The Jungle Dakar

We visited Jungle Dakar last night. When we called the day before, they said no reservation was needed so we could just walk in and request a table! When we arrived, we asked for a nice table, and the hostess rudely said it was reserved. Instead, she seated us at a small, uncomfortable table with tiny chairs. We asked for another table, but she insisted it wasn’t possible because all were reserved. We then asked two more waiters/waitresses, and the last one was much nicer. She spoke with the manager, who helped move us to a better table. Unfortunately, the overall service was very poor. The staff seemed disinterested and unfriendly, the table was not properly cleaned, and there was a noticeable lack of professionalism. The only staff member who was more helpful was the manager, and the last waitress who helped us move tables at least she made an effort to assist! Regarding the show, when we called, they said there was a DJ and dancers on Saturday and Sunday, but they did not specify the time. We arrived around 22:00 PM, expecting to see the performance, but it was actually scheduled for 1 AM. Since we couldn’t stay that late, we didn’t see the performance. Additionally, the staff working there seemed disinterested and lacked energy, which affected the overall experience! Honestly, the atmosphere and service did not match what you might expect from the videos on TikTok. On the positive side, the drinks and shisha were okay , and the manager was helpful . Overall, the service and atmosphere do not meet expectations for the price, and I would not recommend Jungle Dakar unless improvements are made in hospitality, customer care, and communication

We called to do a reservation which was aknowledged. We recognize we were late (about 20 minutes) but no one explained to us that we can pay to keep our table. We arrived and the security guy told us we can't enter because the reservations are put down. But in front of us, he was letting other people enter just after a yes for the question "did you do reservation?". When my brother asked for explanation, he said "we know our clients". Very rude and impolite for someone I can feed every single month without an impact on my finances. On top? Telling us to "get lost". Unfortunately, I'm not sure you (that particular guy) are able to understand english to read this. But if you know your clients just make it a close house for just them. It's not my first or second time going there so I didn't get the point of that nonsense behavior. If it's good, we'll say it. If it's bad, we'll say it because at the end of the day, we are the clients paying with our hard money. You're offering a service and we're paying for it. People don't come there to beg. So try to "educate" your workers.

This place is awesome! Seriously, if you want a good time, you gotta check it out; the food, service, and music were all spot on. I loved it so much I went back the next day, lol. It's one of my favorite spots in Dakar. Can't wait to go back!

Abdellah (the man standing at the entry checking VIP on 30 Decembre) was incredibly rude. We paid 20,000 to come in to watch the Benin Senegal match. When we arrived there were no chairs left, but the waiters were bringing additional chairs. I asked if we could have two chairs and he brought me one. I then asked again for the other chair and he said there were no more, so I went OUTSIDE where they were taking the chairs from and got one myself. Then when I brought it back he came again. I asked him “what is it?” And he’s telling me to calm down. Instead of apologizing for not having chairs. Then he left without even saying what the issue was. Absolutely unprofessional and beyond rude.

Only thing nice was the atmosphere. Except for the crazy loud music. Food looks pretty, but tastes 2/5 tasting. Don’t order the beef brochette nor the roasted chicken or the plantains. Especially given the price. Please improve.

Incredible views, beautiful spot, super friendly and accommodating staff and most importantly, Senegalese owned! They have vegan options on request and were so accommodating to dietary requirements when informed. We will definitely be back upon our next trip back to Dakar. Highly, highly recommend.

Spent my sister’s birthday there, and honestly such a fun night in Dakar. We had nice drinks, food, and the staff was lovely. There was even dancers! I haven’t had this much fun in a while, on top of super friendly service

Not allowed in because I wasn’t wearing pants. As a foreigner and first time visitor you will probably but be ready for the heat even at night but if you want to enter you need to wear pants. Maybe next time.
