What a great place. Our hostess and server were fabulous. The server noticed that I was cold and moved us to a less air-conditioned spot without me asking. She was so kind. Irish music was playing, and that made everyone clap along and enjoy the evening. But the food! It was so good. My husband ordered the trio of meat pies, a chicken pie, a shepherd's pie, and a steak and mushroom pie. We could easily have shared just that, and both have been more than full. However, I ordered the prime rib steak sandwich with a side of Champ (mashed potatoes and leeks) and gravy. The dishes were amazing, so good, I am still drooling just thinking about them. Try this place out, I would go back in a heatbreat.

This is a great place. I’m so glad we got to experience this wonderful pub. I made reservations and I was very glad we did. The live music was entertaining and not too loud for an early dinner. We both had the French Onion Soup and the prime rib special. The food was fantastic. Watching other people’s food coming out was just an extra treat. My cider on tap was really good as well. I would definitely recommend the Irish Harp Pub if you’re in Niagara on the Lake.

The staff were very nice and arranged a table for us even though we didn’t have a reservation. The lady who served us was very friendly and made us feel at home. I had the liver and onions, which was cooked perfectly. My wife had the mahi-mahi, which was a bit too dry for her taste. The mussels were good too.

Google
I absolutely love this pub, always worth driving out to NOTL for it. However try to avoid the busy days/times as tourists fill this place up. It was quite busy last time we went and both our beers and food were quite delayed (50minutes for food). Excellent pints of Guinness, some of the best you can find in Niagara!! The Irish nachos were also delicious!

Google
The restaurant was beautiful. It had that rustic charm and old world vibe that entranced you. It was so enjoyable to have live music that was done so well. The atmosphere beat the pomp and surface of fine dining and created a place that felt like home. That down to earth cooking made your mouth water and stomach full promoting food that matched the price point. The buffalo chicken Mac and cheese really hit the spot. The servers were friendly and conversational and seemed excited to make sure you had a good experience.

Google
Enjoyed an evening out with some live Jazz music. The staff were exceptional and helpful. We would have eaten more had we not had appetizers somewhere else earlier. Would go back to try some more meals and really enjoyed the atmosphere. My only complaint would be the super bright light from the kitchen which is extremely distracting each time the door opens.

Google
Such a great pub. Service was wonderful and despite a very busy day, we didn't wait long for anything. Food was amazing 👏

Google
Really enjoyed this meal. The French Onion Soup was excellent. Parking is really the only problem in this area. Within walking distance of Main Street and lake. Give this spot a try when in town!

Yelp
Stopped by the Harp for lunch on a Wednesday afternoon. No wait to get seated. Food came out quickly. They have awesome lunch specials. We got the 1/2 Reuben with French onion soup (upgrade charge) and the fish sandwich with lobster bisque (upgrade charge). They had a fire going and was nice a cozy for a lunch.

Yelp
The food was amazing! The service was lacking. We and my wife had a salad and bowl of potato and leek soup. I had the Irish experience which included beef plus ale, shepherds pie, and chicken pot pie. The food was delicious and served hot and fresh. The service started out OK. Welcoming and kind, but at 5 PM everyone disappeared. We waited nearly 20 minutes for someone to come by and provide us with takeout packages and our bill. The manager had come out during this time. It was doing his best to keep up with traffic. Then, all of a sudden, everyone showed back up again in a flurry of activity started. If this is normal, they should let patrons know or check in on them prior to taking their big break. It's also strange when they hand you the Bill machine at the table. They're holding it, so you feel ultra obligated to tap one of the tip choices rather than entering a custom amount. Would recommend a return trip.

Yelp
Gord and I had supper Wednesday evening at The Irish Harp. I had Gold Medal Chicken Curry (chicken | yellow curry | jasmine rice | mango chutney | bread). Mine was okay. Gord had Corned Beef + Cabbage (beef brisket | braised cabbage | jameson demi-glace | champ). He really enjoyed his. Kaitlyn was friendly and took good care of us.

Yelp
This pub is located in the lovely downtown district of NOTL. They have three different seating area: the inside, where the music is really loud; outside along the facade where you can eat on a very narrow table counter facing the street; and a patio area in the back under tent. We opted to sit in the back. It was a little warm, even with the fan blowing, but I figured it beats the headache-inducing music or the weirdness of pedestrians walking by a foot or two in front of me as I consume my meal. They have quite an extensive menu, some Irish pub fare along with some Canadian/American standard grubs. We ordered the fish and chips. They have both haddock and cod and you can actually order one piece of each, if you don't know which fan you are. After we ordered we saw waitstaff walking by with their pies, and the puff pastry looks so fluffy and flaky we regret not ordering it. Next time for sure!!!

Yelp
We stopped in on a drizzly, chilly Sunday, October 13. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. The food was fantastic. We shared an Irish sampler and it was as good as anything we ate while living in England. Bonus for me, they have Magnar's Cider on draft! Our server was fantastic ... so informative and helpful. This was a great lunch!!

Elle F.

Yelp
We had our pup with us and was looking a dinner spot, so happy we found Irish Harp!! Not only is their patio dog friendly but they also have a DOG MENU!! We got our girl the prime rib and brown rice and she devoured it, there was a large serving with chunks of prime rib meat that was super moist- I was able to break down easily with my hands and I didn't want my pup gobbling in one go! I opted for a salad with shrimp, the shrimp was perfectly cooked and succulent!

Yelp
Picturesque Niagara-On-The-Lake is the setting for this authentic feeling Irish pub. It's cozy, it's loud, it's comforting and the vibe is pleasant and comfortable. Our server really knew the menu and was present every time we interacted. We were seated quickly on the entry, quiet side, and had drinks in our hands before 5 minutes passed. As our drinks were delivered our food orders were taken, our server answered all of our questions, as we ordered our Dublin Steak and Guinness Pies. Before I was half way through my first pint, here comes our pie! Rich Guinness gravy, overflowing with the most tender steak, the most delicious mushrooms topped with the fluffiest puff pastry lid. Served with vegetables and champ, I was really delighted to find out so much better than my expectation. Do yourself a favor, put a couple hours aside and go partake of the warm, delicious company of the awesome staff at the Irish Harp.

Darren L.

Yelp
Amazing staff, amazing ambiance, amazing food. What else could you want? Was very busy when we went. Luckily we had a reservation. Even with all the people, they managed to serve use quickly and with a smile.

Doug M.

Yelp
Outstanding meal. Was packed, and a reservation is almost a must. Great selection of local beer, cider, and wine.

Brandon S.

Yelp
The Irish Harp is an authentic Irish Pub serving ice cold drinks and surprisingly excellent food. Upon walking in, you could soak in the local pub feel. We went on a Wednesday in the middle of the tourism off-season and this place was packed with what appeared to be mostly locals. Despite having a large party, we were quickly sat and the server was extremely attentive and friendly. The Dining area appeared clean and pretty well spaced out. I got the reuben sandwich with garlic parmesan fries, and it was fantastic! The rye bread was buttery and toasted to perfection, with a good portion of corned beef, cheese, and dressing stuffed in between. One of the better reuben's I've eaten in my lifetime. I also recommend garlic parmesan fries, however they were a bit oily for my liking. I would 100% be back the next time I visit Niagara by the Lakes.

Jennifer C.

Yelp
Irish charm!!!! Authentic Irish music fills your ears as soon as you walk in. The board advertises live harp music. Hard wood lines the walls and an amazing Irish wood bar. Try the corned beef cabbage egg rolls!

Courtney O.

Yelp
Enjoyed lunch in Niagara on the Lake at the Irish Harp Pub filled with great Irish classics. I got a tasty shepherds pie and my husband got the fish and chips. The shepherds pie was very large. Great portions! I wish there was more sauce. I'm used to the meat being cooked in the sauce but it came separately and was still moist and tasty! When we came, they also had a fun beer sampling going on after a golf tournament. We enjoyed getting to taste a few local brews. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. The back patio was lively with live music. There are some quieter seats around the front that are outside as well. Solid option in the historic area.

Vonda S.

Yelp
Great Irish Pub! The ambience was more than expected. I loved the decor of all things Irish. The smell of a wood burning fireplace drew me in. It was warm and cozy and decorated very tastefully for the holiday season. My husband and I split the Irish Experience. It was a great opportunity to enjoy three different entrees. Very delicious. And our waitress was a sweetheart. We will definitely be back again!!

Miyuru A.

Yelp
Absolutely loved this place. We are now partly Irish, part of the fam (according to the staff) The food was delicious, staff was so friendly and attentive and the ambiance was just "Irish" The jolly good, love life vibe !! If we go back to Niagara-on-the-lake we will definitely be there !!

Joel P.

Yelp
Came here because it was close to our Airbnb and I was pleasantly surprised how good everything was. The servers were very kind and knew the menu extremely well. The dinning area wasn't the biggest but we managed to get a seat really quick. The food was so good and the beer was nice and cold. Great experience with great food makes for a great time. If I'm ever in the area I would definitely make it a point to come here again!!

Samantha C.

Yelp
This place is the only restaurant open late on Niagara on the Lake. It's perfect if you're staying in the area for a wedding. We ordered the nachos and THEY ARE SO WORTH IT! They're made with kettle chips and they give SO MUCH! We added bacon and chicken and it's so worth it! We came back here twice just for the nachos! The staff is also super friendly!

Brenda M.

Yelp
We ordered the Irish Experience Sample platter with a side of Mac & Cheese because we told it was excellent. They were NOT lying. We HURT ourselves finishing off the Mac & Cheese because it was so delish! Wonder wonderful venue for lunch or dinner! Excellent and fast service Nathan!!

Melinda O.

Yelp
Visited Niagara on the Lake and found this cute little Irish pub! We arrived around 2:30pm on a Monday and got a table for 2 with no wait. Food was delicious and huge portions. The Irish spring rolls were my favorite! Our waitress was great and food came out pretty fast! Just what we needed as comfort food for the cold weather.

Bill H.

Yelp
First time. Nice place. Very busy. Close quarters. Good service. A Lillie pricy. I would recommend.

Blair F.

Yelp
Stopped in for an after theatre dinner on a Sunday night. We opted for the outside seating since there was a live trio playing in the bar area. We could still hear them anyway. We got a few pints and shared the Irish Pot Pie Trio along with a bowl of French Onion soup. The pies were excellent. The soup was just ok. The cheese needed to be browned. Our server was great and we gave her a generous tip.

Sunil R.

Yelp
This place is the real deal. At first, I thought it was a tourist trap and thought the Irish music and all the Irish paraphernalia were all too cheesy but it turns out the food is actually very authentic and very good. Everything we ate was excellent. From the Irish "nachos" to the Irish "egg rolls" to the pot pie to the sticky toffee pudding...everything elicited a very positive reaction from everyone. The service was excellent, our waiter Mike was great, very attentive, and authentic.

Jane K.

Yelp
Food was amazing. The bangers and mash along with the Sheppards pie were authentic and delicious

David B.

Yelp
My wife loved her shepherds pie, but I was disappointed in the fish and chips. It was mushy and the fries were bland, as was the coleslaw. Service was great.

Justin J.

Yelp
Very friendly staff and such a nice atmosphere. It sits in a nice little town with shops. The drinks were good I had the Jameson iced tea and my wife had a watermelon drink that was good. The spinach artichoke dip with fresh kettle chips may have been the best I ever had, portion was big! Then my wife got the chicken pot pie with garlic potatoes and asparagus. I got like the sampler and they were hearty meals. Very nicel restaurant!

Sheila G.

Yelp
Difficult to get a seat but we went back on a Sunday evening and were able to sit outside. The food was filling and yummy. Inside there was music but we couldn't get a seat. Good beer and drink choices. I had a fried chicken sandwich. The chicken was tasteless but the condiments made the sandwich. Definitely enough to split between two people. Staff was attentive.

Robert D.

Yelp
Very easy check in with texting to let you know when you are ready. Great atmosphere with traditional Irish feel. The Beer and wine selections were great. The food was beyond our imagination. We had the ribs, chicken pot pie and bangers and mash. My son described it best when he said it tasted home cooked, we couldn't agree more. I would Eat here a few days in a row if I had the time

Amy R.

Yelp
Great food, great service, fitting atmosphere will 12/10 return here again to eat if I'm in the area. We were dining during shift change and it was a seamless transition, they wait staff didn't miss a beat. The Bangers and Mash were some of the best I've ever had. The gravy had a bit of a balsamic like taste to it, but it paired well with the perfectly cooked veggies. The bangers, as they call them, were nicely flavored and cooked. The mac n cheese also very creamy. One of the best dining experiences on our trip.

Yelp
When we saw this restaurant, we knew we had to get a reservation while in town. The inside is very nice, although tables are a bit close together. The outside has some tables too. I started with a Moosehead beer, which I haven't had in ages, but there also was a huge beer menu. Service was decent, not outstanding. There are some great appetizers and entrees from which to choose. We chose the corned beef and cabbage egg rolls for a starter, and couldn't have been more pleased. They were so yummy, and came with a sauce that even added to the flavor. They arrived nice and hot and I could have eaten even more. For my entree I chose the chicken pot pie which came with mashed potatoes. Our food came quickly, and looked great. I wish it had been hotter inside as the taste was great. The pastry was puffy and the gravy was tasty. There wasn't a lot of chicken, I wish there had been more, but it was still good. We were lucky that live music started after we had been there for awhile. The music was great!!!!

Yelp
Atmosphere - Excellent! The restaurant is located a couple of blocks off of the main street in town. It is not large, and so pretty crowded (a concern for those who are concerned about COVID), but the restaurant is fun. It is split into two different types of rooms. One is more like a sports bar with a tv and the other a pub with very small stage used for live music. Service - Excellent! The entire staff is very friendly and attentive. Food - Excellent! The restaurant has tons of interesting options. There are nearly a dozen starters, ten or so sandwiches, some seafood and steak options and a bunch of the classic Irish dishes. I ordered the Irish Egg Rolls as a starter for our table and they were awesome! They were fried perfectly and the corned beef very tender. I'm in an Irish restaurant, so I'm ordering a classic meal, but which one? The options looked so appealing! Answer? Order the Taste of Ireland, of course! Chicken Pot Pie, Shepherd's Pie and Irish Stew! The Shepherd's Pie was very good. However, the Chicken Pot Pie and the Irish Stew were amazing! The portion sizes were generous and served piping hot! The beef in the stew melted in my mouth and the gravy in the Chicken Pot Pie and the Stew were delicious. Overall Value - Excellent. Although the prices for the Starters are a little high, the entree prices were very reasonable. Make your reservation well in advance and time it so that you are there for the entertainment.

Yelp
Open mic night was a blast. The food was awesome and the server did a great job.We stop here whenever we are in the area.

Chris H.

Yelp
Came here on Friday afternoon for a few drinks. It was packed at 2:00 in the afternoon. Nice selection of drinks, both beer and cocktails. Service was friendly and attentive. Would certainly be back if I didn't live a thousand miles away.

Yelp
Went on a girls weekend and we ate here the first night. I had the fish and chips and it was very good ! The service was excellent and they also have live bands on the weekends. We liked it so much we went there a second time for lunch !

Carrie O.

Yelp
My husband and I visit Niagara on the Lake a number of times a year, and typically eat at the Angel Inn. Today we decided to try somewhere different and booked a table at the Irish Harp. We arrived earlier than our reservation and were offered seating immediately. The mixed drinks were great. The haddock fish and chips were very good, but the corned beef and cabbage dinner left a lot to be desired. The cabbage was perfect, but the rest of the meal was a far cry from authentic. The champs were missing butter and were made with onions , not scallions. The corned beef was not corned beef at all, but baked ham!!! When I brought this up to the waitress, she tried to tell me that it was in fact corned beef and they used to slice it thin, but it was too tough, so they now cut it thicker so that it is not as tough, which she admitted made no sense! It felt like I was either in the twilight zone, being Punked, or in the Bizarro Seinfeld episode. My husband and I were amazed as she continued to pass what looked like and tasted like an Easter ham as an authentic Irish corned beef. Paid the bill and left confused and utterly disappointed, never to return again. I wish I would have thought to take a photo, but I was so dumbfounded it didn't occur to me until after she took our plates.

Dot K.

Yelp
My husband and I came here on a beautiful Saturday in October. We had a 25 minute wait outside for a table, which would have been disastrous if the weather had been rainy. We were seated at a small table and our lovely server, Mary Kate, came right over with menus and took our drink order. Kudos to the bartender for pouring a perfect pint of Guinness. Once our drinks arrived we began to look over the menu and ask questions like, "What is Champ?" We ordered the prime rib sandwich and burger. The prime rib sandwich was excellent, and the burger was fair. I would order something else next time. We also ordered a side of Champ, and it was very good, especially with some of the prime rib gravy on top.

Alana G.

Yelp
Our tour group stopped in this little village for sight-seeing, shopping, and lunch in our own. I found this most perfect Irish pub to spend my last half hour. I had found lunch earlier but the food that passed by me looked and smelled delicious as I sat comfortably at the bar with my class of cab. The wine offerings were minimal (sufficient options) but the representation of Irish spirits and ales was extensive. The bartenders were amazingly efficient in the tight space behind the bar. Fun, lively, spot.

Georgianne V.

Yelp
We had a very good meal at the Pub 2 nights ago. The hubby had the bangers and mash and I had the grain salad. Both were delicious.

Toby R.

Yelp
The food was good. The mussels were delicious. The Guinness was excellent. Service was excellent. Loved the ambiance.

K. K.

Yelp
This is our first trip to Canada. The desk at the hotel we are staying at recommended this spot for lunch. It did not disappoint! The atmosphere is perfect with a wood burning fireplace and lots of wood and Irish themed decor. We were greeted and seated promptly. We had to try poutine (obviously) as our appetizer and ordered cocktails. I had a pomegranate mule and my husband had an old fashioned. Both were perfect! But poutine is my new favorite food!! It was delicious!! We also had shepherds pie and the Irish sampler. The food was simply awesome!! Highly recommend this place!!

Lynne G.

Yelp
We love Niagara on the Lake, so every restaurant here starts with a location advantage! The Irish Harp is no exception; however, the friendly, boisterous atmosphere set it apart from some of the other low-key, romantic restaurants nearby. We initially only stopped for a drink, but we decided to stay for lunch thanks to an incredibly engaging bartender who highly recommended the fish & chips. We tried both the haddock and cod with french fries which were an absolute delight. Perfectly breaded/fried without being grease-soaked. It's not our typical kind of meal, but for an indulgent, high-calorie, huge-portion vacation splurge it was 100% perfect. Drinks & service were prompt, and the vibe was exactly what you'd expect from an Irish pub!

Autumn H.

Yelp
The duck wrap had good flavor and loved that you could upgrade your fries to poutine. The gravy was delicious and definitely enhanced the fries. Service was quick and servers were readily available to assist with any needs. The pub itself had a nice atmosphere that was rustic and had a bunch of the Irish harps all around. I would recommend this place many times over.

Deb M.

Yelp
The food was terrible. The beers were good. The fried chicken sandwich was terrible. very little chicken tons of breading. I had the Rueben. Fatty and rubbery corn beef. Hardly any sauerkraut. I love ruebens and this had to be the worst i ever had. And you would think it would be good at an Irish bar. Not!!!. Stay clear of this place for your food choice.

Dominic B.

Yelp
Is their a 6 star option? Me and the wife went here while on a Niagara on the Lake getaway, and this place is amazing. Service was great and the food was even better. I got a caeser salad to start, everything crispy not overdressed. For dinner I got corned beef and cabbage and my wife got the lamb. Lamb was cooked perfectly, corned beef was the best I ever had, and the guiness reduction gravy for the mashed potatoes was unbelievable. Your going to want to give this place a try!

Rainie L.

Yelp
We came here for lunch and waited about an hour. They're busy but the food was worth it and we were able to step away and go stroll in the shops nearby. We ordered the prime rib burger and the liver and onion. Both were tasty and delicious. Portions were huge and price was on point. Great value! Even the salad was tasty. Would definitely come back again and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them. Good spot for families, friends, and dates but it grows get crowded and loud! Probably not a good choice for babies due to noise level and washroom has no change table or counter space. We ended up changing our little one at the coffee shop next door in his stroller.

Marilyn J.

Yelp
Good, service and atmosphere you cannot beat this place. We are regulars but we do go other places. We go here from Grimsby and it's worth the drive

Veronica K.

Yelp
Bartender Megan was absolutely wonderful. Everything from the food to the ambiance was excellent and we ended up booking a room above the pub for the night thanks to her! I would recommend this place to any local or anyone coming from out of town! Feels like a cozy neighborhood bar from home!

Annette J.

Yelp
My husband and I came here later on a Friday night after seeing a show at the Shaw Festival, so props for being one of the few places in town with a kitchen open late. We got there right before the live music started and, not going to lie, sometimes these bar bands can be....less than great but actually this duo (sorry I didn't catch their name) was really enjoyable. They sounded awesome and had a nice selection of covers that they executed well. It was actually fun vs. intrusive! Everything else at the Irish Harp was also enjoyable. The service was attentive, the vibe was fun (maybe a little loud, even before the music, so if you're looking for easy conversation this may not be the place for that) and the food was good, although I liked my husband's dish way more than my own. My husband ordered the shepherds pie and I ALMOST went with that myself but I decided last minute to try something different, so I got the Fisherman's Wharf, which was fish & chips and coconut shrimp. I honestly wasn't super crazy about the fish and chips. The fish was very heavily breaded and felt very heavy because of it, and the chips weren't the favorite fries I've ever had. But the coconut shrimp was aces! I would definitely order a whole order of that in the future! My husband's shepherd's pie on the other hand? Great! I would definitely order that again should we return. I kept stealing bites off his plate. Should have gone with my instincts and gotten that! The space is cozy, clean, and lively, and generally speaking the food is good. I'd definitely return if I'm in the area again!

Dianne G.

Yelp
Food is above bar food quality, ambiance is great. Very authentic Irish pub! Service is always good. A great find in town! So happy they are now accepting reservations! They have evening events and Sunday Roast beef. Check their website. Lots to see here!

Glenna C.

Yelp
Another favourite and our usual pick when we go out. They have great entertainment and good. The staff are very special to us

Kim N.

Yelp
We have been here a few times. We usually order the traditional Irish meals such as the Guinness Irish stew or pot pies. This is the first time we went with the kids. Came at 11am on a Monday for lunch. Was the first family there. We ordered the prime steak sandwich, which was very juicy and moist. The Irishman pasta which is pretty much an Alfredo pasta with peas, cherry tomatoes and bacon and it had a lot of toppings. My toddler got the Mac n cheese which was just alright, have had better at other places for the kids menu. Service was great. Friendly staff and very accommodating.
