A Review of The Junto in Columbus, Ohio | Hotels Above Par - Boutique Hotels & Travel

"Located in the new Peninsula development within the Franklinton Arts District, this four-star hotel serves as a social-minded gateway to Columbus with 198 rooms ranging from standard accommodations and downtown lofts to bunk rooms and an expansive apartment. Public spaces center on a lobby-forward concept inspired by Benjamin Franklin’s civic club, where a communal Trade Room provides coworking by day and a buzzy bar by night and hosts evening “Trade Room Talks” with local cultural voices. Design leans mid-century and industrial with bright corridors and tranquil, blue-hued guest rooms; on-site amenities include multiple dining outlets, outdoor fireplaces, sun terraces and gardens, a fitness center, pet-friendly rooms, and a signature gear-lending program that supplies bikes, kayaks, GoPros and picnic kits for adventurous guests. Rates start around $197/night and the property positions visitors conveniently between downtown and galleries, breweries, and parks."

Place is awesome. We had a birthday party one night at the Brass Eye which was great, especially the views. Then we spent NYE in the lobby bar downstairs. The manager who runs the downstairs bar is fantastic and made sure we had everything we needed. We also really enjoyed the coffee shop in the morning. Would highly recommend this place.

We stayed at The Junto and loved so many little details, the welcome drink token was such a nice touch and our view was beautiful. The staff were incredibly helpful and valet was absolutely worth it because of how fast and organized they were. The only downsides were the lack of a trash can in the bathroom and some leftover hair in the shower, which wasn’t ideal. Thankfully, the location was great and pickups with Uber were super easy. Overall, we had a really nice stay.

We just returned from a staycation at The Junto with our two young kids, and it truly exceeded every expectation. We paired our stay with a visit to COSI, and The Junto was the perfect home base for a family getaway. From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make our stay special. They were incredibly warm, attentive, and genuinely thoughtful—especially with our kids. The surprise of cookies and milk waiting for them was such a lovely touch and instantly made them feel welcomed and excited. It’s the kind of detail that turns a great stay into a memorable one. The activity room was another huge win for our family. Having board games available gave the kids a fun place to unwind, laugh, and play together, which made the stay feel relaxed and easy for us as parents. And the restaurant—absolutely amazing. The food was outstanding, and the atmosphere struck the perfect balance between upscale and family-friendly. It was refreshing to enjoy such a high-quality dining experience without feeling out of place with young children. The Junto has clearly mastered the art of hospitality, especially for families. This was more than just a hotel stay—it was an experience we’ll be talking about for a long time. We can’t wait to come back and would recommend The Junto without hesitation to anyone looking for a thoughtful, welcoming, and truly special stay.

**Updated 1/6**: I accidentally posted the wrong review earlier and have now updated it to reflect our stay at Junto. I appreciate Junto’s kind and professional reply to my mistake. We stayed at The Junto for a couple of days over Christmas and had a wonderful experience. The room was spacious, and we were lucky to receive an upgrade to a city-view room — we loved looking out at COSI and the evening skyline. Our kids especially enjoyed it, and COSI being right across the street was incredibly convenient. Breakfast in the lobby was excellent, and the staff were warm and friendly throughout our stay. I also used valet parking — kudos to the valet team: always efficient, courteous, and very helpful. We would definitely stay here again!

Google
First time at this hotel. Great location. Easy walk to Nationwide Arena. Close to several restaurants/breweries. Great interior and rooms. Anthony greeted us. Great check in experience. Loved the little cafe and the bar. Wonderful, lovely communal space in the lobby. The valet is a bit expensive but worth it, IMHO. Great service from them as well

Google
The Junto is more than just a hotel—it’s a whole vibe. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere felt warm, stylish, and welcoming. The lobby buzzes with energy, often filled with students using it as a casual co-working or study space. The bar and fireplace lounge area create a cozy, inviting ambiance that makes you want to linger. Our stay exceeded expectations across the board. The location was ideal, and the complimentary shuttle made getting to the game effortless. Staff were attentive and friendly, and the entire property was impeccably clean. Morning coffee delivery and the “Old Fashioned for Two” were delightful touches that added charm and fun to the experience. Yes, the price is on the higher side—but it absolutely delivers. Being able to bring our dog and walk her at COSI just across the street was a sweet bonus. We noticed plenty of street parking nearby if you're looking to save, but we opted for valet since we weren’t driving much—and the service was excellent. All in all, our stay at The Junto was the perfect complement to our trip. I’m seriously considering making it my go-to spot whenever I’m in Columbus. We’ll definitely be back

Google
The Junto has officially become "our place" in Columbus. We came back for a two night stay over my birthday in early November and it somehow managed to top every previous visit. From the minute we pulled up, the hospitality was dialed in. Warm greeting at the door, easy check in, and that feeling that the staff actually recognizes and cares about you. We started our days at Maudine’s with excellent coffee and pastries, then bounced between lunch and happy hour in the lower bar. Every dish and drink felt considered, not generic hotel food. In the evening we ended up at Brass Eye for a nightcap, looking out over the city with great cocktails and relaxed, unpretentious vibes. The suite we stay in with the oversized tub feels like it was built for us. Modern. Cozy. Romantic. Huge soaking tub, great shower, super comfortable bed, and thoughtful design details everywhere you look. Every stay at The Junto somehow becomes more magical than the last. If you are looking for a place in Columbus that combines design, comfort, and genuinely kind people... stay here.

Google
Absolutely lovely stay at The Junto! From the moment you walk in til you leave, you’ll enjoy it! It’s all the small things and beautifully elegant rooms that will make you love your stay. The lobby is a blend of hotel lobby, coffee shop, cocktail bar and a little library with a central fire pit. It’s so warm and just makes you want to relax with a good book. The room was quite comfortable, very clean. The gear garage was such a fun concept. I borrowed a bike and helmet and went for a ride on the scioto river and around downtown, beautiful, especially around sunset. The staff were lovely, kind and very helpful.

Yelp
The Junto has officially become our benchmark for what a great hotel experience should feel like. We came back for a two night stay over my birthday in early November and somehow it raised the bar again. This place does more than hand you a room key. It creates a whole little world you actually want to live in for a few days. The lobby feels like an enormous, stylish living room... warm lighting, a fire going, comfortable seating clusters, art on the walls, and people actually hanging out instead of just passing through. Mornings start at Maudine's, the in-house coffee shop and bakery off the main floor. Great espresso drinks, genuinely good pastries, and just enough personality to make it feel like a real neighborhood spot rather than a hotel afterthought. We grabbed coffee there both mornings and it set the tone for the day. During this stay we leaned hard into the food and drink options on property. Lunch and happy hour in the lower bar were excellent... well made cocktails, shareable plates, and staff who are actually present and tuned in. Later at night we headed up to Brass Eye for a nightcap. It has that perfect rooftop energy. Big views of the city, great music volume, and a "we're happy you're here" vibe instead of a scene you have to work to impress. The suite we stay in with the oversized tub feels like it was designed specifically for us. Spacious, modern, and romantic without trying too hard. The tub is huge. The shower is generous. The bed is incredibly comfortable. There are plugs where you actually need them. The window seating area is perfect for reading, talking, or just watching the city hum outside. It is one of those rare hotel rooms that makes you want to stay in as much as you go out. What really keeps us coming back though is the way we are treated. Every interaction, from the door staff to the front desk to housekeeping, feels grounded and human. Not scripted. Not fake. Just people who seem genuinely invested in making your stay great. On a birthday trip, that kind of care lands even harder. Each visit ends up feeling more magical than the last. The Junto is stylish without being cold, polished without being stiff, and thoughtful in all the right ways. If you are coming to Columbus and want a hotel that delivers on design, food, drinks, and real hospitality... stay here. This is the one.

Yelp
The Junto might just be the main character of Columbus hotels. From the second we walked in, the vibes were immaculate: modern, open-concept, and just hip enough that I briefly considered buying new glasses to fit in. Check-in: Blink and you'll miss it. So fast we wondered if we skipped a step. Room: Spotless. Like, "has anyone ever even stayed here before?" clean. Staff: MVPs. We asked for ice and it was hand-delivered like it was room service for royalty. Valet: Friendly, fast, and somehow made me feel like I drive a luxury car (spoiler: I don't). There was a wedding going on, so it was lively -- but in a fun way, like being an extra in someone else's rom-com. It added a little buzz, not chaos. Dog policy? Yes, they welcome furry friends with open paws. The $100 dog fee stung a little, but honestly, if that's what keeps the place smelling like eucalyptus instead of wet Labrador, I'll allow it. Love the little touches too: * A fancy water bottle filling station right out front (hydration is sexy) * Open bar-style lounge that practically begs you to order a cocktail and write a novel * Steps from a beautiful park and tons of walkable areas * Surrounded by gorgeous buildings and genuinely kind people (Ohio, you charming thing, you) Final verdict? Five stars, easy. If The Junto was a person, we'd totally be friends -- or at least wish we were.

Yelp
My review is in reference to the holiday pop-up "Santa baby "bar @ The Junto. I had never been to something like this and was really excited to give it a try while my daughter was visiting for the holidays last week. It was a complete letdown. Awkward, uncomfortable, crowded seating. My daughter ordered an espresso martini and it came in a large glass coffee cup, but wasn't cold or warm just room temperature. The glass was only half full and very expensive. We also ordered a dessert platter called "The naughty list" which was also very underwhelming. The chocolate cake tasted like it was freezer, burnt and way overpriced at $20 for something they unpackaged and put on a plate.

Yelp
Great place, food was wonderful, everything is cooked fresh, they do not even have a microwave. The potato chips are special and could be eaten all day. Service was wonderful for 3 days straight. Nice bar area that opens up outside as well.

Yelp
Looks can be deceiving!! Stayed here for a work event and several of my make up items were stolen. I reported it to the front desk. They never got back to me, I asked them not to re-enter my room and they did when I was away. I set up an identifier to see if someone would go through my things again. Whoever entered my room, unzipped a pouch I specifically zipped to be sure. This hotel seems to have an issue with thieves!

Yelp
Love the ambiance, communal space, spaciousness of the rooms (I absolutely love the exposed masonry floors). For some reason the gym also really appealed to me. It was just the right size with a great variety of free weights, machines and cardio to make sure you can hit it and quit it in a timely fashion. Breakfast was a terrific experience downstairs and Summer at the front desk is an absolute ambassador of their brand. Exceeding comfortable stay and I'm looking forward to next time!

Yelp
We tend to come here when our dog wants an adventure. I know thats weird but this hotel is extremely dog friendly and I havent been inside it without seeing a someone else with a dog. The lobby is extremely comfortable. Lots of sofa vignettes and two or three longe work tables should you need to work on your laptop. The lobby has a full bar in the lobby as well as access to the restaurant "Little West Tavern". which also has a great bar and menu (a bit pricey but delicious). There is a roof top bar as well. Should you stay overnight... they have a section where you can borrow almost anything you can think of.... If I remember correctly they have bikes and maybe even a kayak. Its really a great lifestyle type of boutique hotel.

Yelp
This hotel is beautiful, but my experience was frustrating from start to finish. First, they charged me a credit card recovery fee that was quite costly. Yes, it was technically in the contract--but it was buried in the fine print so you wouldn't notice it. I've stayed at many hotels and have never once been charged this type of fee. To make matters worse, it wasn't even shown on my receipt; I only found out after the fact. On top of that, we were not given the upgraded room we were promised. After one night, the staff told us we could repack all of our things, move, and unpack again to get into the room we had reserved from the beginning. That is completely unreasonable--especially since it was their fault for overbooking. At the very least, they should have offered a discount for their mistake, but they didn't. We also paid extra for a special meeting room, which should have been ready for us, but instead we had to go to the front desk and demand access to the room we had already arranged and paid for. This hotel might look nice, but between the hidden costs, misleading practices, and lack of accountability, I would never stay here again--even if it was free. Columbus has many beautiful hotels--do yourself a favor and pick another one.

Yelp
I recently stayed a night in Columbus at Junto I needed a place that could easily secure my bikes. They offered secure parking in a parking garage. Upon walking in I noticed the hotel had a very modern and warm feel to it. The lobby was hopping on a Saturday night. With a bar, restaurant, and a cafe. The room was very spacious along with the bathroom. Our room was clean and the bed was very comfortable and got a great night of sleep. I highly recommend staying here and will go back when I go to Columbus again. The one fault is they didn't have any luggage carts when checking out. If I had to suggest something it would be to get more luggage carts other than that it was a great stay.

Yelp
Great atmosphere & fun vibe! Bar area in lobby is lovely & rooftop bar is fantastic on a nice day. Will stay again.

Yelp
I'm not in the habit of leaving 5 star reviews but the staff here is amazing. We booked a room for Red,white and boom. It was the Artists flat and there was a separate sitting room with big picture windows in both rooms overlooking the fireworks. The staff with a special shoutout to Anthony, Cody and Julia were friendly, professional and helpful. This is probably one of their busiest days because of the fireworks but no one seemed hurried or annoyed. We didn't eat here but look forward to coming back. Pictures are worth 1000 words!

Yelp
DANGEROUS FOR WOMEN Last night at Junto Hotel in Columbus, my friend and I experienced one of the scariest situations I've ever been in. We called the elevator, and two men were already inside. They were going to floor 8 asked what floor we were going to and then pressed 5 themselves. Neither of them used a key card to scan the elevator- which the elevators are supposed to be equipped with. One of the men then said to the other "Actually, I'm getting off on 5," and the other said, "I'll hold the hotel room open for you." When the doors opened at 5, we refused to get off. One man stepped out, while the second insisted, "This is your floor," we said we're going to 7 and then watched him pull out his phone, opened his messages, and began typing. We got off at 7 while he continued up. My friend suggested the stairs, fearing they were coordinating via text, I worried one of them might be waiting. Moments later, the SAME elevator we had just been on came back down immediately and a man exited and started walking the floor. We hid pressed up to another elevator, called 911, and hid while we heard someone walking around our floor. When I called 911, the dispatcher told me I had to speak louder although I was pleaing " I am in danger I am at the Junto Hotel they are looking for me and I'm hiding" 911 asked why I didn't call the front desk multiple times as I'm still hiding while the man is walking around the floor. I do not know the front desks number but I know how to call 911 An elevator finally came and thank god the second man was not in it. We closed the door as quick as possible went to the front desk who was very rude and dismissive. A couple minutes later the police came. Police and, staff moved us to another room--only one floor away from where this happened. The front desk was dismissive, minimizing what we went through. When the police arrived, I told them the entire story, assuming they were taking a report. They escorted us to the new room and then left. I told the police and hotel staff I did not feel safe staying there and when I asked if they were just leaving, they said no--they were going downstairs to get information on the suspects. But just a couple minutes later, the front desk called to ask if I was okay (I was not) and told me the police had already left. That's when I realized no official report had been filed. The officers never asked for my ID or phone number. My friend called family to pick us up and we got out of that hotel immediately. Even though there was no imminent threat there was no attempt to locate these men, no one looked at the video cameras. Nothing. I didn't even get an email from management until I reached out to them. And they apologized that I felt "uncomfortable" The most alarming part: this elevator at Junto did not require key card access, (when the others do) meaning anyone could go directly to the guest floors and wander freely. This is a major safety risk and should never happen in a hotel. I did not feel safe, I was not treated with urgency or empathy, and I will never stay here again.

Yelp
A pricey hotel, but a gorgeous one, with a beautiful room that's matched only by the fantastic service. It helps that parking is nearby, and you have a full coffeeshop, rooftop bar, lobby bar, and restaurant built right into the Junto itself. Just expect all of that luxury treatment to cost accordingly. PROS: -I'm in LOVE with these window-side couch/benches. They're extra-wide, really comfy, and give you extra seating without taking up floor space. I loved curling up against the window and reading a book while looking outside at the wintery Columbus downtown views. -Staff was beyond helpful. We didn't get the most stellar service at the rooftop bar, but the hotel staff themselves were jumping through hoops to try to help and make our stay amazing. -The Junto "Gear Garage". If you're staying the night, you can borrow anything from their outdoor gear including bikes, outdoor picnic games, skatebords, a kayak, scooters, and more. It's pretty much an outdoor person's dream. -You're walkable to Downtown. You are "technically" walkable, with nice weather, to most of the Short North, but there's an area between here and the Short North that I wouldn't be comfortable walking in at night. If you're here for the convention center, it's walkable (same night walking issue), but I think most people would prefer a rideshare at that distance. -Lots of parking options around the Junto. They have valet, but there are two parking garages less than a block away. Valet was super friendly, though. -Across the street from COSI. COSI's front lights and area don't turn off at night, but the rooms have blackout blinds that will block out the street lights for you. If you want to go to COSI, Junto is (literally) closer than the parking garage for COSI. -If you have kids or pets, there's a large playground and greenspace in front of COSI - which happens to also be in front of the Junto. CONS: -What in the world is up with the lobby at the Junto? I have never seen this many people in a hotel lobby in my life at all hours of the day. It looks like a lot of people use the Junto's lobby as an extension of the Maurine's coffeeshop, and there are tons of people studying and on business calls in the hotel lobby. This gives the lobby a ton of "life", but it also made it difficult to actually find a place to sit in the lobby to wait for cars.

Yelp
We used The Junto Hotel as our home base for a date day/night in Franklinton. It was our first time staying here and it was a really nice experience. Keep in mind this is not in downtown proper, but across the bridge on Broad Street, which makes it walkable to Franklinton, the veterans memorial, and COSI, but it is a little bit longer walk into town depending on where you're going. The Broad Street bridge and the rich Street bridges crossover into two different parts of downtown that makes it easy to navigate by foot or bike. The king suite was spacious and modern with nice amenities like refillable water bottles, Bodum pour-over style coffee makers, nifty lighting, and a cool window bench overlooking the patio and green space. It was a comfortable room, but we quite enjoyed the public spaces too. The hotels public spaces are warm and communal (if you want to be). There is a nice outdoor patio with a wood burning fireplace and indoor work stations. The Gear Garage is a great way to get interactive with the neighborhood and city, as you can rent complimentary bikes, scooters, kayaks, and all sorts of other fun games and cameras. For late-night nosh, the Poutine Window is open Thu-Sun 6-10p.

Yelp
This hotel was super clean, felt nice, and I loved the decor. I LOVED the coffee shop. Sadly I was absolutely not safe here. There was unsettling activity including a strange man asking me to use my room key to get him up the elevator and two strangers(men) knocking on my room door claiming to be housekeeping, at 8 pm when I had not requested housekeeping. The front desk did not care at all when I expressed my fears. In fact they didn't seem surprised and did not want to listen to me. I left without sleeping there and got a hotel near by for the night. Absolutely would not recommend if you value your personal safety.

Tyler R.

Yelp
Really bad service and the manager was beyond rude. Food was not good. Drinks tasted like they came from an outhouse. Would not recommend.

Yelp
The Junto is a great! Staff is really nice especially Drew at the front desk! I stayed for a few days and he remembered me every time I walked by the front desk! Makes a big difference when someone remembers your name or little things. One of my fav things about this hotel is that each room has a tea pot in the room for hot water or drip coffee. They also have a water station downstairs in the lobby before the elevators so that you can refill your own bottle or use one of the complimentary ones in the room. They also provide a complimentary snack in the room. Breakfast is terrific. The coffee shop inside the hotel has phenomenal iced lattes. They have several kinds of non-dairy milk which I appreciate. I had a cashew milk iced latte with their seasonal French toast flavor. Overall really great experience.

Yelp
What a cute place! I decided to surprise my wife for valentines with a little getaway at The Junto! The aesthetics are honestly what got me. You walk in and immediately feel like you're at an all inclusive resort. There is a huge fireplace with plenty of seating, multiple bars, a coffee shop, and a few restaurants. I decided to book the executive room specifically for the huge bathtub that comes with it! We unfortunately ran into an issue with the tub and had to have maintenance come take a look at it after already being there a few hours. The stopper appeared to be broken and wouldn't seal correctly. I called down to the front desk and they quickly had someone come up. He confirmed that it was broken, but said that he was able to seal it so that we could use it and said "don't worry if you aren't able to drain it before you leave". We figured that it was okay to use, but ran into the same issue again. It wouldn't create a seal and continued to drain. We decided that we just wanted to enjoy our night and decided to use the other amenities at The Junto. Definitely check out their restaurants if you are there. They are very cute and relaxed and have AMAZING drinks! I definitely recommend getting a hotel room and making an evening out of the experience. I wish we would have had a better experience with the bathtub and customer service, but will definitely give it another try soon (maybe without the tub!)

Yelp
Wonderful get away! So many pros... To start, the staff are so kind, attentive, professional, and communicate very well. The location is great and easy to get to. The COSI museum is across the road. The veterans museum is a short walk away. The decor is warm, cozy and inviting. There are books, sunken chairs, work stations, and nooks everywhere inside. Outside, beautiful terraces with added heating on the chilly evenings to sit and enjoy a beverage. The rooms are well appointed, clean, roomy, and feel almost soundproof due to really good insulation. The beds are super comfortable with plenty of pillows and soft bedding. The rooms offer two sets of blinds on the windows: room darkening and a sheer blind, so either preference is accommodated. There is a large well cushioned window seat slightly smaller than a twin bed, with plenty of side pillows. The food... superb! My compliments to the chef and wait staff! Flavorful with good portions and attractive presentation. The bartenders are top notch and quite personable, as are the waitstaff. Management are very hands on and approachable. We found Cody and Anthony to be fully involved with our experience as guests and dedicated to ensuring all needs were met and our stay was top notch. Highly recommend!!!

Yelp
Love the vibe such a cool place to come and chill, grab some coffee and get some work done. This feels like a west village New York.

Yelp
We went to the hotel lobby for a drink and atmosphere! It was really cool to sit inside by the fire. Would love to come back to see the rooms and try more drinks at the bar! They also do have valet service and the hotel is right next to COSI.

Yelp
Usually, I do my reviews after my trip is completed, but I'm enjoying myself so much that I'm still laying in bed at the Junto while writing this! I can't say enough amazing things about this hotel. The bed is comfortable. The room is so unique and modern with a boutique feel. I really loved the window seat And a view of the city. The lobby is absolutely gorgeous and so relaxing and of course, with four different bars/restaurants to choose from, you really don't need to leave the hotel for anything. but if you decide to cosign museum is right across the street and you are fairly close to downtown and not too far of a drive from other areas around the city. The staff was absolutely amazing and so accommodating. I did have dinner at the hotel restaurant and had late night drinks with a friend at the rooftop bar, Brass Eye. The drinks were so strong and so yummy and moderately priced. Overall, I really enjoyed my quick weekend getaway, and I definitely will be back!!

Yelp
Spent 3 nights here for a work trip and really enjoyed my stay. The hotel has great food, one of the best old fashions I've had and a very relaxing lobby with coffee, a fire place, and is a great place to read or work.

Yelp
What a cool place. We loved our time here. We were celebrating our 20th anniversary and Sean at the front desk helped us out when booking. He was very pleasant and accommodating. Excellent service. The hotel was amazing. Cool double shower. Amazing view of downtown. The Brass Eye roof top bar was tremendous. All of it was so good. Thanks for making our anniversary so special with your beautiful facility.

Yelp
This hotel has everything you could want. The vibe, the cleanliness, the food and drink options. It's beautiful.

Yelp
Stayed at the Junto while on travel for work, the atmosphere was pretty nice! The rooftop bar was nice & very spacious indoor & outdoor seating! And the cafe across from the lobby was super cute & quaint! Next time I'm on travel I would consider staying here again!

Yelp
I've been to junto several times and every time it's great. Today I went and for the first time I had a coffee. My only complaint was that the line and wait was very long. Over 25 mins.

Yelp
Mega trendy hotel with an awesome vibe- not what I expected in Columbus to be honest but wow. Great service, incredible rooms, and awesome toiletries, and other amenities.

Yelp
I truly enjoyed my stay here. It was comfortable and cozy, and I enjoyed my view of COSI from my window seat. I appreciated all the warm touches in the lobby area with spaces to work and eat in comfort. The amenities in room and throughout the hotel made this a top tier experience. Highly recommend and am looking for an excuse to return!

Yelp
We flew into Columbus for a family affair and turned it into a mini vacation staying at the Junto. We were pleasantly surprised and impressed by the quality of this new boutique hotel. The location was very convenient to other venues, the ambiance of our room was excellent, restaurants were great and Jason Delcamp (managing director) and the entire staff were extremely helpful and efficient. They even managed to turn a late night smoke alarm malfunction into a friendly get together and provided complimentary coffee and compted that night's fee. We'll definitely stay there again during our next visit .

We visited this restaurant when it first opened and then again, last night, about a year later. Our first visit was terrible, with awful food and bad service, but we noticed that the reviews were improving and had heard good things so we decided to give it a second try. Pros: Food is much improved. We loved every dish we had, including the quail special, bone marrow app, loaded fries, and more. The ambiance is wonderful. The restaurant, lobby and upstairs bar are all beautiful. Cons: Service was terrible. At the Brass Eye (upstairs bar), r bartenders stood at the bar chatting, completely ignoring us when we sat down. We had to flag them down for service. Once we were served, the bartender served us our second drinks while ignoring two women seated next to us waving a credit card. My husband had to ask the bartender to serve them. At the restaurant table, service was inconsistent. The server was forgetful and flighty. Service items like plates and cutlery were brought out at different times. Someone else's food was set at our table and we had to point out that it wasn't ours. We shared our dinners, and the meals were brought but we had to wait for plates. At the end of the meal, the after dinner drinks took about ten minutes to be brought to the table. The dessert took ages, and we nearly cancelled the order it was taking so long but was finally delivered after an interminable wait. We had to ask for the check. I think this restaurant has potential but has a ways to go in regard to its service.

Yelp
The Junto is leading Ohio toward unique, quirky and memorable experiences. The styling is a mix of hip NY and comfortable mid-west. The attitude of service reminds me of the Ritz -"relaxed yet refined". The amenities of this indie/boutique/lifestyle (i.e., one-off, not connected with a chain) are impressive: 3 distinct bars including an enclosed rooftop; two restaurants plus a walk-up Poutine Window; AMAZING cafe with an insane range of house-made alternative milks and syrups; "gear garage" (rent bikes, backyard games, etc.); and an event space that seems to always have something going on. Be sure to try the Tomahawk steak, the Ceviche (I know, ceviche in OHIO??), and the Nueske's Bacon Caesar in the Little West Tavern. As for beverages, I particularly love the decadent cocktail "Mr. Dexter" and the "Gene & Roy" which I can best describe as a dirty-spicy-margarita-martini that HAS to be tried to truly understand. The Traderoom is a great place for locals and guests to hang out, have coffee or cocktails & light-bites, host Monday/Tuesday morning business meetings, and socialize. As a local, myself, I see this space as an extension of my own living room. Don't miss the rooftop bar, Brass Eye, either! It has, hands down, the best city skyline views in Columbus, including the riverfront. Tapas-style menu, super-creative beverage program, and an attitude that doesn't take itself too seriously keep me coming back.

Yelp
I was looking forward to the visit as Columbus needs a good high-end hotel. This is not the place. Paid $300 dollars for a room that barely handled a king bed. The room was no larger than 10 by 14. One uncomfortable chair and a small 24-inch pedestal table. The Bed was comfortable and the bath was adequate with only a shower. A half closet was in the hallway (shared the door with the bath. We went to the rooftop bar for drinks and appetizers. Told we needed to self-serve and order at the bar. Unclear way as they had some wait staff.. Service was OK - prices were on the high end. The final straw was at check out We were charged $20 for a "destination charge"! Front desk employees could not explain what value we received for this charge. I understand in high-end resort locations have a "resort fee" where you enjoy a pool/beach, lovely walking grounds, concierge service, etc. None of this at the Junto! Additionally, we were charged $13.00 Credit Card Recovery Fee! I can somewhat understand this practice for businesses/nonprofits that are not dependent on CCs but for a hotel to charge this is inappropriate. Again the staff was not prepared to defend and were arrogant in attitude. I provided this feedback in writing directly to hotel last week. I wanted to hear from them prior to this post. Not a word from management! I travel all over the US and the world. This hotel does not pratice "hospitality" or give you value for cost. Will be curious how others feel?

Yelp
Fabulous solar eclipse adventure in Columbus, OH. Last minute reservation at this swanky hotel, located directly across from the COSI museum. Free tickets into this museum included with our reservation. We thought we'd poke around, but ended up exploring for hours. Also, had lots of fun with a retro Polaroid camera from their 'gear garage'. Nearby river walk was amazing too. Lots of cool sculptures, fun time exploring the city while geocaching, counting fish... Excellent hotel with black out shades, fluffy towels, tasty water, and complimentary snacks. Visited the roof top bar our first night sharing bartender recommended plates, all delicious. Beyond bar food. Cool outdoor patio with fireplaces, loads of wood, and other cozy meetup nooks. Fun bathroom sound track too... what's your favorite color? Juice coffee bar to gets you going. Lobby, internet, book shelf hangout gathering areas are most excellent too. Loved the sparkling and still water dispenser, and fruit to grab and go. So glad our Crystal Lake, Ontario, CAN airBnB cabin near cloudy Buffalo, NY was cancelled! A most excellent Ohio exploration, including Hopewell Indian Mounds, and the highest point in Bellefontaine, OH, for spectacular 360 'sunset' during totality.

Yelp
Unfortunately our first time will be our last. Not only service was subpar in terms of efficiency as well costumer service but the price of the drinks were also higher due to hotel and resort tax. We ordered two cocktails and they had "ran out", at 10 pm. When asked about what could be do to remedy the situation with the manager, all we got was "so sorry". Also they ran out of paper for the printer which added to the inefficiency and they attempted to overcharge us for their special of 2 beers at discounted price as advertised in their menu. All in all a disappointment experience. We rarely write negative reviews but we want to warn others about the potential for a disappointing evening.

Yelp
This hotel is absolutely stunning! It's brand new to Columbus and just what the city needed! The location couldn't be more perfect. It's right across from Cosi and has the best views of the Scioto River. We were excited to check it out and it didn't disappoint. The rooms are so beautiful and the bench seating near the window is so great! It's the size of a twin so someone could totally sleep there. Upon arrival we were blown away by their trade room and couldn't wait to have a cocktail. There's a fun library where I sat and worked for a bit. I can't wait to return!

Yelp
This rating on the restaurant, not hotel as we didn't stay there. They just opened the restaurant and bar 8 days ago so they have a learning curve. But they more than made up for it. We had the house salad and burger and steak fries. My girlfriend got a Cosmo that she really liked. I drink beer and well beer is good... The salad came first and it was good. Then the fries. Which was a bit odd because we ordered them all to come together. Finally the burger arrived. We had ordered it medium well. I cut it in half to give my girlfriend the other half and it was medium rare. Which I am fine with but she not so much. I eat my half and the waiter comes over and tell him of the mistake. He runs back and 5 minutes later we have a whole new entree, burger and fries. With out asking ,when the bill comes they comped us the burger and fries. Which now brings me to the burger. Wow this is an amazing burger! Like holy sh!t this a great burger. They are still figuring things out but we will be back soon.

Yelp
To be up front, we did not stay here. We are originally from central Ohio and made a last minute decision to head there from Cincinnati for a weekend get away. We were really interested in checking out this new hotel. We looked in line, the rate was $250/night. Quite a bit more than the rate at the other big name nice hotels near downtown and the short north. We thought we'll maybe we'll check it out still. As we went through the booking process, we discovered sure, $250/night x2 nights isn't bad, but at the end of the booking section the price sky rocketed to $750 total. We don't know why or how these rooms have $125/night in taxes and fees. We called, spoke with someone discovered they were not booked solid, and whoever the person was that answered the phone, was asked about the fees and a possible last minute booking at a reduced rate from the $250. It was even explained with the fees & taxes there is just no way it is worth vs Levique, Marriot, Hilton or the others. We were placed on a hold, and a short time later advised that was the lowest price they could provide. Doesn't make sense to me why the taxes & fees are so much for this hotel compared to others. I also would think declining to provide a lower rate at 6-630p on the day the person wants to checkin when you aren't full seems silly. I can tell you. It will prevent me from recommending this location to anyone or staying here in the future. I wish this place the best of luck, but I just have a hard time seeing them make in the Columbus market with this business model.

Yelp
Love this brand new hotel! Beautiful rooms and so close to COSI. Easy to Uber to airport and downtown Columbus.
