TIL's ID Rachel Kam was our Project MANAGER (PM). Rachel took on the challenge to work with our directly appointed specialists. She consistently displayed her professionalism with her calm disposition to challenges that cropped up in the project and with the specialists. She owned the whole project although there were specialists, taking on our behalf the coordination needed to realise our requirements. She was meticulous and mindful in keeping to the budget. We are so glad to have worked with Emma as our ID from TIL. From the very beginning to the end of the project, she has been very responsive and accountable. Whenever we had any queries or issues, she always responded immediately and proposed great solutions. During the ideas brainstorming stage, we also saw that Emma always tries her best to work with us to bring our ideas to life. However, whenever our ideas were not feasible, she was also not afraid to let us know, so that we can understand and know the full implications before moving forward. We are appreciative that she was very patient throughout this process. To us, what was most important is that we hope to work with someone that is experienced, since our home is very important to us. To that end, we have always felt that we were in good hands, because Emma indeed has extensive industry knowledge to help us navigate this very long process as smooth as she can, and she was also able to help us to avoid any renovation pitfalls. Even when she was away, Emma still brought along her laptop and stayed communicative with us throughout the process, and did not compromise on her work at all. Her work ethic is impeccable, which having gone through this long and arduous renovation process, we realized that is probably the most important attribute that one would want to have in an ID. Emma was recommended to us by one of our mutual friends, and we are glad we made the right choice to go with her and TIL for our home renovation.

We had a great experience working with Wei Kai as our interior designer. What really stood out from the start was how he asked about our lifestyle and how we envisioned living in our home. Out of the 11 IDs we met, he was the only one who did — it showed that he truly cared about designing a home that fit us, not just one that looked good. He’s kind, approachable, and professional, always prompt in arranging works, quick to respond, and generous with helpful advice even when we were shopping for our home. He’s also open-minded, knowledgeable, and accountable, taking time to explain options clearly and resolving any issues quickly. With a bit more regular updates and slightly more attention to detail, the experience would have been close to perfect — but we’re truly happy with how everything turned out. (Photos attached from the day we were supposed to move in) Project Management Concerns and Transparency • Several agreed-upon milestones, including the move-in date and fabrication of items, were not met. This resulted in an extension of our rental tenure. For example, the handover date was moved and subsequently removed from our shared calendar without prior notice. We identified this change upon reviewing the calendar and inquired about the reason. • Certain items were deployed in a manner inconsistent with the provided technical drawings or without prior approval. We had to identify these discrepancies and proactively brought them to the company's attention for them to attempt rectifications. Instances included electrical power points in incorrect locations, variations in door frame heights, discrepancies in toilet door specifications, and deviations in the construction of the kitchen island. Communication and Material Selection Issues • After selecting laminates within the budget and timeline, we were informed a week before carpentry commencement that: o The laminates would not be available on time. o They were unsuitable for certain carpentry requirements, such as molding into curves for the kitchen island base. o The cost would increase by SGD$8,000. • The 3D renders provided did not accurately reflect the original briefs and alignments. The final renders differed significantly from the completed work. Execution and Workmanship Observations • On the scheduled day for moving bulky items, the house was unprepared. Debris was present throughout, most cabinets lacked doors, and there were inconsistencies in door designs. We were not informed of these conditions beforehand. • Decorative elements, such as metal strips on the wall feature, were poorly applied and exhibited warping. One strip has since detached. • Electrical points in low-contact areas have become loose and detached from the wall. • Sealing and paintwork exhibited inconsistencies. Many of these workmanship issues were identified by us and subsequently addressed by the company. Despite multiple rectification attempts, some issues persisted, leading us to engage an independent contractor for further corrections. Acknowledgment • We acknowledge the efforts of one of the co-founders who intervened following our escalations. However, we believe sharing our experience may assist others in making informed decisions when selecting an interior design firm.
