Just got married at the Inn this past May, Doug and Karissa were amazing to work with!! Incredibly easy, communicative, accommodating, the works! The Inn is gorgeous, the grounds were gorgeous, and we stayed at the Inn along with many of our guests, a whole wedding weekend getaway, and we couldn't be happier with the service. Highly recommend even if just for a weekend getaway, a rehearsal dinner, and absolutely for a wedding! We will likely celebrate our anniversary here for many years to come!

Wonderful quaint New England inn. I have had reason to attend a number of luncheon functions here. Beautiful grounds. Well-kept rooms. Clean. Very nice staff. Some services could be delayed based on time of day... keep in mind, like most quaint inns, it is a small family run (and labor of love) business. If everyone is trying to check out at the same prime time of the morning... well... one should not expect a staff of 5 there at the front desk :) If one is interested in a quaint, country weekend getaway, Woodstock and this Inn have much to offer. One does not need to drive the long haul up to central VT (the other Woodstock... ha ha) to have the hills, farms and farm stores, from-the-farm milk meats and dairy products that put supermarkets to shame, orchards, historic homes to tours, boutique wineries and distilleries. To add... a well kept secret... if you are a cyclist... this is a 'destination'. You will find amazing open, un-trafficed roads, with many cycling routes and distances to choose from (most will be hilly :) Again... VT without the VT logistics. Note: I do find it humorous that some reviewers opt for staying at a 'historic country inn experience', and then leave a negative review (unfair at that) that they got a 'historic country inn experience'... as if a historic property should look and feel like a downtown Marriott.

I have stayed here twice during business trips. It's a quaint beautiful place. An old new England home converted into an Inn. Just as you expect, cozy sitting rooms, beautiful patio, rooms decorated in remembrance of years past. The service is impeccable, very attentive as it's not a large place. Breakfast is included but the restaurant is only open later for events. However, the front desk was still able to access a full bar for a drink. I took advantage of that when I had some down time. A good drink, a good book, beautiful patio overlooking beautiful scenery and crispy fall weather.....perfect. If you're in the area and appreciate a cozy setting over a chain hotel, definitely come here.

Cozy historic Inn featured in Hallmark Christmas movie.|Loved walking through the rooms where the movie guests also were filmed.||Owners are family with kids and the friendly attentive staff treat the place as their home. Longevity with the interesting history!|Beautiful landscaping and comfortable quiet rooms. Spent a relaxing evening with all the amenities of modern life minus the noise and distractions. And the morning breakfast was a feast that did not disappoint. Delicious. |Certainly recommend a visit!!! Experience a little history and Hallmark!

What an absolute gem for this area. Loved staying here just before a day at the track. The employees are very accommodating and nice to talk to. The housekeeping was incredible and worked with my early schedule. Would highly recommend!

Having grown up in Woodstock, you don’t typically vacation where you live. Having said that, as an adult who now lives quite a ways away from the rest of my family, I was excited to stay at the Inn during a recent visit. What a delight! The room was immaculate and the service was incredible. I look forward to becoming a regular when I’m back home visiting my family in the area! Thank you for an incredible stay. Gorgeous facility with incredible people. Truly outstanding!

The Inn is very nice, flowers everywhere outside. Inside, there are old furniture. Very good breakfast. The rooms are nice but I didn't sleep well because of a bed too soft and much noise after 5 am, perhaps the air conditioned.

We got there about 8:30 p.m. and left at 9:00 a.m. due to our schedule, so we didn't experience it all fully. However it's a pretty neat inn and very cozy. We understand it's a converted farmhouse, but it was a really fancy farmhouse! It's the only time I've seen double width dormers on a building!

Yelp
So my review is both a 1 star and 5 star. the inn itself, we were there for my daughters wedding May 4th of 2024. The Inn is amazing, the accommodations were excellent. We staying in the cottage. It was clean, it was neat, it had everything that we wanted The Wedding itself was flawless, except the food. That I will get too. The banquet room was also clean, organized. The staff that was we had working with us were awesome. Friendly, neat, knew the bar, knew the inn, knew the menu and the event. Food However I will give 1 star. it was overcook, smallest of small portions and lacked flavor. I got the sliced Filet. It was beyond well done. So were the other that ordered it at my table. Very sad.

Yelp
We recently spent two nights at the Inn and loved every moment. Our room was beautiful with a four poster bed that hugged us as we slept. The fireplace was cozy, especially since it was fall and the evenings a bit chilly. The bathroom was comfortable and the water pressure in the shower excellent. Our room overlooked the gardens and it was quiet and peaceful. The perfect two night stay. Breakfast each morning was more of a continental style breakfast which was plenty but Nok will happily cook eggs and bacon for those wanting a heartier breakfast. The restaurant was not open for guests, just special parties. We highly recommend the Inn and would love to go back.

Yelp
Woodstock Inn is a wonderful restaurant with excellent service & food! Many choices of great crisp wines & mixed drinks. Overall, every lunch & dinner at the Woodstock Inn for over the past 30 years has been very memorable and enjoyable! Holiday meals are outstanding! L&W RI

Yelp
From the moment I called with a question on my drive into town and interacted with Doug my expectations were sky high. Those expectations were exceeded! This Inn is the definition of charming and sets the standard for customer service.

Yelp
We needed a break from our hectic work schedules. I knew what I was looking for - beauty, scenic views, Peace and Tranquility but I just couldn't find something that touched my soul. Somehow fortunately the internet led me to the Inn at Woodstock Hill. The website photos are true. The reviews are true. I hope I can share my photos with you. Doug was the man who answered my call. Witty, professional, noble. I called the Inn and Doug answered. I explained my situation - I wanted the best for my wife who was approaching a life milestone and wanted to celebrate, if only for 24 hours. Doug recommended the best room in the house. OMG! This is not your typical B&B. The funniest part is that, I would never have expected vaulted ceilings and exposed wood beams, Ceiling Fan, A/C, Fireplace, Windows galore and all the modern day conveniences. The bathroom is spectacular. The Four Post King Size Bed and Pillows are the best. Absolute Home Run!! I was concerned about my Wife's ability to walk up the staircase. I worried until the moment I walked up this magnificently created staircase. The risers are low and very manageable. The railing is sturdy like an oak but truly a piece of art. The width is wide and accommodating for big people carrying luggage, which Doug voluntarily carried up to our room for us. The staircase is breathtaking. Doug was very attentive by email or phone. We spoke often. Doug became my accomplice and anticipated my needs. I wanted Flowers and Chocolates in the Room prior to arrival. Doug was like "I've got the Chocolates covered and here is the number to a Florist in Town". The Florist had a user friendly website and I was able to order and customize my gift online, as this was a big surprise, I had to keep my secret phone calls to a minimum for fear of my Bride becoming suspicious. Next, Dinner recommendations. At this point I fully trusted Doug's recommendations and requested that he make reservations for 5:30pm and preferably, someplace that served Stuffed Clams. My wife was saying lately how much she wants to have stuffed clams! Doug called to confirm the reservations, as I also received an online confirmation from the restaurant itself. Doug explained the mouthwatering menu but no clams. Better to hear it from him, then think that he didn't honor my request, right? The menu was still outstanding (Beef Wellington, Bone Marrow, Watermelon with Feta Salad). My Wife and I are foodies. Another homerun! So as we're riding up from New Haven County: 90 minute trip, relaxing music, good conversation. My phone rings and its Doug. He's calling to inform me that although his restaurant is currently closed, he has taken the liberty of obtaining some stuffed clams and wanted to know if we would like to enjoy them in the Gazebo outside or, in the Dining Room inside? Words cannot describe this level of customer satisfaction. I chose the Gazebo and now my wife knows that there is a guy named Doug who is involved in this surprise adventure. The soft romantic music, the birds chirping, the tranquility of the beautifully landscaped property. It was the beginning of being able to relax. To breathe the fresh air. To laugh and be at awe of the property. Doug allowed us to check in early, as the room wasn't used the night before. We arrived at 11am Saturday and had to leave by 8am the following morning. In that short period of time, I fell in love with this property and so will you. Breakfast - YUM! I had my eggs made over easy. They were perfect. The flavor was farm fresh and rightfully so. Real bacon cooked just the way I like it! Fresh real fruit. Real Food, Real caring host and staff. Really kind people. Farm fresh honey. The breakfast is far superior to any place we've stayed. Real china, real napkins, real tablecloths. Calm sophistication. Soft romantic music. Views. This is our new spot. Thanks Doug, and your staff, for everything! We feel like part of the family.

Yelp
The inn is super cute and the staff is great. I hosted my wedding here and Doug and Karissa exceeded my expectations. The rooms are adorable and very clean. I highly recommend the inn for your next event!

Yelp
Mother's Day Brunch is $75 per person. The food is buffet style and not bad however the attention to attention to detail is sorely lacking. For example, I asked for some ketchup for my home fries and they brought me a small dish and half a dozen ketchup packets! They had lox, capers, onions which were good but then no bagels and in fact no toast or bread of any kind. There was a seafood chowder that was good but was luke warm and that was right after they had opened the buffet. Waffles and chix same, same, not hot and according to my sister the maple syrup was not real maple syrup. On the plus side, there was a beef tenderloin with mushrooms that was excellent and a shrimp and rice dish that was also very good. The staff was very nice, the facility is nice but a little run down. The Mother's Day seatings were sold out so clearly they have a loyal following but for me, I will not do this again, especially at that price.

Yelp
Had a wonderful time at the Inn. We were there during Thanksgiving and everything was spectacular. Doug and Christa did everything to make our stay there perfect. He can go up and down those stairs pretty quickly. We had breakfast the next morning and there was a bit of confusion in the beginning but everything worked out. Make sure you try the croissants, fabulous.

Yelp
We stayed at the Inn while attending a wedding nearby and loved it. The beautiful old home was gracefully furnished and had multiple sitting areas to relax in and enjoy their nice breakfast. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The bride reserved a block of rooms for guests. We stayed in room 206 which was very small and had 2 twin beds. The beds are not my preference but it was the last room available when I booked 3 months ago. By the way, it was the same price as larger rooms. The small room was clean and cute and suited our needs for 2 nights. Unfortunately, the window air conditioning unit was loud and made me miss my central air. I especially enjoyed my walk around their grounds. There were gorgeous flowers everywhere and a large vegetable garden. I loved the huge chestnut tress. Check out all my Photos.

Yelp
Wonderful experience! Thank you Doug for taking such good care of me this past weekend! Everything was just right and I can't thank you enough for all you, your wife and staff do to make your guests so comfortable. Highly recommend! Thank you again!

Yelp
We stayed at the a Woodstock Inn last night. This is a hidden Gem. The staff was absolutely amazing and accommodating! At dinner we had the seafood chowder, absolutely fabulous balance of fresh seafood and cream; being a chowder snob growing up in Newport RI I know my chowder! Mixed mesclun greens with a creamy dill dressing that had the most wonderful aroma from the fresh dill. My husband had the Red roasted beet risotto and I had the flat iron steak with Tyne au jus with a blue cheese crumble , both tasted wonderful! We had cranberry apple crumble a la mode and amaretto crepe brûlée . We stayed in room 202 which was very cozy with the gas fireplace and had a wonderful view of the grounds. In the morning we were awakened by the smell of fresh baking croissants and fresh coffee . When we came downstairs we were greeted by Marjorie who was so welcoming and made for us the best scrambled eggs I think I have ever had; and I am super fussy about my eggs! Marjorie also gave us the history of the Inn. This will be our new favorite weekend get away! I highly recommend!!!!!!!

Yelp
Everything was excellent! From our waiter Herb, to our exit purchasing the honey collected by The Inn at Woodstock Hill! I would recommend to all! Enjoy yourself!

Yelp
Wonderful place! The Inn at Woodstock Hill was a perfect place to stay and venture out for scenic drives to see the fall foliage. This was my third time staying at the Inn and we plan to come back every year. The Inn has a unique character - it has that old-time charm from the 1800s, but is updated, so you don't miss out on the modern conveniences. It is quiet and has a relaxed atmosphere from the moment you walk in. It is truly a little time-travel get away and we felt like we got a reset and new peace after staying here for a few days. The staff was friendly and very accommodating. The manager even warmed up a cup of coffee for us when we returned late one night. The common rooms were a delight to sit in near the fireplace and just read a book late one night. The old grand staircase was so delightful - we did not mind at all having to carry our luggage up. The breakfast was great, with fresh fruit and was served on real dishes and real tablecloths, none of that throw away plastic stuff. My husband loved their robust coffee and they even offered various hot teas as well. The weather cooperated nicely for a walk around the gorgeous grounds and snapping a few pictures for the memory books. I would wholeheartedly recommend a stay here.

Yelp
This overpriced Inn should be avoided. The stairs are narrow and steep, the mattresses hard, and the decorations dated. While the dinner was nice and our server, Crystal, was lovely, that was the only highlight. I was surprised to learn that a such a "classic" B&B only served a continental breakfast with no hot food in sight. I could have eaten that from a comfort inn and saved money. This was not worth the 190 per night fee.

The B.

Yelp
Stayed here due to attending an event nearby. Unfortunately there was a wedding so the restaurant was closed to Saturday dinner and Sunday brunch. Based on reviews there are better dining options elsewhere anyway. Check in was quick and friendly. The place was a bit frumpy and boring but clean. Bed was soft and springs could be felt. Didn't have the historic vibe of the Gris for example. Don't think I'd rush back.

Yelp
The Inn at Woodstock Hill is our "home away from home." Our family has celebrated nearly every major event at The Inn for 27 years. That's because they do it so well! And our party on the 21st was no exception - in fact, I think it was the best yet!

Yelp
I love the Inn at Woodstock Hill. I am a huge fan of rustic country B&B's and this one will not disappoint. I have spent several nights at the Inn while visiting family. Rooms are decent-sized and spotless. The restaurant at the Inn is little ole Woodstock's version of "fine dining" (and they have a bar that actually serves martinis!!). The food is pretty good - not great. I definatley recommend the regular dinner menu over the holiday buffets where I have suspected instant potatos and frozen veggies have been used during past visits. The good thing I have to say about the holiday meals is that after I had a disappointing experience in the past and complained, the manager totally made things right by me. Woodstock is such a picturesque country town, my home town - and the Inn at Woodstock Hill is perfectly suited to enhance your antiquing week-end, fall apple-picking at Bishops Orchard or perhaps a visit to the famous Woodstock Country Fair.

Yelp
What a charming and beautiful place to have a wedding and stay overnight. The Inn itself is pretty fabulous, all the rooms have a bit of character to them. If you are looking for a wedding location, this is perfect for small, intimidate weddings. The rooms are great, you can look on their website at the various rooms. We stayed in room 201, it was right at the top of the stairs but you don't hear any noise coming from downstairs, its pretty great. The room was large and it had a sitting area, you can turn the couch around and face the fireplace if you want as well. Bed was extremely comfortable. Huge closet, there is plenty of room. Bathrooms are super clean and comes with your basic bath amenities but this time you get a razor and shaving cream, if you forget! The breakfast in the morning is fabulous. Its continental but its not the crappy muffins and bagels. They offer Danishes, croissants, toast ( and there is a toaster) with your varieties of peanut butter, jams and jellies. They have cheese and cold cuts, hard boiled eggs, and even different kinds of yogurt. Different fruit juices and of course tea and coffee. I was pretty impressed! Overall, an awesome stay. Staff here is super nice. Location is good, there is a vineyard close by and downtown is a short drive where there are supermarkets and restaurants.

Yelp
Just returned home last night from my third Christmas stay at The Inn. My wife's huge extended family (babies to Great-Grandma)has booked the entire place every five years for the last fifteen. This place gets 5 stars for effort alone. The staff is thorough and genuinely friendly and never too busy to accommodate, topped by Herb, who seemed to read minds anticipating guests' needs. The rooms are quaint and comfortable and well-maintained (Electric zone heating has been installed since our last stay). The food is delicious, in fact amazing, considering the huge crowd descending en masse at mealtime. (My only tiny complaint might be that meals with table service had enough food on the plate for two). [Cheers, Herb. Great to get to know you a bit more every 5 years]

Yelp
We were on our way from New Jersey to Boston and hit a snowstorm. We had planned to stay at a relatives home but they warned us that the roads were not cleared. So we checked around and found the Inn At Woodstock Hill. What a great surprise. Lovely spacious room, friendly helpful staff and charming restaurant with good menu and food. We are originally from New Jersey but live now in San Francisco. We needed a bit of that New England ambience and the Inn certainly delivered. The setting and décor was perfect. We will stop by again on our east coast trips.

Yelp
The Inn at Woodstock Hill is a charming country inn. I had purchased a Living Social deal and realized I was not going to receive the same treatment as other guests shortly after we arrived. When I checked in, she told me that she was going to put me in Room 317, I told her that I had requested Room 208 on the reservation. (The Living Social was very specific as to which rooms you could stay in) Her response was "Oh well, the room has been rented for the past couple of days." She told us the best way to get to our room was up the back staircase which was very dimly lit. She told me it would be good idea to make a dinner reservation if we planned on staying for dinner. So I made the reservation for 6:00. She did not ask about our preference for seating. As we entered our room, the stifling heat hit us immediately. The first thing we did was turn on the air conditioning because there was no other window to open. The air conditioning was quite noisy (which actually kept both of us up all night) Had there been another window in the room, we would have just opened it because it was actually cool outside. When we went down for dinner, there was outdoor seating and indoor seating. Since we were not asked where we would like to sit when the reservation was made, I assumed that she would put us with all the guests. But no, we were put inside by ourselves. We sat by ourselves for almost an hour while the live entertainment and all of the other guests were outside enjoying a lovely evening. (We really felt like part of the crowd!) So my experience at the is not as positive as others. If I had paid full price, I believe I would have received better treatment than I did. If a business is going to have a Living Social or Groupon deal, they should treat the guests like they would treat a full-paying customer. I realize there was a wedding at the Inn and they were busy, but no excuses for giving our room away and putting me in a room with a noisy air conditioning and no other means of ventilation. Shame on them.

Brad T.

Yelp
Saturday lunch is outstanding. Great location and staff, Herb is one of the best waiters we have seen. He seems to anticipate your need, before you know it. The food is outstanding. If you have not been to the inn, you are missing out on a treasure.

Yelp
We had brunch here on Sunday, September 30th. Their menu was interesting, there were your typical breakfast items, eggs, waffles, omelettes but with a little extra (lobster in omelette or scallops), baked brie and raspberry crepes. There appeared to be only one waiter (Herb) working who was under a little pressure but got us everything we needed all the same and was pleasant and obliging. The receptionist helped him out a little also. I think they need a little more help there as the buffet ran out of food items and plates a few times. The inn itself is charming. Beautifully decorated and very tasteful. I would like to spend some time there as a guest, perhaps around the holidays. They had a beautiful outside area also which would be ideal for a party or wedding. Gorgeous landscape surrounds the inn. I will definitely go back there.

Ed P.

Yelp
We went to the Inn for a Wine Dinner. This is a multi-course dinner and each is served with an appropriately paired wine. If you enjoy god food and wine, this is great showcase for both. This was our second Wine Dinner, but won't be our last. Portions are adequate and by the end of the meal, you will be very satisfied. Don't let the price fool you. It is a great value for what you get.

Yelp
Our daughter's wedding was at the Inn at Woodstock Hill this past weekend and as my husband commented, "It just doesn't get any better than this." Not only is it an absolutely gorgeous and well-maintained place, but their all inclusive wedding package, and the planner there, made the entire process completely seamless. The ceremony, which took place out back on their beautifully landscaped patio, was just beautiful, followed by a wonderful reception in their dining room and covered rear deck. Everyone commented on how wonderful the food and service was, and the cake (which is part of the package) was beautiful AND delicious. My daughter has some food restrictions and they went out of their way to ensure that the bride ALWAYS had the right foods to eat, from the appetizers through desserts. They also went out of their way to ensure that my 95-year old mother and step-father had a special and comfortable place to sit during the ceremony, and everyone from the wait staff to the bartenders clearly went out of their way to ensure that a great time was had by all. I simply could not recommend this place highly enough. Pretty much everyone I've spoken with who attended commented that it's the most beautiful wedding they've ever gone to. If you're looking for a wedding venue for a smallish wedding (about 85 people or less) you DEFINITELY want to check out the Inn at Woodstock Hill.

Yelp
We've always been big fans of the Inn. From some of our first dates nearly 15 years ago to the very special moment when we invited 50+ of our closest friends to join us there for our wedding. The food, atmosphere, and particularly the staff are what really make this such a special place. Careful attention to detail, excellent culinary skills, quiet resonance all come together for perfect synergy. For a special occasion or merely just a pleasant night out during the middle of the week, the Inn continues a well paced lineage of excellence over the years.

Yelp
Wonderful Mother's Day experience. The dining room is elegant and beautiful and so is the entire property. Our waiter Herb was very attentive and pleasant. "Lunch started out with delicious hot rolls and whipped butter. I had the asparagus and chicken chowder to start which was a good size serving and delicious. The house salad had a delicious almost lemon pesto-like dressing but could have used more cucumbers and tomatoes. My entree was the roast turkey with fixings (mashed potatoes, stuffing, and homemade cranberry sauce) with steamed vegetables on the wide. Turkey was a tiny bit on the dryer side but I was overall satisfied. I finished my meal with a strawberry shortcake which I loved! My parents go here in the summer on many Friday's for an event with outdoor dining and live music so so definitely will be back for that.

Eleanor C.

Yelp
I have dined at the Inn many times over the years, from Sunday Brunch to Dinners, Wine Tastings and Special Holidays. It is absolutely the best.

Tina B.

Yelp
We thought we would try something different this year for Thanksgiving, and The Inn looked like a good choice. Sad to say, we were very disappointed. The atmosphere is cozy and warm and The Inn is beautiful, and we were warmly greeted upon our arrival. The appetizers were good and served in a timely fashion. The turkey dinner and from the moment it arrived we were disappointed. The golf ball sized dollop of potatoes were starchy and dry, the vegetable servings were meager and the turkey was as dry as shoe leather. To try to salvage the meal we had to ask for additional gravy. The desserts were average at best. Needless to say, we will not be going back for holiday meals.

Hilary L.

Yelp
Rather than having a quiet Thanksgiving celebration I felt as if we were on a production line. The staff was pleasant and helpful however the food was mediocre at best. I am a vegetarian and one would think that there are enough of us around now that restaurant menus could be a little more accomodating. A plate of vegetables without a protein source isn't exactly a meal I would spend thirty four dollars for in the future. The person with whom I was dining isn't vegetarian and the turkey which was piled high had about a teaspoon of gravy. The potatoes were dry and unappetizing.

Carole L.

Yelp
They do it right at the Inn at Woodstock Hill. The Friday gatherings on the patio or on the porch are fun. Last night Bruce John sang while we enjoyed $5.00 drinks and delicious entrees. Becky was our server and as always, couldn't beat the service. We have never been disappointed at the Inn and go often. We are fortunate to have this special place.

Megan G.

Yelp
I couldn't be more pleased with our choice to have our wedding reception at the Inn at Woodstock Hill! The venue is BEAUTIFUL! The Inn is historic with lovely interior designs in each room. There are several gardens and scenic views for pictures. Lara is the event coordinator and she was fabulous to work with! The food was incredible and they make your wedding cake on-site with several options to choose from. We had a tent reception with a sit down meal. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel special and turn our dream reception into a reality. I highly recommend the Inn as a wedding venue!

Yelp
We stayed at the Inn with friends again this year for New Yeras Eve. We did the package which came to just under $400 per couple. We stayed in room 316 on the third floor. The room was very cozy and clean and the cedar bathroom was huge. We had a view out the front towards the cottage next door. Dinner was very nice, a bottle of wine was included for each couple and small bottles of champagne for your New Years's toast. They were booked solid and we heard they had to turn people away for dinner. The breakfast buffet was not as nice as last year. Seems to have been cut back. Last year I remember scrambled eggs, sausage, and bacon. This year was mostly cold selections, yougurt, hard boiled eggs, cheeses and meats, fresh fruits, selection of toast and english muffins, instant oatmeal and cold cereal and previously frozen pastry. What happened? I would rather have paid more for the room to have a much nicer breakfast. Still, in all, we had a nice time.

Yelp
This was my second visit for the Halloween Stew and Story. It's just a fantastic evening. The house is beautifully decorated, the service is great and the stories are amazing! Stew and Story is an event that should not be missed. Love it!

Yelp
Update: I returned to the Inn to try the brunch for the first time. First the good news. Unlike my first visit the whole staff was friendly and attentive throughout the meal. The young hostess graciously greeted this solo diner and allowed me to view both the menu and buffet prior to being seated and said to call her if I decided to stay for the meal. I appreciated I was given the choice without the pressure and without someone hoovering over me. Once I decided to stay the hostess offered to take my coat. An older server welcomed me prior to seating and explained one could order the buffet alone or for a added dollar or two order a hot entree and receive the buffet gratis. He also stated coffee was an additional charge (but the juice is free with the buffet). I appreciated his through presentation. Throughout the meal my server was attentive without being intrusive. Both the buffet and my entree were presented well. Now the concerning the food. The meal looked wonderful on the plate and was cooked as I requested. The bacon was some of the best I've tasted, crispy but not burnt. The scrambled eggs while cooked as requested tasted premade to me. The pancakes were just ok too. The potatoes had a somewhat bitter taste to me. The coffee,at a bargain $.2.00 with refills, tasted like a supermarket blend. Unfortunately, my first cup was hot but with each refill got cooler even though the server poured from a fresh pot each time. The plated portion along with the buffet offered enough food and variety. Yet, except for the bacon to me no item tasted exceptional. In my opinion the food rated two star for taste, possibly three for presentation and the all you care to eat buffet but the service was definitely five star. I decided to give a three star. If I had "enjoyed" the food more I may have rated the place higher. For those who read these reviews some seating tips: the inn has a small front dining room with a single table and working fire place which looks spectacular. Another tip is stay away from the window seating which was drafty on my last visit. The inn is a historic building so I did not consider that in my review.

Summerfest at the Inn is absolutely great! Lobster, pulled pork, blackened catfish mussels Chowder and great desserts-the food is excellent. The entertainment was perfect for a summer night-Bruce John is the consummate one man show. This is our third year attending-we don't plan to miss it in the future.
