Location is excellent. Rooms are clean. Beds are extremely comfortable. Nice bathroom / shower. Rooms are small if you have more than 2 people. Staff are helpful. Attached restaurant is a good place to unwind. The hotel is an old building so quirks (like the 2 person elevator) may add charm or be a nuisance.

The Kent hotel is my go to spot in Miami!! We stayed the night before our cruise and loved it so much we stayed the night we got back. The location is absolutely perfect and the hotel has everything you could need, nice big comfy beds, huge TV, nice and clean, we couldnt have asked for more. The best part though hands down is the incredible service!!! Alex helped us both times we were there and he was incredibly accomidating, helpful and so so nice! Alex is an absolute gem of a human! Wes, Josh and magnus were also excelent as well. We cant wait to come back to Miami and stay at The Kent Hotel!

We booked this hotel for a night in Miami before a cruise. We were so thoroughly impressed we booked an extra night when we got back and extended our trip! Wes, Alex, and Josh made our stay at the Kent memorable! Thank you all!!|This hotel is a great location right next to everything you need! And the STAFF(shout out to Magnus) was exceptional! They gave us great tips for the area, and when they heard us talking about the beach brought out towels for our time!, We will be back for the Kent Hotel on our next girls trip!

Google
I had a GREAT mid-week getaway at The Kent. The location is ideal, 1 block away from all the action on Ocean Drive, and Collins itself was bustling with activity and great food. Also within walking distance of Lincoln Road and Espanola Way so check them out! The room was perfect. Nice size, comfortable, well appointed, and with a HUGE television, work station and mini fridge met all my needs. Housekeeping was spot on. And my room was amazingly quiet! And most importantly a special shout out to Josh at the front desk who took EXQUISITE care of me from start to finish!

The cleaning is well done and the staff is as nice as the placement in thw heart of the South Beach. The food is well done and actually cheap. The rooms and beautiful and well mantained and the rules are not so strict but they are nicely respected. The personal is friendly and always gives us a warm welcome and goodbyes.

We loved everything about our stay. Hotel let us early in as 10 am. It was very nice , very convenient. Employees were extremely pleasant, with no words needed for location, perfect.

Google
The room was tiny. There is no dresser in the room for you to put your clothes in. I had to live out of my luggage for a week. The bathroom was also tiny and dark, and the shower had very little power. There was no proper ventilation. The bed squeaked when you sat on them. We had to consistently ask for clean towels I would never stay there again. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone!

Google
Beautiful hotel in a very convenient location. Alex and Wes were amazing and super kind. The staff here are some of the best I have come across in all of Florida. I highly recommend staying at the Kent Hotel if you want a walking distance hotel to South Beach.

Yelp
I booked at this hotel to attend the Adobe Max conference; it was less than a mile away from the venue and seemed promising. Starting with the positives! I was pleasantly surprised by my stay here! The staff were kind (Shout out to Anthony! He was fabulous) and accommodating, eager to answer questions and help with requests. The pricing was very reasonable per night, especially so close to everything in South Beach. The room was a good size and it was nice to have a separate vanity mirror outside of the bathroom so we could both get ready in the mornings. The room had a nice, large tv on the wall, which was great for when I'd come back for the night. The couple of cons: the elevator was a lil scary (it would shudder a bit when you stepped in), but there was a staircase that you could take as well. The pillows weren't super comfy, so if we were to come again, we'd likely BYOP haha. The valet takes a bit of time, around 20 mins to grab your car, but we just called ahead of time so it would be ready for when we needed to leave, which worked out fine. If you're looking for a budget friendly stay on South Beach, I'd def recommend The Kent. It was a good experience, and for the price, you can't beat it! Very walkable area around the hotel too, so you'll have plenty of access to food as well.

Yelp
Stopping in quick before a cruise we were pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness and attentive service at this older art deco style hotel. Beautifully but simply redone there is a Lebanese restaurant at ground level right on the corner with so many options you may never need to leave the property. Wes and his impressive mustache with goatee made sure we had a solid parking plan, and even offered to print our boarding passes. After testing their seafood for freshness, we were sure- we will stay here again!

Yelp
This hotel is in a great location. A block behind Ocean Drive. It is around the corner from the Versace Mansion. Local restaurants near by and the Cleavelander a block away. Beach access is a block away as well. The room was very clean. The beds and AC were comfortable. It was better than expected. The front desk was very helpful in holding our bags because we arrived early. They also had our cars ready the next morning for our 5:30 am departure. If we come back, I would stay here.

Yelp
The Kent Hotel If you want to be on South Beach and centrally located Kent hotel is a good option Its between 11 and 12th St. clean and very friendly staff

Yelp
Clean, modern, well located, very affordable and amazing staff! Great hotel! Wish the shower curtain was little longer though so water didn't have to splash around.

Yelp
Our party booked this hotel ONLY for two reasons - excellent location and affordable prices. The Kent Hotel was built in 1939 with the vintage elevator with a metal slide door (3 people maximum at all time). *** [Parking]: $35 per day for valet parking. There's only one designated valet spot. When someone took the valet spot, I was able to either (1) park at the temporary and adjacent empty spot or (2) drive directly to Pelican Garage Parking (1041 Collins Ave, Miami Beach, FL 33139) and tell the staff that I am from the Kent Hotel. Front desk agent initially told me that expect the whole valet pick-up process to take 30 to 40 minutes, but in actuality I was able to pick my car up at the valet spot in less than 15 minutes before 8 AM each day. KEEP THE RED VALET CUSTOMER CLAIM PAPER STUB AND RED PAPER TAG FOR YOUR CAR KEY! YOU NEED THE PAPER STUB TO PICK YOUR CAR UP! Our party checked in at 11:45 PM and the hotel still charged us $35 parking fee for the last 15 minutes of the day. Valet parking is 24/7 in & out access so it is just a matter of convenience. [Price]: 3 double queen rooms x 4 nights for approximately $2k (daily parking fee not included). [Amenities]: Free Wi-Fi, one computer and printer in the lobby, no complimentary breakfast BUT the next-door Rakija Lounge (restaurant) serves daily breakfast. [Room]: Apparently I had to request cleaning service at the front counter each day and cleaning service is not available on Sunday. The staff also said just toss dirty towels outside of our room (aka leave them out of the front door). Our double queen-size bed room was pretty small. Hair dryer was hidden in the closet and worked on the 1st day, but it stopped working on the following day. Refrigerator was also hidden inside of closet. Shower had low water pressure, but temperature was just right and hot enough. *** Ultra convenient location with (1) Versace Mansion located just a block away (2) World Erotic Art Museum located two blocks away (3) Mango's Tropical Cafe (Miami Beach) located three blocks away, but visitors are giving up certain standardized service that they come to expect from Marriott affiliated hotels. Dealing with valet parking is a slight hassle upon returning to the hotel in late afternoon/night, but it is still a manageable situation and valet parking in the morning is almost never an issue. Not everyone is going to like this hotel and it's just a matter of preference - better location here or better amenities elsewhere?

Yelp
Staff; everyone on shift was so friendly and attentive. They help you meet your needs one way or the other. Rooms: rooms are little small and damp. Bathroom is small and have no ventilation. However, the pillows and bed is comfortable. Huge TV! Remote for the AC which is convenient to control from your bed. Cute elevator with an antique feel. Aaron and Anthony was very friendly. Gave us directions. And suggestions. We liked that they stored out luggages while we went to eat before and after Check in/out. They got the rooms ready way before our check in time which was very convenient and nice of them especially since we were with the kids.

Dwayne H.

Yelp
The hotel itself is ok. The problem I have is with the restaurant. The servers overcharge guests. I was charged 5$for hot tea. Was also charged 60$ for one long Island and burger. If you stay here don't eat here because it will happen to you, smdh

Yelp
This was a super affordable, trendy boutique hotel right on collins. The rooms aren't too big so don't pack too much. We booked through orbitz and received champagne bottle upon checking on for our perks which was a nice surprise. I loved the decor and how close to it proximity to all the fun in South Beach. I would recommend staying here!

Thomas W.

Yelp
I didn't have a problem with this hotel my view from my windo was a brick wall and I like the tv the tvs good but when I wanted to go to dinner with my boss the valet made me late to dinner

Kimberly B.

Yelp
Underrated hotel. Two blocks from the beach and so many shops and restaurants close by. Great customer service, and rooms were clean enough. Definitely would come back

Keri H.

Yelp
Loved our recent stay at The Kent. Reasonably priced. Fabulous location on Collins Ave. Walk to everything. Easy access to ride shares and public transportation. Staff was very friendly & very helpful. when life sends me back to Miami Beach this is where I'll stay. Thanks to everyone.

Teneshia N.

Yelp
Great hotel!! The staff there was super friendly and helpful. Arrived to the Kent hotel early ...about 12pm and the female working the front desk stated that they would hold our luggage and also directed us to the restroom if we needed to change and/or freshen up. We decided to go to the restaurant attached to the hotel for lunch and before we could place our orders, one of my rooms were ready for early check in! The second one was ready shortly after. The rooms were nice and we had views overlooking the restaurant bar & Hookah lounge, which was a vibe!! The rooms were clean and up to date. TVs were very large and the showers were nice! ** Great location, a block over from the beach action. There was a beach store next to the hotel and a mini store directly across the street!! I met about 5 different staff workers and everyone was really nice. I would def go back!!!

Christine W.

Yelp
Front desk is very nice I will not knock them for that . I would not recommend this place for a family because they NEVER HAVE TOWELS AVAILABLE ! We've been here for two or 3 days now begging for towels . Every-time we are told they do not have anymore. How? And just fyi housekeeping isn't 24 hrs so I'm the evening you are on your own .

Misael M.

Yelp
Location was amazing. Just literally a block away from Ocean Drive and the beach. Staff was extremely friendly. Recently renovated, but the bathroom design was a bit off. The shower had no door or curtain, so the water went EVERYWHERE. On top of that, the water pressure was low. We stayed for 3 nights and not once did our room get room service. Not sure if it was due to COVID protocols but that definitely was an inconvenience. Beware the walls are very thin so you hear everything that's going on inside and outside. It was very hard to sleep due to some loud guests and the outside crowd. loud cars/motorcycles and music. I guess those may be the cons of staying on the strip. Overall we had a good experience.

Yelp
When making reservation, I added a note that we would be traveling in from MI & LA and would like a nice room. Arrived at hotel before check-in time, to be greeted by Lana who is the absolute best! We were upgraded to a room with a balcony and given a bottle of champagne by I think the manager, I can't remember her name but very nice and professional lady. Each time we left out and came back in we were always greeted. Lana and Anthony have great hospitality skills. Even the young guy at the door was nice, he would see us walking and immediately get the door for us. The only negative thing is the quality of washcloths. They were very thin and hard. Other than that, this hotel was clean it smelled fresh. The Smart TV was a major plus for my guy. Will definitely stay here again

Yelp
Deceptive pricing practices if you purchase your room on a 3rd party site (like hotels.com)... this hotel charges an extra nightly fee, which if you think about it, should be part of the hotel price... the only reason a hotel would do this is to scam a tourist... (trying to make their online price look lower than it is) Having said that, aside from the checkin time being changed multiple times... finally able to get in 90 minutes later than 4pm checkin time... the room we stayed in was nice... but I won't stay in a place that tries to cheat travellers out of money like this again. I did complain about this fee to the desk worker... I was told the fee is mandatory... I would like a refund of my $60 extra fee

Yelp
The Kent made for a wonderful stay on South Beach. I'm not brand (or location) loyal when it comes South Beach. Whatever is cheap at the time I'm booking my stay is fair game, but the Kent may change my mind on that. It is centrally located. The room was clean and updated AND had two beds which is surprisingly hard to come by for a decent price in Miami. The staff was fantastic and friendly. I have zero complaints. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Arrived on Tuesday around 1:30PM. Lobby was empty and was checked in immediately by José. I stayed in room 105, a double room, and was pleasantly surprised. The room is very modern and clean. While I wasn't thrilled to be staying on the first floor, I was happy that my room was toward the back of the hotel ie further away from Collins Ave where it can get noisy. The room is an average size. I wasn't expecting a pent house suite. There's no screens on the windows. Floors are hardwood and clean. Beds are very comfortable. Front desk has complimentary beach towels. Requesting and receiving extra bath towels took no longer than five minutes. I can tell there's still some renovation being done. Bathroom looks brand new but is missing some things. A vanity would be nice for flat irons, clippers, makeup etc. also, the shower has no place to hang your wash cloth. Only a soap tray. Also, there's no fan for any ventilation. The bathroom is pretty small and the only place with good lighting so don't plan on fixing your hair/makeup with your friends all at once, ladies. There's no spectacular view from this room but that was fine with me. Get a great view by leaving your hotel and going site seeing. The beach is literally one block behind the hotel. Plenty to do. Right outside of my room was actually a parking lot for beach goers I supposed. If you decide to stay in and open your blinds, all you'll see are people and cars coming in and out of the lot. There was music playing, though very faint, up until 11/11:30PM on a Tuesday night. Didn't bother me any. No music on Wednesday night but you could hear other guests talking in their rooms and in the hallway. Noise stopped before midnight. There's little to no noise during the day, fortunately. On Thursday evening, unbeknownst to me, a drunk man came and sat outside of my hotel door. The front desk called to ask if one of my friends were locked out. I said no, that everyone was inside the room. Front desk resolved the situation immediately before I left the room. Later on that evening, either the guests above me were doing CrossFit or just having sex. Either way, it was obnoxious and I thought the bed was going to crash through the ceiling. Luckily, I was headed out for the night. When I got back in around 5AM, the hotel and surrounding areas were quiet. Checked out on Friday at 1PM and had my bags stored away for a couple of hours. This room offers smoking & non smoking rooms. I requested a non smoking room and it did not smell of any smoke upon arrival. Later on, I could smell smoke and marijuana from the other rooms. It's faint and once again, didn't bother me any. Overall, I would stay here again and recommend this hotel. You can't beat the price for the location (remember to have 10% taken off if you stay for three nights or longer). It's very modern and clean, walking distance to plenty of restaurants and shopping stores and probably one of the reasons you came to Miami, the beach.

Carlos R.

Yelp
This hotel is amazing for family and friends thanks to the staff and the mojito Mariana Domingo thanks again see you soon

Rachel M.

Yelp
Extremely deceptive pricing practices. Guy at the front desk is like a used car salesman, claimed this is the "last available room" and "someone else might get it" and says they're constantly booked online which was clearly full of bs. I asked for a late checkout and he refused, said they "almost never allow late checkout", meanwhile there's a sign in the room that says you get a free bottle of champagne and 1 pm checkout if you book online. I asked to extend my stay because he was being deceptive about the late checkout and the jump in price was almost $50. Do not recommend unless you like wasting your money.

Yelp
Where do I begin. Friends/Family and myself decided to stay here for a family members birthday from 23-27. Booked the room. It was a good price. It was seven of us. Got to the hotel, hotel was kind of old but clean. Check in was smooth. Got to the room and rooms where small as hell. Roll your suitcases in one at a time and put them in the closet cause you won't have room. Now this is where it takes a turn for the worst. My family members got stuck in the elevator. Now the kicker is they had to call the fire department themselves to get out. The person at the desk who's name was Greg disappeared. He did not call for help or anything. They were stuck in the elevator for 30 minutes. The fact that they had to call for help themselves was very disappointing. He has no cares in the world. You would think they would accommodate us right? Nope they did not. Not to mention their inspection sticker for the elevators expired on Monday. So our flight got cancelled on Friday. We had already checked out. We had went back to see if would could get a room, mind you on our stay I had booked two rooms. Just needed one now. They were going to charge me 237.12 for another night. Not so bad, but you can't accommodate us for the inconvenience of getting stuck in the elevator. The manager Robin argued us down that the inspection sticker wasn't expired. We have a whole picture of it. All I wanted was a little compensation, but no. Overall the only person helpful was Domingo. He was the best. Don't stay here if you don't plan on getting stuck on the elevator and have to get your own self out. Good Luck!!

Yelp
This has been my fourth stay in this establishment and gonna be the last. I stay for 2 nights from September 30 until October 2nd. On the 2nd night I woke up in the middle of the night because I had been bitten,I caught a bed bug on my leg.then I inspected all over the bed.i saw more bed bugs crawling.then I brought the bed bug down to the from desk.alexis the woman on duty come with me to my room to check, and she witnessed that there are some bed bugs crawling in the bed,she informed me there was no manager on duty .i was given a new room for the night. The next morning the desk clerk on duty was Monica,I again asked for a manager to discuss the problem and possible fixes.i was told that it"wasn't going to happen "and that the manager would contact me,and it's been 10days I have not been contacted.i had to go through the lengthy steps to be assured my clothes and bag did not transfer eggs to my home. Well monica the way you talk so mean and rude

Yelp
We recently stayed here for my birthday weekend in Miami (we came from NJ). Our original room was very basic and standard, but we weren't there to spend too much time inside anyways so it wasn't a big deal. The first night we heard our neighbors having intercourse really loud (the walls on the bottom floor are VERY thin, you can literally here everything from your neighbors). It wasn't a huge enough deal to complain about it so again, whatever. The next day we came back from the beach to find the ceiling leaking, and our bed wet. That was when we went and complained, but luckily they upgraded us to a much nicer room upstairs where the walls were not thin and the space was much bigger, and overall just much better. If you're planning to stay here, DO NOT go for the basic room, the upgraded upstairs ones are worth it. It's a nice place to stay considering there's tons of stuff to do nearby, there's great shopping within walking distance, it's right behind the Versace villa and the beach. It's totally worth it. Aside from that, the staff were very accommodating. The lounge downstairs is great and offers a great menu with lots of variety. I am satisfied with my stay here :)

Yelp
I want to hug and high five the manger who is in charge of hiring/training every person that works at The Kent Hotel South Beach, from the housekeepers to the restaurant staff. The hotel is literally two minutes from the beach, awesome location! The room is SUPER CLEAN, I mean... Super clean, the beds are soft, the pillows are soft , the sheets are white and clean! I mean the best deal in south beach! Location+ customer service + hygiene = HAPPINESS!!! My husband told them that it was our honeymoon, and they decorated everything! Flowers, candles, "cake towels", champagne, champagne glass! It was very special! And I had no idea! My husband called them before and they arranged everything, it was such a nice surprise! I'll definitely recommend!

Yelp
THE KENT HOTEL IS THE MOST TRAUMATIZING PLACE TO STAY AT DURING YOUR VACATION!!! Because of the disgusting sewage smell coming from the bathroom and lack of housekeeping service we constantly called the front desk to complain because nothing was being done. After a while the host stopped picking up our calls at all and I was forced to go downstairs in my towel to speak to the host come to find out she muted the phone. There was never a manager on premises to speak to or if there was we were lied to and told there wasn't. The only manager we could get into contact with was a sales manager Edward Nunez and he was not accommodating AT ALL he was very rude and dismissive. He got angry due to the fact we were constantly calling in regards to our issues with our stay. After speaking to him for a while he threw a fit and no longer wanted to talk. The only thing he offered was moving us to a new room. I've spent 2 nights in a room that reeked of sewage and on my last night at 9pm he offers a new room. It made no sense. Another issue we had was the microwave situation there's no microwave in any room so we were told by the hostess to carry out our food to the restaurant NEXT DOOR and ask them and continuously beg the manager to heat it up. After an hour of waiting for a solution or an alternative... We went next door in our bathing suits and trays of food in our hand only to be rejected and told that that's not something the ever allowed. EMBARRASSED. We came back to Kent and asked them to heat up the food for us in their employee microwave and we were told there is no microwave on the premises. Clearly a lie. After TWO HOURS of going back and forth with the host and Edward Nunez the host told us she would heat up the food for us. And Edward told her "no do not heat up their food" At that point I'm hungry angry and embarrassed. I paid good money to stay at this hotel and I literally have to beg and argue for human decency. From day one I've been trying to get into contact with the manager Cynthia Perez and from day one I was told she's not there and cannot be reached by phone. I was so desperate for help I called the city which is Miami Dade 311 to see if they can step in order for the hotel to do what they expected to do... I was told I need to call the police in order to get any type of solution which was still not done because Edward Nunez refused to engage in any conversation. In the mist of all of this happening Cynthia Perez wasn't present. Being told numerous times that she'll be in which 10/18/2019 9am, 9:30am then 10am. Which I didn't understand. Our check time was at 11am of 10/18/2019 due to the fact we were trying to get in contact with higher authorities about our issues we were would told to leave the premises because they no longer wanted to deal with us so we got kick out shamefully after paying $410 to stay at an establishment that they advertise as a hotel knowing very well it's a motel & not only that remember early I stated the the conditions I've stayed in. I've stayed at multiple Airbnb's when traveling and even in my city and I've NEVER had this issue or have been neglected by a host before. There's also a host that goes by the name of Monica before I could even open my mouth to say "Good morning" to her ... she immediately dismissed me. As I did with the previous host I asked to call the manager that should've been on premises that morning which was Cnythia Perez and I was denied. After continuously complaining to her about my concerns and calling 911 she finally calls a manager which was Edward Nunez ... again that wasn't the manager I requested to speak to. Not only did Monica do all of that her & Edward Nunez decided to speak Spanish in regards to my situation which I had no idea what they were saying. I don't mind someone speaking their language to help someone that doesn't speak English but the EEOC has stated that rules requiring employees to speak only English in the workplace violate the law. After everything that happened that morning waiting to speak to the manager, being neglected, discriminated, speaking to Miami Dade 311, calling the police to get help. My friends and I missed our flight to return back home. Our flight was at 11:17am due to the lack of customer service skills & lack of conflict resolution skills of the Kent hotel employees and manager; all 3 of us had to rebook our flight which we had to repay for and because it was last minute the only flight we could've gotten on was a 9:10pm flight getting to NYC at 12:01am so that means we also sat at the airport for 8 hours without showering, brushing our teeth & doing our hair because we were kick out after the conversation in the lobby. P.S. My room was 203 the booking was under the name of Jahnique C.

Yelp
Location: literally in the heart of South Beach. Walking or 5min Uber ride to Beach, great restaurants, shopping at Lincoln Mall, clubs, or just walking up and down Ocean. Price: we stayed 4 days / 3 nights (Friday thru Monday) and after tax we paid around $500. Split two ways for our double queen bed room it was a steal. Service: the front desk crew and buss men were great! Chris was awesome!!!! He gave us tips on all the non-touristy nightclubs we could check out (which we did!). The cleaning ladies weren't very friendly and/or didn't speak English too well but if you're creative you will figure it out and get what you need. Room: we stayed in room 317. The entire 3rd floor is renovated and the first floor is not. So ask for the 3rd floor! The room was a decent size and the bathroom was a bit cramped. However, the shower itself was a nice size. The walls are a bit thin but guests on our floor (like us) we're out most of the time so no noise issues. The room had a sorta moldly smell to it (hence the decrease in a star). Nothing overbearing just a hint of something that we went nose blind to after 20mins of entering the room. Bed was ok, tv was a decent size, they have Direct TV so the programming froze every now and then but no biggie. Food: the Limetree restaurant is attached to the hotel and they do room service for The Kent. The food was actually pretty good and the service was fast (the food always came up hot). Like all things South Beach the gratuity was included but since they were pricey (again like all things South Beach) the Room Service was pretty high. Plenty of lower cost food options an Uber ride away. We would definitely stay at The Kent again. Hope this review helps!

Yelp
This is just what I was looking for after being pampered for a week at an all-inclusive resort in the Dominican Republic. NOTHING FANCY! The Kent has many qualities that I liked. 1. Location, Location, Location 2. CD player in the room 3. Big flat screen tv 4. Purple decor!! 5. Mostly helpful front desk 6. Great price 7. Good water pressure in shower The Kent had many qualities that I disliked. 1. Room reeked of URINE if you turned the air conditioner on. (We kept it off.) 2. Small bathroom (all old hotels have them) 3. Low quality painting/maintenance/upkeep (tacky) 4. Questionable looking maids (we refused cleaning service) 5. Poor window seal made for noisy, sleepless nights and mornings I can definitely see myself staying here again, but not before I look for another option with similar location and price.

Yelp
Friendly staff and clean rooms. Basic but very reasonable. Find a parking garage upfront, it can be a little difficult to find one last moment.

Yelp
This hotel was disgusting and I was totally uncomfortable during my entire visit. I would not recommend this place to ANYONE! When I got to our room I went to use the restroom and there was definitely something on the light switch. I think its safe to assume that it was human feces! The shower was also filthy-- There was hair all on the shower curtain. Also, one of our sinks in the bathroom did not work! We got a suite so that we could have two queen size beds but they were definitely full size. The hotel room only had about three lights and two of them were by the door...so it was really dark in our room. We stayed in Miami for 5days and there were pigeons outside our window every morning around 7am. They were making all kinds of noise and made it impossible for us to sleep. The elevator reminded me of a small gas chamber and we were told that it would stop if we overloaded it . LOL. I took the stairs during my stay because I didn't have time to get stuck and pass out in that thing. This place sucks and the only thing that I DID like about that hotel was the black guy who was always there to take our pictures for us when we were on our way out.

It was so clean and fresh absolutely loved staying there. Only issue I had was the valet parking the hotel uses. I left the rental car no problems. Looked around it when I got it back and the back light was broke. Everyone acted like they had no idea and weren't responsible. I blame it on the hotel since the owner of that lot wouldn't cover anything. The hotel choose to use that parking service.

Yelp
Loved everything about this hotel! I got a beautiful corner suite and it was clean and gorgeous. The staff is also super friendly and awesome! Thanks to Monica and Kiera! Both amazing!

Yelp
For my last night in Miami I checked into this hotel. Chris working the front desk was extremely accommodating and professional. Check in was at 4 but he managed to get my room ready by 1:15. Room was very clean and newly renovated. Patio outside is gorgeous and cozy. Oh and at night the building lights up in green. 5 minute walk from South Beach and all restaurants. I loved staying there and will stay again next time I visit Miami!

Yelp
The check-in went very smoothly. The porter is deaf but very helpful. The front counter seemed to changed quite frequently but was very helpful. Check-in isn't until 4:00pm.

Yelp
The best thing about this hotel was the location - close to the beach. The room seemed nice but our cold water stopped working halfway through our one night stay. The concierge offered to comp my stay which I appreciated and handed me a receipt. It took almost two months to get my refund. They never processed it and I called and emailed multiple times after my stay to no response. It wasn't until I contacted the booking site and asked them to contact the Kent for the refund that I swiftly received the credit they promised me. I would never go back or recommend to anyone.

Yelp
Pros: Good location, close to the strip. Cons: No pool, rooms are small and there are no drawers, you essentially need to live out of your suitcase. The crowd is what you would expect for a mid priced hotel close to a prime location. Housekeeping comes in when they can. Wouldn't recommend for families

Yelp
The moment I walked into the Kent Hotel, the guy at the front desk said, "Did you hit my car?" No, "Welcome to the Kent Hotel." I don't know why he would accuse me of hitting his car. The front desk seems like they need re-training. I have stayed in a lot of hotels all over the world and the Kent, despite being a cheap hotel, does not even meet basic standards of conduct. The hotel room is also close to a restaraunt and the annoying loud music is a huge problem and makes it difficult to relax in the room. I do not recommend staying here at all. It's terrible.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I subsequently ended up staying at The Kent Hotel, after an awful stay at their sister hotel, 'Colony Hotel', last February (see my review for Colony). We had such an unpleasant stay, they offered us to come back and stay with their friends and family discount. I loathed the Colony so much that I said I wouldn't go back, even with the discount. That's when they informed us about their sister hotel, The Kent. We, on whim, decided to book a three night stay, at the beginning of this month. We went in blind eyed, and crossed our fingers that it would look nothing like the Colony Hotel. When we arrived on Saturday, 2/8, we were very pleasantly surprised. Located on Collins at 11th, it's just a block from the beach. In my opinion, this is better than staying on Ocean and getting hassled by the hostesses outside all of the hotel restaurants, that try to shove a menu in your face every time you stroll by. We were greeted by a very friendly, and funny, man. He finished checking in the couple ahead of us and got us settled within minutes. Our room was AWESOME! It was on the second floor in the front left corner, overlooking the bar & patio restaurant below, and Collins Ave. The room was the perfect size. It wasn't cramped or tight, like the Colony. We had a huge, very comfortable, king size bed (I now need one this large at home). The windows stretched across the entire front of our room overlooking Collins, and then some continued on the side. The large closet when you walked in was perfect for getting your suitcases put away and everything hung up, without cluttering the rest of the room. The bathroom was very clean, and evidently newly remodeled. The tile, fixtures, and shower all looked brand new. I am very picky when staying at hotels and showering anywhere but my own house, but I felt very comfortable here, due to the cleanliness. For people who complain about noise, this wouldn't be a good location for you. The downstairs patio bar had music bumpin until like, 2AM. We didn't mind at all and it didn't bother us. We are in South Beach, for god sake. If you are looking for rest and relaxation, find another city! We actually went back to our room one day after the beach, and napped from about 7-11pm, before going out, and slept right through the noise. In the bathroom it was a little louder, but once again didn't bother us at all. It actually motivated me to get up from my nap and get ready to go out, ha. We had a wonderful and enjoyable stay at the Kent. All of the members of the staff that we encountered were friendly and accommodating. I would absolutely stay here again and/or recommend it to anyone traveling to South Beach.

Yelp
4.75 stars to be exact. My husband and I took two separate mini-vacations to SoBe this past month and chose The Kent Hotel on both occasions. For the location, value and cleanliness of the Kent, you really can't go wrong. The Good: Great location (Near shore and stores. Perfect.) Comfortable beds Working air conditioner on both stays Clean bathrooms and basic amenities Working flat screen television/DVD players Free wi-fi Friendly staff (Props to Melissa!) Cozy lobby Well-behaved dogs allowed! The Meh: Parking next door is steep. $25 In/Out privileges adds up. Can be noisy on the weekends, but what do expect? It's SoBe! Overall, The Kent Hotel is a great hotel for a weekend or midweek getaway. Book through their site for the best deals.

Yelp
I feel like I spent the night in a nice hostel. It seemed clean but who really knows. Shower was cold and absolutely zero water pressure. They was a window ac unit to keep the room cold. Barely any outlets. Tiny bathroom without a fan. Would not recommend. Paying extra for some place nicer would definitely be worth it.

Yelp
There are certain aspects about this hotel that stand out: - the location is killer :) - the walls and bedsheets were funk-a-delically lavender and the lobby had a very 'mod' chair setup (style, as well as bright & bold colors) - the TV was a flatscreen, plus there was a DVD player and a small stereo in the room (as well as a mini-fridge!) - the elevator was something all on its own (it opened through a small door that you would never have guessed opened up to an elevator) - there was a computer with internet access in the lobby for public use A few complaints: - the water pressure was a bit low when taking a shower - the toilet paper was a bit thin - the trees in the 'ACID JUNGLE LOUNGE' blocked our window and didn't allow much light to get in, so our room always seemed just a TAD darker than it probably should have been Overall, I had a good stay. I'd say this place is a bit above average. And it wasn't overly expensive. Of course, there are nicer hotels in South Beach, but whatever. They'll all cost you an arm and a leg and offer you comparable amenities. Might as well just stay here and save a pretty penny. WOOT!

Yelp
The rooms are impressive!!! The only issue is the bathrooms are small. It would be nice to have a more space in the bathroom. The hotel is on Collins Ave only a block away from Ocean Drive. I would definitely recommend staying here.

Yelp
After doing quite a bit of searching for a cheap hotel along Collins/Sobe - I am actually very happy with the Kent! The staff was helpful and attentive. The rooms were small and simple, but clean and with a flat screen tv and iHome alarm. I didn't notice a lot of noise in the hallway or noise at night and overall, I found it a great room for the price! I also LOVED the location! It was smack dab in the middle of everything and easy to walk to everything else. The only thing that I can possibly complain about is that in the night, the toilet made this strange squealing sound. I recorded it because it was sooo strange and brought it down to the front desk. They were understanding and said they'd take 15% off my tab (which, though booked through expedia was much harder to do). I haven't checked my bill yet, but we'll assume it was done. Even if it wasn't, they were at least attentive and tried to tackle the actual problem quickly.

Yelp
Return to the Kent 2012? Let's get it! Gone are the lavender walls that I loved so much, but I was happy to see that the Kent looks much sleeker and much more modern. Luckily for our group ( 3 girls), the amazing front desk attendant upgraded our room to a suite! Not only was there a HUGE bed, but there was a nice couch and chaise. (Great space for fitting a bigger group, if needed, ya know?) Room amenities were great! There was a HUGE tv (like a guy's dream come true), microwave, fridge, mini table and a fabulous, updated shower! Oh, and an ABUNDANCE of mirrors. Like, there was never a time when the three of us were fighting for space by the mirror. My only problem was that the a/c seemed to not be blasting air that well, but whatevs. The location is the absolute best! The proximity to the beach, stores and restaurants is awesome (and a great way to save on ridiculous cab fare!). We were lucky to get a great rate (thanks Annabelle C.), so book way ahead of time as rooms are hard to come by! Love the updated look, Kent Hotel! Catch you next time I'm in Miami!

Yelp
For the Kent to be such a beautiful it is such a shame the Management doesn't have better bedside manners. I wouldn't recommend anyone stay here, or the sister hotel The Colony. I started off at the Colony which is just simply false advertisement. The place is old and dilapidated it seems more like a hostel than a hotel by the water in Miami. If it was an option for negative stars I'd give these hotels -5. I asked for a return on my money after 10 minutes of being in the room. So the owner was called and she persuaded me to pay the Kent a visit. I was very impressed seeing that it's the total opposite from the Colony. I was told that the reservation was being transferred from colony to Kent. In actuality I was charged for five days from both hotels. I'm not sure whether your in the financial position or not wants to be double charged. I for one don't have an extra 700 dollars to shell out on my vacation for which I can't get back until I get home. Now I'm trying to get some manager to reach out to me and everyone is avoiding my cries for help. I was supposed to get a phone call allegedly at 8am which I never got. Then I go down stairs to the concierge, and I was given a email to reach out the the management. I'm a manager and that's not the kind on customer service I was trained to give. I just can't put into words the imposition financially and how frustrating this whole experience has been. Thank you for the birthday trip from hell great job!!!

Yelp
HAHAHA...Great memories at this place. The colors we're very vibrant. The patio was tacky. The rooms we're small and the bathroom was even smaller. Two beds to a room unless you get the suite. Staff was ok...nothing to brag about. The location is great and near a lot of cool places.

Yelp
Beautiful room [room #110, first floor at the faaaar end of the hall], our only views were of the alley]. Excellent location. Friendly staff. My only complaint is there is NO WHERE to charge my devices ... EXCEPT in the bathroom --- right above the toilet! No bueno! We even had to iron in the bathroom!
