Let's start off by saying I rarely leave reviews. It's not that I'm a difficult customer to please. I just rarely feel the need to shout about my experience. On this one, I need to shout about our experience... It was that good!
My wife and I stayed in the Gleason Cottage for two nights last weekend. The cottage is more than two people could ever need in the best of ways: clean, quiet, comfortable, spacious, and beautifully decorated and laid out. The cottage became a great excuse to downsize our weekend plans to "staying in" more than anticipated and escape the unseasonably cold weather.
What we loved:
1. Ian is a welcoming host and incredible person. Trust him in all things. He steered us well on where to eat, what to do, and how to make the most of our visit. He'll say, make yourself at home, but then makes it so for you.
2. Ian's breakfasts were a welcome highlight. In a word... delicious and saved recipe-worthy.
3. The Cottage was close to everything within a short walking distance making it easy to navigate dinner reservations without the headache of parking.
4. The Cottage was private enough to feel like you're in your own little world.
5. The Main House was an added bonus, offering all things extra in addition to cottage life.
6. You can do as much or as little as you'd like. While we had more grand plans, we opted to grab a nice dinner out before logging into Prime for some binge watching in bed.
7. We only saw other guests at breakfast. Though very pleasant guests, it was nice to hide away and only say hellos over coffee.
Staying at the Jarvis is a must do again. Staying in the Cottage is our plan. So do yourself a favor and book it. Visit Ian. Book a massage. Browse the town. Walk to dinner. Hide away at the end of the day. And enjoy yourself.
