Really sizable room with a comfortable bed! We had a wonderful anniversary here and were impressed with the hospitality in our short stay. Special shoutout to the ownership (Kay in particular) who were particularly accommodating after a death in the family required us to modify our reservation on short notice. Great continental breakfast as well. Would recommend!

The Inn @ St Botolph is such a charming hotel in a great part of Boston. (Super convenient to Northeastern.) Great location, cute room with fun decor. The room had everything we needed. We’ll definitely stay here again. The lounge with breakfast is awesome- simple but everything you need. And good drink options like seltzer on tap! Note the hours for lounge since it’s not always open. The reasons Im giving it 4 stars is as follows: we heard our neighbors through the vents (or maybe thing walls) at 1am- literally every word! And we heard people hanging out on the streets at 6:45am- again we heads every word. It was a bummer since I loved the hotel otherwise but light sleepers should be aware. Also, they did have a gym but it’s tiny and very limited equipment.

Excellent experience. The team at The Inn @ St Botolph were incredibly helpful throughout my booking, and during the stay itself. Room was very clean and comfortable. Spacious and well furnished. Hotel is well located, within a couple of mins walk of a shopping centre and other amenities, as well as being about 10/15 mins walk from some main sites and areas of interest. |Despite being on the corner of the street and facing onto two roads, both are relatively quiet and the area itself is quiet too. |Would definitely stay again if I ever have to travel back to Boston, and would recommend to others too. |Thank you The Inn @ St Botolph Team.

We loved the location; it was nice to stay in a neighborhood. Close to many great restaurants. Appreciated the extra space - including a full refrigerator, sink, and microwave. The breakfast is light but fine. Free laundry was a bonus. Very comfortable beds and towels.

We loved this hotel! Our room and the Back Bay location at Inn at St Botolph were super, felt very safe, great value and the staff was so helpful and amazing. Hope to stay here again when visiting Boston.

absolutely loved the peaceful, residential area this hotel is located in—it felt like a serene retreat rather than a typical tourist spot. The rooms are spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated, with thoughtful touches that make the space feel upscale yet cozy. I stayed in a suite that came with a full-size fridge and a stovetop, which added so much convenience for a longer stay.||The continental breakfast exceeded expectations, featuring fresh, high-quality bagels and Nespresso coffee—a great way to start the day. If you are looking for a memorable visit to Boston, then it should start with a stay at The Inn at St. Botolph. My wife and I have been visiting Boston every yearly for over 20 years now. We found this gem four years ago and have made it a big part of our yearly October 2 week vacation. The inn is perfectly located on the border of the Back Bay and the exquisite tree lined brownstones of the South Boston neighborhood.|All points of interest are easily walkable from the inn. This 16 apartment historic building has four floors and has all the amenities of the highest class hotels with full kitchens and finely appointed furnishings but at very reasonable rates. The staff of Tom, Jordan, Mateo and Kaylyn are very friendly and professional and will even help with Boston adventure advice. It is truly the best place to stay on your visit to Boston.

Pros: Great location, easy check-in with all details in advance, kind lady in the lobby, free water/juices, and free washer/dryer. Cons: Room was spacious but dated (carpet in bad shape) and not as clean as expected.

This is an interesting place - seems like it could have been apartments previously. Our suite had a kitchenette, without an oven/ cooktop or dishwasher, but with a microwave, toaster oven, decent sized refrigerator, and coffee maker. The room was spacious, but the bed was small and the furniture was tired and worn. A lot of the carpet was stained with what might have been spilled bleach. The bathroom functioned well enough, but the shower grout was moldy and the wall was damaged (see photos). Parking is nearby - we paid $40 for overnight parking at the LAZ lot about two blocks away. You are walking distance to a lot of restaurants and shops in/around the prudential center. For nearly $450/night all in, I'd almost rather have a smaller, nicer room in a hotel with a valet/adjoining parking lot. Undecided on if I'd stay here again.

Recently stayed here for a concert at house of blues. incredible location, remarkable staff and the accommodations they were able to help me out with. They held onto my luggage all day till I was able to check in, and they held onto it after checkout so I could get breakfast before my flight. I wish I could recommend this place more but i'm scared of it becoming booked all the time and I won't be able to get a room. the rooms are extremely cozy, extremely spacious, room to have guests over before dinner if you need. the bed was like a cloud, the shower was perfect water pressure. thank you to the staff that I was able to interact with for everything.

I am leaving Boston tomorrow (boo) and have stayed at The Inn @ St Botolph for five days so far and I can't believe there is even one negative review for this place. The check in was was so easy as they just send you your codes a couple days before (it is truly the best of worlds between a hotel and Airbnb feel) you get there so we weren't worried at all when our flight was delayed and we got in much later than expected, we had all the information we needed to get to our room. The room itself was spacious and clean and they didn't miss one detail. The kitchenette provided everything you'd need to actually cook a meal, but we just stocked up on coffee, drinks, and snacks. The breakfast they serve complimentary daily is perfect! Oatmeal, bagels, teas, nespresso, fruit... The staff is absolutely amazing, they've been so helpful and friendly! From suggested restaurants, directions, and they even provide a washer/dryer to use which is so helpful on long stays. But the best part about this place is the location. We have been all over this city and most places we have walked to in 10-15 minutes, but the T is literally a block away for places a little further. Prudential Center is also just one block away so you have easy shopping and dining right around the corner. Sidenotes, the neighborhood is super safe to walk around. And if you get in late or just need something quick there is a 7-11 right across the street. I cannot recommend this place enough. It is an absolute must stay!

I have stayed at the Inn @ St Botolph a few times now and every time I do I am even more impressed. Top notch customer service and you can't beat the location. It is in close proximity to the South End, Boylston street and Newbury! The rooms are spacious & fitted with all the comforts of home! The shower is simply amazing!! I highly recommend it to anyone traveling to the city!!!

The Inn at St Botolph is in a historic brick building built in the late 1800s. It's located within a mostly residential area that's walking distance from the busy downtown area and historical sites. It's set up to have a feel of a vacation rental, not a typical hotel. The amenities and free continental breakfast were satisfactory. With that said, the worst (and most expensive/irritating) part of our stay was there's no parking offered at the Inn! They literally have NO parking, and only suggest parking garages that aren't affiliated with them at approx $40 a day. The closest one we found was a 10 minute walk away! This became quite expensive and annoying during our 5 day trip to Boston.

Comfortable, convenient, and surprisingly affordable. Look, it's the closest I'll ever get to living in a brownstone in NE, so that made me happy. Anyone complaining about noise has never lived in a city. Only very rarely did I hear street sounds (and damn is it a quiet neighborhood), and it was in the middle of the day. Do people expect an anechoic chamber, because that's the stuff of nightmares? Seriously. The staff is great--I was afraid I'd be speaking to machines that failed that Turing test, but multiple humans took care of my requests quickly and competently and at no point tried to wage robot war against me. I intend to return and will definitely book here again! It's an easy jaunt to Ernesto's (oh, and my conference), so I was pleased.

Can't wait to go back. We had a WONDERFUL stay at the Inn at St. Botolph. It's close enough to the Prudential Center and Newberry Street to walk, but it's charming and residential (and quiet - stayed at the Sheraton on a previous trip and it was NOISY!) We loved having the space of a sitting room, desk and kitchen separate from our bedroom. Loved the Back Bay/South End neighborhood - there are some excellent bakeries/cafes/restaurants and shops (Cafe Madeline, Greystone, Black Lamb, Atlantic Fish Company) just steps from the hotel. We got a small taste of living there. Service was excellent and accommodating. Is the furniture a bit worn? Yes - but so is the furniture in most busy hotels. The bathroom is small. The kitchen is stocked with everything you would need (minus pot holders and wine glasses - though we did have champagne flutes). The internet is fast. Our biggest challenge - the trash can isn't big enough for a 4 night stay. I hate recommending it so highly for fear we will never get a reservation, but if you're looking....choose this one.

Although the location was great, our experience was a little disappointing. The furniture in the sitting room was horribly uncomfortable. Both the loveseat and chair were lumpy and old. So uncomfortable that we spent time lounging on the bed instead. I had also requested housekeeping service on day 2, but they never showed, and by the next day, both our trash cans were overflowing. I had to ask a second time on day 3, and thankfully they came later that day. For the price, I expected better. I doubt we will be returning

Perfect location. Lovely, stylish clean room with kitchen and free washer and dryer in the basement. Breakfast was ok but there are so many amazing options within walking distance ie starbucks, flour bakery, Tatte cafe etc.Will definitely come back if the price is right. The only problem I could foresee is luggage storage. That is if you arrive very early morning or have a late night departure I don't see how they can hold your luggage since you won't be able to enter the hotel building (you enter the building by an electronic key code that is active only during your stay).

This is one of those places that you almost hate to review for fear you won't be able to get a reservation. It's beautifully located and walkable to many great destinations. The room was impeccably clean and really well appointed, right down to paper towels and dish soap in the tiny kitchen. Staff were super helpful. The light breakfast was a big help, and there are a couple of markets nearby to stock the kitchen. The bed was exceptionally comfortable. The Inn@St. Botolph might be the perfect hotel!

What an awesome place! I stay everywhere in Boston every 2-3 weeks, and I have to say that the Inn at St Botolph is simply ...... KEWL!! Prior to arrival I was sent instructions and timing on the electronic keypadded front door and room door. Everything is pristine clean, comfortable, and you almost feel like this is what the world would look like if it operated at complete efficiency, with limited need for humans that annoy you at the front desk. Yes, yes, I know some of us like that milk and cookie greeting as soon as you walk in the front door, but sometimes, I really don't want to deal with another person for no other reason other than I'm feeling bitchy and probably am not going to positively contribute to society that day. The Inn is efficiency at its best.... something I hate to admit Boston is seriously lacking in any hotel that isn't luxury class. But no fear! The Inn is here! Love this place and highly recommend it.

I am fascinated by the Inn at St. Botolph: it's a fantastic little place, tucked in where people walk by and don't even realize it is there. Prices are on par with hotels around it, and are even a little less since you are not paying for the "extras" you may not need (pool, valet, Concierge, etc). If you are looking to stay in an original building in an authentic neighborhood - but still have all the modern conveniences a block away - this is for you! Extra kudos: I recommended the Inn to a friend who was attending a huge conference at The Westin, but didn't want to be with all the conference attendees. I knew I wouldn't see him, so I sent an envelope with suggestions for restaurants, running maps, etc. For whatever reason, it arrived the day after he departed (um, thanks USPS) and rather than return it to me, the Inn forwarded it to his office in Milwaukee (so he will be all set for a return visit).

We stayed at the Inn over New Years. It was a great experience. When you book a room, the Inn emails you a code to get in. That means that they do not need a front desk. However, the do have an office downstairs which otherwise serves many of the same functions as a front desk. The staff we met down there was super friendly, very helpful and went out of there way to make us feel at home. The many positives: - Awesome location, write next to the "T" (prudential center station). Extra bonus as this line takes you directly into downtown. - Also, right next to the prudential center, if you go through and come out the other end you'll also find yourself a block or two from Newbury Street and a lot of great shops and restaurants. - Kitchen with 7-eleven across the street means you can have a midnight snack, wam up some tea in the morning or otherwise make yourself at home. - Again, great staff. A few things that could be improved: - rubber floors in bathroom are a little weird, would prefer tile, though i imagine there is a purpose. - heating system can be a bit loud But overall, small minuses to huge plusses. Stay here if you're visiting boston. Like home away from home.

Do not book this hotel! They say they have free cancellation 1 month before your stay. They charge you in full and then will not reimburse you when you cancel! I have called multiple times and spoken to the manager and they always have multiple excuses as to why you can't get your money back. The credit card machine is down, the post office, etc. They are very unprofessional in their customer service. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else!

We booked a (1) night stay for a quick business trip to Boston after reading reviews. The price was great, the reviews were great, the location was great, the pictures looked great.. BUT Be forewarned on their ambiguities regarding the cancellation policy which were presented with different inexactness. At booking the reservation noted 2 policies which were a bit contradictory on the confirmation : Here they are verbatim : CANCELLATION POLICY: Reservations cancelled up to one week prior to arrival date are refundable in full. Guests canceling within one week of their arrival date are responsible for the full booking amount. 2 sentences below this the following is noted: Reservations cancelled 48 hours prior to arrival date will be refunded in full. Guests cancelling within 48 hours of their arrival are responsible for the full booking amount. Hmmm.. wondering about this I shot off an email asking for clarification.. I wrote, "what is your cancellation policy"? The response was as follows: "Hello, Full refund will be honored up to 2 weeks BEFORE arrival.Anything cancelled within 2 weeks, but not within 50% refund. Cancelations within 48 hours of arrival or day of will NOT be refunded" Hmmm . Contradicts the first contradictory policies. I called and really really had a rough time getting the clerk to provide straight answers and the conversation turned a bit harsh,(which I contributed to)... ANYWAYS:: we ended the debate with a cancellation 12 days out.. (we cancelled on line and the nomenclature during that process indicated outside 48 hours was the needed time for cancellation.. WHEW! WHAT A POOR PRESENTATION! So, we obtained accommodations elsewhere .. I'm sure, (by the reviews and pictures, is a very nice boutique small hotel), but we will never know... If a hotel has changing inadequacies in their reservation policy it throws up a big enough flag to me to turn and walk away.. We just noticed that we received full credit on our credit card .. took a lot of time to get thru this... so, good luck, we hope, if you stay there, you have a great experience! The place looks lovely. 2 stars cause we couldn't take a risk on inept behavior regarding their "policies". Oh well!

So here's the thing. Maybe, in a perfect world, there would be a magic room that appears just off the lobby with a full-size commercial kitchen where our lovely staff could make an incredible hot breakfast replete with scrambled eggs and French toast and cascades of bacon and waffle irons and all the biscuits and gravy your little heart desires. But it is not a perfect world, and so we must appreciate what we have, which in this case, is one of the most amazingly beautiful and humble (though only on the outside) inns you can imagine. In this real/magical place, your rooms have *full-sized kitchens!* where you can make your own French toast! and scrambled eggs! and bacon. And hell, even waffles if you brought your iron along with you. For my purposes, that is more than what I could ask for. I was here in March for a national conference and hadn't wanted to book one of the overpriced conference hotel rooms, and I like being a bit further from the conference craziness if possible. It didn't disappoint. There was the gorgeous lobby where the staff was happy to leave me to hang out until my room was ready, catching up on email on their Mac while I waited for a friend, drinking an incredible café au lait, made with the Nespresso machine. Even grabbing a snack from the mini fridge. I loved getting my bagels in the morning and my yogurt and my really awesome coffee, which, let's be honest, eclipses any other hotel's continental breakfast coffee. But I go on. The room was fantastic. The day I finally turned the TV on, I realized that I had radio! So I picked a station and listened while the snow was falling outside. The bathroom was great. The bed was comfortable. Everything was gorgeous. I loved the key code. When I had a friend staying for the last night, I was able to give it to her so she could leave her stuff when I wasn't there, and we didn't have to worry about exchanging keys. The location was very good. Oh, and the first day I got there, the people at the counter recommended an incredible diner just a block or two away which was exactly the kind of place I'd been hoping for. On the day I left, the girl wrote out directions for me to get to the airport with which lines to take. The staff went above and beyond, and I loved everything about it. I will definitely be back next time I'm in Boston.

Inn @ St Botolph was perfect for a weekend getaway! Location is in the heart of the city - close to a 7-11, restaurants, malls, bars, you name it! Customer Service was super helpful in lending us items we forgot to bring. We also left our bags with the front desk for a few hours post-check out so we could explore the city more. The room was spacious, modern, and had everything we needed! Also, the keyless entry was unique as we didn't have to worry about losing/using our key card and only had to punch in a simple code. Would definitely stay again and recommend to a friend

This was a nice stay, but definitely has it's drawbacks. Pros: Location. Gorgeous location, right next to the Prudential Center. Kitchen: Full kitchen- perfect for extended stays Keyless entry: No check in or check out- I got my code and got right into the room. Cons: Beds: If that was a Queen bed, I'll eat my shoe. My husband and I got horrible sleep- no room to move around and the pillows were rock hard. Carpet: Carpets were brown and dingy. Looked dirty. Breakfast: worst continental breakfast ever. Price is good, would stay here again.

Great little place, in a perfect location. Very accommodating and helpful staff! Perfect for all types of traveller. Had to stay a little longer due to snow, flight got cancelled and postponed for two whole days. Tad in the office sorted out another two nights for us without any hassle. We then managed to get on an early flight the following day and we were refunded for the second day without any problems. Very courteous of the manager to do so. I would definitely recommend this place when in Boston, especially if you don't like the mundane process of checking in and out of a hotel.

I was so happy when I walked in the room to find it so unique and clean with a kitchenette that had everything you'd need. When you book a hotel you've never been to or heard of, you can easily go wrong but I was pleasantly surprised and very satisfied with this choice. This place was great for a few reasons: You book a room and get a pass code you use to enter the building and enter your room - no need to check in or checkout (at least not that I knew of) Very clean! Especially the bathroom, thank god. Aforementioned well equipped kitchenette Comfy and unique looking bed Overall a great place for a spur of the moment romantic getaway

There were definitely some nice things about this Inn, but I wouldn't stay there again. I booked it due to a combination of price and location and I can't take away any credit for those 2 things. And my room was really cute.. The bathroom is small and cramped, but not a big deal. Here are the issues I had that will prevent me from returning or recommending it: - When I arrived I went to the desk (which I had to figure out where it was) and said that I was here to check in. It was 2:40 and check-in is at 3:00. He rudely said, "Ok, your code will work in 20 minutes or I can assign you a new one." Call me crazy but I thought a nice, more hospitality oriented response would have been -- "The code we assigned you isn't set to start working for another 20 minutes but I'd be happy to reset it if you'd like to get into your room now." No bueno. - Both the door to the bldg and to your room are keyless entry and for some reason, my code wouldn't work at the front door. Everytime I left the bldg I'd be locked out and would have to get buzzed in, then go to the desk (in the basement, not right when you walk in) and get it reset. Then it would happen again. On one occasion it was 11pm, cold and starting to snow. There is no one on staff in the bldg after 10 so I had to make a phone call and wait 10 minutes to get in. No bueno. - When we got to our room we tried to inflate the air mattress we'd requested and it was broken. A call to the number provided had me on the receiving end of someone saying "well, no one is there so there's nothing we can do about that." After a super fun night for one of us sleeping on the floor, I reported it to whoever was on duty at the desk. "Thanks for letting me know, I'll be sure they know to throw that air mattress out." And, "I see we didn't charge you for it anyhow." No apology or acknowledgment of what a big inconvenience that was. No bueno. - As their policy states, they will only clean your room if you hang the tag on your door requesting it. I love that because I don't actually like someone coming in if it's not needed. So I didn't hang the tag .... but I got back to my room to find the cleaning crew had been in there. Instead of replacing the towels, though, they just took them all off the hooks we'd put them on, folded them up and put them on the rack above the toilet. Now we couldn't decipher whose towel was whose. Oh, and no one was on staff after 10 to give us clean towels. No bueno.

We stayed here for our second time in October of 2017. This inn is located in a great central place in Back Bay, Boston. Easy walking distance to both the green and orange lines of the metro. You can also walk to a super market, which is very convenient given the small kitchen included in each room. I enjoy that the rooms have a separate living area and bedroom area. The hotel is very upfront about the fact that they only offer cleaning services once a week, but touch up service is available at request. You don't need to check in or out as a code for the doors is emailed to your before you arrive. Free wifi. The room was clean and well pleasantly put together. The mattress was comfortable, and we slept well. There is some minor noise from the suite above, but this is a hotel/apartment, so that's to be expected. Any time we had questions the desk staff was friendly and accommodating. Will stay again next time we are in Boston.

Not your typical "hotel". it's a little home away from home. if you don't need to all the amenities of a typical hotel i.e. front desk, bell service, room service, valet, etc and are more independent and like privacy this is the place. i have stayed at least 3 times in all types of rooms. my favorite is the one bedroom with a fireplace...yum so cozy. close to everything you need in the backbay area or an easy cab or public transpo ride. ill be back again soon

I thought my dear family, visiting from out of town for a week, would have a more comfortable experience at the Inn rather than staying at a big hotel nearby. Boy was I right! I've decided I will make this review a series of bullet points: - Each suite is very nicely decorated, modern and business-cool (if I can use that home-made description). - The individual codes instead of keys are awesome! - Complimentary breakfast downstairs (coffee, bagels, yogurts, juices, nice!). Also a TV for news and a Mac and couches to sit on. - Wifi throughout! - The staff was very friendly and helpful - There was a private and comfortable feeling to the place that I don't get at hotels.. it felt like a hip B&B.. - Every suite has a little kitchen and coffee-maker and big TV - Superb location - around the corner from the T, the Prudential Mall, and a 7-11 (open 24 hrs!) - If you live in the Back Bay area, seriously consider this place instead of a big hotel chain

What a spectacular place. The staff was super, the rooms were awesome, clean and comfortable. This place really has the panache and would love to meet the owners - it's classy to say the least. Stay here - it's worth every dime!

Overall, this is an excellent hotel. The business model is very interesting, with no check in or keys, but it works well. My group stayed in 401, which is the room with 2 bedrooms, a living room, and a kitchen. The master bedroom is excellent and has a nice flat screen on the wall. The bathroom is excellent and has a luxurious shower. The living/dining room is well decorated, has a fireplace, and a big flat screen. The kitchen is ok. Given that you're in a hotel, it's very good, but we could have used some more kitchen equipment since we did cooking in the room. It's great that the staff does the dishes for you though, a big plus. Make sure to tip the housekeeper since she does a great job. The secondary bedroom is a little more problematic. It has no TV, and the beds are actually separate trundle beds, not one big bed. However, it was ok. The continental breakfast is very small and it would be great to see that upgraded a little. The espresso machine is great though. Fast and easy. We did not receive chocolate truffles, which I was very disappointed about. We also asked for a late checkout, but they were only able to give us 1 hour extension, which was another disappointment. The gym is very small. If you want a treadmill, you got it, but if weight training is your thing, you will have difficulty getting a thorough workout I would definitely stay here again.

I loved our fourth-floor mini-suite at the Inn at St. Botolph. The room was clean, good temperature controls, gas fireplace. The location is in a beautiful walk-able area of Boston, right at the border between Back Bay and South End. I like the entry system where you get a keycode for the building and for your room, it completely avoids both check-in and check-out. I'd definitely stay here again.

Spoiler Alert: First World Problems I travel regularly for work and usually don't write reviews for hotels, but there were just so many little annoying things about this place: - You have to punch a ten digit number at the front door just to get in the building, and then more numbers at your actual room to get in there. After a long day of meetings, news flash, getting back to your room should be easy (keycard technology people!). I don't want to feel like I'm breaking into Fort Knox to sleep. - No travel-sized toothpaste available for guests who forgot to bring (like me) - Shelf with towels randomly collapsed while I was brushing my teeth (with toothpaste I bought at 7-11), sending towels into the toilet. - No pressing service for suits/shirts, which is important for business travelers On the plus side, nice decor and nice lotion. Again, first world problems... now back to my Starbucks, Uggs boots and iPhone...

This is arguably the ultimate hidden gem for Boston. The building, landscaping and neighborhood illicit classic Boston charm. Spacious rooms designed beautifully with every amenity for long term stay: Easy access with privacy from your key code entry system, cool art and interior design, friendly staff on property, breakfast room, gym, etc. I could easily make this place my permanent home in Boston.

Didn't even have an opportunity to stay here, because they were incredibly rude on the phone. I needed a place to stay for a few hours the other night, and called to see if they had any rooms available. They said they did, I walked over there to rent the room. Only to be told upon arrival that they do not, in fact, have a room available. AFTER I had spoken to exactly the same woman about 10 minutes earlier to rent their $250 room. I had said it was for right now, for the rest of the night. If they hadn't understood, they should have asked. I didn't appreciate walking over there, only to then have to go to another hotel. The Hilton was far more accommodating. I don't care how nice the Inn may be, but I don't appreciate being jerked around...and not even an apology. Forget it!

A great inn in the midst of Boston. We went here because I insisted not to have anything franchise-y, I'm a slut for a fireplace, and it wasn't on the bed bug registry. Stayed in a ground room floor because it was the cheapest and felt like we were staying in a studio apartment. There is a kitchenette with real life dishes! Eat that Westin. The fireplace is perfect for a winter snuggle, there's a sitting area, four posted bed, slate bathroom floor, it was great. The only area to improve on St. Botoloph is the lighting, it really does suck, either you have to deal with weird lights that are too bright only in one spot or lots of very small desk/reading lights that aren't bright enough, this made the room feel dim, which was a shame because it is an awesome room.

This is a very nice hotel and it's also an excellent value. This is a different kind of hotel. They don't have a typical front desk. Upon booking this hotel, they will send you a confirmation email. You should record the pass codes contained in that email. if you forget then you will have to use the intercom at the front door to call the hotel office located in the lower level of the building. If they're taking an office break then you might not get in! There are no room keys - you must enter a six digit code to get in. We booked the 2 bedroom suite. Each room had a flat screen TV. The wireless internet worked great (and this wireless pass code is also in the confirming email). The entire suite was well decorated and everything was first class. The complimentary breakfast was spartan, however, they have this super cool lazy man automatic espresso/latte machine that produced excellent coffee. I didn't use the work out room but it looked nice. Staff was friendly and helpful. Location was attractive. Not far from downtown. There is functionally no parking near the hotel, but then I assume that many will be taking a cab around Boston. Whenever I return, I will stay here again.

This Inn is the best kept secret in Boston- such a gem! Anyone that wants to enjoy the heart of Boston, walking distance to fabulous shopping and just about anything that Boston offers will love this place! Wonderful tucked away place, rooms are spotless, exceptional service and the keyless entry is easy and safe. Highly recommend it to anyone that travels to the heart of the city- whether on vacation or business!

We stayed at the inn in late April and LOVED it. The location is very convenient to transportation, shops, restaurants, parking garages, etc. Having a kitchenette with a stove, microwave oven, fridge, and coffee maker was perfect for us. It instantly gave us options as to whether we wanted to eat out or to eat in. Eating in was a choice between getting takeout or cooking. The kitchen was fully stocked with glasses, cups, pots, pans, dishes, bowls, etc. There was a table, which could have been used for a dining table or for a desk. The bathroom was clean and stocked with towels. The bedroom was very nice. At first glance the bed looked like it was going to have been uncomfortable, but we were quite pleased to find that it was very comfortable. We both had a great night's sleep, which is frequently not the case when we stay at a hotel or inn. There is a Shaw's supermarket a short distance away where we were able to buy food and alcoholic beverages. We are going to be staying at the inn again in the near future and are very much looking forward to it.

Kiana and all the girls at the front desk were so sweet and accomodating. The service and location was an exceptional experience with the convenience of the MBTA within a short walking distance. The area is in a cute neighborhood tucked behind the Prudential Center. The serve Davids Tea and ended up walking to the store on Tremont street. Once again thank you to the lovely staff. Decor and amenities were well stocked.

I don't think I need to repeat all the positive things people have said in other reviews; my five star rating should be be sufficient. A few points that others haven't made, I think, or at least not to the degree I think called for: 1) I was in room 102, one of the street level units. It was remarkably well insulated from outside (street) noise; even the fire trucks which seemed to go down Newton fairly frequently (is there a fire station near?) were no big deal. 2) Transportation there is simply excellent - the Prudential T station is around the corner, and taxis seem to use Newton a lot (convenient if you don't want to take your stuff down to Huntington). 3) The bed was incredibly comfortable, with linens the like of which I've never had in a hotel (that includes an upgrade suite at the Ritz Carlton in Washington DC, probably the swankiest normal hotel room I've been in). I'm sure the brilliant and inventive Yelpers can come up with extra advantages of the four poster bed design. 4) I didn't get a chance to put it to use, but the kitchenette equipment set is remarkably complete. You could easily cook and serve a nice dinner for a small group (say up to four). 5) Street parking in the vicinity is limited to Back Bay resident permits after 6:00 pm if I recall. That can be a problem if you have local people coming in to meet you (I was nervous about some friends being parked 40 minutes over; luckily, no ticket). A couple of nits: 6) The bathroom is severely lacking in shelf space. Form did not follow function in this one instance; an oddity since the rest of the room is so well designed. 7) The bath is a single person size (or two slender, flexible, and highly intimate size :), though quite fully functional with jets 'n things. This was irrelevant to my stay :(, but it could matter to somebody else. It really wouldn't have been difficult at design time to have included a wider bath, though a longer bath might have required too much reconstruction. 8) A little bit of fresh fruit as part of the continental breakfast would be a very nice addition.

Great hotel. Good room for the money. I stayed in their smallest room, the studio. I enjoyed having a kitchen and the 800+ sirius/cable/movie channels were a definate bonus. The hotel is quiet and about a block off the main street in a residential area. You can catch a Cab by walking half a block. There's a 7-11 right next to the Inn which made buying toothpast and snacks very easy to do. I didn't have any problem with the keyless entry and ascribe their lower rates to the lower overhead because of some of these advancements. The concierge is offsite but when you call them, they are tentative, polite, and extremely helpful. The hotel has a common lounge that is very chic and usually stocked with fruit. There's also an apple computer for use with a free printer. Also, free wi-fi throughout, no problem. If I had any complaints its that there is no room service (which probably saves you money since they don't have to pay a chef and kitchen staff) but they do provide phone numbers for local eateries that will deliver (which, by the way, are some of the best restaurants in town). Also, no bathtub in my room...which I didn't really care about anyway. But it's a great room for approximately $200/night in downtown Boston. I'm going there again next time I stay.

Glitz. Glam. And, smells like a garbage can. A work colleague and I routinely travel to Boston for business. Normally, we stay at a small reasonably-priced inn in Cambridge, but, for our last trip we decided it would be prudent to reduce our commute time and book a hotel in the Back Bay area. We did our online research, read reviews, and made reservations at the Inn at St. Botolph. Nestled on a side street in the prestigious neighborhood, the inn is actually a series of row houses that have been reconfigured into small studio apartments. Entering the premises was easy -- a key code was provided by email -- staying, was a herculean effort. Upon opening the door to room/apt #102, my nostrils were bombarded by the most putrid smell of death/decay that one can imagine. I was instantly nauseated and my eyes began to water. I immediately went to the inn's office (they do not have a check-in desk), reported the fetid atmosphere, and asked to switch my room. I was informed that the inn was completely booked and that the most they could do was to have housekeeping re-clean the space. (It's important to note that I was never offered a discount or refund.) Housekeeping's concept of "re-cleaning" the space was dismal. Scented powder was scattered onto the carpet and then "vacuumed." When I entered the apt for the second time, I began to gag on the combined stench of perfumed powder and decay. I demanded that housekeeping open the windows (in the dead of winter) to air the room. I also demanded that the heat -- which had been set to 80F -- be turned down because I was fairly positive that the initial stink had been escaping from the heating vents. (After careful contemplation, I am 99% positive that an animal died somewhere in the heating system and it's rotting carcass was being thoroughly cooked.) Housekeeping complied to my not so polite requests and then departed....and conveniently left someone else's trash in the center of the room. The room aired for several hours as my colleague and I ate a lovely dinner at a local french bistro. When I returned, the perfumed smell of powder had somewhat dissipated but the noxious stench of decaying flesh was ripe. Since the hotel arrangements had been set on the corporate card prior to traveling, I was stuck for the evening. I tried to make lemonade out of lemons and sat down on the sofa to watch a few minutes of television while breathing out of my mouth. As I sat, I turned my head to gaze at the empty seat beside me and saw what looked like blood stains. I jumped up and in a frenzy checked the rest of the apartment. Blood stains were also on the shower curtain. Thoroughly disgusted, I put myself to bed keeping as much of a barrier between the linens and me as possible. I awoke, shivering, at 2 am. I doubled checked all of the windows to to make sure I had closed them completely and then inspected the read-out on the thermostat. The room was 58F. Unable to disable the digital lock on the heating system and undo the clearly 10 degree preset loss in temperature, I went back to the inn's office...which was closed. Short of calling 911, no number was provided for emergencies. I trekked back to #102 and searched every closet and cabinet for an extra blanket. None was provided. I half halfheartedly slept with a complimentary bathrobe and two extra bath towels which had absorbed the odors in the room. 7:00 am the following morning I was rudely awoken by the radio clock which had been set by a previous tenant. I made my way to the bathroom in the hopes of washing the stench away. My hopes were quickly squashed. The shower in the bathroom had two nozzles -- one was set lower for handicapped accessibility. What I discovered was that only the handicapped shower-head worked and it was partially broken. When the knob to access water was fully turned...only a trickle of water came out of the shower head. In short, I paid $160+city tax for consistent discomfort and filth. I could have saved money and tent camped with the homeless.

My son was hospitalized and they would not let us cancel because of their "strict" policy. I urge everyone to avoid these heartless people.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this place. Everything was wonderful here. From the location, it's so easy to get to from the Airport. It is like a block from the Metro/T. The staff was super friendly. Our room was very cute, just the right size for us. I loved being in a neighborhood while still being close enough to all the shops. It was also very reasonably priced compared to other Hotel's when we searched. I plan on staying here the next time we are in Boston.

I had a wonderful stay here last weekend with my fiancé. Walking distance from the Train station as we took the Acela from NYC. Next to the prudential shops and Newbury Street. Short walk to Fenway So cute, very clean and quiet area. The decor was a breath of fresh air. Chevron patterns are always my thing!

I've never stayed at a more peaceful hotel in Boston. The decorations were trendy, moderate, and comfortable. I had everything I needed, including access to my room as soon as I got there via an access code, and it's very conveniently located.

Spent close to a week at the Inn on a recent business trip and once again loved my stay! I've said it before and I will say it again - this is my home away from home and I truly enjoy staying here and do feel at home. I was there over a weekend and for most of the work week - was able to move in and get comfortable! Thanks again to everyone there - will be back again soon!

I love the Inn at Saint Botolph because it is a true boutique hotel. Lovely furnishings, and a modern approach to everything that the business traveler needs. The hotel is on a quiet residential street that offers all the charm of an old Boston Neighborhood, and yet is literately around the corner from the Prudential Center shopping mall and the Green Line T - station at Prudential. It is easy to get to any part of Boston from the hotel, and it made my business schedule possible. The room was immaculately clean and tastefully decorated, and offered all the amenities that I could have desired. The heat was well-controlled by an in room thermostat, and the room was warm and cozy, even with the large bay windows and the 16 degree Boston Day. I will definitely return during my next Boston stay.

The Inn is one of the best we've ever stayed in anywhere. First, it' was quick and easy to find and get to the place, just a few blocks off the Mass Pike. The neighborhood and premises are historic, quiet, and excellently maintained, and there's plenty of reasonably-priced and convenient public parking just a few blocks away. Our room facilities were very clean, very well-furnished and would be wholly serviceable for longer-term stays. The online registration and key/front-desk-less building access is convenient and efficient, but we were pleasantly surprised that staff also promptly made themselves available by phone, email, and face to face onsite to provide assistance. This time were visiting Boston for just a weekend-- and we'd certainly make the Inn our choice for furture visits. The next time my professional work brings me to the city for a working visit this will be my first choice for the stay.

If you're looking for a back bay location that is classy and full of charm then the Inn is the best spot for you. We stayed over the weekend and the staff was very accommodating and the room was very clean. Shops, bars and the T is blocks away! Highly recommend this Inn and hope to stay again soon!

You can't beat this place. Checked in on Christmas and stayed a few nights. It had more of a home feel than a hotel feel, which was great. The people are friendly, the breakfasts are exactly what you need, the little gym room has the nicest exercise equipment I've ever used in a hotel. A few days before we arrived, got an email from the manager welcoming us and giving us a free upgrade. That kind of stuff goes a long, long way. The Inn has a deal with a parking garage a block away; park for 30 bucks night. Can't complain about that; parking in Boston is brutal. This made it easy. We'll definitely be back.

Another fantastic stay at the Inn @ St. Botolph! Very reliable and easy check in (entry codes get emailed to you). Convenient to attractions, restaurants and shopping. Caring and attentive staff (Sarah is very sweet and helpful; Tom, the manager, is accommodating and efficient). Clean and comfortable rooms. The fireplace is the best part! Our stay was fantastic! The 2 bedroom suite has more than all the comforts of home; 2 bedrooms-1 with king bed the other sleeps 2, large living room, kitchenette with all the kitchenware needed and full modern designed bathroom with big walk-in shower. My favorite feature was the intercom system. You could see the person at the front door on the intercom screen in your room and buzz them in the front door from your room. So convent to not have to go all the way downstairs, how amazing!? We would definitely recommend!
