The location of the hotel is great, the old center is within walking distance of Duval st. and other interesting places. I was staying in our room, it's in the back of the hotel and we had our own terrace which was great for the evening. The room is very clean and cosy, the kitchen allows you to cook your own breakfast and have a fun evening. Also the presence of a sofa in the hallway, allows you to put friends who are staying late at the party, overnight.

My vacation stay was fantastic! The place I booked through Airbnb "The Island Suite" was clean, comfortable, and exactly as described. The host was friendly and provided great recommendations for things to do. Airbnb made the whole process easy and affordable. Highly recommend for your next vacation stay!

Yelp
Our first trip to Key West that was greater than an afternoon. This is a hotel near all the action but far enough away to be quiet and relaxing. Walking distance to Duval street and the night life. The room we had was a suite with small kitchen, sitting room and bedroom. Well appointed with top notch accommodations. The staff was attentive and our room was cleaned everyday if we wanted it. There was a Kering machine and pods. There are bicycles for rent. We did a rode a few minutes up the road to Fort Zachary Taylor state beach for a couple of days. There is a pool, clean and heated (?). Refreshing. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Stayed here and it was a great experience .Alina was the front desk lady very professional  , it was a beautiful stay . The room was great neat old fashion with a nice modern day  touch. We rented the bicycle and rode around downtown for $15 all day rental . Nice poo, ice machine, clean rooms ,cable and smart tvs. I would definitely recommend this place to book for vacation

Yelp
Rooms are very old, plugs don't work inside the room, all broken, falling down. Only one small pool full of people, was a clean guy the manager I believed very did, racist and basically at 12:05pm was telling us get out was our check out. The cleaning ladies were very nice. The beds were uncomfortable.

Yelp
Be aware!!! This hotel may cancel your reservation AFTER you check in, and THROW your item out of the room BEFORE informing you. I booked my hotel for one night one month prior to my stay. On the day of the stay, I checked in in the afternoon, the office lady took my reservation email, my drivers license and my credit card information and gave us the room key. We went out for dinner shortly after a quick nap in the room. During the dinner, I received an email telling me that they checked me in the wrong room, and the original guests were there and I need to call them. During the call, they told me that they checked in me wrong and they didn't have my reservation, and they HAVE ALREADY TOOK MY ITEMS OUT and GAVE THE ROOM TO THE NEXT GUEST(which happened to stay longer than me for 3 nights). I rushed back to the hotel, the front desk lady and their night shift manager(who was being extremely rude, and later literally threw my bags out of the hotel office) told me that they didn't have my reservation. I asked why would I got checked in earlier, and they told me that they have made a mistake. I then asked how could they touch my private personal items before obtaining my permission, and they told me that they do have the permission. When I asked them what should I do for tonight(it was already 830pm), they told me that I need to contact Booking.com and they were not able to help. When I went to call Booking.com later outside, the night shift manager took my bags out of the office and told me to I need to get my stuff off their property. I eventually had to call the cops and checked my items in front of the police officer because I really lose all my faith in this place. I eventually have to pay $480 to get a place elsewhere.

Yelp
Very cute hotel. Very similar to a bed and breakfast without the breakfast the rooms are clean and the hotel is quiet. It has had some updates but it's old so some things are a bit on the old side due to its historic design. If you're ok with that then it's an excellent place to stay. Check in was great but no parking, no elevator and the stairs are very steep. They have a parking garage a couple of block away you can park in for 15 dollars instead of 40.

Yelp
The property is beautiful; it's calming and quiet and embodies everything that Key West has to offer. But I was underwhelmed by the experience. The location is great - close to the water and easy access to the Duval Loop. This ended up being a great development since there is no parking available. The room was clean and quiet, but some of the features should be checked. The hot water in our room was spotty - water would go from hot to temperate very quickly and the television in the bedroom wouldn't turn on. I will say that the best feature was the resident cat, Bert, who was out and about when we got back from dinner. The little guy is a welcome addition the area.

Yelp
I have nothing but good things to say about this place. Carlos is amazing. General managers - please give this man a raise. He was accommodating from the moment we walked in. He's a Key West native and knows exactly how to read people's needs and wants and DELIVERS. We didn't find anything he recommended disappointing. He was incredible with my husband and I and our children time and time again. The rooms were ADORABLE and we also love history so this place was a win. It's nestled in the old key west district and has a gorgeous garden throughout that envelopes you in peaceful vibes. The price was outmatched for the location and feel we were looking for. We're not huge cookie cutter hotel ventureres and again, I was so pleasantly surpassed with glee. This hotel is a 100/10 and I can clearly understand why the families we met while staying have been booking out a year in advance for 25+ years steady. I'm so glad we stumbled on this place as it will be our now GO TO when we visit (and we truly hope Carlos is around to join our adventures). Thank you Island City House - Cheers from the Burmil Family

Yelp
Amazing stay! We live in Miami Beach and make it to Key West often..... if I could stay here every time I would, if I could live here, hell, I would! The cutest garden area and pool, there are multiple buildings making you feel a little secluded! The room itself was adorable, so much space and the balcony was AMAZING (it had a hammock on it and overlooked the garden). We rented bikes from the office and the customer service was fabulous! We will definitely be back! Thank you!!!!

Yelp
Love this place!!!! Comfy beds, great pool area and a great location! I will definitely return. We highly recommend.

Yelp
This was our second stay here. In the midst of a pandemic the staff go above and beyond to make it comfortable. They give coupons to local cafes since they can't offer breakfast or room service. The rooms are beautiful and well appointed. All with kitchens and full sized fridges with all you need to cook if you choose. Gorgeous gardens with waterfalls for tranquility. Bike rentals available if you wish. Cafe bustello pods for the keurig in your room. Mattresses so comfy I slept like a baby. Pool and sauna. You can leave your bags before and after. Close to everything without the feel of it. I can't say enough about this gem

Yelp
I'm so happy to find this hotel online for $150. What? This hotel is located on Eaton St and 3 blocks from Duval and short walk to Mallory Square. Here are the goods: 1) Plenty of FREE street parking. 2) Lovely garden pathways to the reception and rooms 3) Amazing true..Key West style architecture 4) Prompt check-in by friendly staff 5) Queen Room# 6 was very roomy 6) Kitchen with flat stove, micro, fridge and mini breakfast table 7) Separate living area with LCD TV 8) Bathroom was spic and span. Good hot water and pressure and no clogs. 9) Wooden floors were gleaming 10) My favorite was the porch. It had a swing and view of Eaton St. 11) Almost forgot...this hotel also has a pool I'd stay here over the Chelsea House anytime. This hotel exceeded the online pictures.. its just better to see the facade in person :) Although my room was on the street side, I didn't hear any traffic noise at all once porch door was shut. I had a relaxing overnight stay and will plan a weekend stay next time I'm in Key West which is couple of months from now! See my pics.

Yelp
Girls weekend 2016 found the group in Key West & so, so, so happy we found Island City House Hotel!! Mr & I arrived way early & I had some work calls to make & while our room was not yet ready, they were nice enough to provide a vacant room where I could have some peace & quiet......then by the time my calls were over, our room was ready.....still way before our scheduled check in time. Wow! Thanks!! And to put it over the top, I needed to print out some docs after my calls & they allowed me to use their printer - again, wow! We got coupons for the local bakery, maps for the area, tips on where to get the best street parking & a plethora of useful info! The location was perfect & we were able to walk everywhere which was most bonus since parking was difficult to find & especially so, given we were there during a festival weekend Our room was super quiet & we never heard a peep our neighbors. The A/C worked great, the bath products were wonderfully smelly & we had a welcome basket of coffee pods, granola bars & assorted snacks. Royal treatment all around & I've already recommended Island City to my friends......we can't wait to come back!

Yelp
This will be where we stay on any return trips to Key West. The young lady who checked us in was friendly and super helpful. The grounds are relaxing. We didn't realize we'd have a kitchen so that was a pleasant surprise. We had a huge veranda right outside our room with comfortable furniture. We sat and enjoyed a rain/wind storm that blew through. Parking was challenging but you can unload your luggage right in front (later in the evening there were parking spots available closer to the hotel). Easy walk to Mallory Square and the harbor (for our day trip to Dry Tortugas). The room was comfortable and quiet. Highly recommend and look forward to when our travels bring us back!

Yelp
Rooms very cleaned and staff very friendly - parking is difficult - it's very nice garden setting and rooms are very spacious.

Yelp
Had a wonderful stay at the Island City House Hotel for our couples getaway just before Christmas 2020. The hotel was perfect for our stay. We had a king 1 bedroom suite on the second floor of 1 of their three buildings. The room was extremely clean and well kept. The hotel is a couple blocks off of the chaos of Duval street, which is only a quick bike ride or walk away. It was peaceful and quiet and BEAUTIFUL. We sat in the gardens quite a bit (pictured below) and lounged by the pool often as well (also pictured below). Hotel staff were friendly and accommodating. They have a coin op washer/dryer which we utilized the day before we left. They offer fairly inexpensive bike rentals which we also took advantage of (HIGHLY recommend). We rode everywhere, didn't take a cab once. We also had the pleasure of meeting the hotel cat, Bert, who is shy but very sweet :) Would definitely recommend to family and friends as a place to stay and would return there ourselves!

Yelp
Overpriced hotel for outdated and mildew rooms. My room happens to be in the third floor with no elevator. Not convenient when you have to carry luggage. You can't order food or drinks anywhere on site.

Yelp
Island City House Hotel has the quaint, homey feel of a B&B (without the extra B). We stayed in Room 14, a comfortable space on the ground floor with a kitchenette, two TVs, and an old creaky bed. It's strategically located in Old Town near the marina, within walking distance of several breakfast options like Old Town Bakery, Cuban Coffee Queen and Pepe's. The biggest convenience was the bike rentals offered by the hotel! It was very affordable, and you're able to keep the bikes day after day and just pay the total when you check out. The bicycles were in good condition with baskets and cup holders for your use. There is a rooftop clothing optional sun deck, and the pool was always quiet and relaxing, no noisy kids splashing around. A perfect spot for our honeymoon, we enjoyed our stay.

Yelp
The overall "quaintness" of the Island City house exceeded all expectation. When we checked in there was a very gracious concierge that accommodated us and we rather enjoyed walking through the adorable garden to find the office, too. We stayed in Room 3, with a balcony overlooking the gardens. One of my favorite parts was this very balcony and surprise hammock! Stargazing that evening was out of this world! Island City House's prime location allowed us to take a short walk to Mallory Square for dinner and Duval Street to people watch. All around this was the exact experience I was hoping to make my first trip to Key West. I will be back to Island City House.

Yelp
I am absolutely enchanted with this quaint inn! Perfectly located within walking distance to everything. Beautiful grounds, extremely helpful & polite staff! I love how they have it decorated. The bed is fantastic, big fluffy pillows, lovely soaps in the en suite. I am thoroughly enjoying my stay here. Love that they have bikes available too!

Yelp
This review is not based on staying there but in the policies. I accidentally booked wrong stay dates for my wedding. The policy states if you cancel at all you are charged $50. I attempted to change the dates online, it wouldn't let me. So I called hotels.com and they called the hotel and told me I was going to be charged 50 just for changing the dates to a week earlier. (the wedding is a year out) So no matter what, if you make any changes or cancel at all - it's $50. Not a very customer friendly hotel. To cancel, I can see. However, I still think it's not good to charge a cancel fee a year out. But to charge 50 just to make a CHANGE in date? Come on. You can do better. Keep my 50, you obviously need it more than me

Yelp
I hate to write a review complaining about a property. However, what's right is right! I booked 2 rooms checking in on June 4 2020. I booked them back in December before the Coronavirus hit the US. I called today to cancel the 2 reservations and explained to the manager Eric, that people in our group could not travel then because they could not get off of work (now since the Coronavirus outbreak has happened.) They work in the medical field and have been told that they cannot take any vacation until their employer notifies them that they can. On top of that, all major hotel chains, cruise lines, and airlines have waived cancelation fees. The city of Key West has not even opened the City for tourist yet. Eric tells me that they are supposed to open it on June 1st. That's only a 4 day window and we all know how many times the opening date has been pushed back in the travel business due to this virus. I don't know of anyone willing to purchase flights when the city has not given the OK to allow tourist in. Eric tells me that the $35 charge per room is for credit card transaction fees. My wife and I own a travel agency (Cruise Planners American Express Travel.) Our credit card processor doesn't charge us a penny to refund a transaction to a customer. I'm not sure which processor that they are using, but if that's true, they need to change credit card processors. 5 Years ago, We had our Wedding in Key West and we rented out over half of the Island City House Hotel. The manager then was wonderful taking care of anything that we needed. We wanted to come back with a smaller group of 9 for our 5 year anniversary but due to the virus, we will have to postpone. I will say, with Eric charging me $70 to cancel, we Won't be Staying Here! Thanks Kyle

Yelp
We had a great vacation in the Keys, and Island City House Hotel did not disappoint!!! The room was clean and pretty, and the grounds were beautiful! Loved the pool and all of the pretty foliage. We'll definitely be back! 5 stars!

Yelp
I've stayed here twice--the second time just last week. We were here for Fantasy Fest, which is kind of drunken, raging costume party along Duval. It peaks for Halloween, but it was still fun a few days early. Check that out. As the first review says, the hotel is an ancient, but well maintained wooden house that has been converted to a hotel. In season, rooms are a couple of hundred a night. They include kitchenettes, which is nice because, at least in the main house and carriage house, they have big porches with furniture. These make a great place to sit and drink of an evening and just generally get silly. The porch on the top floor (the widow's walk, I think it is called) is clothing optional. Rooms have antiques, iron beds, roaming cats, and a lot of laid back Key West atmosphere. The pool is on the grounds between the buildings. The grounds themselves are filled with tropical plants and trees. It rained on day we were here, and it was very special to sit outside under cover and watch a storm blow through the canopy. I just love staying here.

Yelp
It may be beautiful here, but after they massively screwed up my reservation, charged me for an evening, and told me "no, we didn't charge you" while I'm staring at the charge on my credit card statement, I'll never see this place. First they lost my reservation, and it took 3 phone calls to them to even get them to acknowledge that I'd made one in the first place. Then, when they finally DID dig it up, they said it had already been cancelled, and I'd never actually been charged. Then they basically told me to kiss off. Mistakes happen. Reservations get lost. I understand that. But their front desk staff and manager were so stunningly incompetent and dismissive I will never give them another cent.

Yelp
My husband and I stayed at the Island City House during our wedding week - November 2017 - post hurricane Irma. Everything looks just as beautiful as it did when I stayed here several years ago. The gardens were lush and the pool and lounge area inviting. I have seen a couple bad reviews on here and one thing you have to understand is that this hotel is full of historical charm that many of us fall in love with when we come to Key West - this means it's not cookie cutter hotel. The three buildings are amazing. Very clean and the staff is so nice and helpful. So far I've stayed in the Arch House and Island House and love them both. They both have nice porches and sitting areas. I love the island house wrap around porches and rooftop lounge area. Gardens sparkle at night. Sauna is relaxing. Yes parking can be tough but there is a garage a couple short blocks away if you can't find parking. I prefer the enchanting feel of the Island City house over one of the bigger hotels because I feel I'm experiencing Key West to the fullest. Stay here if you want that too.

Yelp
Stayed at this B and B from Dec 28-Dec 31, and had a fabulous experience. The inn is historic and lovely-- complete with high ceilings, dark wood, great furnishings, two tv's if you're into that, and has several room s in the main house which have a giant private deck/porch overlooking the street. We had Room 21 on the third floor of the main house-huge gorgeous 1- bedroom with kitchen and giant living room and use of the private porch with couches and coffee tables. The grounds are lush, magical. Huge green palms, foliage, windy paths, and charming. Bkfast is served from 8-10 with the basics; self-serve from a wagon cart in the center courtyard. Good coffee, fresh OJ, some croissants, bread/bagels with toaster, yogurts. (Suggestion? Use fresher fruit in the basket. Tired old apples and oranges.. ok to look at, but not to eat.) Pool looked lovely, smallish but attractive-- but we didn't use it during our stay. Although we were in the front of the building, we were not bothered by traffic sounds. The bedroom is in the back, and the A/C worked its magic. Housekeeping services were excellent. Another suggestion-- really just minor-- was that we were cold, and found blankets in the closet that were the velour type- not cozy or warm, and smelled mildewy, obviously not washed for a while.. but we needed to pile them on the bed anyway for warmth. The only covers on the bed were a sheet and a white bedspread. No biggie, but just a suggestion. The pillows were divine! Office staff was pleasant enough- just a bit perfunctory. TIP! Make sure you reserve bikes to get around the town. You will need them and be so grateful for them. We couldn't get any the first day we were there, and eventually located some through Eaton's Bikes just around the corner. You can rent them thru the hotel, but they had sold out. If wifi is important to you, ask for a room in the back, because we couldn't get any signal at all. Bummer!! When i asked the front desk guy, he said they make it available on the property, but not for all the rooms. FAIL! We were paying upwards of $285 per night during this Christmas week, and needed to know in advance that we couldn't get any internet. We rode our bikes to a couple of beaches, but there were none that were swimmable. Nice sand to read on, however! We really had a great time here, and wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

Linda M.

Yelp
Terrible place to stay. We arrived early and left our bags and the lady said she would call us for an early check in. We were first on the list. We never got a call. When we did get checked in, we were very disappointed in our rooms. The place is very old. Not many plugs for 2 sleep machines in the bedroom. The staff was not willing to try to ask Maintainence for an extension cord. The air conditioning could not cool the room because of the very tall ceilings. The biggest complaint I have is the shower. Not enough water pressure to rinse my hair in the shower and then it wouldn't drain out. The outdoor furniture was very ragged and worn, all this for a $506 night!!! Never again!!

Yelp
Loved the hotel. Stayed here last time I visited Key West. I could live there in a heart beat. Reservations were made through Hotel Tonight, check-in was a breeze, no hidden fees at the check-in desk (no crazy hold on your credit card for incidentals.) No one was there to hassle you about "activities or excursions." The room it self was like an apartment only nicer with housekeeping service. The room had a very smooth laid back Old Key West vibe. It almost felt like I was checking in to my home without the normal everyday stress of fast paced life. Check out was just as simple I handed my keys in waved good bye and I was off. Wasn't pleased with people smoking below us, but overall loved the location, the room, and the expansive porch which I thoroughly enjoyed. I would only give two recommendations to the hotel owners. 1. Go non-smoking, then this hotel would get five-star reviews all the time. 2. I wish there were a bike rack for patrons that bring their own bicycles to Key West.

Yelp
We stayed at Island City House in November 2013, renting 2 rooms with our whole family including 3 small children. The property is a little slice of paradise and the stay could not have been any better! As soon as you get there you feel like you are staying in a true iconic Key West home, which has been beautifully updated and kept to the highest standard. Gaines at the front desk helped get us situated and acclimated to all the great restaurants around us. The paint was fresh, the plants were lush and tropical, the pool was so refreshing, and the rooms were luxurious. We had 2 rooms on the 3rd floor of the main house, very comfortable with all the amenities of home including a full kitchen, sleeper sofa, detached bedroom, TVs, internet. At sunset we went up to the rooftop deck and had a great time. The best part is you are within walking distance of everything worth seeing. Duval and all of the best restaurants were never more than a 10-15 min walk. You never need to use your car til you're ready to leave again! All in all a fantastic time in a gem of a property, a place we look forward to visiting again soon!

Yelp
We stayed from 10/11/12 - 10/14/12 and had a great time. It is conveniently located in the Old Town section of Key West just a couple of blocks from the Schooner Wharf area and three or four blocks from Duval Street. The staff was courteous and friendly. Our suite of two bedrooms, a living room, a kitchenette, and one full bathroom was beautiful and immaculately clean. The room decor was beautiful and the entire property was gorgeous. We stayed in Suite 13 of the Island City House building and despite it being a front room on the street, never heard any noise at night. It is a quick walk to Duval Street but far enough away that you can't hear any noise or have to deal with hordes of people stumbling by at night. The beds were very comfortable and we even had a large front porch with several chairs and a table to use at night to enjoy drinks and conversation. The morning breakfast was very good. A good selection of danish, muffins, bagels, etc along with coffees and juices. There were a couple of toasters that you could use. It was set up in a little outdoor courtyard with some tables and chairs to sit and relax at. They even had a gas grill for guests to use if they like. We wish that they had a license to have free happy hours for guests like many Key West B&Bs, but this was only a minor downside to us. Free wi-fi is available in some rooms but they do not have coverage across the entire property. We got a weak but usable signal in suite 13. The hotel staff was very professional and knowledgeable about the area. They were also very kind and wanted to make our stay a special experience. If you are looking for a beautiful B&B experience close to the action of Duval Street and the wharfs, but far enough away from the noise, the Island City House Hotel is the place to go. We will definitely stay here again and it will be our first choice for Key West accommodations

Yelp
If you are worried about staying at such an old place, don't! I was concerned about the comfort but needed the kitchens...so we stayed there. LOVED IT! Super comfy High end beds, Excellent AC to keep you cool and comfy! CHARMING rooms, lush grounds. And all within walking distance to everything! We had 2 rooms, both with kitchens, so we saved a lot of money by eating out of our own fridges. We also had a balcony and a front porch, so you can eat outside too. Lovely! A million times better than a chain hotel!

Yelp
i stayed here once a few years back. they tab was picked-up by work, so i'm not figuring that into to it. but the place is adorable. exactly what imagined a bed & breakfast in key west to look like. there's some history to it as well... it was originally, built as a private home in the 1880 and this grand three-story victorian mansion was converted into the island city house a few decades after. i believe all the rooms have both a bedroom (or two bedroom), living area and little kitchenette. ours had an adorable little private porch area off the outside. the staff was very friendly and helpful. sadly we only stayed for two nights. but i'd absolutely stay again. i checked online and prices are around the $200-400+ range, which i think is well worth it. oh, and though i'm not one for cats, they have some adorable resident cats. there's even a book about them!

Yelp
Beautiful lush garden, heated pool, cozy bedroom with kitchenette... We just loved this place. It's also ideally situated, at a walking distance from Duval St. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and they rent bikes. It's a bit expensive (260/night in December) but what B&B isn't on the island? This one is definitely worth its price!

Yelp
So Delta Airlines screws up and gets us into Key West a day late. My wife calls the hotel at 9:00am informing them as such and was told no problem regarding the change in our stay. She checks out not realizing that she paid for 3 nights we intended on using instead of the two we actually used. Calling the desk, we were informed that it was policy that changes needed 14 day notice (Marriott, Hilton, etc don't mandate that) and was presented with written policy over email. Thing of it was they changed policy from what is posted on their website, thus benefiting them by keeping our $250. They guys can't be trusted and I wouldn't stay there again.

Yelp
This place is so nice. Will stay agian for sure. Walking distanced to Duvall st. But not so close where you can hear the crowd later in the night.

Yelp
Great place - clean - friendly - near everything - $150/night in June. Missed the breakfast bar but heard it was great.

My husband and I stay here every time we visit. We stayed somewhere else once and it just wasn't the same! We like the suites in the actual Island City House. The rates are always reasonable (we usually go in September). You get a full kitchen, porch to relax on, and even widow's peak access - we love to watch the stars up there! Always clean and cozy. The AC works great too. The pool is the perfect size, and the location is really great - convenient to the craziness of Duval, and the quaintness of the more quiet side of the island. We turn the rental car in right when we arrive, then rent bikes from the hotel for transportation when we aren't walking. The history behind this place is amazing and adds to the lush vegetation in the courtyard area and island ambiance. It's super quiet on the property. The staff is super nice and helpful with suggestions of things to do. The last stay we had, the lady at the front desk recommended a little family owned bakery only a block down. We literally went there everyday! Just writing this review makes me want to go back. You won't regret staying here!

Yelp
Feb 28 - Mar 5 2013 - our 3rd stay at this b&b. Perfect location, excellent staff, clean rooms... what more could you need! We love this place and are afraid to try anywhere else when we visit Key West because this place is so consistently awesome!

Yelp
Charming Key West hotel, beautiful garden, wonderful porch. Room a little musty and a little exposed but bed and pillows were wonderful. Nice pool, outstanding location.

Yelp
What a great place to stay on our first trip to Key West. The hotel is beautiful and run by incredibly friendly staff. Checking in and out took no more than 2 minutes, and the hotel provides you with vouchers for a free coffee and croissant down the block at a local cafe. The room was very cozy, and we loved that every room included a little kitchen area. My only complaint is that the mattress was a bit stiff, but for one night it was just fine. Great location!

Yelp
Wow, this was a wonderful place to stay in old town Key West . Our room was in the original house on the third floor at the back. The king bed was very comfortable and the bed lines were lovely. The room was very clean, with modern amenities but it also had a wonderful, charming and authentic feel. You don't need a car to get around because this hotel is completely within walking distance to all that Key West has to offer. We did take a pedi-cab back one very late night, but otherwise walking around town was the way to go. Even though it's a bed and breakfast, we felt that there was a lot of privacy. We will stay here again. Very romantic.

Yelp
Stayed here in January 2013 for two nights and absolutely loved it. We had a room on the top floor of the Cigar House, with a private balcony up in the trees, overlooking the pool area. It is an adorable, lovely place close enough to the downtown action, but on a quiet residential street so you feel removed from the hustle. Everything was very clean. The gardens are beautiful and the breakfast in the morning is ample and nicely presented. Bikes on premises available for rental. Hammocks on the balconies and a communal rooftop sundeck. And if you rent scooters, you can park them in the entry driveway, which is a plus. A note for first-timers visiting Key West who might be looking for a high-end luxury experience -- this place is very well-kept and has immense charm, but it's not a super-modern hotel with the latest amenities (i.e. the bathroom in our room was old-fashioned, not recently updated) -- it's a classic B&B. For us, this added to the appeal and the character of the place. And having stayed at the Westin down on Front Street, which is more traditionally luxurious and closer to downtown, but very sterile, I would highly recommend Island City House to anyone wanting to experience the "authentic" Key West feel. It was my fiance's second time staying there and he loved it just as much this time around.

Yelp
Truly awesome place to stay!!! Love it!! Stayed here back in April. We are Floridians and come to the Keys a lot. This is by far the best place we ever stayed. When coming to Key West this is the only place we will ever stay from now on! The employees are super nice and helpful. The property is gorgeous and the rooms are clean and beautiful. The rates are very reasonable. Actually better than reasonable for what you get. Trust me when I say you will love this place!!

Yelp
Beautiful hotel. Loved it. Only reason for 4 stars is that because they are beautiful old buildings it can be noisy at times.

Yelp
Very nice place. We are staying in the Arch House with a family of 5, 2 bedrooms, a sleeper sofa and kitchenette. It's very clean and the staff is very friendly. I usually stay at Marriott's, Hilton's, etc, but they were all booked, which turned out lucky for me. Another benefit, it's within walking distance to Duvall Street.

Yelp
If I could give this place 10 stars, I would. The staff was absolutely wonderful. The grounds were fabulous, our room was super clean (and larger than I expected), and the location was great. We stayed for 4 nights and I wish we could have stayed longer. If we ever go back to Key West, I will stay there again in a heart beat.

Yelp
Having visited Key West about four times a year for the past few years, I am pretty familiar with the island as a whole. When it comes to where to stay, I can honestly say that nowhere compares to Island City House. The grounds are beautiful- like a tropical haven in the middle of Old Town and a block from the marina. The rooms are extraordinarily clean, comfortable, and well-appointed. The prices are incredibly reasonable. Each time my spouse and I visit Key West, we first check availability at Island City House. We have even scheduled our trips around when we could find a room at Island City House. Everywhere else we've stayed simply disappoints in comparison.
