We stayed 2 days at Dr. Heritch's house, the 2nd building of the Inn Ste. Gemme, just across from the main inn.
The inn is beautiful, historical, and well-located for enjoying the great local shops and historical places in town, which are all walkable.
Our room, the Ste. Genevieve suite, was very nice, and prettier than online. It could use a new comforter set (the mustard yellow and burgundy is a bit of an eye sore with the otherwise tasteful old decor). The bed was comfy and the deep tub was a treat.
Breakfast was nice. The offerings include coffee, tea, and juice, a bread of the day, fruit or oatmeal, and a main. As a vegetarian, my options were eggs and toast, pancakes, or an over-the-top French toast. I envied the meat eaters quiche option! Pancakes were tasty enough, eggs and toast pretty basic.
Due to the wedding we were in town for, we were unable to enjoy the tea or wine hours. We did take advantage of the game room as a place to gather with some fellow out-of-towners post wedding. This is the only real problem I had with the place. It was the only indoor gathering place, but very basement-y. A few couches and a collection of TVs. It smelled musty, but I suspect there's a lot of mold down there due to the world class allergy attack that started about 15 minutes in. I started sneezing and probably sneezed 20 times in the next hour. The next day the annexing actually continued. Ugh!
Overall, a lovely place in a lovely town! Worth a stay, but avoid the basement.
