Landscaping was amazing! It was nice staying right on the campus. Rooms were comfortable and the restaurant/bar was a pleasant surprise, great bar with a nice bourbon selection. Breakfast buffet was $16 and there were lots of options, we got one plate to go to our room and it was enough to share. Solid coffee in the morning in the lobby. Fitness center had brand new equipment. Made for a great stay when delivering our son to VT for his freshman year. Wildlife right outside our window too!

Google
The staff are excellent! Great reception welcome and check in. The room was very clean and spacious, with beautiful views of the grounds. Had pre dinner drinks at the bar — great ambience and service. Had the buffet breakfast—inexpensive for the quality on offer and the service was once again excellent. My new go to destination when at Virginia Tech.

Google
This place was really great! The rooms were large and well appointed. The surrounding land was beautiful. Everything was super clean. In the morning we enjoyed a nice breakfast buffet. I would recommend this hotel in a heartbeat. Looking forward to return sometime.

Google
Our stay here was incredible. The room was wonderful and the front desk staff (Jay and Marley) were phenomenal. They helped us find restaurants, enjoy our stay, and when we accidentally left my daughter’s bear in the room the hotel staff found it and safely returned it. I will continue to come back to this hotel whenever staying at Virginia Tech. The location is also extremely walkable.

Google
Stayed at The Inn during our trip for the Virginia Tech campus tour. It is amazing location especially for the campus tour, rooms are nice and spacious, staff is pleasant and friendly. Had breakfast buffet - good food, so much variety at affordable price. Highly recommend it.

Google
Great stay. Super convenient for a visit to Virginia Tech. Was able to park and just walk over to the visitor center. Hotel looks pretty cool. The room was standard...nothing fancy. But it was clean and spacious, beds were nice, etc. I'd stay here again. I imagine the prices fluctuate, but when I stayed the price was better than all the Marriotts!

Google
Rooms are good. Ut little dated as well in most rooms the AC and fridge seem to have issues. Have stayed in many rooms over the years and found same issues but staff are always very helpful and nice. Preston's the restaurant off the lobby is something you might want to pass on to save your money.

Google
The floor was softer than the mattress. The restaurant is great for breakfast but dinner is so-so. The staff is very friendly and helpful, if it wasn't for the torture device masquerading as a bed, I would give it another star.

Yelp
I was here for a conference in March. The Inn is very pretty, as is the rest of campus. The stonework is gorgeous. I thought this was a very nice place for a conference. The "continuous service" between breaks was great. I enjoyed the food items on that service bar, which included wasabi, nuts, walnuts, granola bars, yogurt, pretzels, and other goodies as well as drinks. The box sandwich for lunch wasn't anything special, and a bit disappointing. However, the buffet dinners were both terrific. The meat was tender and well cooked, and the pasta sauce was very nice. The lamb shepherds pie was delicious. Everything was hot. Unfortunately, the place was booked, and I wasn't able to get a hotel room at the location and had to stay at another nearby hotel, which was inconvenient to have to keep going to the parking lot for various items.

Yelp
I love staying here when I get the chance to spend a couple days in Blacksburg. It's very close to Virginia Tech and to Downtown Blacksburg. I've stayed here a couple times, and it was a pleasure both times. The beds are nice and comfortable, and, most importantly to me, the rooms were not noisy. The staff was very nice, but I didn't have any problems during either of my trips. I hope I can stay again soon!

Yelp
Accommodations were great. Staff was great. There for a symposium. Everything was top notch. Recommend the ITV to you all.

Yelp
Always greeted with a a friendly welcome. Rooms are very comfortable. If you are in Blacksburg I highly recommend staying here

Yelp
After attending school at VT, I had come to the Inn many times for sorority events and banquets but this was the first time I stayed here. We came in for my little sisters orientation and stayed for two nights. Pros: Big rooms, AC working great as the room was so dang cold. TV has tons of channels and the wifi actually worked great, which was nice since I had to do some remote work. The Inn was providing free shuttle around town and on campus and I really liked utilizing this as it saved us some money on Uber or dealing with parking around campus. The front desk staff and all staff I encountered were super kind and hospitable. Cons: rooms are definitely dated. The bathrooms in particular could use a facelift and just the rooms in general. This is one of the classic hotels that a lot of people stay at and I think if they spruced it up a bit, people would pay even more to stay here. Also the food at Preston's is just OK and nothing out of ordinary. I think it would be nice to have a coffee shop onsite too! Great stay and hope when they stop utilizing some of the rooms for students (due to overcrowding) I will be able to visit again!

Yelp
The proximity to campus cannot be beat! I jumped on the early bird special pricing for my son's move in and thought the price to be very fair, though I know it can change depending on the weekend. The hotel decor is a bit dated, but it is clean and had everything we needed. I think improvement to some of the smaller touches would make a big difference. The bathroom was lacking a bar of soap for both the sink and the shower. The coffee in the room was bitter and terrible. I recognize that these things are not necessities, but they add a polished touch.

Yelp
Nice hotel. I did expect better. Restaurant food was ok. Bar is rather small but adequate. Floors and hallways seem worn. But rooms were pretty updated and clean. I guess I would give rooms themselves 4 stars but the hallways / dining 3 stars. Don't expect a high end hotel. But do expect a very convenient location. Especially to the visitor center.

Yelp
Great stay dropping off son at school. Greet you with ice cream and water. Rooms are clean and new. Nice lil bar area.

Yelp
They haven't really renovated, but the hotel is better managed and better maintained since I last visited. The staff this time were excellent by providing information, opening doors, changing lightbulbs in the hallways, etc. Even if you are traveling alone, I recommend booking a double room (same price). You get a smaller bed, but you get a larger room with no awkward "connecting door." Apparently the hotel restaurant, Preston's, is great, but it wasn't open for dinner on Sunday. :-(

Yelp
I'll start by saying that conference center is actually great - many different rooms of all sizes, great for business conferences. The bar and restraunt are also pretty nice. However, I found the rooms to be very lacking. They were fairly dusty, and the walls are paperthin. It's quite disconcerting to be able to hear every word, cough, etc, from your neighbors through the night. My neighbors TV sounded like it was in my own room, running until about 1AM, and I was even woken up by someone else's alarm clock as if it was my own. I would enjoy going to this hotel as a conference center again, but I will never book a room here again.

Yelp
We enjoyed our stay at the Inn and would definitely stay here again. I booked thru Hotwire so was not sure what we would get and still wasn't sure until we arrived. I called a couple of days ahead to ensure we had 2 beds in the room since I could not tell from the HW reservation. Ironically the guy who took my call remembered my name and the conversation!!! Nice customer touch point. Very Nice hotel and located near restaurants so getting a bite to eat was quick and easy--- walking distance. The staff was friendly and helpful. Beautiful grounds and open landscaping. We were here on a non game weekend which made everything go much smoother and moving around less cumbersome I'm sure. We did not try the hotel restaurant. Enjoyable Visit!

Yelp
We went in to our stay at The Inn not really knowing what to expect from a "college" hotel. We were nothing but pleasantly surprised! Tristan at the front desk made out stay even better! He was welcoming, warm and really was enjoyable to talk to. He made sure we knew where we were going the next morning for orientation at VA Tech, made sure we knew where to get the transportation available to go to dinner that night and basically took great care of us! Jay, who drove us to and from dinner was also wonderful. All in all this was a very solid hotel. It is not fancy but is very comfortable and clean. Much better than I had expected and we would definitely stay there again!

Yelp
My husband and I spent the night here after photographing a wedding. The front desk staff was very friendly and accommodated an early check in. Because we photographed the wedding we got a peak at the bridal suite, the holding rooms, the reception space, the courtyard, and a regular room and I was impressed by everything. After a loooong day on my feet I was very pleased to find that the bed was super comfy. I would certainly recommend a stay here if you are in Blacksburg.

Yelp
I have stayed here about half a dozen times as it is the most convenient hotel to VT. I have had pretty good experiences but for the money you expect simple things like flat screen tvs especially since the hotel is relatively new. The rooms are just fine no real frills but typically the people at the front desk are very nice which help offset the bland interiors. We were leaving Friday morning and were saying good bye to one of our freinds Thursday night and the night person decided to come out and yell at us for being too loud. I think he handled the situation very poorly and i was surprised by his brazen attitude when all we were doing was saying goodbye to a freind. His lack of tact has made me think about not staying here again there are nicer hotels in the area for sure.

Yelp
This place is probably the nicest hotel in Blacksburg. Only a couple of years old, you could easily mistake this place as another dorm or class building, considering the stones are the same as used on campus. It was built on the old golf course and is across the street from the Holiday Inn Select. We really enjoyed our stay here. It ended up being the same price as the Courtyard, so we definitely pleased that we got to stay here. The beds are super comfy and the room service for breakfast is not badly priced (10 bucks per person!). The rooms are adequately sized, pretty good sized bathrooms. There's plenty of parking. We didn't try the restaurant on site, but we had heard good things about it from other people. We will definitely go back to this place next time we're in Blacksburg!
google avatar

Shira P.

Yelp
This was our second visit to the Inn and it proved to be consistent. The shuttle was super convenient getting to and from the basketball game and the bed was comfy. The exterior is beautiful, but the rooms are pretty plain. If you're looking for a clean, friendly and convenient hotel - stay here!

Yelp
This was a nice place to stay while visiting the Virginia Tech campus. The room itself was your basic hotel room, but it was clean and in a good location. The hotel wireless was EXTREMELY slow, which was a little annoying, but the staff were all very friendly. We didn't try the restaurant so can't comment on that, but it was nice to walk to everything on campus from the hotel. We ended up checking out a day earlier than planned since the freshman orientation was over by noon rather than the 5:00pm that was advertised, and they still charged us for the third night since they have a 24 hour cancellation policy. That was a bit of a drag.
google avatar

Joey M.

Yelp
Nice clean hotel I am not quite sure of the amenities (if any are offered) because I was here on a business venture BUT I do know that they have free WiFi and that they have a shuttle service into the town
google avatar

Ashley O.

Yelp
The staff here truly does a great job being hospitable. When we first walked in we had two gentleman opening the door for us and greeting us upon entering. The check in process was fast and easy. The rooms were very clean and the beds were very comfortable. We stayed here for a wedding that was located in their ballroom. The wedding was wonderful. The bar tenders were great and fast at making drinks. They were doing perfect pours too so they were giving the right amount of alcohol. The food was served buffet style and I was truly surprised by how tasty everything was. It would have been nice to have an on premise pool, but they tell you that you have to go to the schools pool which is weird! The campus is absolutely gorgeous too.

Yelp
I had a lovely experience here! Making a reservation was very easy and getting my room took under 5 minutes. Checking out was even quicker. Everyone working here was always more than willing to help out. I always got great service. They also offer rides to various places on campus which makes it easy to get around. My room was very clean and luxurious. the entire place is lovely! I was very happy with my stay back! Highly recommended!!

Yelp
Have stayed here several times. Good location BUT here this weekend to celebrate my sons birthday and found we can not get the VT away football games at the hotel. Hard to believe. It's the Inn at Virginia Tech. It's absurd that the game is unavailable. Well into the 2nd half, someone has gotten a laptop hooked up to one TV in the bar. Front desk staff is fantastic though. As is the restaurant staff. Just, for the price and being on the campus of Tech, with any VT parents and alumni, you'd think they'd get the games.
google avatar

Gina J.

Yelp
Friendly staff and spacious rooms. Good place to stay if you're traveling for an event at VT.
google avatar

Deborah H.

Yelp
Excellent hotel and we hosted a brunch here after my daughters wedding and they were organized, professional, made good recommendations and the food was good (better than the average hotel fare at a meeting or event). It is fun talking to the employees many of whom are either going to school for a service industry degree or recently graduated from VT. It is one of the most expensive places in town but not more than what you would pay back in DC or Atlanta.
google avatar

Shep H.

Yelp
There are 3 hotels within walking distance of the Tech campus. I haven't stayed at the new hotel on Main, but this is way better than the Holiday Inn across the street. I usually don't spend much time in a hotel room, but these are clean and the shower and TV are adequate. There is a museum downstairs that I have been in twice. I have no idea if and when it is open to the public, but I have found the door unlocked a few times. It's normally pretty quiet, but every now and then a wedding party migrates down the halls, but hotel security usually hurrys them along if they are making too much noise.

Yelp
Our organization held our annual formal dinner at the Virginia Tech Inn for what must have been the dozenth time this year, and the team there continues to impress us with their professional behavior, their excellent food and beverages, and their commitment to ensuring all of our attendees have a great time. Our event has grown to a size that can only be accommodated by the Inn, and we are very fortunate that they provide such a great opportunity for us all to get together year after year.

Yelp
Our second stay on campus and the staff couldn't be better. Everyone was friendly and helpful from housekeeping to shuttle driver. This is the only place we stay in Blacksburg
google avatar

Fuel M.

Yelp
No complaints here. Staff is friendly, rooms are nice. Building is beautiful.
google avatar

Bridget R.

Yelp
We were pleasantly surprised with this hotel. It really deserved four and a half stars. The hotel staff (customer service, shuttle driver, and hospitality) were very friendly and helpful. It was clear that customer satisfaction was their number one concern. Pros: Cost (we booked through Hotwire, only paying $66), Customer Service, and a wonderful shuttle driver Cons: Bathroom tub/tile needed a good scrubbing, shower curtain needs a quick wash We would definitely stay here again!
google avatar

Mike Y.

Yelp
Visited the area for a conference and even though the hotel wasn't the best the conference center was hands down amazing. Rotating snacks during sessions, well prepared lunches... This place does it right! The rooms are reasonable and roomy with nice bathrooms, but nothing out of the ordinary. The service by the staff brings this pace to 4 stars... for you Hokies looking to book at graduation, word is out be prepared to do it when the open for registration... Also be ready for some steep rates!

Yelp
Wonderful stay. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Love the look of the exterior of this hotel. It's very convenient to all things VT. Great restaurants as well! See my room tour here: https://youtu.be/s0XJQj8RB2k

Yelp
Convenient location right on the campus of Virginia Tech. Really enjoyed my stay here. Staff is very friendly and accommodaring. Had a king room which was spacious and clean. The bed was so comfortable, I had a hard time getting myself out of it each morning. Preston ' s restaurant on site has the best dining in Blacksburg, and the bar was a great spot to enjoy the craft beer on tap and catch the March Madness Finals at night. Overall great experience and I will be back.
google avatar

Holly C.

Yelp
If you are going to spend the night at a hotel for Virginia Tech, then stay here! You can just walk to campus!
google avatar

Chris S.

Yelp
Very disappointing. We were looking forward to staying at The Inn during our visit to VT. The lobby area and exterior are very nice, but the rooms are mundane and dated, Wi-Fi is basically unusable, and the AC barely works. Not at all what we expected, especially given the high price. Virginia Tech, my Alma Mater, should be ashamed to put their good name on this hotel.

Lee G.

Yelp
We had our wedding in Blacksburg and booked a block of rooms at The Inn. All of our accommodations were exceptional. Our guests are still raving about the hotel! The staff went above and beyond, from helping us with our many bags to drying off seats after it rained. The shuttle also helped a lot of our unfamiliar guests get around the area. They even helped us out with soccer and footballs when some friendly pick-up games broke out on the patio! We could not have had a better wedding or stay at the Inn. Thank you!
google avatar

A B.

Yelp
Got a better price and had better service this time. It made it worthwhile.
google avatar

Michelle C.

Yelp
Very nice place to stay. Excellent service at front desk. Concierge will arrange shuttle to town if you need it. Only drawback- you won't really need to be here if you aren't doing business in some way with Virginia Tech. Not much in town to see or do if you aren't included in whatever business your significant other is doing on campus.
google avatar

Angie M.

Yelp
well, its nothing special. The price seems average to me. whenever ive traveled this is the price range i pay, so no big deal there. the room is average size, I had a king bed. Theres no fridge, the wi-fi sucks, I get absolutly NO cell service in the building. There was a coffe pot in the room, No continental breakfast, although Near the lobby I did discover a little coffee station. No free paper. No pool. There IS a very nice gym, not just a treadmill! It has dumbells of various weights, not just girly sizes, two types of bikes, elipticals and other weight machines, towels and a water cooler, two tvs. and a few rubber mats, and inclined bench. pretty awesome. I didnt check out the business center. The place IS Beautiful. I usually stay in Marriot and even the expensive ones in the inner harbor of baltimore gave you a paper. Oh, and the TV stations SUCK. Half of them are news stations or sports stations. I just want to watch some regular TV. On the plus side, the staff is GREAT. They were very very nice. i think next year I might try somewhere else.

Joey P.

Yelp
I stayed here for a wedding this past weekend and the hotel stay was great! I got a room with a king size bed and it was very clean! It was spacious and the bathroom was a good size too! The banquet room where the wedding was was one of, if not, the best I've been in. The hotel staff were very friendly as well. The bartender at Preston's even opened the bar 15 minutes before it was scheduled to open! I would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone staying in the area.

Erik B.

Yelp
Otherwise a decent hotel, this hotel has next to no sound isolation. You can see gaps under the doors to the hall and the adjacent room. I can hear every sound m neighbor makes as I he were in my room.

M D.

Yelp
Not bad, but looks nicer than it is. Room was very very noisy, where you hear people upstairs, next door, and in the hall.

A. T.

Yelp
I really enjoyed my stay here. We had a room with two beds and it was very spacious and clean. The front desk was very attentive and helpful. The location is unbeatable. Our room rate included breakfast. The food was very good and the wait staff was very friendly.
