I rarely leave reviews, but this experience was bad enough to warrant one.
We had a confirmed booking for 10:30 am, and the door states the restaurant opens at 10 am. Despite this, we weren’t allowed inside until 10:40 because staff said they “weren’t open yet.”
When we finally entered, the restaurant looked like it hadn’t been cleaned since the night before — tables and chairs scattered everywhere, dirty glasses still out, and tables that clearly hadn’t been wiped down. The lights and music weren’t even turned on until about 10 minutes after we sat down.
Customer service was extremely poor. We were told food doesn’t start until 11 am (which is completely fine), but during that time we weren’t offered water, given menus, or even told where to find them.
At 11:05, we attempted to order drinks and something small to eat. It took another 10 minutes just for the bartender to take our order because he wasn’t even in the restaurant. Another staff member was walking around moving tables but made no effort to serve us.
The food itself was decent; however, the website heavily promotes their cocktails. In reality, there were only five cocktails on the menu, the bartender didn’t know what a martini was, and the espresso martinis we received were completely undrinkable. I also have never heard of “khalewa,” which was mentioned as an ingredient in the drink.
This feels like a management and training issue rather than a one-off mistake, which is disappointing given the potential of the venue.
Unfortunately, I wouldn’t return or recommend it.
