The Kahala Hotel & Resort Yokohama (Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"It’s not every day you see a Hawaiian hotel open an outpost in Japan, but that’s exactly what lies inside the gently curving façade of this blue glass tower. The Kahala Hotel & Resort commits to the theme, dressing its reception staff in leis and using Hawaiian materials and techniques in the spa. But it never lapses into Vegas-style kitsch; this is ultimately a stylish and contemporary luxury hotel with a personality that sets it apart from its neighbors. Food and beverage outlets include a Hawaiian buffet but also a pair of Japanese venues and a glamorous 14th-floor Italian restaurant." - Tablet Hotels

The service was great from the moment we walked into the hotel. The food at the lounge was probably some of the best hotel lounge food I've had and not too expensive for a hotel lounge. The seasonal pear cocktails and regular specialty cocktails were delicious too. The breakfast buffet had a lot of options and it was all good. As I've lived in Japan for 12 years, I knew their pool probably wouldn't allow tattoos so I brought my long sleeve and pant bathing suit with me and it was fine. I was a bit surprise you had to pay to use the pool and the hot tub but you can use it as many times as you want and for as long as you want if you pay once for your whole stay. Just be warned, no tattoos, as many tourists fine this surprising. There was a 7/11 right across the street and it's about a 10 minute walk from Minato mirai station. There's no much to do around the hotel but that's exactly what we wanted as a staycation, a quiet area, and if you're paying to stay at a resort why not take advantage of it? The gift shop has some cute souvenirs that were not badly priced also, and then amenities in the rooms themselves were great. One of the best beds I've had at a hotel in japan. Nice mattress and no weird bead filled pillow like at a lot of the hotels here.

An absolutely beautiful hotel. Up there with other luxury 5 star hotels. From a value standpoint this deserves 6 stars. The service was fantastic the staff were professonal and always available to help. They have one of the best breakfasts in Yokohama hands down, with private dining rooms. This is truely a gem of a hotel and anyone coming to Yokohama should stay to experience it. I look forward to my next stay, thank you for the incredible service!

Let me start by saying I wouldn't consider this a resort in the conventional sense, the hotel for me its one if not the pinnacle of luxury in yokohama ive tried all the majors hotels in yokohama and no one gives the vibe that this gave me, for starters the location I will say is not the best as everything tends to be too far away to care almost everything is a 10 to 20 minute walk now this was the only issue I had with this hotel , for the magnitude of the brand name the hotel I will say stays on the smaller side of capacity and I like that, just a few floors of rooms and always kind of empty, aside from that I was escorted to the lobby and into the lounge since I arrived 1 hour before my check in and I enjoy the views, the music and the vibe, they totally nailed the Hawaiian vibes, lounge prices are no that expensive but you need to consider where you are when talking about pricing, I reserved a bay view room for approx ¥60,000 yen per night and this included a ¥5,000 voucher for consumption inside the hotel, the rooms are super big 40m2-50m2 i think, the decor is kind of abstract but adds to the charm of this hotel, for me the real highlight of the room was the bathroom,TV on the mirror,2 sinks, gigant bath tub the next to it you have a private closet and they also have turndown service which is greatly appreciated by me, I find the restaurants not that amazing for me the real deal is going in to the lounge at night and enjoy a whisky while the have live performances. I will stay again in the near future . If your planning on a long term stay I advise you to call or email the hotel becouse I always have trouble booking for to many nights.

We stayed there last night and very impressed by the services. My wife really enjoyed Ms. 柴崎 奈央子 and the lady who served the breakfast for us. Ms. 奈央子 was very patient and smile all the time even while she was helping other people at the same time. They deserve the raise!!

This is a beautiful hotel and the service was outstanding 99.99 percent of the time. If you book via amex, the included breakfast was amazing. However, we did not receive the room upgrade as usual with Amex fine resort booking at this hotel. This was actually the first time I didn't get an room upgrade as usual. The only person we had some issues with was the gentleman at the first floor door man who would not help us to hail a taxi. I thought that was really strange.

10/10 service I know it should be 5 but this is way more than a 5 star hotel! Food and service was great, English was spoken very well and everyone seemed to be included as a community. Don’t get me started on the rooms. Would recommend to anyone and everyone WOW!

If you need exceptional barista coffee, came here everyday to have cafe latte whilst sitting at the bar on the 14th floor; where they hold outstanding seasonal afternoon “high” tea.

I was excited to stay until I find out that not only tattoos not allowed, but they will make you feel like a criminal if you have them. It’s 2025, and a resort that claims to be 5 stars needs to get with the times. There are so many better spots to stay with better rules.
