Was here to celebrate my daughter's 40th birthday with family the meal was out of this world the staff so friendly and always went out of their way to oblige not just us as customers but the rest of the restaurant. Our table had terrific view of the Tay River the only one issue I had with my seat there was an old safe behind me which made it awkward to get in and out of my seat.It was awkward for me but it didn't spoil my experience of having an excellent meal. Make no mistake my family and I will be back to this place again. 10/10 from my family and me.

I have ate in a lot of restaurants across Scotland and I can honestly say this is by far the best. The food was amazing, the pies are cooked to perfection, my partner had a pizza and it was delicious. Fantastic service with very friendly staff, generous sized cocktails. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough, I will be making this my go to place every time I am in the area.

We stayed overnight on the last leg of a 2.5 week tour of Scotland and Orkney, in the pouring rain. Our room was very comfortable and spacious and overlooked the Tay. It had a decent ensuite shower but no bath. The bar and dining rooms were beautifully lit and comfortable. Dinner was homely and delicious and there were very reasonable options for my wife, who is coeliac. Breakfast, too, was excellent. But the best part of the stay was the welcome from the exceptionally friendly staff.

Had an excellent meal at this gem of a place while staying in the (also excellent) campsite over the road. They made us feel very welcome, the service was fantastic, the setting is gorgeous and we had a wonderful view out over the river. Food was delicious.

A group of 7 friends, we booked for dinner here. The setting is lovely. They have a lovely bar and as they had a function on, we were booked into the "outside"room, which was actually inside and very nice. Pie if the day was AMAZING; chicken and mushroom but without the usual creamy gloop you often get, it had a lovely juice and was entirely contained within beautiful pastry. Others in our party had fabulous haddock and chips and steak burgers;all reported to be delicious! Gotta say the staff were very professional and friendly. Highly recommend.

Told about this place from where we were staying. Lovely place, great view of the rapids. Staff were great, really friendly. There is a dog friendly section too, better to book in advance. Food was great, Gnocchi and the steak and haggis pie. Sticky toffee pudding and coconut panacotta were also very nice.

Really lovely staff and the room was amazing. Nicely decorated, cozy and spacious, with everything we needed. The kind of hotel room you can pass the time in comfortably if the weather is bad, not just a place to lay your head down at night. The food was outstanding, I highly recommend having dinner at the restaurant, and breakfasts were very good too. It's situated in very beautiful countryside.

Came in for food and drinks after settling in to the nearby campsite for Heartland Festival. Food and service are top notch. Lovely views over the Tay. Stayed for the pub quiz. Lots of fun. Access using my electric wheelchair was good. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Can't comment on the rooms but bar was excellent.

Yelp
We chose to try this restaurant as it came highly recommended by our B&B host - so, we would like to clarify that this review is not for the food as we never had the chance to try it. We also chose it because it had decent reviews, was one of only a few restaurants in the area, and the pictures of the food looked good. We arrived around 7:45 PM, an hour before closing, but didn't have a reservation. Although we are accustomed to places that are full and completely understand if no seating is available, this Sunday evening was exceptional. A hostess greeted us and asked if we had a reservation. We said that we did not and she promptly stated that they were completely booked and that there was no room for us without a reservation. I asked if we could simply attend the bar for a drink instead and she again shut me down by saying "No, we're fully booked." Generally, I'm accustomed to a bit of politeness. Perhaps apologizing or offering to make a reservation for me on another night may have been nicer. Alternatively, why not let us at least have a drink at the bar? I think what put us off was the stern tone and shortness that the hostess took with us. Her quick ability to deny us twice in a matter of seconds was surprising. We wouldn't recommend going here without a reservation. Instead we had to travel 9.4 miles to Pitlochry and enjoy Victorias Restaurant instead as no other restaurants were open in this area at that time. Victorias turned out to be quite good and we would definitely recommend going there instead of this Inn on the Tay. We also post more reviews on our EatWanderExplore travel blog.

Yelp
Great location beside the river Tay. Modern restaurant with traditional Scottish touches of design. Separate bar area with leather and velvet couches and chairs. The Inn decoration and style warrents a higher star rating but the overall experience brings it down :( The waitresses were efficient but lacked personality or warmth, little engagement before, during or after the order for food taken, disappointing. The steak and mushroom pie was full of chucks of beef with a good flavoured gravy. The sweet potato chips delicious. What a shame, a fab looking place but I wouldn't rush back. Xoxo

Yelp
Found this place by chance when looking for somewhere to have Sunday lunch recently. Really glad we did because the burgers were amazing! Attentive and helpful staff made for a nice relaxing lunch. Great view of the river and the kayaks braving the slalom course. Will definitely stop in again when back in the area.

Yelp
Wanted to eat here earlier today (New Year's day) and was lured in by the sign outside that said "Food served all day" but as we got inside we were told by the lady on duty that only residents were welcome and we couldn't eat there. As we were ushered out, she promptly locked the door behind us to make sure we didn't get back in. Pity such a great location is serviced so badly. Won't go there again. Happy New Year to you too...
