We stopped here as part of our tour. What an interesting little village. I was impressed with how many buildings had been built to show what a bog village would have looked like. There are a couple of Irish wolfhounds onsite and they are massive dogs, more like small ponies!

We were in Ireland for a week and travelling round the Kerry Circle. When we found this wonderful place. The smell, the exhibitions. The horses. The donkey and the wolfhound were all great. Good history lesson in peat over the last 100 years and beyond.

Had an amazing time with My Ireland Tours. My husband and I really enjoyed the place, loved the dogs, the donkey, the horses, goats and the chicken. The Baileys hot chocolate was to die for.

Very interesting place, showing such a simpler way of living even with things like window tax! Daylight robbery! Irish wolfhounds were lovely. And the smell of turf burning added to the experience. Well presented. Thank you!

I found it interesting... it's a small place and I expected it to be bigger but all very interesting and informative to see how they lived and worked in the past and how much they suffered 😢 The wolfhounds are so lovely 😍

What a fun place to stop! We got to meet the owner, John his daughter Caterina and son Tim who were all on site working and talking to customers. The history of this place is amazing. Definitely worth the stop!

Quick stop to learn about the importance of bogs and harvesting for fuel.
This museum takes you back in time and gives you an idea of what life was like back then!
Great stop and highly educational!’

Fun to see period village and Irish wolfhounds! Buy Irish coffee in The Red Fox pub attached to the village. Best example of good Irish coffee!!!

Yelp
Tourist trap. A bunch of random trash, all the "informational" signage is trying to get you to buy a book they sell in the gift shop, not interesting or educational.

Yelp
This museum is located right next to the Red Fox Bar (same parking lot) Price to the village is 5 euros, but mine was included with my tour. Grab a booklet on your way in to explain the different cottages and history. They say this is what life in the 19th century of an Irish village looks like. From the thatched cottages, fully furnished with antiques to the rural farm equipment throughout the village.
Interesting to see the Kerry Bog Ponies and the super tall Irish Wolfhounds. These were very popular with all the visitors.
Overall this place was fine to walk through and see how life was back in the day but after the visit you get a discount coupon for a hot Irish coffee at the Red Fox Bar... that's where the fun is!

Yelp
Charges $6 to enter. We walked through in less than 5 minutes. Waste of money. Pass this one by.

Yelp
5 euros for this dinky thing? NOPE. Even that's too much. Skip it - especially if a tour bus dumps you off here for only 30min. There's a much larger village on the grounds of Bunratty Castle. The only thing it doesn't have is an original abandoned stone house, but there's (sadly) plenty of "famine villages" throughout the countryside.

Yelp
I would really rate this at 3.5 stars, if that were available. It's worth visiting, and the entrance price isn't all that much. I loved seeing the huge Irish wolfhounds and the bog ponies. There was a nicely painted gypsy wagon/home as well as several dwellings. This is a self-guided tour with a pamphlet that has colored photos of each dwelling, and an informative description.

Yelp
This place was fascinating! It was our first trip to Ireland, and one of the first stops on our Ring of Kerry tour. My husband and I learned a lot and were impressed by the history and detail provided for a self-guided tour. He of course was especially interested in the wolf hounds. We also loved stopping at the little bar next door for a hot Irish coffee, easily and by far the BEST Irish coffee I have ever had, including others we tried in Ireland itself! Worth a stop for sure!

Yelp
The little village had two nice Irish Wolfhounds who were gentle giants. There were a number of cottage replicas of dwellings and an old forge. The Kerry Bog Ponies were cute but not very friendly.
