The atmosphere and decor are very inviting. I loved the large open windows and the colourful bougainvillea flowers. I was passing by, and got tempted by the absolutely fabulous decoration. Their choice of music is fantastic; creates a vibrant mood. Very different from the same old pubs. Their lemon beer was refreshing, delicious and perfect for summer. However, we later noticed that the beer was past best before date. This is May and the date was crossed in February. That was disappointing. Anyway, the beer tasted fine. But I hope they take more care into ensuring their products are not expired.

My partner and I visited Kazbar for lunch and absolutely loved it. We shared five tapas dishes, and the portion sizes were great — we left feeling very full! We tried the pork burgers, chicken thighs, prawn kebabs, bravas, and chilli beef spring rolls, and every dish was fantastic. Kazbar also makes original cocktails, so definitely ask if your favourite isn’t listed on the menu. The staff were very polite and attentive, and we enjoyed it so much that we booked to come back again!

Great atmosphere, really cool decor and friendly staff. Food was tasty too, I really liked the pig cheek!

Tapas options are limited to a handful of restaurants in Oxford. Hence I have visited Kasbar several times over the years. I like the atmosphere and the decor. The menu choices are perhaps a little safe. Nothing that excites but perfectly edible. The staff are always friendly and the service a little too quick if anything. You won’t be left waiting for your food very long.

Google
The staffs are slow with serving and more attentive by receiving orders for drinks and cocktails than food. The food is okay but lacking in authenticity and freshness. Although the interior design is intriguing, it is difficult to eat at these tables because of the uncomfortable chairs. I think this restaurant sounds more like a place to hang out over drinks with friends than it does for eating. To serve meals more effectively and with greater quality, the service must be enhanced.

Google
Always a place that does not disappoint. I believe that Kazbar is probably one of the better restaurants in the whole of Oxford in terms of dining and experience. With a great selection of vast tapas dishes there is a choice for all, it has such a lively and unique atmosphere which you would not expect from Oxford, dishes are delicious, and prices are very fair.

Google
Kaz Bar in Oxford has such a great vibe – the colourful decor and laid-back atmosphere make it the perfect spot for a night out. The cocktails are top notch, full of flavour and always mixed to perfection. The tapas are just as good – loads of variety, great portions, and really tasty. The staff are always friendly and welcoming, and they go out of their way to make sure you’re looked after. Whether you’re out for a few drinks or sharing food with mates, it’s a place you’ll definitely want to come back to.

Google
Cool place with excellent atmosphere and some level of access. So, you can get a chair in here with help (double doors need opening) and if you do then the food and atmosphere will make it worth it. So, first things first. Food: lots of amazing tapas available here for sharing and everything tastes great! You can have cocktails and quite a large selection of alcohol. The music is great. There are seats outside and inside and the side windows open up so that you've got breeze or sun. Atmosphere: this place has a bar type of feel even in the day. But it's relaxed. Not a place for dancing or anything and not sleepy. Food comes fast and music is relatively low but still bar style. A lot of manu chao and similar. Service: excellent all day all the time.

Yelp
Lovely cocktails, glam vibes and friendly staff. I came here for a catch up with friends and it was perfect!

Yelp
Kazbar is famous for its fantastic selection of tapas of a superb taste! I don't think you can go wrong whatever dish you chose - they all taste awesome. I just love the idea of tapas, as it allows you to try more. The decor is very cool too- you might think you are in moorish Spain. Monday-Thursday there is a happy hour 50% off offer, which makes your visit even better!

Yelp
The best tapas I've had all year ! We ordered a bunch of small plates to share , and enjoyed them all. Good food, and good atmosphere.

Yelp
Wonderful place to grab a drink with friends and unwind after work or to take a special someone for an intimate meal. My friends and I sat in the booth by the bar, where it was a bit livelier, and had a lovey time trying all the different tapas! Pro tip: pair your tapas with the Moroccan Iced Tea - they're dangerously delicious!!!

Yelp
What a cool little tapas bar in Oxford. I wouldn't say it's quite the quality of what can be found in Spain, but certainly one of the better meals we had on our trip in the UK. The staff is incredibly nice, the food is very tasty, and all for a reasonable price! The bloody mary with sherry... unbelievable!

Yelp
We stopped in for a few quick bits after arriving on a late train and before heading to pub quiz. The hostess seated us promptly, only to have the server ask us to move since we were just 3 and had been seated at an area meant to incorporate a larger group. No problem, but tell that to your hostess, not your customers, especially since it's not like we asked for the larger space. We ate primarily from the specials off the chalkboard: Rocket salad with manchego Falafel Bocadillo con jamon iberico Tapenade The rocket salad was a winner, but then again, anything with rocket and manchego is going to be a winner for me. The falafel was on the dry side and pretty flavorless, and definitely not the crispy-outside-fluffy-inside that marks a great falafel in my mind. The bocadillo was mostly bread, though the meat inside was decently savory and fatty to provide some flavor. The tapenade was deliciously briny and a good portion. We probably would've eaten more, but we were already late, and didn't feel particularly welcome with the drama between the hostess and the server.

Yelp
Such a nice oasis. Pardon the pun. We had cocktails, charcuterie, olives, the warm pimiento salad, and the sliced lamb with pine nuts. Finished off with the Crema Catalana, which was a little dish of perfection. Great atmosphere, service, and food.
google avatar

Yelp
Went there on a Friday evening, just before he live music. They sat us right away, but we were warned that we'd need to clear our table in an hour's time because of the band needing the space. We ordered the pork short ribs, the baba ganoush, bread, chicken thighs, butternut squash and the octopus. We loved everything except for the pork ribs. It smelled too much like pork. And the butternut squash dish had more chickpeas than squash, which was a little disappointing. But everything came out in a timely fashion and was on the whole tasty for reasonable price. We'll be returning!

Yelp
Kazbar I'm here and i like it....rock the kazbar. Ok i know they spelt it wrong, but who cares. Its a fantastic Moroccan themed cafe with an amazing range of tapas and cocktails at a decent price. Perfectly located at the bottom of Cowley, its a great place to grab a bite to eat before heading into the city for a night out. With a such a laid back atmosphere, i could see myself whiling a way entire afternoons in a corner of the bar sipping on cocktails. REVIEW IN ONE LINE: as long as you don't sing the clash and like tapas, its awesome

Yelp
Holy crap this is the place to eat in Oxford. Wicked delicious tapas. Lamb, chorizo, cheese, breads....amazing. The price was phenomenal too. If you are ever in Oxford you REALLY want to check out this Moroccan inspired tapas bar. The wait may be long and the service may be slow, but it is well worth given the quality of the meal. I will be seeing this place again soon.

Nicholas G.

Yelp
Kazbar isn't my first choice of Cowley restaurants, but went along for the first time with a friend. Walk in and you're greeted by enthusiastic staff at the bar. This is a Morrocan/Spanish restaurant, so tapas or small plates are the bulk of the menu. The quality was excellent and we received our four dishes quickly. I recommend the lamb or fish dishes. With that said, get ready to holler at your table mate because this is a bar and it is LOUD. A little quieter in the rear of the restaurant. The waitresses we had seem overworked and irritable.
google avatar

Yelp
Walking into kazbar you are transported into a warm exotic land where the drinks are sweet and the food is spicy. It's An incredible interior and the perfect space to settle into with a big group of friends at a big table or a more intimate cozy corner for two. The drinks are delightful with sangria pitchers being the winner of the evening. The Marrakech express was also a big hit. Food wise - it's fun to share so you can try even more and there are a lot of vegetarian options which was a first for me at a tapas restaurant. For the vegetarians reading I would recommend the patatas bravas and butterbeans dish. Both were spectacular. It's the perfect place for a fun night out, the ambience is amazing and you can comfortably converse and feast on good drink and food!

Yelp
Excellent tapas especially Carne Picada - spicy lamb with houmous and pine nuts ;) You can relax almost laying on cushions and looking at amazing decorations to move yourself to Spain. Great customer service. Lucy was very competent advicing about wine. 3 course meal with bottle of wine and tip was around £60. Another time I went there for tea £2.5. Even simple mint tea is served like a king's drink. I love this place!
google avatar

Milosz K.

Yelp
There are no many tapas places in Oxford neither in the entire UK so having one and really top one seems to be unbelievable. Kazbar made feel like I am there in south Spain. Being able to laydown half way and enjoing the architecture and decorations inside the place could be seen as the full on experience. But there was something much more. Customer Service is what I believe makes this place so unforgettable. A lady her name Lucy advised us on bottle of wine and matched cheese tapas. Then later we had 4 other small tapas portions. Some of hot some cold. We spent there 3 hours slowly eating and still had some space for outstanding cakes. Nothing was wrong. Even the price for 4 portions of tapas, selection of cheddar cheese, bottle of wine and cakes wasn't really expensive as we end up with 5 gBp tip for Lucy in total 61 GBP. Come on! that's great!

Yelp
I always pass by this place when I am walking to school and really wanted to check it out. I dragged my friend to go with me so here last night and let me tell you, we were not disappointed! The ambiance of the place is amazing! It has a very Morrocan feel to it and all the decor is beautiful. I love the seating arrangements here too - they have tables and couches - so, if you're trying to make date plans, this is a great little place to go ;) We ordered a couple of tapas and I ordered some sangria - all of it was great! The portion size was reasonable and so was the price. Definitely try some dessert too if you have room to spare...they are really yummy!

Yelp
Moroccan Mint Tea! amazingly good. I never drink tea, but this one has got me hooked. In fact I even ventured out in search for the special ingredient- Chinese Gunpowder tea! :) Tapas dishes were outstanding and full of flavour. Service was absolutely marvellous. Friendly and willing to help. The décor was rather mesmerizing, it felt as if you were actually in Morocco; lanterns, rugs, guitars, incense, music and pillows. Im a true fan! Cant wait to go back- Oxford here I come!
google avatar

Sarah T.

Yelp
I have friends for whom this is their default meeting place. They're hooked on the mojitos. I'm not much of a drinker, but I had my first mint-from-a-mint-plant tea here (you mean mint doesn't grow in teabags?), and I've never looked back. The tapas is tasty, and the atmosphere is at once comfortable and lively. Overall it's a solid dining experience. If you're female, top it off by visiting the loo--it's actually worth going just to see. My sources tell me that the men's room is not up to the same standard, and in fact is rather ordinary. Sorry, guys! The downside is that it is on the pricey side, but the drinks should ease that pain...

Yelp
Staying in an apartment down the street in Oxford, we were looking for something besides pub food. Reasonably priced and delicious tapas selections and excellent sangria, topped off by friendly, efficient service makes this place merit recommendation.
google avatar

Yelp
Great tapas place in Oxford. I love going here--everything about it is great. The seating is authentic. The service is helpful. The food is wonderful. Not really cheap, but not outrageously expensive. I keep coming back because of the quality. Standouts include delicious fava beans and grilled peppers.

Yelp
Amazing atmosphere, amazing cosmopolitans, and a great weekday happy hour! Will probably become a regular.

Yelp
I got back from Paris a week ago and after a few days in Oxford I was once again feeling the need for adventure. So before long, I was strutting my way down the Cowley road. From what I had heard, it wasn't that nice and upon walking down the street for the first time, I couldn't decide if I was more beguiled or BEMUSED. I saw a man spit on the ground, a dog without an owner, a man wearing mismatched socks, and a woman who's probably 30 with like no teeth. The murals they have are colorful and distinctive, but I should have known the only good graffiti in England is to be found in Bristol (where Banksey is from). HOWEVER I am incredulous as to how a place like Kazbar has taken this long to call itself to my attention. I chose Kazbar because it's a little bit off the main road, and looks like the kind of place a mom and pop could own. Hole in the walls are ALWAYS the way forward. Sitting on a north African cushion I ordered a lamb tagine and a moroccan tea. Before the dish arrived, I was served a complimentary cucumber salad, with spanish peppers. I don't know if they have cucumbers in Africa, but I feel like they eat more of them here than elsewhere. When in Rome! My tagine arrived after that, a little bit too quick if you ask me. (I have a friend who ate bad moroccan food once and for a week she couldn't crap normally. I won't mention her by name, but you know who you are!) HOWEVER all my doubts went out the window as soon as I took that first mouthwateringly scrumptious bite. The spices: exotic and foreign. The potatoes: cooked to exquisite perfection. The lamb: tenderly delicious. The rice was more a heap of small yellow grains. I washed this all down with another tea, which I assure you works well as an apéretif and a dégestif. I asked for the bill and it came pronto. Voilà! I used to have my doubts about the Cowley road. Jennifer told me that there was a lot more to this street than meets the eye and even though she was probably just referring to the muslims, she's kind of right. Kazbar is in keeping with the theme of multiculturalism that Cowley road has but made me realise that Cowley road is not just a road, but a distinct area with its own people, cuisines, and delicacies which made for a morning of refinement and cultural salubriosity. That's one more place to cross off the list!

Yelp
Christmas lights, kind barstaff and dancing tea kettles and guitars?! Count. Me. In. The Cava Mojitos are top notch and this place is always pretty packed on the weekend. When I stopped in, the kitchen was closed but usually this place serves up some pretty decent tapas (or so I've been told). As for the dancing tea kettles and guitars, you ask? Tie a string to the neck of a guitar, suspend it from the ceiling, attach the other end to the corner of the entrance door. Every time someone enters, the guitar goes up and down. It feels like something out of a Disney's The Sword in the Stone or Beauty and the Beast. It's a creative touch and don't stop being amusing time after time.

Yelp
Boy do I love this place! Chorizo is awesome, shrimp in garlic sauce, lamb tangine and the fresh bread rock. Did not like the chicken wings one bit. The fig and vanilla daiquiri was good.

Mary D.

Yelp
It's shocking to me that this place is so well reviewed. I will concede that it's cheap, and the interior is shabby chic, but the food and drinks are terrible. Flavorless food that the Spanish would be ashamed to put their name to. Syrupy sangria that would induce instant diabities, which when we sent back, 2 people separately came over us to say "it's supposed to be sweet." Well not that sweet, and arguing with a customer is never a great strategy.
google avatar

Qype User (maveri…)

Yelp
Very cool little Morrocan bar on the cowley road. The sangria here is awesome. This is the kind of place where it's so nice to while away nice sunny afternoons (particularly when they open the big windows). Love it!

Yelp
oh my tapas! so good, we came two nights in a row. small shareable plates allowed us to order with reckless abandon, and every single blessed thing was AMAZING. and the ambiance of this restaurant...can't beat it! shame this place is 5200mi away or i would certainly be in more often.

Yelp
A moroccan themed bar its full of morocan decor with little tables surrounded by big plump and colourful cushions, with twinkly lights and candles. There is even a glass roof at the back so you can see the night sky :) It has a nice relaxed atmosphere and is great for catching up with friends at the weekend or for lunch in the week. The staff are friendly and will help you choose a nice mix of tapas. I think they cost about £2.95 although some will be cheaper etc. They are not that filling because they are tapas but are a great nibble. I think we were told we could have one free tapas with a drink. That was on a weekday at lunch time but you should check that out before you expect it for sure. I have only been here once in the evening and it was nice but the decor was lost in the crowd so its nice to go in the day time to soak it all in. Its a nice bar with a nice atmosphere but i probably would not stay here all night. Its not the cheapest place but the decor is really worth a look for a catch up with friends.
google avatar

Qype User (caitli…)

Yelp
The food is lovely but not filling. I recommend ordering some bread to sop up the sauces, as the tapas are, you know, tapas-sized. The cocktails are great, too, particularly the fig and vanilla daquiri. I don't care for very sweet drinks, or vanilla, but it's beautiful - tangy and complex, with fig-infused rum. What really sells the place, though, is the place itself. The front room/bar is a conservatory - particularly great on summer nights. The rest is curvy benches meant to look like they are carved out of the desert, draped with rugs. It's extremely cozy and pleasant, even a little homey. Nice especially on a cold and rainy evening, to escape inside. I haven't sampled anything I didn't like, but the merguez served with tzatziki is fantastic.

Yelp
FIVE STAR without a doubt. Kazbar hits a winner on all accounts. A real home from home atmospherethe first thing I do is kick off my shoes and sit crossed legged in one of the cushioned window seats. A fine mix of cocktails, spirits, coffees and wines to get you started along with some delicious olives or tapas. Sit in the lively bar or in the extensive back rooms - though the place is big, it is deliciously cosy! There is a huge variety of food to choose from, and if you are hungry even better, because you rarely have to wait more than 5 minutes for your food! The internal decor is immense. I will say no more - you have to go experience it yourself!
google avatar

Qype User (LLB8…)

Yelp
A lovely place - but very popular so get there early! This place has no need to take bookings as so doesn't, it's guaranteed to be full up. Turn up early or be prepared to wait. The food is exceptional - a brilliant selection of hot and cold tapas, with a few specials included, all served in a lovely relaxed atmosphere by very friendly and attentive staff. I really enjoyed all my food and had a fantastic time. Excellent sangria to be had here, and a lovely selection of sherry - try a glass after your meal, you won't be disappointed! I liked the red varieties, really fruity and warming. There are formal tables and a few cushioned benches and stools for a more relaxed approach. A lovely place for a date or a night out with a handful of close friends, so that you can order a few bits and pieces to share between you. Fantastic! But it is Oxford's worst kept secret - so be prepared to queue.

Yelp
Such a great atmosphere, fantastic food and drinks!! Warm and welcoming service! Visit here. Don't think twice, you won't regret it.

Yelp
This was my favorite place while living in Oxford for grad school. It was right near my house but it really did have such a great atmosphere and tapa specials. Also Cafe Tarifa and Cafe Coco are run by the same owner and are all wonderful! They are in a great part of town so definitely check them out. Cafe Tarifa shows good movies with free popcorn once a week. Cafe Coco is a great place to study and have a nice latte (pizza specials and great salads).

Yelp
A decent little moroccan themed bar at the civilized end of Cowley road. It's particularly nice here in the summer when they open up the windows and let the air come through the place. A good selection of beers and very nice tapas. Try the patas bravas. They are great here. If you are a student, this probably isn't a bad place to take mum and dad if they are coming up to visit. Civilized, trendy, but not always rammed with students. Unusual for Oxford.....
google avatar

Qype User (Ninja3…)

Yelp
This is such a relaxing and chilled out place. Its sophisticated yet friendly, with good drinks and cocktails at reasoanble prices. It does serve food if you get the munchies, but dont expect anything too substantial. Its open fairly late so is a good place to go after you've finished in town and are on your way home. A favourite with both Oxford and Brookes students.

Qype User (nadiro…)

Yelp
This place is looks amazing from the outside and once inside I want to live there! A mixture between Moroccan and Spanish influence in the decor which is done out amazingly! The seats and cushions just make you want lie down and completely chill for the rest of the day! The tapas seem traditional and taste delicious and the whole thing is really reasonable! I love this place!

Yelp
Great place to sit and daydream in the nice sunny weather, free tapas at certain times and right next to coco. Morrocan feel on the end of the cowley road - just right to start off an evening

Yelp
Good food, superb atmosphere, and very friendly service. The drinks are inventive, but they often sound better than they taste.
google avatar

Yelp
I unfortunately didn't have the chance to sample the food but I had a wonderful time at the bar. The drinks, although seemingly generic, are well priced and have their own individual twists. My personal favourites were the raspberry fizz and the classic Bellini. The bar staff are very friendly and the atmosphere is welcoming. I'd definitely visit again.

Yelp
the kazbar in cowley oxford is a lovely tapas restuarant with a great moroccan traditional feeling to it. if you want something with creative flair this restuarant has this on ofer for you. the restuarant offers a great moroccan menu and tapas and nice fine dining with great range of drinks on offer.

Heather M.

Yelp
The atmosphere of Kazbar is worth the price of admission; cozy banquettes are lined with colorful cushions, punched tin lanterns gently light the room, and the gentle smell of incense wafts across the entryway as you make your way to the back. The service is friendly and helpful; the hummus is tasty, although the bread it's served with is warmed slices of Italian bread, not the authentic pita I was hoping for. The sangria was very lovely, with a gentle, warm spice to it, and the pitcher held more sangria than we thought from looking at it - always a nice surprise. We ordered a total of eight tapas between the three of us. I'll start with the ones that were fine or good, and move up to the best. First, my mom's orders. She ordered the pimientos piquillo con alcachufas, a roasted pepper and artichoke dish with goat cheese. She also got the albondigas, spiced meatballs, and gambas al pil pil, prawns in a chili garlic herb butter. While all three were fine, the best was absolutely the spiced meatballs. They were incredibly tasty, and spicy enough that I needed a bit of tzatziki to cool the bite. Next, my orders. I ordered the fabada asturiana, which consisted of chorizo, black pudding, and butter beans in a tomato paprika sauce. It was very tasty. My escalivada, or char-grilled vegetables, was lovely, but consisted of a thin slice of zucchini, a thin slice of eggplant, a strip of roast pepper, and half of a tiny artichoke. I was hoping for a heartier portion. Finally, as always, dad seems to be the superstar at ordering. First, he ordered the chorizo a la sidra from the specials menu, a baked chorizo with cooked onions in cider. I would absolutely order this again; in fact, we spent a good part of the meal discussing other ways we could use this onion and cider combination in recipes. Second, he ordered the merguez, a sausage made from beef, lamb, and harissa, served with tzatziki. This dish was soooooo fantastic; I'm pretty sure I made inappropriate noises while sampling it. I would absolutely order it again. He also ordered the pork ribs, which were delightful; I wouldn't put them on my short list, but only because ribs are a dish I've had many times before. If you like ribs, order them: you will not be disappointed. We ordered the Turkish Delight for dessert, more out of curiosity than anything else. I was expecting to like the rosewater flavored pieces, but they were too strong and sweet for me. Dad enjoyed the lemon ones. The final verdict; for ambiance, half-price tapas, and sangria on a weekday evening, absolutely go to Kazbar.

Yelp
Me and my girlfriend visited here on a recent Friday evening. The atmosphere is very nice and the Bar staff were very friendly when placing my drinks order. The Waitress that seated us did so fairly promptly considering it was a Friday night which was great, though we were there fairly early in the evening. The standard of food was OK and we ate all of it though the portion sizes are not huge so this is not too difficult. One of the cooked dishes did come out fairly cool though possibly as it had been placed on to a cold terracotta dish? My main gripe was with how we were treated once sat down, we were not treated negatively or overtly badly but there was a feeling of insignificance where we were sat. Our waitress was hard to catch when she was bringing food out for other patrons as she clearly was busy. Shouting "Excuse Me, Waitress" at the back of her head, above the enjoyable background noise of people chit chatting didn't seem quite right either. On top of this an incense stick was set alight and left burning in a wooden beam, dropping it's ash on to the floor and on to one of the little wooden seats. Which without noticing i proceeded to get on to my jeans when exiting, no great drama as it has washed out but annoying on the night none the less. All in all it is not terrible value and i'm not saying the staff were awful and the food is OK. There are just plenty of other places where i would rather spend £40 on a meal (of which only £6 was alcoholic drinks) for two people. Where both of us were able to leave and scarf down a Big Waffle Sundae each at G and D's after. Neither of us being Gluttonous on a daily basis this was a little shock. I would give it a 3.5 / 5 if i could. I would still recommend someone go at least once as it is quite nice inside with some great touches. Hopefully you will have slightly better luck than we did on the night.

Yelp
By far, this was our favorite cocktail bar in Oxford! It's down an alley and hidden, but you can here the music from down the Main Street. We went here twice while we were there. My husband was obsessed with the Marrekesh Express with Vodka, Kahlua and espresso. I had the mojito and margarita. They used top shelf liquor, so don't be afraid of the generic cocktails. You won't be disappointed. Great service and reasonably priced cocktails. But it's not just the cocktails that makes this place so special. They had some incense burning, and the decor is Middle Eastern/Spanish themed, with beautiful silk of different colors hanging from the glass ceilings. They also have glass windows, aligned with an ornate metal decor that gives the appearance of some of the things you would find in old Turkey. There is also a wooden guitar hanging from the top of the ceiling connected with the front door, so when people enter, the guitar goes up and down. They hang garlic and dried peppers in the bar area. The seating is lined with cotton, intricately designed with patterns you would see in the Mediterranean. Even the bathroom is luxurious. In the women's toilet, there is a huge shiny copper sink, resembling almost an ancient basin, with a soap dispenser that flips upside down for the soap. It is absolutely beautiful. We never tried the food in the restaurant attached to the bar, but I am sure it would not disappoint. We did have some of the bar food on the first night. We had olives, chicken wings, and chorizo in some kind of tomato sauce. Delicious! Please come here if you plan to go to Oxford. The bartenders are kind, quick, and smiling. It's always packed too! This is such a wonderful place and I'm so glad I got to visit this neighborhood gem! Go here for whenever, dates, before you go out, meeting with friends; it's never a bad place to go to, whatever day it is! They also offer specials during the week! LOVE this place!

Yelp
Some of the best tapas I've had in the UK. And not exorbitantly priced like many tapas places around the south. Fun and lively atmosphere. Only drawback was the furniture not being the most comfortable.

Yelp
i was first taken here by a friend and now we both just sit and think about it constantly- while drooling into cups. its an absolutely amazing place with a wonderful moroccon ambiance. given whatever time of the day of the year - it always feels like a lazy sunny afternoon on the inside. the waiters are traditionally dressed which adds to the theme and the decor is beautiful- to the point where i am now known as 'that one who keeps asking where we buy all our decor from'. the food is really tasty- spanish tapas style. its a nice place to go to have a light lunch or even on big occassion- as i did for my 21st. a wonderful range of drinks from cocktails to teas and coffees. you have not lived a fulfilling life if you havnt tried the moroccon mint tea. its a regular treat in my house now. and excellent place to catch up and have the best iced coffee of your life! a major plus is if you time it right- u can make it for the ' free tapas with a drink' offer. its a bit far away from the town centre but i nice walk. plus the perfect place to go after visiting the botanical gardens nearby. especially relaxing in summer where u can sit on the cushions next to the opened windows and observe the street traffic. i would highly recommend this place! what are you waiting for!

Yelp
I can't imagine what the other reviewers are talking about. We went about a year ago, so maybe the food is better now? It was the only place open about 11 pm, so we had a seat. I'm a real wine-lover but I didn't know most of their wines, so I asked for the server to recommend one. The one she recommended was awful: we literally left most of it in the bottle. The tapas are neither tasty nor generous in size. I mean, it's better than Tasca's, but it's definitely not worth wasting your money.

Yelp
Kazbar must be one of the atmospheric restaurants in Oxford. From its courtyard style area when in a sunny day you can just dream of being somewhere in the southern Mediterranean, to the darker yet more intimate section, with incense wafting into the air, you can be sure of a great experience. However, I concur with previous reviewers that portions are microscopic. A vegetarian dish of butter beans probably consisted of about 14 individual legumes, equally the lamb stew had just four tiny morsels of meat - all delicious, but more like an amuse-bouche, than even tapas, and so it goes on really, with only the dish of cured meats resembling something more reasonable in the portion control department. Bread is therefore an absolute must, unless your diet is so strict that you are confined to holograms of food only. The service is attentive and charming, but the music may be a little too loud for intimate conversation. I went to Kazbar at lunchtime so I have no idea if the menu changes in the evening, but even then I would have wanted more Moroccan/Middle Eastern dishes, like Pastilla for example, or Tagines. However, even with these faults Kazbar is a very nice place indeed.

Yelp
Super cute and cozy place! The tapas were delicious but a bit pricy. Definitely consider going when tapas are half price (between 5-6pm Sunday(?) to Thursday)

Yelp
Was in Oxford for a night on a work trip and managed to ignore the jet lag so I could check this place out. So glad I did! It was happy hour when I got there and enjoyed all kinds of delicious tapas for half the price. Staff were awesome. Felt like I was transported to a Moroccan palace. Thanks for the yummy memories, Kazbar.

Yelp
Enjoyed the food and the atmosphere! The tapas were good (although the ones with meat were better than the vegetarian ones). The morrocan mint tea was nice too. Next time I'll have to try the desserts!
