The Inn on Ferry Street

We booked this in August for the late December. One of the amenities we look for is a free continental breakfast, which this place had and was highly rated. We received an email FOUR days before check in stating that they are no longer serving breakfast. Not giving us enough time to find somewhere else to stay without paying a fortune. Pros: -Every member of the staff we interacted with was really nice! -Room was a comfortable temperature and stayed that way during the duration of our stay. -Water cooler in entryway that can do hot or cold. Plus a Keurig. -Great water pressure as long as you're an early bird. Otherwise the water pressure and temperature fluctuates by quite a bit. -Great location! 10-15 minutes (at most) away from a majority of the places we visited. -Quiet street, little to no road noise with only rare sirens being heard. Cons: -The house we stayed in did not have a door directly from the parking lot. You had to walk with all your luggage up the side of the house and use a walkway to get to the front door. The walkaway to the house we stayed in wasn't a solid path and was very uneven. As pictured. -Stains on the carpet everywhere. As pictured. -The room we stayed in was on the 1st floor and directly to the right as soon as you stepped in to the entry way. The crack under the double doors to our room is huge. Picture taken from inside our room. -Noise carries throughout the building. -The thinnest toilet paper and tissues you will ever use. -The mattress was very uneven and very soft (far from firm). -There were 3 outlets in the room (plus one in the bathroom) which it's an old building, fine. However, of the available ones not used for lamps, only the one furthest away from the bed was not so worn that a standard phone charger would not fall out of the socket. Overall I would not recommend this place.

The inn is located in a wonderful location. You truly are a minutes drive to the hustle and bustle of downtown Detroit. A couple of things i took issue with: 1) the check in process. According to their website,check in begins at 3. I went to the desk 2 separate times to check in and no one was there either time. The second time,they did provide a number for me to text and someone did come but still not really ideal as far as a smooth check in process is concerned. 2) when I finally was able to check in,i was told to wait a minute to make sure the room was squared away because there were housekeeping issues earlier in the day. Again- not ideal that this was not something taken care of prior to my arrival. I did have somewhere to be so it wasn’t a terribly inconvenient issue but I still feel like a room should be ready by the time the check in window opens. 3) while the room wasn’t bank-breaking expensive,it also wasn’t cheap for a one night stay. The room was clean-ISH. Definitely could’ve used a bit more of tidying up. Not a problem for me,but it is a more of a vintage hotel. Everything is very old fashioned to maintain authenticity. Lower your expectations now of modern furniture,appliances and updates. Overall not a terrible place to stay for 1-2 nights. Really just depends on what you value on a hotel.

I stayed here in late November. We met up with some friends for a night out in Detroit. The location was good and the room was mid. Space heaters were the only source of heat in our room. I thought the room was rather clean. I would book again!

The hotel is very nice. It's several historic houses in Midtown Detroit. The beds are excellent. The pillows aren't. They're hard. What's really bad is the service. They provide cleaning service every other day. And on the days they do come, they only make the bed. They don't clean the bathroom. They don't even refill the soap or toilet paper dispensers. They only offer breakfast on weekends and it's insufficient for the guests. The quality of the coffee is very bad. The staff doesn't seem to care at all about addressing complaints or improving the aspects that are pointed out to them. What a shame, because the hotel is very nice and it's very well located. The hotel is very expensive. They offer a 15% discount if you stay 3 nights or more. They did not accept to apply it in my stay.

Really enjoyed our stay here. We stayed in the "Haunted" room. Room 4102 in the Owens House. They don't advertise it as haunted but there are rumors out there on the internets. Anyway, we didn't have any supernatural encounters but we loved staying in an old Victorian home. We were able to jump on the streetcar nearby and go downtown which was very convenient. We were there on a Sunday and it seemed that the streetcar stopped service early so we had to Uber back but that was a short and inexpensive ride. The service here was great and they had a nice complimentary breakfast. I would definitely make this my hotel of choice going forward were I to return to Detroit.

First time visiting Detroit for work and was shocked at how expensive the hotels are compared to Chicago, NYC & LA. Scored a room at this gem for under $250/night and am I glad I did! All the buildings are stunning. There are so many nooks & crannies/common areas to hang out. I enjoyed coffee on the porch in the morning and it was just so serene. Everyone working here is very pleasant, helpful and demonstrate hospitality in its purest form. The breakfast is plentiful, hot & delicious (Thank you Regina!). A quick 2 minute walk to the complimentary Q Line takes you downtown in about 10 minutes - or if it’s a nice day, it’s a nice stroll. My room was cozy enough & very clean. My first B&B experience and I’d definitely stay here again! I did not need it, but parking is available.

I stayed here for one night, it was a separate building from the main and it was on the fourth floor. I inquired of breakfast and because it was on a week day, they didn’t serve anything. They claimed that they did pastries on the weekend. Went to room and they were missing hand soap and an extra roll of toilet paper for the bathroom. Also, one of the dresser’s shelves was just randomly not there. i would much rather stay at a hotel next time, nothing stood out to me as being unique.

The room maintenance and cleanliness need work. Our window sill was rotted away so you could feel wind coming through it. Thankfully, they provide space heaters because the temperature of our room was 62 degrees even though the thermostat was set to 72 for hours. ||||There were abandoned house level cobwebs on the top of the drapes and rods. The drapes themselves had some tabs that were ripped off and the rods were broken apart at the corners so closing the drapes to help keep the drafts out was nearly impossible.||||We found an old bottle of perfume in the armoire and wrappers from the shampoo the previous occupants had brought in the shower.||||The font desk staff in the evening was minimum effort "pleasant" and seemed as if I was putting her out when I asked where I could get ice. Granted she was the only one there (from what I could see) so she could've probably used an extra set of hands.||||The cleaning service tried to get into our room 1.5hrs before checkout (thankfully we had the door locked.) Then came back 30 minutes later and would frequently walk past our door making comments about us needing to check out soon. Mind you, I had even requested late check out. When I did, they said that probably couldn't be accommodated because they were so busy but to call them in the morning to see if they could. I never did end up calling because the purpose of late checkout is to not have to get up as early. If I was going to get up anyway to call, it defeats the purpose in my eyes.||||All that to say, I would give this place another chance because of the proximity to event venues I frequent and the overall esthetics but they definitely need to step up their cleanliness, maintenance and hospitality game given the prices they charge.

I stayed at the Roehm house last week while attending an Elton John concert in Detroit. Let me tell you The Inn on Ferry Street is gorgeous. There are five homes including a Carriage House that are gorgeous! They were built in the 1800s by Detroits affluent. Each house has several rooms with en suite bathrooms. There are many architecturally pleasing designs with each home. There are turrets, covered porches, beveled glass, etc. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. While there I found out they just recently reopened after being closed during the pandemic. Many places list it as closed so we brought it to the attention of the desk clerk and hopefully they will get it updated.

We got there to check in tonight and they sold our room to another guest willing to pay more. I had a booking confirmation from a pre paid reservation and i had already did an on line check in. I had also called a week before to make sure we had a certain room that was recommended. When we got there she told me even though she could see my reservation, she had resold my room. Not one bit of an apology. She just said they have a new system and new owners.

What a disappointment. For $300/night I was expecting a lot more but got almost none of it. Tiny room that was oversold online. A bathroom without a sink. The sink was IN the main room and so small that even my toothbrush wouldn't fit in it. They must have thought the sink was useless, too, since I wasn't even provided a hand towel! Hot water literally took 5 minutes to get to the room. While acknowledging the building is old and historic, the room didn't have AC and one window was literally falling out of the frame along with its screen. Was hoping a wind gust didn't take it fully out, as without the AC, I needed to have the windows open which allowed me to be serenated by area traffic, sirens, and even people on the street talking. Sheer window curtains made things awkward in the room, as the next building and all its windows and guests were just 50 feet away. To boot, the curtains were hanging off the rods and chewed up in some areas. The porch off the parking area was decrepit with handrails literally missing and falling off. Some areas looked rotting as though a misstep would send you through beneath. No amenity guides for the Inn or the region were offered to guests and a question about area dinner options was met with one idea, though easy research once I got to my room showed a plethora of options just steps away from the Inn, all of which should have been contained in a guide for guests (and a show to community with other area local businesses). Only small appetizer plates were offered for breakfast and table service coffee was colder than my half-empty self-poured cup. Eggs were ICE cold and sausage was at best lightly warm. I discussed all this with the front desk and was verbally offered a discount. Good, except that I had to contact them three times to get them to follow through on this and even in that phone conversation staff did not care at all about the less than pleasant stay. This stay was one of the largest disappointments across my years of travel. Not recommended and won't be back.

My husband & I stayed at the Inn recently. It was a last minute decision to celebrate my cancer anniversary. We were thrilled that there was a room available for us as we've always wanted to stay here. We were in room 21. Upon checking in, we noticed several areas that were not clean. We let the receptionist know and she advised the cleaning manager. The cleaning manager was more than rude and put out that she had to vacuum and wipe a wall down that she missed. But, the room needs a total overhaul! The carpet is beyond disgusting, a ceiling pipe cracked and is leaking down the wall in the sitting area and there are spider webs everywhere. The windows are not in working order and beyond acceptable! Not to mention, the sink doesn't drain and the water that's provided by the Inn, in the foyer, was was empty our entire stay. My husband wanted to leave but he knew how much the weekend away meant to me so we stayed.

Flawlessly clean, cute, comfy, and friendly. Staff was above and beyond friendly, the reservation and check-in was easy, and there's not a speck of dust in the room. Typing this from my room as we speak. Love the character of the buildings. Nice, clean neighborhood. Would've liked to stay in Downtown to be able to walk around down there, but for the major money savings and the character, it's a great place and Uber was cheap. Not sure I even needed to go to Downtown... probably could've tried walking around here.

Great location, very close to the Qline. The staff was very helpful and friendly. We would definitely stay there again. Shields Pizza was a couple of blocks away and a really nice find.

Booked two rooms for two nights via hotels.com 11 months in advance for the '24 NFL draft. 2 months before the event, Inn on Ferry Street CANCELLED our reservation due to 'OVERBOOKING'. Called reservations, they said hotels.com cancelled, hotels.com blamed them, either way Inn on Ferry should have honored our reservation - booked 11 months early, really?? The place looks beautiful and we were looking forward to it. they think more about money than honoring a reservation... Mr. Lee

The Inn on Ferry Street is so charming! The Victorian homes are beautiful restored and maintained. When I was looking on pictures online, I was worried that it'd be musty or antiquated, but it wasn't at all. The room was clean and I felt like it was just the right size. It was a nice touch to have boxed water and Avalon cookies waiting. Although our room went right out to the "living room," it was surprisingly quiet. The included breakfast is also great! Good options - even for GF, vegetarians. I also appreciated the location; it wasn't too far from all the hot spots. Highly recommend staying here in DET! 97/365

Such a sweet place to crash in Detroit. Walking distance to museums, great food and pleasant strolls. Delicious fresh breakfast, easy wi-fi, delightful staff and old time radios in the common areas playing John Coltrane. Can't recommend highly enough!

Beautifully renovated Victorian homes designed into a 5 house Bed and Breakfast, each house has 4 to five rooms. I had made reservations 4 months in advance and was super excited to stay at this Bed and Breakfast. It was perfect for my needs: free shuttle service within a five mile range, near downtown Detroit and convenient to my mom and siblings. We arrived at 1:00 am and checking in was a disaster, it was a total miss communications and miss understanding between myself and the Inn on Ferry Street clerk who had made my reservations. Because of this we ended up having to pay for extra night which we had not planned for. After going back and forth with various management personnel explaining our side of the story we let them work their magic to provide us with better customer service. Thank you Mary Liz, Christine, Brent, Stephanie, Holly and all the folks involved we totally loved our suite. This had to be one of the best rooms on the property. This suite was a mini apartment. We had a huge bedroom, deluxe queen bed, two night stands, TV and a Chest of Drawer. From the bedroom we could walk out onto a beautiful private deck complete with patio furniture. The bathroom was large and the living room space was so comfortable to sit and socialize in complete with a desk, sofa, ottoman and easy chair. We loved everything about the suite. The Inn provides a continental breakfast: coffee, tea, juice, boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, and a quiche. Fresh fruit: strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, blackberries, cantaloupe and watermelon. Cold cereal and waffles if you should want to make them, toast and pastries. Don't let me forget to mention the anytime you need them free Shuttle service. All the drivers we used were very nice and helpful and the vans were in excellent condition. The suite was amazing, the breakfast and shuttle service was fantastic and we look forward to future reservations with The Inn on Ferry Street.

Had a fun short stay in the Carriage House at the Inn on Ferry Street. Was in town for a wedding and the whole wedding party stayed on the property. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was fresh and varied. And the hotel was within walking distance of the DIA, the wedding venue, the Amtrak station, shopping and other fun venues. Didn't ride the bikes that were available - that's something for our next visit!

Terrific location - very close to the Detroit Institute for the Arts (which is a must-see if you stay here). Beautiful houses converted to hotel rooms, all with their own bath. The breakfast options were plentiful - and slightly different each day, so there's variety along with all the standards. We didn't happen to need to use their shuttle service, but it's a great amenity. Friendly people working in the main house, and our room in the Roehm House was quiet and comfy. This place was just what we were looking for.

Hidden gem in the city, the Inn on Ferry is quite the experience. I am finally getting around to my hotel/Inn reviews of my most favorite places to stay in Michigan and the Inn on Ferry is at the top of my list. Pre-Covid, we spent a great deal of time in the city. We love to eat, we love to drink, we love to hop around the amazing city of Detroit. One of our most favorite things to do on the weekend is stay in a hotel and uber/walk around experiencing the city. The Inn on Ferry has to be one of our favorite places. We do want to keep it a secret, but of course we want to share our special finds with others, so people can enjoy the simple pleasures in life. The Inn comprises several old Victorian homes which have been refurbished into guest rooms. The architecture and design of the Inn is spectacular. We loved our stay and enjoyed our morning eating the delicious breakfast prepared perfectly. We are looking forward to another stay in our future. If you are lucky enough to make a reservation, don't hesitate to book. The rooms go very quickly.

Is this hotel still in business? Emails and chats go unanswered. Phone calls are never answered or called back. Outstanding invoices to vendors are unpaid.

Our Queen suite was spacious and well appointed. The Avalon cookies in the room were a nice touch. I would give them 5 stars if it wasn't winter and freezing in the rooms. Yes, there was a space heater in the bedroom, but it took a long time to heat up. The shuttle was a nice touch and came in handy for our trip to the DSO. The breakfast in the morning was great. There was lots of fresh fruit, baked goods, Great Lakes Coffee and little frittatas. I really enjoyed this BnB and would stay here again in a heartbeat.

When we walked into our beautiful room, it was 75 degrees. We called maintenance, who pressed buttons on the thermostat (as I already had) and said wait five and call again if it doesn't improve. After he left we realized the vents on the ceiling were closed. I got a chair and opened them. Light A/C was coming though. After running the fan and opening the vents we went to sleep. Now at six am, it is okay. I just wish there were blackout curtains. Even with my eye mask I am up at 6:39 am. Not my idea of sleeping in on my vacation. With that being said, the breakfast is dynamite. The service is great. It makes what would be a "three star" more like a four star stay.

Stayed at the Inn on Ferry Street on Saturday, July 13th. Love that they have a shuttle to take you to/from downtown destinations. We had reserved a king bed in the Scott House and the room was quite large - much larger than a typical hotel room and very clean. The room was a little stuffy (but it was 90+ degrees), so it was nice that they supplied a fan. They also supplied water and cookies, which was a nice touch. We also loved that they have private parking behind the building, off the street. Breakfast the next day had everything - eggs, French toast, pastries, fruit, juice and coffee. The only thing I would've liked to see was a meat option. Would definitely recommend this place for a stay!

Pre-covid visit. A bit of a mixed bag, given high expectations. The Inn gets very high marks for being a set of beautiful old buildings nicely restored, in a great location, at a fair price, and with a lovely parlor for relaxing and breakfast. The breakfast was excellent - nice variety of options, all high quality. Our room was just ok. I suspect there are nicer ones, but they don't let you pick your room or provide much info on the differences among them. There was a dead bug on the window sill (in February) and a dead bird right outside the window in plain view of anyone using or cleaning the room. Trim needed attention and repainting. The curtains don't fully cover the windows, so room could not be darkened for sleeping. The heat, when on, made a loud rattling noise. The bedding was old and needed to be replaced. Sheets were rough and blanket old with lots of pills and pulls. Pillow was hard. Not the most comfie sleeping experience. Coffee maker in room didn't heat properly. Bathroom fine, but nothing special. Tile needs a deep clean. In general, the decor in our room and Pung's house was ok, but not as authentic, attractive, or as high quality as the public areas in the main house. Perhaps a glitch, but our room did not get cleaned between our first and second nights, despite placing the "please service now" sign out while away from noon to 6 pm. Staff were also a mixed bag. Seemed many were new to the inn and hospitality in general. Not a lot of warm welcoming. Breakfast staff were friendly and efficient. The shuttle driver was very nice and provided a great service. But we reserved it for 6:40 to get to a 7:00 dinner and they had taken another job too soon before our time so was 20+minutes late, so we couldn't wait any longer and had to take an Uber. When we returned at 10:30 pm on a cold Saturday night, hoping for some hot tea in the parlor, the desk clerk admonished us that we weren't allowed there at that hour, despite the food/drink service being fully set up. We wanted to love this place, and it is special in many ways, but were a little disappointed. We forgive and embrace the idiosyncrasies of charming old houses, such as thin walls and creaks, but not the easy maintenance and upgrade items described here. Would give it another try on our next trip to Detroit if we could get assurances of a better room experience.

Nice place, not so great area. Walls are thin, so it is very noisy, from both outside traffic and guests in other rooms. Owners are doing their best to run a solid hotel. However, they are unethical. I booked a standard reservation for two nights. I checked in and stayed the first night, but suddenly had to leave the second day, early AM. I was told they were going to charge me for two nights - company policy. Which they did, nearly $200. They hotel was barely at 50% occupancy, so it wasn't like they are turning customers away. They just wanted to keep the money. This is thievery. Dishonest people. Stay away.

The Inn at Ferry Street is a row of 4 buildings set near Wayne State. Each was once a private home to a local Detroit family, and has the Queen Anne architecture and details that make a nerd like me love climbing 3 flights of stairs (no elevators, what do you think?) to get to my room. It's a little difficult at first to find (it doesn't help they are doing construction on the street) but make sure you go to 84 Ferry Street, as that is where check-in is. I was greeted by a wonderful front desk gentleman, and the valet was great too! They have a charming dining area where the free breakfast is in the mornings, and there is coffee/tea/hot chocolate when you arrive which was perfect for this freezing Californian. This place is old school, so you're given a traditional key to get into your room. But they do have card keys to get into the front door of each building. No elevator so be aware! There is free internet which is great, and the bed was comfortable with soft linens. The shower/bathroom was updated with nice toiletries and towels. This place is like a high end hotel with the feel of a small bed and breakfast. The building I was in is called the Rhoem House, and I loved seeing the old photographs of brides walking down the staircase I was on with their beautiful gowns. I also loved the stained glass window which adds to the beauty of the building. Plues, they have amazing chocolate chip cookies from Avalon Baker and water in your room. Its a nice area of Detroit, close to Henry Ford Hospital, Wayne State, museums and downtown. I arrived late, but it looks like its a 5 minute walk to a small mall which looked like it had adorable shops. The rates were reasonable given the area and the amenities the place provides. I highly recommend a stay at the Inn on Ferry Street!

What a find. It's hard to believe that a place like this exists at all in any large city, not to mention at the incredibly reasonable price that we got through hotels dot com. The Inn is one centrally administered hotel with four contiguous buildings--large stone Victorian-style homes. Aesthetically it seems like a bed and breakfast, but the format is a hybrid, 50% boutique hotel, 50% B&B, 100% uniquely delightful. Both the interiors and exteriors were utterly handsome and charming. The quality of our room (1202 in the Pungs House) was more than satisfactory. Some aspects of the house clearly showed their age, such as the window and door frames which have been frequently repainted, and much of the furniture seemed antique. However, that is to be expected in homes of this vintage and adds to the atmosphere. Most of the room fixtures, particularly the entire bathroom, were brand-new and flawless. The walls themselves had been crisply painted in the very recent past. There is one major perk of staying at the Inn--shuttle service. The shuttle will pick up and drop off guests anywhere within a five-mile radius of the hotel AROUND THE CLOCK. I read about this before booking, but I thought that it sounded too good to be true. It wasn't. We used it to get to and from Comerica Park around 6pm and 10pm, but the 24-hour service was confirmed by our driver. I failed to catch his name, which is too bad because he was a great unofficial tour guide and local information source for the two ten-minute drives which we spent with him. Other than that, our service interactions were minimal, but all of the staff seemed courteous and helpful. Breakfast was served for all guests in the main building. This is one area for improvement, because although the quality of the breakfast was satisfactory, the logistics are a clusterbleep. In general, there are two problems: scattered placement of food in too-close proximity to the tables and chairs; and too many people for the small space. #2 would not be a problem without #1 and vice versa. By all means, do not let the prospect of a crowded breakfast prevent you from booking this place for your next stay in Detroit. It is an absolute gem and priced very reasonably. Other details: + Real drinking glasses + Strong wifi with no password or login required + Complimentary bottled water AND locally produced oatmeal-raisin cookies (see photo) + Free parking in a lighted and guarded lot behind the properties + Numerous comfortable places to sit outside the room: on the landing of our floor, on the ground floor of the house, on the grounds outside. This is a boon for those couples with widely disparate wake-up times. + Starbucks coffee and Tazo tea inside the room + A hotel-provided magazine actually worth reading: Preservation, "The magazine of the National Trust for Historic Preservation." It was so good that I took it home with me. Who ever heard of such a thing?! + Breakfast served 7 to 11:30 on the weekends + Breakfast consisted of: glorious fresh fruit, pineapple, watermelon, cantaloupe, strawberries, blueberries, and giant plump blackberries and raspberries; scrambled eggs with shredded cheese, salsa, and chopped scallions on the side; italian, white, and cinnamon breads; raisin bagels; orange, apple, and cranberry juices; ice water, coffee, and tea; a waffle maker and premixed batter; four dry cereals; instant oatmeal packets; several varieties of yogurt; and a basket of whole apples, bananas, and oranges. +/- Tap water is fine to drink, but does not come out cold +/- Shower is quick to heat up but very slow to drain. Also, the curtain is so thick that the stall becomes very dark. +/- Electronic key cards for the buildings, but metal keys for the rooms

Is there a better and more unique place to stay in Detroit? If there is, please let me know when you find it, but even then I would find it very hard to believe... The Inn on Ferry Street sets a standard that really is nearly impossible to match. The four impeccably restored Victorian mansions and two carriage houses make up the Inn, located in the heart of the Historic District of Midtown Detroit. The attention to detail is simply amazing, as are the staff who are dedicated to providing "above and beyond" customer service. The staff is welcoming, gracious and accommodating from the moment you cross the threshold at the reception, which is located in the Scott House, former residence of renowned architect John Scott. Throughout your stay, you cannot help to notice how friendly all the employees are from the gentleman that mans the free local shuttle to the housekeepers who tidy your room and have no problem helping you out if you ask for extra towels or in my case, an extra coffee packet or two. Really, really honest to goodness good people who always put the customer first. I have had the opportunity to stay at the Inn on Ferry Street twice over the past two years, each time for a week and each time in a different mansion. Both rooms have been well appointed, and are certainly worthy of more than the three stars they are rated at. The price was also very good, I've had best results contacting the Inn directly for a super good rate. Staying in a historic mansion is really cool if you are a history buff at all and it is a delight to find out who built the house and who lived there over the years. I mean where else can you stay in the former mansion of a railroad baron, as I did on my last stay, at such an affordable price? Overall, the amenities that are provided by the Inn on Ferry Street are top notch. Make sure you hit the breakfast each morning as it is not only a great selection of food to fuel your day but a neat gathering place where you can socialize with the other guests in the parlor, if you so desire. Or you can simply relax with a piping hot cup of fresh Starbucks coffee and read the morning paper. Hey, you might even let go and daydream a bit, and pretend that it is your house that you are sitting in and it is indeed early 1900... The comfort of home is really what the Inn on Ferry Street conveys to me. Well, "home" if my house was a mansion built in the late 1800's :) This is what the large luxury chains strive so hard to provide, but all too often fail to achieve. The Inn on Ferry Street nails it dead on, and I wouldn't stay any other place when visiting Detroit.

Great place! We always stay here during the auto show. The place is quaint and located in a quiet neighborhood near Wayne State University. The staff is friendly, the rooms are great, and the breakfast is top-notch. It's located a block away from several museums and restaurants. The staff really goes out of their way to make you comfortable. This last visit the heater stopped working in my room and they not only helped me move my stuff to a new room but also upgraded me for free for the trouble. Great people and great place to stay!

4.5 stars! The most comfy and beautiful place I have stayed at. The Victorian style of the houses are to die for. I LOVE it! The staff are really nice and the receptionist is there 24 hours. There is a little living room next to the receptionist where you can just sit and relax. There is a guest room upstairs of the main house where you can print your itinerary and a big wooden table if you need to hold a meeting. There is also a spacious restroom by the "living room" that you can use. We got two rooms. They are all different with different sheets and furniture. My dad said that his room didn't have a couch chair or a telephone. I am not sure since I didn't check out his room. There was a few minor issues with my room. The bathroom door was really hard to close. You have to use a lot of force. My bathroom sink dripped and the one window that you can open had to be held in place by a roll of toilet paper. My shower door didn't keep all the water out and it leaked onto the granite. The room itself was well stocked. There is a small closet that housed a fan, heater, extra sheets, hairdryer, iron, iron board, toilet paper, tissues, and extra sheets and pillow. They only give you about five hangers. They slip a newspaper under your door on the weekdays. I am not sure about Sat as I didn't stay there Sat morning. The Inn offers a complementary water bottle, cookie, tea, coffee, and a breakfast served 7am-11am. I love their breakfast. It is buffet style with scrambled eggs that you can top with shredded cheddar cheese, green peppers, and green onions. You can also make your own waffles and yogurt with strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, etc. They offered 6 different types of bread/bagels. I love their sourdough bread! Pound cake, cereal, granola bars, yogurt, fruits. Starbucks coffee, apple juice, cranberry juice, orange juice, coffee, ice water, tea. I love their breakfast! They also offer a complementary shuttle within 5 miles of the Inn. Both of the drivers we had was very friendly and kind of like a tour guide. There is a couple restaurants within walking distance of the hotel and also a CVS. I would love to stay here again.

I thought my thousandth review should be on a really positive note so I'm excited to share this hidden gem. It's off the beaten path but definitely worth venturing to. I really can't say enough about this place. It was really a great experience. I had booked on Hotwire's secret deal for a downtown hotel. It was 95% rated, and honestly, I thought it was going to be the Hilton Garden. That's our go-to downtown hotel. When my deal popped and I saw the Inn on Ferry Street, I had never heard of it before. It was well up north, just south of 94, but in a nicer neighborhood. The grounds are really well kept, there's parking in the back, there's a complimentary breakfast, it's historical, there's 5 or 6 different houses they lodge you in, they have real keys for their rooms, and the service was very friendly and outgoing the entire time. What we really loved was the complimentary shuttle they offer. They'll take you in any direction as long as it's 5 miles or less. Downtown for the game was a quick hop. Joe, their driver was great and even came and scooped us up later that evening. The room we stayed in at John R House was quaint and clean. Since it was on the first floor there was a lot of street noise and people coming down the stairs in the morning but we liked our accommodations. We'd request an upstairs room next time, however. The bed was comfortable and the four pillows came as 2 firm and 2 soft. I'd give this place an easy 4.5 stars. The entire staff was great and the hotel itself was a nice break from downtown corporate/ casino type options. Yes, you're not exactly in the heart of the action but it was a nice bed and breakfast feeling getaway.

This was my favorite place to stay! The staff is so nice and the buildings are stunning. I loved the complimentary breakfast and shuttle. It was very helpful in a new city. I will definitely be back again.

I highly recommend the Inn if you're heading to the Motor City. My boyfriend and I, Texans, are over the next few summers visiting all thirty baseball stadiums. Over July 4th weekend we headed for a 3 city trip starting with Detroit. When it came time to check out and head to Cleveland I did NOT want to leave. I booked our two night stay through the AmEx travel site months in advance. The day before we left Houston I called the Inn to confirm our reservation and they'd never heard of me. Uh oh. After about 1.5 hours of calls between me, AmEx, and the Inn we finally got it straightened out. Phew. I'm still not sure whose fault it was but the Inn was super helpful and understanding. When we arrived the next day and I said my name the front desk lady apologized for the inconvenience and was very friendly. Our room in the Pungs house was just beautiful with many windows making it bright and lovely. There were even fresh cookies and bottles water waiting for us! I found the Inn in a travel guide but booked it based on the Yelp reviews and specifically the shuttle service. The shuttle service was AMAZING. Especially for something like the Tigers game. A number of people from the Inn went to the game and we all agreed upon an area outside the Fox Theater for after the game and like clockwork the shuttle was waiting for us. He also gave us a number to call too so you don't have to pre-arrange a pick up, it just worked out for us. The breakfast was incredible too. I'm not sure why anyone is complaining because I thought there were plenty of options. Waffles, eggs, toast, bagels, fresh fruit, cereal, granola bars, yogurt...if you can't find a delicious breakfast in there well that's on you. This absolutely gorgeous Inn is centrally located in a great area, has lovely staff, and has a 24 hour shuttle service so if you're going to Detroit you'd just be silly not to book at the Inn.

On arrival I was blown away - the Inn is located within a row of historic homes. You check in at the central house, where they have check-in and you go for breakfasts in the mornings. They'll then direct you to a room in one of the homes in the row, which are all stunning. Card keys to get access to the house, and then old keys to get access to the room itself. Rooms were spacious and gorgeous, with chocolate chip cookies waiting for us in the room next to some bottled water. Pretty perfect. Bed was large and super comfortable, and the sleep quality was good. If I had to complain, I'd say that due to the old nature of the house there wasn't a lot of noise dampening - and you could hear doors opening and closing and people walking around from inside your room - the doors also closed a little hard in the house I stayed in. Things quieted down at night though, and I had no trouble sleeping. Breakfast was in the main house and consisted of a nice mix of offerings - tea/coffee, eggs, mini quiche, pastries, cereal, yogurt, oatmeal, etc. Great location in Midtown, just a short walk around the corner to Wayne State and some great restaurants. Would very happily stay here again!

Let me start by saying that this is a beautiful historic property in a lovely, safe neighborhood with a great free shuttle to get around. If you're looking to experience the history of Detroit, stay here. However, if you're thinking about booking this property for a large group, read on. We booked 2 houses here for our wedding, and we could not have been more disappointed with the process start to finish. We loved the idea of sharing houses with friends, and this seemed like a great option - we also live only about a mile away, so we didn't need a hotel for our wedding, but this was going to be our wedding splurge for ourselves. Despite giving management our dates, we were shown houses that we were later told were unavailable, the booking process was incredibly complicated for both us and our guests, and then guests who decided to stay a couple extra nights where told they would have to move rooms once, or even twice, during their stay. There were fees for everything, from a fridge to info cards in the rooms, and when we had guests cancel last minute due to a family emergency, there was no flexibility or understanding in room charges, we were billed for everything. When we checked in there was yet more confusion over billing for some of the rooms. But moreover, no one even smiled at us during check in or made us feel welcome in the slightest, not even the person who had given us our initial tour. The fridge we requested wasn't in our room, so we re-requested it and then went out to set up our rehearsal dinner. When we returned very late the night before the wedding after breaking down the rehearsal, a dirty fridge was in the room with a box of rancid chicken wings inside... Needless to say I did not sleep well that night. Upon checkout, there was yet more confusion over the bill, and the person at the desk couldn't even explain $1000 line items to us. It was so confusing that my now husband had to stay at the inn to try and work it out and was late to our wedding brunch, without having figured it out so that the manager had to call the next week to explain all the charges. At that point she still didn't acknowledge the comment card we had written with a simple "I'm sorry," until I again brought up our displeasure with our stay. I've had friends book hotels for weddings where they were comped beautiful suites and left lavish welcome baskets, and this inn wouldn't even comp a room cancelled last minute for a family emergency, and generally made us feel like second class citizens on our wedding night. The manager at the end offered us a free night to use in the future, but why would we ever want to stay there again at this point? A little bit of hospitality during our stay would have been infinitely better. We also booked a block at the Trumbull and Porter for the guests this inn couldn't accommodate, and everyone there had a phenomenal time, we weren't charged fees for anything, and they were very flexible when the room block didn't fill. I'd recommend looking there instead for a group.

Beautiful bed and breakfast in the heart of Detroit. Our room was very unique. The staff at the B&B were kind and helpful. To be a B&B the prices were reasonable and including breakfast. My only tip would be to make reservations well in advance because they book up really quick.

This place is adorable!! We stayed here for a family wedding and had a lovely time. The rooms are cozy and have most of the amenities you could need. Our only complaint was that there is zero water pressure, so don't go for the shower, however their bathtubs are huge and perfect for a long soak. Their breakfast is standard in quality but with a great range of food items. There are eggs, salsa, avocado, quiches, and several goodies for those with a sweet tooth (me!) among other things. It worked great for us since most of the people staying at the inn were there for the wedding, so the dining area became a communal hang out. Even the grounds are nice to walk around. They have a special house that is where the bride and groom stayed, and it seemed nice because they had a bit of privacy. I would definitely consider staying here again, but more important, I would recommend this place for anyone planning a large event and who needs to host a moderately sized group.

Charming. Absolutely charming, and in a way people aren't accustomed to anymore. Regal, without all the haughtiness. Yes, charming is the best word to describe the beautiful and historic Inn on Ferry Street. It's as if you've traveled back in time and are experiencing a kind of quiet luxury few of us know today (and most likely, even fewer knew then!). The Inn consists of four Victorian style houses and two carriage houses (check out the Smith Carriage house, you don't see buildings like that anymore). The DIA owned these buildings before they were transformed into what they are today, which gives you an idea of the historical significance of the place. Each building has a different feel, but what they all have in common is beautiful design and elegance that makes you really feel that this could have been your home in another lifetime. There's even a parlor in each house to sit and talk, read, play board games, or get to know the other guests. Much cozier than a lobby! One thing I really appreciated during my stay was the free shuttle service. We were shuttled to and from Roast (yum!) downtown, and we only had to give 20 minutes notice. As for your car, they have a private, gated parking area. The Inn also provides a pretty fabulous (and free) breakfast spread of fresh fruit, coffee, omelets, homemade waffles, and more. Oh, did I mention the homemade cookies at check-in? I truly loved my stay at the Inn. It doesn't just feel like another locale, it feels like another time. Now that's a real vacation! Try the Inn on Ferry Street if you're looking to stay somewhere that feels warmer and friendlier than a hotel. Somewhere with a different, maybe even magical, feel. Life needs a bit of whimsy.

My husband and I went here for our anniversary. It's the nicest hotel we have ever stayed in in our in entire lives. We would describe this hotel as extremely classy. The receptionist was phenomenal. Breakfast was exquisite. Our room was quiet, comfortable, and impeccable. We would definitely come back. There is nothing I would add or take away from this fantastic experience.It was a dream come true.

On my first visit to Detroit this past July, I braced myself for a depressed city. Time magazine had just done a cover story on the city's bankruptcy and I had flashbacks to "8 Mile" which blended into scenes of Clint Eastwood talking about Cadillacs to an empty chair and Kwame Kilpatrick bathing in a tub of dollar bills. So, not the stuff weekend vacations are made of. We pulled up to the stretch of properties that make up the Inn on Ferry Street and I was a little shocked. The block is well-maintained and quiet, and the houses themselves would be impressive anywhere, and even more so in the middle of a city. It reminded me of the motto for my own city : urbs in horto, ("city in a garden" for those of you too cool for high school Latin). It was serene and historic and beautiful. Our room (in Pungs House) was very comfortable: updated, sunny and cozy. The bathroom was large and my only issue there is that the shower curtain was so thick, it made the shower itself very dark when closed. Kind of like a blackout curtain to conceal yourself...from your soap. The breakfast contained a variety of offerings, mostly cold: yogurts, cereals, fruit, pastries, some bread and bagels for toasting. There were also eggs and I think a waffle iron. But for me, the berries on the fruit plate were the highlight - they were phenomenal. I'm not sure if we were there during a busy weekend or if we just hit prime breakfast time, but the dining room was crowded. And to maximize table space, they've put one in the middle of the back food room, which cannot be pleasant for the people sitting there. That room is more of a galley and the table must be some kind of transgression in feng shui. Along the same lines (wait for it) there are no lines in the parking lot to designate spaces. That means on full days, you might be out of luck if people were extra sloppy and left too much space between cars. And if the Evanston-North Whole Foods parking lot has taught me anything, it's that people cannot manage to park even when there *are* lines (http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/whole-foods-market-evanston-2?select=GS5P3nSVMe1kMxg6oGkyag#E0utsxfDxFYEmj4NyYixeA). But, on the bright side, and it's a very bright side, you may not need to drive once you arrive. There is a shuttle that will drop off and pick up guests anywhere within a five mile radius, at any time. We used this service to get to and from a Phillies game (sorry, Tigers game) and it was extremely convenient and prompt. Furthermore, our driver was a lifelong Detroit resident and provided some color commentary on the current situation (see first paragraph) as well as general hospitality. So, all things considered, this is a very satisfactory way to experience Detroit. The buildings are formal but comfortable, and the extras (shuttle, 24 hour security of parking lot) let guests be carefree. I recommend it and would return, without hesitation.

My department had a few faculty candidates stay at the Inn on Ferry Street. Beautiful old rooms and they have a nice continental breakfast that when you go you can have a nice little meeting to discuss future plans of hiring or whatever! Check in process appeared to be great - no glitches. The check-out process is also great. You can also order the prospective employee a Metro Car to return them to DTW. Inn on Ferry Street caters to their customers as well as to Wayne State University. Perfect place to stay if you are interviewing for a position downtown Detroit! If you arrive after 5:00 you can also order off of their menu from different area restaurants!

After I wrote my 3 star review, I did what I thought was the responsible thing and copied it and sent it to the Inn on Ferry Street email on their web page. I thought I owed them an honest assessment of how our visit went. Within two hours I received a very concerned response from the owner!! She apologize to us and told us she wanted the opportunity to make it right. She comped our room for our less than stellar experience, and gave us a gift certificate for their Dining in the D gift package. We were finally able to make it back for a weekend, and we stayed in a really nice room with a whirlpool/jacuzzi bathtub (also had a shower). The room had its own thermostat, and the room was a nice size with shower, ironing board, etc. We had dinner at the Whitney and it was fabulous. The package includes: appetizer to split, salad for each, entree for each, dessert and a bottle of wine!! An excellent deal! The Inn made our reservation so all we had to do was get there on time. We were able to tour the entire Whitney and the staff was excellent. At the Inn, we were able to relax and have a romantic evening after dinner. We really enjoyed the staff and the room!! Breakfast was absolutely wonderful and the dining room had plenty of space, tables, and the buffet was being restocked at a good pace. We will definitely be back to this charming and beautiful place. The owners and staff are committed to their guests having the best stay possible, and I'm glad we were given the chance to really enjoy ourselves!!

Another day, another business trip. I try to find little ways to make one night travel to not-so-exotic locations feel a big more glam and Inn on Ferry Street did just that. I cannot say enough good things about the staff, the hotel and the history. Everyone at the hotel was extremely helpful, brought me a toothbrush and fixed my TV even! I was very pleased with the room and loved the attention to detail and efforts to highlight the history of the place. I slept like a drugged baby. THANK YOU.

This is my first trip to Detroit and wasn't sure what to expect. The Inn on Ferry Street is a group of Victorian era Mansions all on one block. The architecture is of the homes is beautiful. My room is lovely and charming with lots of attention to detail. The public spaces are just as nice, I was impressed at the options available for the self-serve breakfast. There is also a complimentary shuttle that will take and pick you up wherever you need to go around the neighborhood, which was super helpful since I was there for a few days.

It is relatively easy for a hotel to receive a positive review when everything goes well, but the true value of an establishment shows in how they deal with issues and problems that may arise during a stay. My husband and I stayed at the Inn on Ferry Street this weekend to enjoy an impromptu get-away sans kids. The price is reasonable, staff is welcoming, rooms are clean, the atmosphere is interesting, and the location (walking distance to the midtown museums) was fantastic. Given that we have two young children at home and I'm pregnant with our third, we were both really looking forward to a restful night. Unfortunately, several other guests staying at the Inn had other ideas. A wedding party decided to bring the raucous celebration back to their rooms in the early morning hours and it was like trying to sleep in the middle of a college frat party. I get the impression this is not something that happens often at at Inn on Ferry, which does not seem like the type of place that would normally attract that kind of guest. I was extremely impressed, however, with the way the front desk handled a difficult situation. We enjoyed our weekend in Detroit immensely - if you go make sure to check out the Detroit Artists Market a few blocks down the street from the DIA. They are a small gallery that features a number of local artists and host some very interesting exhibits.

Rooms and buildings were gorgeous and clean. Easy check-in and a super convenient free shuttle - everyone we came across was super helpful and friendly. The free breakfast did the job, and the price was good. We'd stay here again.

My boyfriend and I stayed in the Pungs House, a mansion with a quaint greystone fascade. Our room was cute, cozy, clean and well maintained. The room didn't feel like an over-sterilized hotel room . . . you know the kind of which I speak. Rather, it was like a very nice guest room in your parent's house. Highlights: -Parking lot behind the Scott House -Congenial, helpful and organized staff -Complimentary cookie (which I learned is baked fresh in the Scott House) and bottle of water in room upon arrival -Complimentary Tazo tea and Starbucks coffee in room -Complimentary breakfast buffet in the morning: individual waffle service, fresh fruit (strawberries, blackberries, raspberries, blueberries, cantaloupe, pineapple and more), scrambled/boiled eggs and toppings (cheddar cheese, green pepper and more), cereal, oatmeal, bagels, toast, yogurt, 3 types of juice, Starbucks coffee, Tazo tea . . . and maybe more! To be honest, my eyes stopped roaming after noticing the individual waffle service! -Complimentary shuttle service to any place within a 5 mile radius -Complimentary, no fuss WiFi that's fast enough to stream videos The major negative to this place is that people from the neighborhood come in and out of the Scott House for the free food and beverages. These people probably know the staff or owner in some way, but their comings and goings break the magic and romance of the environment. If and when I stay here again, I will lounge in the parlor of the house I'm staying in rather than the Scott House parlor.

I had a vintage Detroit themed wedding and this is where I stayed, which was really perfect for my day. I spent three days at the Inn On Ferry Street and I cannot wait to come back. In fact, I am planning my return for our anniversary... It is quaint, charming, stunning, historical, it is tops in my book. There are 40 rooms located in the Victorian Homes and Carriages Houses, once owned by DIA. Each room is different. I loved the little details from the awesome cds from local musicians i.e. Mayer Hawthorn to the fresh baked cookies from the honored Avalon Bakery. Every morning fresh breakfast was served which included Great Lakes Coffee, which is roasted in Detroit. Baked goods from Avalon are free to nibble on throughout the day, enjoy them by the grand piano or roaring fireplace. If you get hungry they have a bevy of Detroit edibles for noshing like McClure's Pickle potato chips and Traverse City Sour Cherries...Rich wood, winding staircases, lead windows set the perfect backdrop for photos. I think the gazebo under the willow tree, near the carriage house would be a great place for an intimate wedding ceremony. I totally LOVED the free shuttle...we dropped off our marriage license and hit up Green Dot Stables....PLUS, they took me to my wedding and all of my guests. If you are having a wedding downtown, the Inn gave us a group rate, and we took over an entire house...it was so nice having breakfast with my family and wedding guests. The only thing it lacked was a mini fridge...I hear updates are coming. The Inn on Ferry Street is a gem in Detroit. It is very close to my heart and I am so thrilled to have cherished memories forever of the Inn.

I suggest paying a little more to stay at a little better place. The rooms have drafty window and come with a slight mildew smell. My wife and I both left sick after staying there. Also beware of their unclear policies on checking out. We checked out at 9AM 1 day early and they stated that we still had to pay for the full night's room. Apparently you have to let them know 24 hours in advance if you are checking out. They essentially treat it as if you are cancelling your reservation. This is a little shady given that check-in is at 3PM giving them enough time to clean and use them room for someone else

I was looking for a way to surprise my hubby for Sweetest Day; I wanted to leave the house completely for the day, but no drive hours away. My dear friend Nancy suggested a B&B in Detroit and she raved about the Inn on Ferry Street. After visiting various B & B sites, the Inn's included, and narrowing it down and talking to the helpful staff at the Inn via phone, I decided to reserve a room. My husband is very picky, so I was hoping and praying it was awesome...and it was! The location is awesome, just a block from the DIA on a very nice, quant street. The lawns and chain of old historic homes that make up the Inn, were just gorgeous to look at and walk around in the lovely fall weather! Our 3rd floor room, for about $160, was AWESOME! Large ceilings, light-giving windows, fresh and vibrant wall colors, 4 poster king sized bed with ultra-comfortable linens---I was in heaven! 2 other selling points: My husband and I caught a musical at City Theatre. The Inn provided free shuttle to and from---saving us oodles on FINDING and PAYING for our own parking (there was a concert at The Fox so we would have been in trouble!) They also provided a scrumptous European FREE breakfast in the morning. Fresh fruits of all sorts, waffles, eggs, toast, a pound cake my husband couldn't stop eating, Starbucks coffee and a variety of other beverages. CHECK OUT the INN! Next time we go we plan to check out the Wasabi Restaurant within walking distance.....

This may be my all-time-favorite hotel/B&B, for its pure coziness, serenity, and beauty. I almost always stay here when I come to Detroit (if rooms are available), which is about once a month. All of the Victorian mansions are absolutely beautiful and the rooms are really comfortable. I'm often put in a room that has a big bedroom, plus a side parlor with a pull out couch. The included breakfast is really nice, with great make-your-own waffles, nice scrambled eggs, and excellent coffee. There's always fresh fruit, coffee, and little chocolates available in the lobby/living room around the clock. I've held many meetings in the upstairs business center and have occasionally hosted larger meetings in the lovely carriage house. The Inn has free Internet, van service that can take you to and pick you up from nearby locations, and free parking in the back parking lot. The cost is typically less than the big downtown hotels. There's also access to a nearby gym, though I've never used it. I would love to bring my family to Detroit for a vacation, partly because I want them to experience this wonderful B&B. That's how much I like this place.

I stayed at the Inn On Ferry Street in January for two nights, while I was in town for work. The city had a cold spell just as I arrived from my native California. So, needless to say, I was in for a real experience. During a couple days of meetings and outdoor walking tours of project sites, I would return to the Inn tired and literally frozen to the bone. The classic style, decor, and furnishings of the Inn's various buildings (all converted homes from the late 1800s), really lent to a relaxing atmosphere, and the spacious room and roomy bath tub allowed me to fully thaw out and relax each evening. A healthy breakfast bar in the lobby also provided quick fuel each morning before heading out (and bracing myself for the cold). Compared to traditional high-rise business-travel hotels, the Inn On Ferry Street was a fantastic alternative in the heart of downtown Detroit (though nestled into a quiet side street).

I love this place. I stayed her the night before and the night of my wedding. The location is great - right off Woodward in Midtown. They have a shuttle that will run you anywhere within 5 miles, and a free parking lot behind the main building. There are several buildings - I stayed in the main one which is where reception is and where the daily breakfast is served. The staff was so helpful and nice throughout my stay. They gave me a great room - a huge and super comfortable king bed, jacuzzi tub, and sitting room, for about $150 a night. They also let us use the other buildings for our pictures. The ground are impeccable, the houses are furnished with beautiful antiques and great woodworking, and I love the history there. The breakfast was wonderful - coffee, juice, eggs, pastries, and a make your own waffle station. They also have a hospitality cart in the evenings stocked with water, soda, beer and wine. Just tell the receptionist what you had and they will charge it to your room. They also have a space for private events.

My husband and I stayed here for our 6 year wedding anniversary this past weekend. It is a beautiful historic home. We stayed in a Queen Deluxe and it was very cozy. Here are my pros and cons: Pros: Perfect location to walk anywhere in midtown. The DIA is literally 5 minutes away. We had dinner at Selden Standard and it took us about 20 minutes. We love walking whenever we get a chance so it was really convenient for us. The Inn provides you with a free shuttle service within a 5 mile radius. They will drop you off and pick you up! The Inn is beautifully maintained and clean. Compared to other major hotels in downtown Detroit, we thought this was affordable. Cons: Because our room was on the main floor (right in the lounge...we didn't know), we could hear people hanging out in the lounge, coming and going...thin walls, I think. The person who checked us in was very nice, but didn't give us any information about the Inn, breakfast times...etc. We are used to better service than what we experienced at this Inn. The Inn does not have any DVDs if you are wanting to watch a movie. This is more of a hotel than a B&B. Again, we are used to better amenities for guests from our other B&B experiences. However, now that we know what to expect, we would go back. Nice rooms, good price, and great location!

I had a very enjoyable stay and will return. This bed and breakfast has been restored wonderfully. It's extremely cozy and comfortable. The bed was difficult to get out of because it was so warm and pleasant. The staff was amazing. I encountered three guys who made sure my stay was satisfying. I also used the Inn"s free van service and the driver was ridiculously nice and accommodating. I fell sick and let's say the driver looked out for me a lot. I wish I remembered all the staffs name I encountered because they are definitely worth mentioning for this post. I'm not sure the van service is year round or just seasonal but they take you and pick you up at events in the surrounding area. The cookies in my room were great. ( of course because they are from Avalon bakery ). They had a menu in the room that was filled with restaurants in the neighborhood that I frequent and enjoy. I had a great experience here.
