Great ice cream and delicious homemade waffle cone! Came mid afternoon on a warm Saturday afternoon in the summer and waited in line. Line moves quick. We loved the strawberry dark chocolate and the Carl. Waffle cones were an extra 3.50 but were hot so could tell they were fresh. Would recommend if you are in the area!

Google
So many flavors it was hard to choose from! All their ice cream is homemade and everything was delicious. I got their brownie a la mode flavor in a sugar cone and loved it. The ice cream base was delicious and had brownie pieces mixed in which I loved. It melts fast so be prepared to eat quickly or have napkins ready to go! There was a line to order but it moved quickly. Definitely worth trying!

Google
No arguments! The best ice cream on Nantucket! They've really figured out how to make the line move, even for an all-cash ice cream parlor. Spectacular birthday cakes.

Google
Wow I didn’t know waffle cones could the star of the show! When you walk in, you immediately get hit with the smell of the most delicious waffles getting prepared. Ice cream was top notch too.

Emily Laramy

Google
Best ice cream I’ve had in a while. I got the cake batter vanilla scoop with their homemade waffle cone which tastes like a crispy cookie. Had this twice during our visit and already missing it.

If you haven’t had this ice cream, you haven’t yet had the best! Try the banana and get the waffle cone too.

I had high hopes for The Juice Bar on Nantucket because of all the hype and the constant line out the door, but to be honest, it ended up being pretty underwhelming. The line was so long, which made me think I was about to try the best ice cream on the island, but once I finally got to the front and tasted it, it was just okay. Definitely not worth the long wait or the hype that surrounds it. The place is called The Juice Bar, which is kind of misleading because it’s mostly known for its ice cream. They do offer smoothies and a few other things, but it’s really more of an ice cream shop than anything else. And the ice cream itself just wasn’t that great — average flavor, average texture, nothing special that made it stand out. I’ve had way better ice cream in less crowded places without all the noise. I think the popularity comes more from tradition and the fact that it’s a “must-do” on the island rather than the quality of what they serve. It felt like one of those spots that people go to just because everyone else is doing it. The store is cramped, the whole thing feels rushed, and while the staff tries to keep things moving, it doesn’t make the experience any better. If you’re curious, it might be worth trying once, but if you’re looking for amazing ice cream without the hassle, I’d say skip it. The Juice Bar is honestly overhyped and just not as good as people make it out to be.

Google
Dirty Grasshopper: A+ Warm Waffle Cone: A+ Juice Bar lived up to all the hype. Got there after they had locked the door at closing since there were still customer inside and they graciously let us in. Can’t wait to go again.

Yelp
We have been coming to the island for many years and this is one of our favorite places. Service is always kind and friendly. Prices are high, for one scoop and a waffle cone your price will be about eleven dollars. The time you go will decide how long the line is. If you go when open until about 1pm usually no or very short lines. After dinner can get very crowded. The line usually moves pretty fast. Here is my top 3 flavors, coming in at: 3-cake batter 2-mango sorbet Drumroll...... 1-coffee cake. Omg, so yum If you like cinnamon make sure you try the coffee cake.

Yelp
Very good ice cream! Once there is mint Oreo, I'm getting it! Also paid $3.50 extra to get the homemade waffle cone. All together it was $12 for a scoop in the cone but was worth it!

Yelp
Very popular spot in downtown for ice cream. Pretty much everyone knows that juice bar is the place for dessert. I was able to go when there was no line right after lunch. I got a waffle cone with strawberry and cookies n cream. Asked for a cup since I knew the ice cream would immediately melt right as I stepped outside. The worker knew exactly what I meant when I asked for a cup. He gave me spoons as well. There is really no room for anyone to stay inside to enjoy their dessert. It is quite lively and bustling. They are a busy business and try to keep the customers go in and out efficiently. It isn't the best ice cream, but a nice spot for dessert. Not a must have if the line stretches out and curves around the block. When you walk around, you see everyone with either a cup or cone from The Juice Bar. Like everything on Nantucket, this isn't cheap, but most dessert shop ice cream isn't cheaper than buying it at a grocery store. Go for the instagram shot or Yelp/Google photo and make the most of the moment.

Yelp
Tourist trap but had to go since locals recommended it. Good (but not amazing) quality ice cream! The inside is small but operations ran smoothly. There is only room for a few people inside and the rest of the line wraps around the building outside so it always looks like they're busier than they are. We ordered two-scoop cup of hot caramel and Oreo plus another two-scoop cup of pistachio for $28. You could stop at the grocery store and get 6 pints of the same but you're paying for the experience and service and the Insta opportunities so you decide whether this gives you value.

Yelp
Welcome to Nantucket. No seriously... this is one of the first places right off the ferry. Yes, it's expensive, but there's some aspects that are well worth the price. First the smoothies... it's a toss up between watermelon cream or the razz. They're both ridiculously good -if you like sweet, how with the watermelon, the razz is a perfect level of tart. The ice cream is pretty good and they have your staples like chocolate, and some more niche flavors like Cookie Butt. Try it. It's great. The line is more manageable around lunch... but around dinner it's going strong until 10. But don't worry, it moves fast; however, there will inevitably be a family mid meltdown during one of your visits. At least it keeps the wait interesting!

Yelp
Great ice cream in delicious homemade waffle cones! I loved the cookies and cream flavor. The cookie dough wasn't bad either. Lines are long but they move very quickly! Helped in part by the fact they don't allow sampling. Highly recommend!

Yelp
You can't go to Nantucket without stopping at the Juice Bar! The line moves quickly and you're greeted by the scents of freshly made waffle cones and bowls. The selection of homemade flavors is endless. My go to for decades has been triple chocolate mountain ! Dont skip this spot!!
google avatar

Yelp
The busiest life cream shop on island by far, but it's because they serve good good thick homemade ice cream. Two scoops is the best bang for your buck, don't bother three scoops as it's pretty much the same the same size when ordering- two is perfect to share. The line is long, but it goes QUICK. They have a lot of staff moving quickly, and working hard! You can smell the goodness from the street- don't skip! Did not try the watermelon cream, but heard it's a Nantucket favorite.

Yelp
Everyone raves about The juice Bar. For the positive: nice location in Nantucket's downtown/central business district. Efficient and friendly service. For the negative: overpriced even for Nantucket, $36 for 3 - single scoop waffle cones. The taste was adequate, but nothing to write home about. Trendy and you have to try once, but we wouldn't go back. Really liked Millie's for ice cream near Madaket Beach.
google avatar

Mariam H.

Yelp
Love the ice cream here!! Line moves quickly if there's a long line. Flavors are all across the board. Would definitely go back!

Yelp
Visited this place twice in a week while on vacation. I had heard a lot of good things about it so we had to check it out. They make everything from ice cream to waffle cones and you must try their waffle cone (I liked it in the cup). Some flavors I tried and liked are Strawberry with Dark Chocolate Chip, Coffee Oreo and Green Monster. They have daily specials too. There were no lines on rainy days or afternoons but in the evening there definitely is a line! Prices are more than usual but it's Nantucket... Definitely worth checking out.

Yelp
Ohhhh so no one was exaggerating when they said this spot serves literally the best ice cream ever. We were in town for 3 days and we went every. single. day. I don't normally have so much ice cream in my diet but when you're in Nantucket, this is definitely a must. Ugh I'm still dreaming about it! Not a tourist trap at all, and certainly worth the hype. Each time we swung by in the afternoon (around 2-4pm), the line was never crazy and it goes fast. We'd wait about 10 min max. Unfortunately they don't do samples here but FORTUNATELY any flavor you get will be amazing. We tried 6 different scoops between our 3 visits and each of them were so damn good. Coffee Oreo, coconut, pistachio, strawberry dark chocolate chip, the Carl, Almond Joy... would recommend them all. There's just something about the consistency of the texture and how they get the flavors so good. Miss you, Juice Bar. Hope to visit again soon.

Yelp
Heard great things about the ice cream, so I had to come by and try it. The line was insanely long but it did move very quickly. I had the purple haze special (blackberry cake batter with dark chocolate chips) and it was good. A singular scoop costs almost $8 which I thought was pricey. For the area, the ice cream is the best, but that being said, I've had better. Overall, would come back though since they did have some unique flavors. Nice, hole-in-the-wall place, literally.

Yelp
I went at 5:30 on a Tuesday and only one family was ahead of me in line. I had a small amaretto chip and it was excellent. They use large chunks of chocolate. It tasted fresh. There is no seating. It was $8 for a small scoop in a cup. Staff was friendly and happy to be at work.
google avatar

Grover G.

Yelp
THE JUICE BAR!!!!! best ice cream on island hands down and they have the creamiest shakes. Cones are always fresh and they have such a large variety of flavors, toppings and vessels for the ice cream! My go to is rum raisin and it brings me back to my childhood every time I have it. I love this place, just make sure to plan it out because sometimes it can have a pretty LONGG line.
google avatar

Marcie G.

Yelp
It's worth the wait. The ice cream was dreamy. I had the cherry chocolate chip in a sugar bowl. Delicious! The line moved quickly. Service was friendly and speedy. The scan code helped with knowing what you want while waiting in line. The place was clean.

Yelp
Came here 4 years ago and have been craving it since. I was so grateful to go back to Nantucket recently and get another smoothie. I got the Peach on the Beach smoothie and it was so refreshing. It's a great spot on a humid New England day. The line can be long but it is always fast. Love meeting the kids who are working there for the season. It's a stop I'll always make when visiting.
google avatar

Dave F.

Yelp
Came here on Sunday before the season, so they were only open weekends. In either case, walked in, they had a giant menu that took a menu to digest, along with a specials board. Two registers were open to take your order. Based on reviews, I figured this would be the best ice cream while I was here, so I got a triple in a waffle cup that cost me nearly $19 with tax. When in Nantucket... The three flavors I got were: -The Carl (chocolate ice cream w/ marshmallow and chocolate chips) -Crantucket -Caramel Biscoff Swirl I could have done without the cranberries, but I had wanted to try something unique. The Carl was awesome, as it had some toppings mixed in for various flavor mashup. The Caramel Biscoff Swirl was their special flavor, it was vanilla ice cream with caramel swirl, white chocolate chips and Biscoff cookie bites and recommended by the staff. It was good. I didn't get to try any of the other big name ice cream shops on the island, but you can't go wrong here if you have money to burn.
google avatar

Megan W.

Yelp
A trip to Nantucket isn't complete without The Juice Bar! Amazing flavors and delicacies every time I visit! Don't be deterred by the line, it moves quickly!
google avatar

Katherine Z.

Yelp
The waffle cone and waffle cups are a must try here. The ice cream is thick and flavorful. The staff favorites are toffee crunch and brownie. The interior is a bit crowded, but there are up to four stations where you can place your order.
google avatar

Neha M.

Yelp
Visiting Nantucket and of course I had to try ice cream at the juice bar. I decided to get two scoops in a cup. Cherry chocolate (MUST get) and the coffee oreo - which was okay. A must try when you visit.
google avatar

Jackie O.

Yelp
No samples!!!! excellent cookie dough ice cream! Waffles cones and bowls are so fresh you smell them making them from down the street. Service is pretty good! Super small place inside and always a line out the door
google avatar

Amy W.

Yelp
THIS IS WORTH THE HYPE! We don't get Grape Nut Ice cream on the west coast, I believe it is a New England thing. But I remember it so fondly from my childhood, I was excited to see if it lived up to my memory. AND IT DID. You might think "Grape Nuts and Ice cream" - WTF? if I wanted fiber - I would eat the cereal. But grape nuts hold up so well in ice cream that they are still a little crunchy - and the Ice cream base was something more than vanilla - maybe like a cereal milk? FRIGGIN YUMMY!. I got the kiddy cone - and it was pretty big, I suspect because they are about to close for the season and maybe it isn't a popular flavor. I need to try and make this. And if this review has you intrigued... look up other popular grape nut desserts, Like Grape Nut pudding and Grape Nut pie!!

Yelp
Absolutely LOVE the juice bar! It is a complete must if you're in island and want an ice cream treat! I highly recommend the Amaretto Chip! I know the line can get long, but it's very quick and worth the wait! Excellent choice of options and an absolute Nantucket must!
google avatar

Yelp
Update... second experience was 5 stars. The first time must have been a bad waffle day or not the vibe, because this time I got a kiddie strawberry dark chocolate chip in a waffle cone and holy moly. Best ice cream experience I've ever had. The guy scooping my ice cream was a true king, he must have piled on 2+ scoops into that cone (SO much more compared to one scoop in a cup) and there must have been an entire bar of chocolate in my one cone. My friend got the same exact order again (coffee Oreo in a waffle cone) and agreed her experience this time was significantly better than last time. So definitely get the waffle cone because you get more bang for your buck! (Giving 4 stars for price... still so expensive)

Yelp
The Juice Bar is a convenient and well-oiled snack machine and that's why we visited a few times during our stay on the island. Coffee Oreo on a Waffle Cone is awesome! Very creamy. Awesome combination. Sunrise Smoothie is very refreshing. Mango Sherbet on a Waffle Cone is also good. The waffle cone is delicious. The RAZZ Smoothie is a bit more tart but equally refreshing. The Strawberry Bliss Smoothie is very comforting. Depending on the time of day and the day of the week, the line could get so long that it wraps around the admittedly-very-short block. But don't worry, the line moves fairly quickly. The waffle cones and the ice creams are made in house. This cute shop is very conveniently located almost at the pier where the ferries disembark. Long line that goes around the curb. Curb is short and line goes real fast because they have a lot of workers. There are also a lot of merchandise if you want to grab a souvenir.

Kristen B.

Yelp
Got the coconut ice cream which was the most creamy texture of ice cream I've ever had! Line was super long but if you wait for a while after a ferry docks it should die down. Either way, worth the wait!
google avatar

Elise M.

Yelp
Had to check it out while in Nantucket. There was a bit of a line, but it moved quickly. Seven dollars for a single scoop of ice cream. I had the cookie dough. It was good, but not the best I've ever had. I would give 3 1/2 stars if I could, but I rounded up because I would go back and the person I was traveling with enjoyed their chocolate chip cone

Katy R.

Yelp
For $8 you a kids cup. Today each flavor we got was like soup. I still don't get the allure. Other options for ice cream are available.
google avatar

Emily M.

Yelp
For my first trip to Nantucket, I of course had to try The Juice Bar! The locals rave about this casual ice cream shop and it did not disappoint! I had black cherry ice cream on a cone and it was FANTASTIC! We were only on the island one day; otherwise, I would have been here multiple times! Definitely make this part of your adventures on Nantucket. :)
google avatar

Yelp
We checked out the Juice Bar after dinner and there was a bit of a line which wasn't a big deal. But then once we got to the front of the line by the two registers next to each other, the guy went to the register to our right and started taking the order for 4 people behind us? It was so bizarre. Then we tried to explain that we were next in line and he was like, "oh you're with this group?" And we're like, "no, we are first in line. We just want some cookies" lol. So then he proceeded to take the order of the people behind us and told us to just wait cause someone would help us but they didn't come help us for another few minutes. It's not really a big deal, but it was just kind of a weird experience. We ordered 2 cookies and they were kind of stale so after all that it wasn't even that good. Oh well - probably won't be coming back!
google avatar

Ashley W.

Yelp
SO GOOD. I heard some big hype about this ice cream spot and it was worth the 40 min wait to get it! I got the Carl flavor + banana with a little bit of their Reece's butter cake on top and it was dreamy. I wish they gave out samples but they were nice enough to put a little bit on top! The ice cream is creamy, smooth and fresh. Also, waffle cone... maybe the best I've had. Definitely worth the wait.
google avatar

Trevor S.

Yelp
Don't believe the hype. In the height of summer the line can stretch literally across the street. Can't hold that against them. And it does move. But the ice cream is... fine? It's ice cream. It's good. Is it magically better than other places? No. Kids seem to love the aura around this place, but if the line is crazy we just head down the street to the other place that freshly makes waffle cones.
google avatar

Anthony P.

Yelp
Kept seeing this place recommended by locals and frequent visitors online so I decided to check it out with the family; heard great things about their blackberry ice cream, and there's a time through the year where they use Nantucket-grown blackberries! I'm not sure if we arrived in that window, but we got the blackberry and it was delicious BLACKBERRY ICE CREAM Yummy, tart and creamy with a fruity blackberry finish to really drive home the point that yes- this is blackberry! It was smooth in texture and you don't see this flavor too often so I was happy to get it and I'm very happy with it. STRAWBERRY ICE CREAM To me, what separates a good from great strawberry ice cream is pieces of real strawberry that kinda hit you with that tart fresh strawberry flavor which this didn't really have, but still had a great creamy and non-artificial tasting strawberry flavor. Also, I saw this place get talked about for their cookies and cream ice cream so maybe check that out if you go! I should have gotten that with the blackberry ice cream :)
google avatar

Chrissy T.

Yelp
Ice cream was good but not the best, I like the sugar waffle cone in a cup, it was a nice crispy addition. I would just say 8$ for a kiddie cup is wild.
google avatar

Moni G.

Yelp
Not enough stars... great ice cream... go early cause it will get a huge line... it's that good
google avatar

Ciara C.

Yelp
This ice cream is phenomenal, both regular and vegan. My first visit I got the vegan vanilla and it was very good. I feel that because it's handmade, the ice cream made with coconut milk is super creamy vs being chalky and unpleasant. The next time, I got cookies and cream on top of butter pecan and it was great. I don't typically like chocolate, but the cookies and cream was super good. The waffle cones are also good, which I don't typically like. I appreciate that they have different flavors regularly because it helps you explore different things. They also have sorbet if you want it. The setup is to wait in line, go in and order, and then go out and around the other side of their building to wait for your name to be called and get your goodies. I like the setup.

Eric N.

Yelp
Best ice cream on Nantucket! A must when on the island and they do have a lot of different flavors, including flavors of the day.
google avatar

Samantha H.

Yelp
Came here for ice cream and it was well worth it. Pretty sure everything here is homemade. It smells amazing as you soon as you get near this place. My husband and I shared a chipwich with vanilla ice cream in the middle and it was amazing. You can really tell the difference when you go to a place with homemade ice cream. My daughter enjoyed her ice cream as well. It was expensive for ice cream but worth it. Would defintley recommend.
google avatar

Sheri W.

Yelp
Yes, it's worth the insanely long but organized line. It's also worth it to order the waffle cone. Just do it -- you won't have regrets.
google avatar

Matt S.

Yelp
Do not be intimidated by the line! It moves very efficiently. Ice cream is also worth the hype with rotating special everyday. Thought it was a little pricey even for the island but worth splurge for a 1-2 time visit
google avatar

Katherine R.

Yelp
A must do on Nantucket! The ice cream is so good and there are so many flavors to try. The line frequently goes down the street and wraps around the corner, so it can be intimidating to try, but I think it's worth the wait. It's all part of the experience!
google avatar

Anne W.

Yelp
Really good ice cream and creative drinks. Definitely on the pricey side. You walk in and are hit with the rich smell of freshly made waffle cones . Service is friendly and efficient - a well oiled ice cream machine! We were lucky and hit it mid day when there wasn't a long line, but I have seen the line backed up for multiple blocks at other times of day. Not sure I would actually find it worth waiting that long...but for our experience, it was fantastic.
google avatar

Madeline C.

Yelp
good ice cream with a lot of options. i always seem to order ice cream badly and never end up liking my flavor. i got the chocolate peanut butter cookie dough flavor and my idiot self knew after i put the order in that it was going to be a chocolate base. it was still ok but the pb cookie dough was strange. didn't rlly feel like it matched the description of it being a pb cookie dough. some pieces were just peanuts and some were a hunk of pb but not cookie dough that is flavored pb. although it wasn't my favorite ik it wasn't bad ice cream. just don't order what i did.
google avatar

Darlene C.

Yelp
Very creamy and delicious! Great flavor choices! Prices are crazy high but it's Nantucket!
google avatar

Kevin B.

Yelp
The Juice Bar is the quintessential ice cream joint on Nantucket. They have a variety of flavors (most traditional, though some unique ones) and offer freshly-made waffle cones and bowls (or you can get regular cups). The ice cream was good but not amazing. And the prices are eye-watering (over $6 for a single scoop, and an extra $3 for a waffle cone). Worth visiting if you want to try it just because it's "classic," but for the money you could probably find better sweet treats elsewhere.
google avatar

Christine J.

Yelp
I went straight from the airport to this place. I love ice cream and ice cream loves me (most of the time). Juice Bar did not disappoint. We ordered two waffle cones with double scoops. They have a flavor of the day, which combines two of my favorite guilty pleasure sweets--caramel and KitKat. Yes, in an ice cream. The other flavors were shadowed in comparison to this one, but delicious nonetheless. To top it off, you can smell the sweet sugar of the home made waffle cones as you walk up. It's worth the hype.

SAMIRA G.

Yelp
The line looked daunting, especially since it wrapped about the building and across the street, but it only took 20 min (it moved quickly so it didn't seem too long). You MUST order a waffle cone or cup. Freshly made, it enhances the flavor of the ice cream. All the flavors our group ordered were amazing: cake batter, brownie a la mode, mint chip, strawberry dark chocolate chip, cherry chunk, and pecan butter. There's nowhere to sit, just stand order and take out. Staff is quick and efficient (half were just trying to get through orders, the other half were customer service oriented). Ambiance was clean, loud and hectic.
