekend. We met Elisa and Ari at the hotel the day before our wedding to do early prep. We had a thoughtful card and flowers in our hotel room to greet us which was a great touch. Ari and Elisa made sure we were happy with every single detail including how the napkins were folded and presented. On the wedding day they were everywhere making sure everything was executed with perfection. The bartender, Juaquin, was also great and was able to master our signature cocktails and even stopped by our rooms prior to the wedding to make sure we were happy with the cocktails. Throughout the wedding he would keep an eye on us and would bring us drinks when we were running low. Last but not least the food was great. We had an opportunity to do a tasting prior to the event and the food was as good or better on our wedding day. I also found out that Kareem Abdul Jabbar was once a part owner of this hotel which was a fun fact I appreciated as a basketball enthusiast. We look forward to celebrating future anniversaries and events at this awesome hotel and would recommend it for any occasion. Thank you Elisa and Ari for making wedding journey perfect every step of the way.

Yelp
This is the worst hotel, other than a fantastic location. The hotel is old no amenities no view no patios unless you're in front of the pool except for the rooms in front of the pool, you are facing the street or the construction. The hotel did not let us know they were under construction and we paid $1200 for a room that we thought was going to be amazing instead we got, a budget room that should've been going for $200. There were stains all over the carpet that they tried to cover up with a rug, no radio no speakers no upgrades, the air conditioning was so loud and they had lights in the ceiling that were green that were motion censored so when the air conditioning went on the green lights flashed like a fire alarm. I would not recommend this hotel, so disappointing!!!!

Yelp
The year 2020 - it's been a complicated year to say the least and definitely one for the books. COVID-19 and social injustice has plagued the United States. It seems like every day is nothing but bad news. Needless to say, it's been incredibly difficult to feel safe or any sense of normalcy during these times. Morale and mental health has been at an all-time low for many people. I just wanted to do something special for my better half, to get away for a little while and just breathe. I decided to do something I've never done before - look for a beachfront/oceanfront hotel. Worst case scenario is that the beach is closed but we can still enjoy the ocean breeze from our hotel. As I was researching hotels in beach towns, I stumbled across The Inn at Laguna Beach. Now, there's no reason to stay at a beachfront hotel and not treat yo' self. You'd be a fool not to book an oceanview room - that's kind of the entire point. Neither of us had been to Laguna Beach before so this was an all-new adventure for us. There are two underground parking garages for hotel guests (one smaller than the other) and a handful of parking spaces up top for checking in. Speaking of which, checking in was a breeze. The staff were all friendly and masked up as were all the other guests. They had sanitized pens to use for signing in and respected social distancing which always puts us at ease (along with seeing them actively clean all the rooms/walkways thoroughly). The room itself was pretty much no frills. Upon entering there's a small bathroom with the sink outside, no microwave so plan accordingly, fridge that seems like it's not cool but actually is, bed, couch, and TV. But of course you didn't book a room here for the amenities - you booked for the view and my oh my! As soon as we entered our room 509, we were absolutely floored by the view - it's amazing! It's like a dream to look out your window and see the beach just outside. The shutters all close if you want less light and more privacy but we kept ours open our entire stay (and the people beach level can't see into your room unless you stand directly in front of the sliding glass door so feel free to be free). There's a smaller patio than I expected but it was still nice (and distant from our neighbors). Our room was just above the pool/hot tub so we heard families underneath us for quite some time along with people walking throughout the walkway. Neither were deal breakers as we got to listen to the sound of waves all night long. Considering on how much of a deep sleeper you are, this can be a blessing or a curse. I can't recommend The Inn at Laguna Beach enough! The beach is literally steps away from the hotel as are plenty of restaurant options. COVID-related - while all the staff and guests at the hotel were masked up and respective, pretty much everyone else outside were not. When we walked on the beach in the morning and explored the surrounding area, we were the only ones wearing masks so keep that in mind. Otherwise, regardless if you enjoy the oceanview from your room or if your venture down to the beach, this is a great place to stay and well-worth the cost for the views alone. Be forewarned though - it's really hard to fall asleep or go anywhere when you have such a great view of the sunset/sunrise from your room!

Yelp
Go here for the location as that is all this hotel has going for it. Despite a recent remodel the rooms are just okay. The entry door to the room had gaps at the top and didn't close completely and we could hear other guests in the hallway all night long. The bathroom door didn't lock and was missing the strike plate. Paint and carpet was new and the room was clean but was not amazing in any sense. If you plan to park in the underground then be very careful as the bump you drive over to get in makes your car bottom out. You have to drive in at an angle to avoid that. Service was average and the lobby is very small. This is not a hotel to impress anyone but it's location is right on the beach and that is the best thing going for it.

Yelp
We had a fun staycation at the Inn at Laguna Beach! We spent most of our time going to the beach steps away from the hotel. The hotel provided all items you need for the beach as well, including beach chairs, towels, umbrellas, you name it. The hotel welcomed us with a small bottle of Josh's red wine, which is one of my favorites. We settled in well with a glass of wine after driving down from LA. The service was great too - we had no problem checking in and out, the room service was quick for when we needed additional items like ice, and the hotel had a wine hour, milk and cookies in the evening, and starbucks coffee in the morning. Our room came with a Nespresso too so we opted for the nespresso. We booked the ocean view room and were on the third floor. The room wasn't too small but it wasn't extremely spacious either. The shower was really tiny, but for me it was fine (I'm 5'2"). For a weekend getaway, the room did us just fine though, and we definitely enjoyed the patio overlooking Laguna Beach! Thank you for a lovely stay!
