The Italian Diner

Love this place! One of my favourite restaurants anywhere. This was my fourth visit here. Firstly the wait staff could not be any better. Both friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. Secondly the food is delicious. From the sardines and calamari entrees to the pasta mains (both the casarecce cacio e pepe and the rigatoni primavera were exceptional) and the cassola dessert and chocolate marquis were simply delicious. Thirdly the Etna Rosso wine was great, although the wine list is a little short. Finally Bangalow itself is one of the most beautiful towns in one of the most beautiful regions of Australia. Can not wait to get back here again!

Wonderful food & wines, great service & lovely location. Really enjoyed our meals. Definitely recommend it. Only slight negative are the high prices.

Great food, and friendly staff. The owner was also present, and helping out, which was great to see. Dinner was delicious, and presented beautifully, although desert was a bit of a let down. Also a bit pricey, but worth it. Watch out for the 10% surcharge on Sundays and 15% on Public holidays.

From the minute we walked in the door we were greeted by the owner and made too feel welcome, my 6 year old daughter was a little bit unsure about coming in and the owner went out of his way to comfort her. A great dining experience with great food and great staff. If you want a quick cheap meal go to McDonalds or Hungry Jacks but at The Italian Diner the food is second to none and the quality of the local produce is simply amazing. Can't rave enough about the sheer dining experience. PS. Try the Rib Eye and Apple Tart.

The food and service at The Italian Diner were both excellent! We'll definitely return when we're in Bangalow next.

It was a really amazing experience, went to dine with the wife and it was everything enjoyable. Delectable foods and nice selection of wines. Had the most relaxing dining experience. It was so good to not feel stuck in a stuffy environment of a restaurant. The service of the staff was top notch. You absolutely will be spoilt with all the goodness and it's worth the price tag.

Great venue, friendly service, and sensational food, this is a wonderful experience. The wine list and menu are well curated and the team at the Italian Diner articulate their offering brilliantly! Reasonably priced too. If passing through (as we were) Bangalow is a lovely town to explore also. I'd give The Italian Diner 6 stars if I could!

Disappointing! Staff friendly downhill from there Pros Friendly staff Tables inside and outside Nice wines Cons Terrible food - red wine and mushroom risotto was like a coffee coloured sloppy rice pudding with no mushrooms in evidence! We were offered another but we declined! Cannelloni dry with virtually no sauce! Decided to try dessert - big mistake! Tiramisu they said was biscuits soaked in coffee and liqueur as per usual. This was nuts not biscuit and had a weird taste! Could not recommend!

What a find, on the corner of the high street. Sit inside or out. Warm and comfortable, not too noisy but lots of customers. A good variety of wines and a great Italian menu. The staff are awesome. So helpful to us travellers and pointing out different places to eat for the next few days. All their suggestions were really good. The ambiance was lovely and we spent several hours nibbling, drinking and eating, just as if we were in Italy. I will definitely return when next in Bangalow.

We went here for a friends 40th birthday, waited an hour to be seated... we were so excited to get awesome Italian although after being put on the corner table we ordered oysters first thing that never came. Also I have never been treated so rudely by both waiters in my life. They couldn't answer the question of "what else can you get with the margarita pizza", also our water cups were empty after I asked at least 3 times for water. Anyways ended up being so disappointing. I would not recommend this place for the service SUCKS.
