The James Hotel Rotterdam

Very nice hotel with outstanding and friendly staff. Located in the center of Rotterdam city, surrounded by many parking garages if you are driving there. We booked two rooms and they both were clean, spotless, comfortable and smelled good. The second floor had nice small shopping/ lounge area. They offer verity of snakes, cold and hot drinks, and few types of beers and wine. The breakfast items were limited but good enough to offer a good continental breakfast.

The James is a lovely boutique-like hotel, centrally located. Night life and many lovely restaurants around the hotel and walk ability factor is 9. Our room was pretty large with a fridge and coffee n tea making facility. The bathroom is well equipped with a nice shower. Beds were so comfortable. They have a 24 hour convenience store/eatery on the 2nd floor. Very convenient. We love this hotel. Will definitely return to stay.

Fantastic hotel, fantastic service and wonderful staff. In upgrading the room my wife asked for a quiet part of the hotel and the superb staff took notice of that and kindly placed us on the top floor. Which was quiet but also came with incredible views over the all of the city. The room itself was great, the hotel amenities are just what you want and the hotel is in a superb central location close to all sites and areas of interest. A big thanks to the wonderful staff for making us feel so welcome and looked after. Definitely a recommended hotel, we will certainly come back to the James when next travelling to Rotterdam.

Fabulous location close to central station,museums and metro station. Nice clean rooms, helpful staff. my only complaint would be the shower floor was exceptionally slippery. Gym was small but decent two could do yoga. Self serve cafe made a good breakfast

This hotel was nice. Right in the middle of everything. Room was clean, decent size, also had a work space. And when I walked in to check in it was as if the women at the front desk had a modeling job later that day. The girl whi helped me showed me where to go, where to eat and was very helpful. Nice property, beautiful people, great guest care.

This is the 10th time I stayed at The James hotel. Best price for a hotel in the centre of Rotterdam. Very clean, friendly, professional service. Spacious room, nice bed, bedding and pilllows. Situated between the Lijnbaan en de Coolsingel. Everything is within walking distance. TV connection could use some improvement. A lot of connecting/buffering.

Arrived at 11:00, walking distance from train station Rotterdam Central, and did the check-in paperwork. Left my luggage in locked area, to explore the city. Shops, food and museums all walking distance. Came back at 15:00 when room was ready (official time to check-in). Room on 8th floor, on a corner, street side. Lots of windows, lots of natural light. Ask for higher level for better view of the city. Ask other side of building for less noise. It didn't bother me - I love city noises. Construction at building next door, I wake up early myself, so didn't mind the noise. Breakfast not important to me, so fridge in the room was perfect for my own grocery shopping, stores nearby. No lock on inside of door, I still felt safe. Cosy bathroom, maybe too small if you're not traveling solo. I stayed for a week, would have liked more closet space (only 5 hangers). Paid small amount for late check-out, untill 13:00 instead of 11:00. Friendly staff, cosy vibes, warm lighting. Didn't want to leave!

We recently stayed at the James for a couple of nights prior to getting on a cruise that departed from Rotterdam. When booking the hotel we were flooded with numerous options from the sublime to the ridiculous. Many very small rooms with very large prices attached.||As the date got nearer decision time quickly approached both my wife and I independently found the "James". The pictures looked pretty good, the price was reasonable and the location seemed about right. We took the plunge and booked for two nights ahead of the cruise.||Flying in to Schiphol we took the train to Rotterdam Central, an easy trip just under 30 minutes. We began to research connections to the hotel from the station and found that it was about the same time to take the tram as it was to walk! So we walked with suitcases in tow about 10-15 minutes from the station along a pedestrian friendly route. A very easy walk, very few cars lots of pedestrians and lots of bikes. ||Check in was easy, with a very friendly efficient staff eager to assist. Our room was bright, modern and well appointed. Nice large comfy bed with great linens. It was also spotlessly clean.||Turns out the hotel is right in the middle of "the cool district". Pedestrian friendly, with loads of bars and restaurants. It is also in easy walking district of many of Rotterdam's tourist sight seeing spots.||Check in is standard 3:00pm with worked perfectly for our arriving 1:00pm flight and check out was 11:00am. just a little early for our check in time for our cruise. It would have been 3 stops on the tram from the end of the street-100yds or so. But since we had time to spare we walked took our time and with luggage and stops it still took us less than 30 minutes to walk to the cruise terminal:)||To sum up simply: great hotel, great price, great value, and a fabulous location. Other than that there is not much to say

Gorgeous hotel in central Rotterdam, about a 10-minute walk from the Centraal Station (which itself is an incredible architectural marvel). The James is a beautifully designed and immaculate place to stay; we loved the King bed, large shower and--on the 85-degree day we were in town--the AC. The staff was friendly and helpful and even stored our 10+ pounds of cheese (yes, we have a problem) in the hotel's main fridge because our in-room mini fridge couldn't keep the cheese cool enough. We also enjoyed the mini gym, the gorgeous lounge (pic attached) and the convenient location. Another bonus: there are just five to six rooms per floor, so you don't have people coming and going at all hours, which meant a quiet, restful sleep.

Really nice hotel, Very clean and the staff was accommodating. We enjoyed the Christmas decor and aromas in the hotel. The hotel's store was moderately priced and the location was in a nice area. Would visit again.
