The most wonderful of places to stay! Every detail from check in all the way to check out was well thought out. Customer service was amazing. The amenities (wine and cheese in the evening, sparkling wine and dessert at night, breakfast brought to you in the morning, etc) were such a great, unexpected touch. Located walking distance to many restaurants and shops, and still manage not to get a lot of loud noise. Definitely will be staying here on every Charleston trip from now on.

We love it here. This is our second visit. We stayed in the carriage house. It’s a historic building full of charm.|Our room was spacious with lots of storage space. The room was spotless. We had a very large walkin shower, towels were nice and soft.|There was strong free WIFI reception and plenty of charging points. The room has a tea/coffee maker with lots of choices, plus a fridge with complimentary water and soft drinks. Breakfast is an extensive continental with pastries, muffins, bagels, hard boiled eggs, yogurts, fruits, and savoury rolls, pastries etc.|In the late wine, beer and a charcuterie board is put out and later champagne with macaroons. |There is an enclosed private courtyard with trees, fountain, and wildlife to eat in or just relax in. Rooms come with a semi private veranda.|A big thank you to Mary who prepared breakfast and was a delight! Plus a big thank you to Darlene who serviced our room!|We will definitely return!

Loved this BnB. Every day they put out breakfast, lunch, dinner snacks. Champagne and macaroons for a late night snack! And they surprise you with treats in your room. The rooms were clean and authentic to Charleston. We were able to walk to everything we wanted to do.

A truly awesome manor to enjoy while exploring Charleston. Close to all but somehow felt away from the hustle and bustle. Our stay felt like we were staying at a friend's home, albeit a friend we were just meeting. The General Manager, Amanda, was exceptional as was Kim. Bella was also sweet and indulged me by showing me a very nice room and explaining that the owner had decorated the rooms herself - a most impressive mix of style, comfort and history. We cannot wait to return!

We stayed downstairs (Room 101, I think) in the main house. The room was beautifully appointed and very large. We were not expecting to stay here (we had booked the sister property Indigo Inn but the reservation did not go through - Kenneth at the Indigo front desk offered us this upgraded option for no extra charge) but we loved the charms of the Jasmine House. My only caution is that the room we were in was sometimes noisy, as it was downstairs, next to the porch and the entrance area. Other than that, we enjoyed the convenient parking nearby, the multiple restaurants within walking distance, the ability to walk anywhere else that we wanted. Wifi was excellent. Breakfast was good with many options, just not hot food (it was described as continental breakfast, but offered far more options than that.)

Fantastic bed and breakfast. It has a classic Charleston charm with an updated bathroom. Breakfast is served in bed with lots of hors, d'oeuvres and drinks offered in the kitchen throughout the day.

We stayed on the second floor of the carriage house. Staff was friendly. The room was pretty, very large, and opened to a piazza that overlooked the garden. Breakfast consisted of bagels, English muffins, pastries, granola, yogurt, and packaged crumb cakes. There were also apples, bananas, oranges and assorted fruit juices. The wine and cheese in the afternoon was very nice, and it was also walkable to museums and restaurants. There are two issues that may keep me from returning: 1 - it is a couple of buildings in from Meeting Street which can be quite noisy 2 - it needs a deep clean. While surfaces were free of dust, and the bed was comfy with fresh linens, someone really needs to vacuum behind the bed. There was black mold growing on the row of decorative tile in the shower. It looked as if though someone mops the bathroom floor, no one has taken the time to use a sponge cleaning corners or wiping down the baseboard.

Small, quaint boutique hotel. Thin walls. Basic continental breakfast with few gluten free options. Wine and cheese but some cheese was old, stale. Part of sister hotel, so check in process and finding room across street was strange. No one at this location to greet you or point you to room, which is challenging if you arrive at night. The staff we did see was friendly and they provided complimentary water. Convenient location and parking.

Yelp
The location is great! The only time we used our car was to visit the Yorktown, otherwise, we walked everywhere we wanted to go. Those who work here are so friendly and seen to love their jobs. The room was spacious enough and clean. The spread for wine and cheese was impressive and also delicious. While you pay $20/day to park, it's totally worth it because parking isn't easy to find around there. Park your car and forget about it. The rooms are cool and the beds comfortable.

Yelp
Got a night stay at the Jasmine House. What a beautiful house. Est. 1843 and it's got all the charm that goes with it. We stayed on the 2nd floor, it had a huge balcony with sofas and rocking chairs to enjoy the evening. Grabbed a bottle of wine from the liquor store up the street. Parking is available across the street. You also have access to the Indigo across the street where you check it...not sure why you need it? This property also has a large outdoor patio/garden for sitting. Just gorgeous!!! Continental breakfast included in the AM hours...oh - and happy hour wine and cheese in the lobby!!! If you want a romantic room and are looking for a place a bit fancier than a hotel room, The Jasmine House is for you. Guys, surprise your lady with a night or weekend here!!! You won't be disappointed!!!

Yelp
Great location to walking everywhere. Beautiful quite courtyard that you can relax in. Rooms are large with great period design and stocked with drinks and snacks. Continental breakfast in the mornings. Have cheese and wine in the evenings. The staff was very friendly. Would highly recommended staying here if you want something different than a normal hotel and enjoy the true style of Charleston!

Yelp
The Jasmine House Inn offers discerning guests an authentic South Charleston experience at a very reasonable price. Although the home is quite old and clearly needs some love in the maintenance department, The Jasmine House oozes with southern charm from every blemish and crack. From the three level piazzas in the front, the gorgeous, spacious courtyard in the back and all of the beautifully appointed rooms, you will be perfectly pampered. Since the human eye is such a wonderous thing and sees so much more than can be captured in pictures, the images truly do not offer an accurate account of how amazing this home is. You just need to enjoy it for yourself! Besides, you will likely meet new friends over a glass of wine in the garden.

Yelp
This house is beautiful. But due to COVID there's no one working on site. I'm frustrated we were not told that important detail. I would have booked elsewhere. You have to check in at the Inn down the street and go there to get food and anything you need. This is basically a high end, overpriced hostel right now. We were in Savannah before here and our Inn had a wonderful Innkeeper that cooked delicious fresh breakfast, wonderful cookies and coffee, and had gloves and sanitizers everywhere. This probably disappointed more after that. There's no hand sanitizer in site on any counter. You kind of feel abandoned. I recommend finding a better alternative during this time because this place shouldn't charge full price when they're offering half a service.

Yelp
I don't have a single complaint about this unique Bed and Breakfast style hotel. Great location (my friend and I never even rented a car) near King Street, restaurants, shops, and the battery. The Inn has the feeling of an old Southern mansion, with daily wine and cheese on the porch (complete with rocking chairs) and breakfast laid out every morning to eat in their beautiful and large courtyard. Best part is that it was never crowded. It was full according to the Inn's employees but I rarely saw anyone. Almost felt like it was my own massive mansion! Definitely worth checking out!

Yelp
Our group of four decided to spend the first leg of our Charleston/Savannah Christmas by spending three nights in Charleston at The Jasmine House Inn. My husband and I booked the Canton Room while our friends booked the Chrysanthemum Room right across from us. Both rooms are located on the second floor and share a huge balcony that spans the length of the house; each room provides direct access to the balcony. Though the balcony is open for anyone to enjoy, it really felt like it was a private balcony for those staying in these two rooms. There really is no reason for anyone staying in another room to venture to the second floor to walk out to the balcony when there is a really nice and large front porch with rocking chairs and a beautiful courtyard area at the back of the house for those staying in one of the Carriage Rooms. The location of The Jasmine House is perfect for strolling through old, historic Charleston. It's right off of Meeting Street where a lot of the shops are located, and about 3 blocks from City Market where local artisans sell a variety of items. If you're going to do a lot of strolling in this area, there is really no need to drive your car. Just leave it in the parking lot of the Indigo Inn which owns the Jasmine House Inn, and you'll be fine. My only disappointment was that there was no living room and it really felt like were staying in more of a boarding house than a B&B. One of the things we really enjoy about B&Bs is the opportunity to relax in the living room of the home, meet other visitors, and enjoy lovely conversations with the innkeeper. That was a missing piece at the Jasmine House. Breakfasts were placed downstairs in a hallway area where you could serve yourself and either eat in your room, on your balcony, in your sitting room, or outside in the courtyard area. Upon checking out, we took a stroll through Indigo Inn and were glad we chose the Jasmine House for our stay. There is nothing wrong with Indigo Inn, as they share a front desk and reception/staff, but it felt like more of a converted motel with a common middle/courtyard area, whereas Jasmine House is a mansion converted into an "almost" B&B style accommodation. Would I stay here again? Maybe. I'll likely look for a more traditional B&B next time around, but if the price is right, I'd choose Jasmine House Inn simply for the location.

Yelp
I was delighted with the Jasmine House Inn. The staff were very polite and hospitable - Margaret, who checked us in, offered to walk us over from the Indigo Inn (we traveled light, so we opted to show ourselves over) and then called to make sure that we liked the room. The staff were more available and welcoming than the staff at most hotels I've stayed in, and it was a breeze to check in and out. The room was clean and exceptionally comfortable. I was anxious because I saw unflattering reviews of the sister hotel, but I thought the sheets seemed fresh and the bathroom was spotless. I saw a couple of reviews that mentioned mustiness - when I walked in I noticed that the house smelled like other historic homes I've toured, and it doesn't bother me a bit. Like the smell of old books, it's pleasant to me. I vastly prefer the Jasmine House to most other places I've stayed. The only possible downside I can think of is that the sounds from the hall do carry right into the first-floor rooms. It's a house, though - it's not meant to be hermetically sealed (staying on upper floors might provide a little more quiet, as well). The breakfast was quite good. The decor was gorgeous - so unique and appropriate to an 18th-century home. And of course the location was outstanding. I would happily stay here again, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a place with character and good service.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I went to Charleston for 5 nights. We stayed at the Jasmine Inn for the majority of the time and it was our favorite place in Charleston! The Inn was beautiful and the room was absolutely lovely. We were both so sad to leave. Also, the location for the Inn is great! You can walk to basically everything you want from the Inn. I would highly recommend this Bed and Breakfast and we definitely plan on staying there again!

Yelp
Location, location, location! So perfectly situated in the historic downtown area of Charleston. I tried first for the Indigo but they were full so they suggested the Jasmine which they also own. After checking in at Indigo, I think we got the better deal as I have to agree with the motel feel of the Indigo. We stayed in a 2nd floor room in the actual house (there is a separate carriage house behind the main house with maybe 6 additional rooms in it) and had to access through the house and up the back stairway. The bathroom was typically small although with updated shower and fixtures. The door opened in front of one of the 2 sinks though which made getting ready the same time as someone else impossible. Also, there is no exhaust fan so when you shower, you have to leave the door open or you won't be able to see through the fog on the mirrors for a long time. Our bed was the one in the photo with the lace around the top of the canopy and the green chair to the left of the bed. This bed is made of concrete, fyi. Not sure if this is the same bed as in every room but we were sore all the next day because of it. I agree that the lack of a place to socialize makes this less than a B&B and actually less than a hotel really. I wish they would've kept one of the 2 front rooms as a living room so we could've all met the other house guests there during the wine and cheese hour. Or else have held the wine and cheese hour out in the courtyard. But overall, for the price and location, this is the best bet for staying in the middle of the action in downtown Charleston. With all there is to do out in the city, time spent in the room will be very limited!

Yelp
Awesome location, we were right in the middle of everything. Their recommendations were all pleasing, very clean accommodations and friendly staff. Would def stay again

Yelp
We made a great decision by choosing to stay at a charming inn rather than a hotel. Our room took us back in time with the high ceilings and decorative moulding. The location is perfect and in walking distance to the market, restaurants, as well as King street. The inn staff, Brian in particular, was excellent and really accommodating during our stay. We recommend this inn to anyone wanting to feel a part of Charleston.
