The Inn on Officers Garden

My friend and I stayed at the Inn on Officers’ Garden for three nights while visiting Calgary, and we truly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The location is exceptional, the accommodations are beautiful and comfortable—but what truly sets this place apart is the service. We have never experienced such genuine hospitality and such a warm, welcoming atmosphere. From the moment we arrived, we felt completely at home. A special thank you to Bobby and Sean, who were incredibly generous with their time and went above and beyond to accommodate our “special requests” with such care and kindness. This is truly a hidden gem. While it’s conveniently close to some great restaurants, the inns own restaurant is outstanding and not to be missed. We would highly recommend staying here and would return in a heartbeat.

This review pertains to our dining experience in their restaurant. My wife and I had a wonderful meal that included soup, appetizer, fillet mignon, and dessert. We were warmly greeted upon our arrival, and seated at a lovely table for 2 next to the indoor tree in a room with a warm and relaxing ambience. Our server Bobby is a knowledgeable sommelier who treated us as special guests throughout our whole evening, and shared with us some insights on wine pairings, suggested ideal choices, and even provided a rare and special treat at the end. The meal was excellent is all regards, and my wife expressed that it was one of the best she'd ever had. So we extend our gratitude and commend Chefs Richard and Lucas on their skills and attention to the culinary delights. It was obvious to us that these individuals take pride in the food and service they offer, and based upon our evenings experience we will definitely be back, and highly recommend their venue for those wishing a fine dining experience.

Restaurant is welcoming, clean, well organized, busy at 10:55am. It looks like they have several events setting-up. I had very attentive dinning room staff that looks like an officer Don and another guy who likes to refill my water & warms my coffee Everette. Had a good lunch experience here

I stayed there on January 4th, and it felt like stepping straight into royalty. The suite is beautifully decorated with elegant, historical touches — including lovely pictures of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip from their actual visit to Calgary. Every detail transports you back in time while still offering all the modern comfort you could want. It's not just a room; it's a piece of living history that makes you feel like true royalty for the night. The entire property exudes timeless charm, blending its 1930s heritage with thoughtful, cozy updates. The atmosphere is warm, intimate, and incredibly special — perfect for anyone who appreciates boutique heritage stays over generic hotels. I can't recommend this place enough. If you want to feel pampered, connected to Calgary's fascinating past, and genuinely like a queen (or king!), book the Queen Elizabeth Suite at The Inn on Officers' Garden without hesitation. Had an amazing time with my husband here!! The food was amazing, servers were extremely polite and friendly. The room we stayed in was clean and the bed was comfy. Loved every minute we spent here!! Definitely will make it a point to always come here 🥰

I wanted to express my appreciation for the amazing job the Inn at Officers Garden did for us on Nov 22, 2025. We rented the pub for a birthday party/dinner and it was fantastic. The team of Ranjith, Leanne, Xavier, Everett, Andrea (and the young bartender) were exceptional. Amazing at their craft and “great” people. I had many compliments from attendees about the food, service and venue. I can’t thank you enough for making this such a memorable experience. The restaurant was tuned in completely with our timing and the “surprise” element for my wife was perfect. Everyone was fed and had wine or prosecco ready. When my wife stepped into the pub it was magical. I am so impressed.Thanks again for your fine efforts. A great time was had by all. You have an amazing team and fantastic venue.

Thank you for the wonderful visit over the weekend of Jan 29 - Feb 1-26 We were very impressed with the Inn on many fronts and were made to feel comfortable and very much at home throughout our stay. We enjoyed every aspect of the Inn --- from the efficiently-laid-out and comfortable rooms to the friendly and welcoming staff. The Inn itself boasts a rich history and reflections of its past can be seen throughout building incl. pictures of a younger Queen Elizabeth who visited Calgary many years ago. It is within walking distance of a few great restaurants and also appears to be a favourite with local Calgarians who filled the beautiful dining room at dinner and weekend brunches. The atmosphere is most charming and the staff really made our stay a memorable one. Shout out to the staff, all of whom were friendly, professional and very accommodating. No doubt there would be more if we had met others but special mention goes out to Mughit who took care of us at breakfast, Sean and Bobby who accommodated unique requests and made it possible to us to watch my son's hockey game, Nejat and Bets who took care of our rooms and Xavier, Milla, Annette and Thomas who made us feel like we were at home. We can't thank you enough for a wonderful stay and highly recommend the Inn for anyone travelling to Calgary.

Originally built in the 1930s as the Officers’ Mess for Currie Barracks, this beautiful brick‑and‑mortar structure was where military officers gathered for meals, camaraderie, and celebrations long before it became the charming boutique hotel and restaurant it is today. Its heritage architecture, original fireplaces, and thoughtful restoration honor its past while offering every modern convenience. During its long history, the building has even hosted Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip during a visit in the early 1950s—history you can feel as you walk through the rooms. ||Our group of three enjoyed a lovely dinner in the wonderful restaurant. My steak was cooked to perfection, and the salmon was the best my niece has ever had in a restaurant—absolutely delightful. They make a wicked Velvet Hammer, which took me right back to my 20s!||The Inn has 12 charming rooms, and mine was spotless, quaint, and comfortable—just everything you need for a restful stay. Our server, Everett, went above and beyond with great conversation and a deep knowledge of the Inn’s history, which made the evening even more memorable. Breakfast was included, and our morning server was equally delightful and attentive.||If you’re looking for a great dining experience with historic charm and exceptional service, this place is a must‑try. Highly recommended!
