40 Best A-Frame Cabins for Fall Foliage, Winter Snow, or Summer Lake Days | Condé Nast Traveler

"Set in the Hudson River Valley, I found this three-bedroom A-frame—called “The Upstate A”—to be less like a typical cabin and more like a thoughtfully designed getaway, with spanning triangular floor-to-ceiling windows under a 20-foot ceiling, two remote-work stations, a bar cart, and space for up to eight across four bedrooms." - Alex Erdekian

The Inn at Pine Plains is in a great location, and the rooms are beautiful and clean. All that being said...the owner is not very nice. She did not make me feel welcome. We had my son's wedding at the Stissing House (Amazing!), and the owner was inappropriately nosy and found something wrong with everything we did this weekend. She made us feel very defensive, talked negatively to some guests about other guests. I have never experienced anything like this and have never written a review like this...so I do not take submitting these comments lightly. She put a damper on my beautiful weekend! I will not recommend this Inn, and I will not stay there again! So sad...

The Inn at Pine Plains is in a lovely part of Hudson Valley. My husband and I did the Rails to Trails from Millerton so the location for an overnight stay was ideal. The room was large and comfortable, as was the bed and nice towels. Cold breakfast was plentiful. If you're looking for an experience with warm and fuzzy hosts this is not it, but the staff was always pleasant and businesslike.

We enjoyed our one-night stay at the Inn at Pine Plains. The room (Smithfield) was super clean and comfortable, with a great mattress, soft rugs on the floor, a large bathroom with a walk-in shower, a desk and chair, and an armchair. Breakfast was tasty and plentiful and the coffee was excellent! We enjoyed chatting with Nicole at breakfast and with Patti upon arrival. Highly recommended.

Very friendly accommodations during our stay. We had a cozy and peaceful stay here. Would highly recommend The Inn for lodging during one’s journey of discovery through greater Dutchess County. Thank you Patti and Nicole for your wonderful hospitality.

We reserved one of the two bedroom suites on a recent trip upstate. We were expecting a nice place, but assumed it’d be a little worn given its age. We were pleasantly surprised at how well maintained, clean, bright and spacious the entire Inn was. Patti is a real-deal Inn Keeper and made our family feel right at home. The suite was amazing with modern updates (Roku TV with strong WiFi) blended with solid period furniture and warm blankets (no drafts even on a cold night). And breakfast the next morning is straight out of the movies: delicious assortment of food that you can eat family style at the big table, or grab a cup of coffee and find a nook in the next room for some quiet reading. Really just an excellent experience and well worth the price.

Yelp
Well, from my reviews, one can tell I get around. One of the places I found myself was the Inn At Pine Plains. Upon our arrival, I noticed the large rear yard. I could not enjoy it due to the fact it was raining pretty heavily, part of a strong storm system moving through the area. Upon entering the Inn, we were created by a friendly hostess who escorted us to our room and gave the usual intro. We were booked for the Silvenails Suite located on the first floor with a queen sized bed, fridge and its own private entrance leading to a small patio overlooking the large green backyard. The room was truly nice. One point I always emphasize for the establishment I stay overnight is the air quality. The room smelled great, and there were no unpleasant carpet smells or residual scents. There was also a dining area where we met some amazing people. Unfortunately, we could not enjoy the full breakfast. We were only able to partake in some coffee and pastries and headed for the day. I also had to mention the sound of the crickets at night. It was amazing to hear the sounds of the night as a result I had an amazing night's rest.

Yelp
The best B&B in Pine Plains. The staff is amazing. You've got to stay there. The location is prime and the accommodations are great. The continental breakfast was delicious and authentic.

Yelp
The Inn at Pine Plains is just like home thanks to the hospitality of Patti, the Innkeeper! Our room had all the comforts of home in a beautiful, well appointed room to fit the decor of Hudson Valley and promises a wonderful night sleep staying warm with a cozy down comforter and so relaxed on a dreamy mattress! We felt refreshed everyday of our stay! Let's not forget the delicious coffee and continental breakfast to start you on your day of traveling and sightseeing! Patti is friendly and so helpful to give you tips for the best places to dine in the area! She makes sure that you are enjoying your stay! Patti is truly passionate about being an Innkeeper and you will be most content by choosing the Pine Plains Inn in the hamlet of Hudson Valley!

Yelp
This place is a wonderful place to stay, we felt at home. I had a death in the family and went to the funeral and my husband and I stayed here. The rooms are very neat and clean, John and Patti who work there are very intelligent people to talk to, they were very helpful in any questions my husband and I had.

Yelp
I booked a room here for my Parents over the holidays as they drove back from Boston to Pennsylvania, and they were really impressed with the Inn. Nicely appointed rooms, great friendly service, very accommodating. Pine Plains is a lovely small town, convenient to the Berkshires and the Hudson Valley, and this is the best place to stay in the area.

Yelp
We came to Pine Plains to visit with friends. They recommended this place. Pretty, clean and comfortable rooms. The people here were friendly and accommodating. You can walk wherever you need to be in town. Location is quiet and over all just a perfect place to stay. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone.
