The Inn at Ole Miss's location can't be beat, and it oozes Rebel charm, but the rooms are dated and a bit scuzzy, and the interior needs a major refurb.
I arrived for a 2 night stay and was delighted at the excellent on-campus location, within walking distance of anywhere on campus, Vaught Hemingway Stadium, the arena, Rowan Oak and The Square. There was plenty of parking, and the staff are very friendly and helpful. However, the condition of the rooms was very poor, and made me feel I wasn't getting decent value for the room rate I was paying. The carpet was dirty, the chair upholstery was sagging, the bed and pillows had a locker room smell, the bathroom fixtures were old and decaying, and there was a bit of black mould in the shower. The rooms need to be renovated and the bathroom fixtures need to be replaced. If a major refurb occurred, the Inn could easily get over $175 per night per room when school is not in session and the customer would feel he's getting good value, instead of the $119 I paid and felt cheated out of.
