The Island House

We had a short family vacation to this wonderful hidden gem, and we were incredibly satisfied with our stay. The property itself is serene, lush, and beautiful in every way. The rooms are incredibly clean, spacious, and designed in a highly luxurious way. They spared no expense building this place and it shows.||Before I get to a quick pros and cons, I want to shout out some special people who helped make our stay as enjoyable as possible, each of them showing my family and I incredible warmth, hospitality, and care:|-the bellmen, D and Kaleb|-the hotel pool host, Thorn|-the beach hosts, Lawson and Marco|-the concierge, Kera|-our waiter at Shima, Kevin|-the manager of the hotel, whose name unfortunately slips my mind|All of the above, and others, treated us with impeccable care, warmth, and joy. We are very lucky to have met all of you.||Honestly there are no cons at this place. It's all pros: the beach, the rooms, the pool, the facilities, the property itself, and most of all the people. Our favorite restaurant was Shima, but the real gem for us was the island pizza place where our family had some awesome meals of incredibly good wood-fired pizza (better than anything I've had back home) which is nestled in a lush green patio space. The weather was great while we were there. The beach has incredibly clean, manicured sand and the waves were flowing beautifully.||All-in-all, a true 5-star experience. I won't go saying it is high value for the cost, but I will undoubtedly say one gets their moneys worth here. Thanks again to all the wonderful staff!

Her mind-bodywork therapy sessions stand apart as the best, personalized extraordinarily integrative healing sessions I have had the privilege of receiving. I say this as a medical professional and specialist in longevity and regenerative medicine, as well as someone with personal experience of a wide range of healing modalities and therapists. I am particularly impressed by her personalized approach, the time she takes to listen to and assess the whole-person before the laying on of hands on them, the care and attention she brings to the session, as well extensive knowledge of a wide range of physiological, mind-body therapeutic and healing modalities she integrates into her work. Finally, she stands apart in her appreciation of the importance of education and inspiring self-empowerment of her clients. Nestled in an eight-acre hilltop garden, the hotel offers stunning ocean views and lush landscapes. Since opening in 2015, it has become a beloved spot for both visitors and locals.||||Accommodations and Amenities||||The hotel features 30 beautifully designed rooms, six apartments, and a variety of amenities including a Bamford Spa, movement studio, gym, squash courts, lap pool, and a cinema. Each room is spacious and equipped with high-quality bath products, contributing to a luxurious experience||||We stayed in the junior suite what is just right by the pool sort distance to the bar and restaurant and gym .room is very spacious and clean. Restaurant is nice but very pricey also not much vegan option. Overall it’s a luxury experience and very relaxing vibe

If you're looking for peace, relaxation, attention to detail and natural beauty, this is your spot in the Bahamas. A true hidden gem. |Initially we were concerned about the hotel not having direct beach access, but those worries melted away when we arrived at the property's beach after a quick 5 minute drive. The hotel provides car service to and from their private beach - they have an arrangement with Old Fort Bay Club - and we never had an issue accessing the service when we wanted. The beach is truly stunning. Some of the most beautiful sand and crystal water we've ever seen. The beach is practically empty as the only people who can access it either stay at Island House or live in the massive mansions that line the beach. Greg provided us with excellent beach service over our vacation, bringing us drinks and delicious food. |The hotel itself is lovely. Our room was marketed as "marina view", but the trees at a neighboring property had grown and blocked any view of the water. The hotel wasn't at capacity and Bianca was very helpful in moving us to a deluxe room that maintained its water views. |Both drinks and breakfast at Yellowbell were wonderful. The service was attentive and the atmosphere and decor were both hip and comfortable. There seemed to be a regular stream of high end local residents who have a membership at the hotel to use the pool, gym, spa and restaurants. This never created crowding, but rather added to the international feel and the daily bustle. |Dinner at Mogano was excellent. The restaurant is modern and well designed and the food is delicious. The service was a bit lacking, but we weren't looking to rush through our meal. |Twice we took a taxi in the evening to BahaMar for the casino and drinks. It was an easy 20 minute drive and fun to experience something so different from our home base at Island House. That said, we were thrilled to return to the sanctuary of our resort at the end of the night.|Overall a relaxing, beautiful and delicious trip to celebrate our anniversary. We wouldn't hesitate to return and hope to sooner than later!

Very nice cinema, the 2 person sofa is is nice and the screen and audio. Unfortunately, our experience watching Deadpool and Wolverine was ruined because the movie was cut off twice. The first time was a technical error, but none of the staff noticed and we had to go and find someone. Eventually the movie was restarted, but the staff member failed to rewind to the spot where we were cut off - loosing a small portion of the movie, however right in the middle of an intense scene. The second time the staff intentionally cut the movie halfway through the end credits. |As with all Marvel movies everyone waits for the post credits scene, but I guess it was more important for the staff member to go home earlier.|When we asked about why it was cut off before the end of the movie, we were simply met with a “not my problem”. We can’t be sure it was intentional, but it felt like it.|An expensive ticket and nice seats are simply not worth it, if you can’t play the movie.|You had one job.

Great boutique hotel close to Lyford Cay. Wonderful attentive staff. Spacious rooms. Shuttle service to a beautiful private beach club (Old Fort Bay).

Had an opportunity to get a manicure and pedicure with Angelique Williamson at the Bamford Spa. Her service was excellent and I enjoyed my experience. If you ever have an opportunity to go to Bamford Spa please ensure to ask for Angelique as she will treat you like loyalty.
