A Hidden Gem in the Heart of Florence – The James
Tucked away on a quiet, elegant street—just a short stroll from the Duomo and all of Florence’s iconic sights—The James is the kind of boutique hotel you accidentally discover… and never want to leave.
From the moment I stepped through the doors, I knew I was in for something special. The design? Impeccable. A seamless mix of classic Florentine charm and contemporary sophistication. Think: luxurious textures, warm lighting, and thoughtful details that make you feel like you’re staying in someone’s very stylish townhouse (someone with exceptionally good taste).
The team? Phenomenal. Warm, intuitive, and genuinely caring—like they’ve known you for years and were waiting for your arrival. I felt more like a guest of honor than just another traveler passing through. I may or may not have tried to delay checkout… several times.
Now, let’s talk about the 1564 Lounge Bar. Great Negroni’s had a few. It’s the kind of bar that makes you want to cancel your evening plans and just stay put.
Dinner at Chef Axel Caldani restaurant was a masterclass in elegance. The menu? Sublime. Inventive without being pretentious, local but globally inspired.
In short: The James isn’t just a place to stay—it’s a place to be. Refined, intimate, quietly luxurious… a true Florentine treasure. Mille grazie to Manuela and the team for making it unforgettable. I’ll be back—and next time, I might not leave.
