The Karol Hotel, St. Petersburg Clearwater, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel

I had the pleasure of doing hair and makeup for a wedding here, and it was such a memorable experience. The staff is always so helpful and goes above and beyond to help me with my kit. It made the whole morning feel relaxed and special, which is exactly what every bride deserves. So grateful to have been part of such a lovely day in such a stunning space. Definitely one of my favorite venues to work at!

Spent two nights here on a business trip. The hotel is clean and the staff is welcoming and professional. My room, a single king, was quite spacious and well appointed. The bathroom was also quite large. My room was serviced daily. A colleague had a room on the third floor and could here the bar music on one night, but my room was quiet and I didn't even hear my neighbors.

My husband and I were recently invited out to try The Karol’s onsite restaurant, Katch Bistro, and it made for a great date night. The martinis were excellent, the Brussels sprouts appetizer was a standout, and the fish and chips were perfectly crispy and flaky. They were served with a zesty tartar sauce that paired well with the entree. On top of that, the service was top-notch. We’ll definitely be back!

Karol Hotel has been a favorite weekend getaway spot for last 3 years! Our stay this past weekend was another excellent experience.|The entire staff is so courteous and professional. And the attention to every detail that makes it so special. |Wr were unexpectedly surprised when soon after check in a Happy Birthday card with vouchers for breakfast were slipped under our door. We are Marriott members but did not mention husband’s upcoming birthday. How they could have been aware? I have no idea but isn’t that what makes a special place remarkable?|The breakfast/brunch each morning in the Bistro downstairs was so delicious. A huge shout out to the server Renee who we were fortunate to have both mornings. Despite the place being busy she provided excellent service and was most personable.|We also had drinks and appetizers on Friday night in the Elite club downstairs. I don’t recall the bartender’s name but he did a great job, as well. We were sitting over in the back area and when he began to get busy at the bar he had a female staff member come in a couple of times to check on us. That was another example of such attention to detail. |In summary, I will share what makes this a great place to stay. Gracious staff. Lovely, quiet rooms. I find their beds to be very comfortable and love their linens.|Bascams, which is owned by the same couple, is right down the street. They serve excellent food.

Very nice hotel. The decor is really pleasant throughout. The staff are attentive, respectful and courteous. The rooms are clean and overall comfortable. I would say my favorite part was the ambiance and view from their bar. It overlooks the city amd has an open balcony area with a very nice view.

I absolutely love love love love this hotel. From the moment we walked in to the last day of our visit. Nothing but impeccable service, professionalism, friendliness. From the food to being greeted at the door with champagne to the rooftop bar, just everything. The bartenders, the music, the front desk supervisor and staff. Everyone was awesome. I will be back. Thank you again for a wonderful visit. It truly is a beautiful hotel.

Even before we arrived Nicole was awesome, then when we arrived we were treated like royalty. Nicole really helped us out. The property was amazingly beautiful. The brunch was tremendous and the roof top bar was outstanding. Jared at the bar was helpful and Brooklynie in the restraunt was fantastic. Hope to be back soon! 10 stars if i could!

We went to The Karol this past Saturday for the 50th Anniversary showing of The Rocky Horror Picture Show, and it was such a great experience. The event was really well organized. They handed out prop bags for us to use during the show and even had festive treats for the occasion. The staff were wonderful and made everything feel special. Our family had a lovely time. We would definitely love to return for future events! Just to add, we’ve stayed at The Karol before, and it truly is a beautiful hotel.

Katch Bistro at Karon Hotel FIVE Stars! A wonderful hidden gem. Our dinner was perfect! A delicious meal, wonderful service (thank you Garrett) and the chef is an artist (thank you Lat). Beautifully appointed dining area; no loud blaring music; clean accessible restroom; and the food is world class. The Brussel Sprouts were my favorite. Treat yourself and take yourself and family to a wonderful dinner here.

Modern, clean hotel. Service seems improved in their restaurants, but still slow even when not busy. PEI Mussels and Cioppino were good. Sadly, the ahi tuna app was literally tasteless and some of the greens underneath were wilted/bad. But more good - staff was friendly enough. Noticeably very clean in the restaurant areas, walkways, bathroom, throughout hotel. Wipe down the salt and pepper shakers though. This place is advertised and priced as a five star hotel. Earn it.

A very nice hotel that I am glad to have randomly stumbled upon because I couldn't find any other decent hotels in the area. I recently stayed here for a concert at the Tampa Bay Stadium and let me say right from entering, the entire place was amazing! I will say I want to knock off a star because I did request room service as well as a couple things for extra items in my room and it never arrived as well as a only getting one drink voucher instead of two when I booked a special that included two drinks during my stay, but the positives outweighed the negatives on this trip!!! The rooms are insanely clean and actually have a Nespresso machine in them! I will also say that the Nespresso machine was incredibly loud and I almost woke up my brother who is in the room with me for my stay. The room was very nicely lit and I loved how incredibly spacious the shower and bathroom was. The staff checking Us in was very attentive and quick with getting us squared away and even gave us some free water and they had free sparkling champagne on the counter as well! The bar on the roof was beautiful, the drink prices were very reasonable and the bartender that was working there was a very friendly even telling us to leave earlier than we were expecting so we can make it across the bridge without getting stuck in ridiculous traffic. Overall a phenomenal hotel, nicely lit and very clean and a nice amount of parking! Reasonable price for a Friday night as well! I will definitely be staying here again when I am in the area for a concert.

This is a very cool old Hotel. We have business meetings here frequently. It's one of our favorite places to have meetings. However, the food is terrible here. The Bar is great. The Kitchen is horrible. Attention Management: Please do something to make the food better here. We would really appreciate it & it would make it a five star experience. We love the hotel, the hotel staff & bar, however the food here is just terrible. We look forward to seeing improvements in the food & coffee service. Will return to update.

This was a very nice hotel. That offered free parking. Which was a plus. There's also a Starbucks next door. Another bonus for the Starbucks lovers. Now, as much as I loved staying here for seven days. I had a few concerns. Not that it was necessarily bad, but it was a bit disappointing. They really should offer more healthy options for breakfast. They don't even put on the menu that they have egg whites. I had to ask. I eat healthy for breakfast, and the options are very limited. They do offer perks upon check-in. Free glass of champagne. I also feel you shouldn't be charged for drinking the regular bottled water that was in the room. I was told that you had to pick it up from the front desk not to be charged. That was inconvenient. Especially if I'm already in my room. Housekeeping came by daily. Even if you didn't request it. So the room stayed clean unless I declined it. All the staff were very nice. Our views from the room were amazing as well. They offered a mini fridge. No microwave. Overall, it was a nice hotel with a restaurant inside. They also have a rooftop bar. Didn't get a chance to check out the pool. We had a busy schedule. I do recommend this hotel. Just wish they would extend the breakfast menu to consider more healthier options.

Our group planned a Christmas party We were told we would have a private room. Instead we were seated in a sports bar. Very loud hard to hear conversations and not able to sit together. Service was great but manager was called to straighten out drinks being billed to our host. $50.00 for the evening. Very disappointed

This is a gorgeous new hotel. The atmosphere is white and bright, the service is phenomenal, and the rooms and food are fantastic. It will cost you-but it's worth it!

Beautiful hotel in a very convenient location. The area is nice and has a lot of experiences. The property is well kept, very clean and fancy looking as most of the Tribute Hotels. There are lots of picture opportunities around the property. We had an amazing one bedroom suite. I would like to thank Valentyna who checked us in and given us all the tips around the hotel and area, as well as Connery who helped us at the bar. It's a beautiful open roof top bar with an amazing view and delicious cocktails and my favorite flourless chocolate tort dessert Everyone from the staff crew was exceptionally courteous helpful and friendly. The customer service which is not so common these days is definitely at the high level at the Karol Tribute hotel. We are definitely coming back!

I have a toy poodle that is being trained to be my service dog currently it is listed as emotional support and they will not accept pets so he's not a pet. He's emotional support being trained for service which means ADA compliance. They're supposed to accept you have handicap accessible rooms, which means you're gonna have people who come in with service animals, be more aware

Recently stayed at the Karol and definitely would return. The interior was very modern and clean. I absolutely loved the marble bathrooms. They were super accommodating traveling with a baby and offered a full rollaway crib. They have a stocked bar available for purchase with snacks and drinks and shockingly the prices were ok. The only thing I didn't like was breakfast for two from room service was almost 90 dollars. Just seemed a little crazy for two orders of pancakes and juice .. other than that it was a great stay and I would return but definitely not ordering room service

Pretty surprised how good this was. The food is really on point, but the menu is limited. I get it, it's a hotel restaurant. But the place is gorgeous inside. Rooftop bar! Really a nice place. The grouper is the . Check 'em out!

Just finished a 3 day stay here. An unusually nice hotel. Beautiful inside and out.. definitely not your run of the mill rectanglular box hotel. Plenty of free parking, great rooms, very clean. Great service! The only thing i suggest; improve the quality of your food at the restaurant. We had your "brunch/breakfast" with eggs, obviously pre cooked bacon, cold toast with even harder cold butter, potatoes which were ever so slightly warm and appeared to have been sitting awhile. Along with coffee. We mentioned to the server that it it had a strong cinnamon taste/smell to it.. they should explain to guests that their coffee has cinnamon. Love the hotel but not their food. Shame

My new name is " NORM" ("Cheers" reference...) RICH, at the rooftop bar never ceases to amaze! I am a Diamond for Life member and Hilton honors member at HIlton for 20+years... because of the the service and personal service at this MARRIOTT property especially RICH... I WONT GO BACK TO THE HILTON in St. Pete. THANK YOU!

I am here for the food! And wine. The restaurant is called K Club bistro. Named after the owners wife, Karol We started the night on the roof top (9th floor) bar. We had one round of drinks. I recommend getting wine, they do have a lovely selection of good wine. The upstairs bar is beautiful. I am not going to give this place a bad rating based on 1 bartender who will probably not last. After drinks we went down stair & ate out side. It was lovely evening. The weather was perfect. Could also be a great date night location. Cafe Ponte's chef is here! You can tell by the menu, creative& delicious. We started with the seafood appetizer, i loved the Oysters with the frozen watermelon on top. A wow appetizer! Best shrimp & grits! Wow!!! I had the cod & fries and was very happy with my order even though I had food envy of my friend's shrimp & grits . The fries were fantastic with rosemary & vinegar. Cod was perfect, reminded me of a perfect British fish & chips I had in London. This place is a few weeks old, come before the crowds finds it. The food is a foodies heaven. Enjoy!

Excellent gem right off the road from Tampa Airport, and quick access to Russell Road. Everyone was nice. Not one day, but every day I was there. The food from the restaurant very good and they will do egg whites if you ask. No milk alternative, but if you can have the coffeemate powdered creamer, they will get it for you. Just ask. The hotel room was modern and immaculate. Free bottles of water each day, I'd you ask for room housekeeping. They have a mini fridge. The Wifi was great, with no issues. The only minus was no USB-C, but the majority of hotels lack this. These hotels need to realize that by 2024, every Apple device will use only USB-C. Any Samsung phone today uses only USB-C, and the plugin is different than USB-A. OVERALL, super, super hotel.

Such a beautiful hotel in a great location. We had a king room and absolutely LOVED it. It was super spacious. Being a Bon Voy member I was upgraded to the top floor so the view was really nice. I fell in love with the marble bathroom! It was a great experience staying here. About 25 min drive from YBOR to go out at night.

The Karol Hotel exceeded my expectations in every aspect, prompting me to make an exception and write this exceptional review. As a seasoned traveler who has stayed in numerous prestigious hotels, including the Ritz Carlton and Four Seasons, I can confidently say that The Karol stands out. I stumbled upon The Karol through the Bonvoy app and decided to book a suite for my family due to its convenient location near TPA airport. Despite arriving before check-in time, the staff was incredibly accommodating. The front desk attendant, FDLady, politely informed us that the previous guest had just checked out and the room would need cleaning. Understanding the situation, I suggested downgrading, but she assured us that the booked room was exceptional and they would expedite the cleaning process. Since my son and I were comfortable waiting, we decided to patiently enjoy the lobby. What made this experience truly exceptional was the attentive service we received. FDLady, realizing our early arrival, recommended the restaurant for brunch and kindly offered to store our bags. We declined the offer, opting to relax in the lobby. Shortly after, a manager approached us with a welcome card, sincerely apologizing for the inconvenience and ensuring that my expected delivery was safely held behind the front desk. Although unnecessary, it showcased their commitment to excellent service. Moments later, FDLady surprised us with complimentary drink cards for the rooftop bar, expressing her apologies once again. To our delight, she soon returned with our room keys, having retrieved my delivery, and pointed out the elevators. We had waited less than an hour, well before the official check-in time, yet the hotel had already surpassed our expectations in their efforts to make our stay comfortable. Upon entering the room, we were met with cleanliness, attention to detail, and a sense of luxury. It was evident that The Karol takes pride in their well-appointed accommodations, as our suite provided a comfortable and inviting atmosphere throughout our stay. We thoroughly enjoyed the remainder of our visit, indulging in a delightful dinner at the on-site restaurant and exploring the rooftop bar. Each experience was exceptional, further solidifying our decision to choose The Karol again when we return to the area. In conclusion, The Karol Hotel offers exceptional service, comfortable accommodations, and a genuine commitment to ensuring guests have a memorable stay. Great hotel and super speedy front desk service. Lives up to the four stars for sure. The bathrooms are top notch and all granite. I love the artsy beachy design and they had a nice rooftop bar and pool area. The bed was super comfortable and the view was nice looking over a lake. The only thing stopping this from a five star is the elevator is slightly slow and my room was a bit loud since it was right next to elevator.

Zach was an amazing waiter here! He made the atmosphere so calming and was constantly checking in on us to make sure we were okay and happy. Would definitely come here again!

This hotel is really nice. The lobby was decorated for Christmas. They had a rooftop bar and a restaurant in the hotel. The front desk provided excellent service. Any issue that I had they fixed it. The room was really nice and clean. They made sure to let you know what steps they take to keep the rooms clean and sanitized. I surprisingly enjoyed my stay at this hotel. It's about 15-20 minutes from downtown but it's a quick drive.

I usually don't review my bottle stays. However the service and stay at The Karol was wonderful. The Karol is a beautiful hotel off a main thoroughfare in Clearwater. Although it is not, the hotel looks like it should be right on the beach (a lot of South Beach). My room was beautifully decorated and felt relaxing right when I walked in. The bonus the hotel has a water softener. How many hotels have I stayed in and gotten extra dry skin? Not at The Karol the shower was amazing and didn't leave me asking dry. It's the little things. Walking in to check-in the foyer is grand, the staff earn and courteous and 2 restaurants on that level. It didn't send as of guests were required to wear masks but the staff were still masked for COVID-19 Saturday measures. Located in a nice central place to travel between Indian Rocks beach and Clearwater Beach I'll definitely be back. Plus I didn't get a chance to experience the sky bar, a must.

Excellent hotel, and even more notably, and amazing roof top bar! When we walked into the hotel libby we were greated with a "Wellcome!" And a smile, everyone we passed said hello, and the manager on duty took a few moments to introduce himself. The Karol, and the Vanage, provided such great service from start to finish of our first visit. The views from the top floor span all the way to the water and the staff take care of every detail. While taking in the view, a drink, and their amazing charcuterie board, Wade brought out some additional cheese to go with what we were enjoying. I cannot recommend it enough! If you are local, stop by for a drink. If you are visiting, you can't go wrong for a great vacation!

Great location! Right off the highway. Clean, super spacious room and bathroom. The beds are comfy! Only mishap was our room key didn't work for our room and we were switched to another floor. Service was good.

This hotel is immaculate!! Very clean, I didn't even need to use my sanitizing wipes I've been obsessing over since COVID. The only thing was that they really should use bleach or grout cleaner for the bathroom floors, that grout is no longer white, it looks dingy and could use a good scrub. Service was so phenomenal, the ladies at the desk were almost unbelievably nice at check in. They were so welcoming, nice job management, awesome team. During my stay I requested towels etc and it typically only took a few min. I also went to the front desk to ask for more pool towels and they were super nice and apologetic that I would have to wait a bit. Front desk also warmed food up for me and acted like it was no big deal at all. The rooftop is a must (I will write that review separately). If I return to Tampa/Clearwater, I would stay here again! 30 min to most beaches. Starbucks and a few other small restaurants are in walking distance. Best of all......Freeeeeeee parking!! Whoot whoot.

I've been coming to St Pete for 15 years for work every other month and until last year was loyal to another hotel. Decided to give The Karol at try, since I'm a Marriott Bonvoy member and it was a great decision. It's upscale atmosphere and the rooms and restaurants are all top notch, but the reason we keep returning is because of Rich at the rooftop bar. Since the first visit, he has been amazingly kind, fun and attentive. He has always remembered my name and my drink of choice. He makes staying away from home for work much more comfortable. He's an asset to the hotel! I'll keep coming back because of him!

I was excited to stay at the Karol hotel while on business in Clearwater. Understanding that it is a brand new hotel, it's expected that there are some speed bumps The hotel itself is beautiful. It's a very clean, contemporary look and feel with a touch of art deco. As a Marriott Bonvoy member, I've never had an issue checking in a couple hours early at a Marriott property. While trying to check in around 12:45 in the afternoon I was told that there were no rooms available. I asked for an ETA and they said to expect up to several hours. I asked her to look again and then the other lady at the front desk suddenly found a room. So, let's just chalk that up to a brand new front desk person. I have two concerns specific to the room. The lack of outlets at the desk. I ended up plugging in about 4 feet away and moving my laptop to the edge of the desk to charge. I have this great little coffee machine in my room, but no coffee or tea to use with it. Also the minibar/snacks was not stocked.Barada salad withBarada salad withb Now, back to the good. The food and drink at this hotel are amazing. We hosted a group of 10 people for dinner at the hotel restaurant tonight and everyone thoroughly enjoyed everything. The dishes are plated beautifully and tasted delicious. I hear that the rooftop bar will be opening in a few weeks. I will definitely give this hotel another chance the next time I am back in Clearwater.

My second time staying at this hotel. Great location, easy access to highways and food in the area. Service and cleanliness of the entire hotel is A+! The amenities and Restaurants on site are a great touch. Staff members go above and beyond! The complimentary coffee is a must have! Definitely recommend and will be booking another stay there with my family.

The Karol Hotel, St. Petersburg Clearwater, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel on Ulmerton Road in Clearwater is a great place to stay that is quality and unique. I really like the location and views and the overall atmosphere and experience that they provide here. The staff here is very helpful and accommodating to make sure that you have everything that you need for the best stay.

Stayed here for two nights with my husband. Great hotel, great location. Staff was super nice, restaurant was really good. Our room was spacious and clean. Good shower and amenities.

Physically giving this a 5 star, but if I had to break it down even more I'd say it's a solid 4.7/5. But that's to technical for my likings. This hotel really is SO nice. I am such a hotel snob and so over the battle of having (actually) clean hotel rooms. This hotel literally was spotless from the lobby to each room. The details of the rooms are so nice and really add to beauty! The bathrooms with the wall, shower and floor tiles all being the same just gave it such a better look! Location is super close to downtown St Petersburg and good eats. Close to Clearwater/St Petes airport (like 5 mins) 30 mins to most gulf beaches. 50-60 mins from siesta key. 20 mins to downtown Tampa! Super good spot that was quiet and had no issue with. Free parking too! My points being deducted really came from little things that are hardly worth mentioning. The pillows are so uncomfortable. Do ask for the foam pillows because they are WAY better the the ones on the bed. The bed is comfy that isn't much of a complaint. The water is hot in the shower without a doubt! The other issue we had was the temperature in the room. The thermostat won't let you go below 68 degrees for the AC, and it is hard to set. It would always turn off in the middle of the night and the room would get hot. Very minor complaints! The hotel staff is so kind. They were always helpful and really made it enjoyable. We always saw people cleaning too! We had a small incident that is nothing to do with the hotel, we had a small little lizard make it's way to our room and the staff was so good about getting us to a new room ASAP! They gave complimentary drinks as well. Again, it's Florida this stuff happens it was not a big deal and they were SO good about it. The hotel rooftop is great and the drinks are wonderful. Bar tender was super cool! The K bistro restaurant was not open much of any at all in our 5 days here due to staffing shortages. But the rooftop did serve some stuff some there and it was great! Overall really this is a great hotel and the cleanliness should never drop standard because it's so refreshing. Really look forward to coming back!

I stayed here with my aunt for one night only. The entire hotel is very modern (2020) and the guest services were extremely accommodating and kind people. I was extremely pleased with my stay.

Dealing with some family medical issues has lead us to frequent the Clearwater area. As unplanned hotels stay add up, I thought it would be great to find some hotel deals. Travelzoo offered a deal to stay at the Karol for $149 a night plus a $25 food and beverage credit so we gave it a shot. What a lovely, clean hotel! The staff was extremely welcoming (even though I walked in with two small children). They were even kind enough to let me know that I had left behind one of their water bottles at check in. The pool was gorgeous and over looked a lovely water feature. The rooms were spacious, the beds comfy and very well appointed. I honestly cannot say anything bad about this hotel.

I had the opportunity to grab lunch here today. We sat inside but still had a beautiful view of the pond side deck seating. The hotel was clean and elegant inside. The dining area was spacious and spotless. The food was wonderful and reasonably priced for the portions. I would absolutely go back.

We stayed here for a week and I cannot express what a wonderful experience we had. This hotel is lovely! Perfectly appointed, quiet, sparkling clean and luxurious. The staff were all so helpful and the hotel restaurant and roof bar are fabulous too. Highly recommend!!

We stayed at the Karol hotel for a 4th of July getaway. It was very clean and the rooms were quite comfortable. The highlight is the rooftop bar with the views of the city. The perfect spot for fireworks! The food at the restaurant is good. They are still working on the menu after COVID so it is small but mostly well done. Only complaint was the oysters were not quite as fresh, and may need to be left off the menu for the summer. The customer service was good. Exceptional in some areas and mediocre in the Kbar. Again I think they are working out some kinks. If you are using a debit card, be prepared for the hotel to hold double your stay and double your bill if you eat on property. That was annoying but not a dealbreaker. They may want to let customers know at check in. Overall, I would recommend.

If you plan a visit to the Tampa Bay Area, book a room here! The rooms are modern, clean, and comfortable. And the food and drink options are fantastic. The rooftop bar, downstairs bar, and KClub are always on point.

I recently celebrated two birthdays with a group of friends at the Karol Hotel Vantage Rooftop Bar. The food and the service were both excellent. The bar and seating areas are elegant and the view is incomparable. We had several appetizers and desserts. My particular favorites are the Charcuterie and Mediterranean Boards and the Apple Dumpling Tart with Cinnamon Ice Cream. I would rate our experience as 10 stars if I could.

The hotel just opened and I stayed 2 nights. All the hotel staff were very friendly and accommodating to all guests. Very comfortable beds! Everything is beautifully crafted clean. Short distance to all beaches and night life. Would definitely come back and stay again!

The hotel is really nice. The conference rooms are also really nice. The rooftop bar and the bar downstairs are really cool to hang out after work. The rates are moderate. There are a few things that would make it better. First, the lobby has a slight odor and could use some air freshener. None of the rooms have microwaves, so it isn't convenient for those who stay there every other week for work. Lately, there isn't any ice. I'm on a special diet that requires me to drink smoothies for two meals per day. Hopefully, management will take this input and use it for good.

Great hotel, restaurant and bar. I especially like the rooftop bar. Stan, Justin, and Suzanne are great bartenders. We live locally and really appreciate the genuine hospitality. The restaurant has a lot of great entrees, so you can enjoy the bar and then the restaurant or vice versa. This place has become a staple for us locals.

We had a gathering at the rooftop bar. The food is not good, drinks are not good, one staff member was very rude.

What a beauty ! I got the pleasure of staying at this hotel for a work trip and it recently opened a week ago. The esthetics of this hotel are to die floor and let's not even get started on the furniture selection. The team welcomes you with a welcome cocktail named after Karol the owners wife. The staff was extremely welcoming and helpful. I got to try the bar and they have an amazing extensive wine selection to try as well. They will be opening a rooftop bar next month so I think that will be a great edition. I wish I got to stay a longer stay to enjoy the amenities but I will definitely be back when I visit the St. Pete area.

Get the soup! Nice smaller restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. The Karol salad is really good too!
