The Absolute Best Chicken Wings in NYC

"‘Fitzpatrick’s’ is a dry‑rub, rust‑colored wing that highlights succulent dark meat with a crisp exterior and a dusting of Old Bay, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and cayenne; bold and flavorful without heavy sauce—best with just a dab so the spices cling and the mess is minimal." - The Editors

This place is absolutely fantastic!! From the food to the service you will not be disappointed!! The food is INCREDIBLE and very wallet friendly. It's the perfect hole in the wall date night or out with the friends! The atmosphere is so welcoming! The staff are so nice and the service was fast. :) consider me a regular!

Google
We ordered the Philly Cheese Steak Fries, Irish Chicken Soup, Parmesean Broccoli, and Mac & Cheese. EVERY SINGLE ITEM tasted fantastic!! And to top it all off, the prices were extremely reasonable, the staff were very helpful and friendly, the atmosphere was cozy, and the food hit just the right spot. Stop reading this review and come eat here, you won't regret it!

Went here for dessert and drinks. Its a timy little pub. The service was good. The drinks were good. The dessert was great. The atmosphere was just a little off the night we went cant put our finger on it. The people were weird the lady next to us kept putting her legs up on the bench and scratching herself next to us it was just eewww. Lol im sure other times it has to be a lot better!

I had probably the worst experience EVER yesterday at this establishment. Server took 10 minutes to get us all seated after our 40 minute wait (didn’t even wipe the table down.) and we proceeded to order drinks and food at the same time. Ordered a beer and soft drinks that took 15 minutes to get to my table, and took over 50 minutes to receive our food. No check ins on our table at to refill our drinks and had to ask for a pitcher to fill our water since no one had ever came to see how we were doing. Also, we didn’t even receive silverware for our meals so we had to wait 15 minutes after we finished our burger to eat our salad since we had absolutely nothing. I understand having a big group is a hassle with service, but our server never even bothered to try with us. The table next to us had slightly quicker service, but still took a long time and received a 50% discount on their meal and had an apologetic server who obviously cared and knew they had a poor experience. We expressed our disappointment with our service and were only given a 5% discount (with our 20% automatic gratuity tacked on so she took .80 cents off) and proceeded to give us attitude, roll her eyes, and scoff when she ran our cards. the worst service that I could have ever received, and did not even receive an apology from the server or manager. Having worked in the food service industry, I understand times can be busy and difficult, but I at least used to apologize and try to help the customer. I would NEVER come back to this establishment if they continue to have employees with the same attitudes as our server had.

Google
Absolutely love this gem! I had a taste of the Buffalo Chicken Fries, Fish and Chips, and their Mac and Cheese; all were delicious! In fact, everything on their menu looked delicious. They serve specialty cocktails plus all the mainstream beers also if you're into that sort of thing. A must-go while in Phoenix and plan to revisit soon. The service was excellent also!

Google
Downtown Phoenix! Their kitchen stays open until around 10:30 pm, and the menu goes beyond basic pub fare. I love starting with the Bavarian pretzel or mussels, followed by hearty dishes like pork belly sliders, fish & chips, or loaded fries. The food always arrives fresh, well-seasoned, and full of flavor. Service is friendly and relaxed, with knowledgeable staff who make the experience smooth and enjoyable. The atmosphere is cozy but lively, warm wood tones, comfy booths, and a bar that feels welcoming. Whether you're craving solid comfort food or a late bite with good company, this place hits every mark. Highly recommend!

Google
Impressively horrible! Our meal here was inedible. We ordered the ahi tuna salad and chicken wings, and both were shockingly bad. The tuna had zero fish flavor—dry, tasteless, and so old I wondered if it was fake vegan "fish." The chicken wings were just as bad. How do you mess up wings? These were dry, tough, and barely edible—I usually eat every part (skin, meat, even soft bones), but I couldn’t even take proper bites. The worst part? The staff clearly knew the food was bad. Our server never asked how our meal was, and when I tried to speak to someone, the bar guy literally ran away after saying he wasn’t a manager. No offer to help, no manager check-in—just avoidance. We were starving and forced ourselves to eat some of it, but we left feeling ripped off. I never send food back, but this was a scam. Do not waste your money.

Boone B.

Google
Highly recommend. It wasn’t too busy during a weeknight so service was good. The fish & chips were probably the best I’ve ever had but the pretzel (with cheese & homemade mustard) is my top recommendation here.

Ginger B.

Yelp
Really fun ambience and all the staff is so friendly! Had the gyro, Mac and cheese, and porkchop, all amazing. Summer cocktails are great and fast service. Worth the price.

Yelp
The best fish and chips in town are at the Kettle Black, hands down! The evening I walked into the Kettle Black was an evening where the pub bustled with activity. Lively chatter filled the room. Families enjoyed their meals along one wall of the pub, while the bartenders worked their way up and down the length of the bar, serving food and drinks to bar patrons. The place was packed, and spirits were high. Once I had seated myself at the bar, I looked over the menu. The Kettle Black offered a good selection of pub food, and I'd come here for dinner after hearing good things about this place through word of mouth. As bar staff started me off with a glass of water, I ordered the fish and chips and the Bavarian pretzel. My food soon arrived piping hot, and I took a bite of the fish first. My first bite was one of surprise! It's not often that I've had fish and chips seasoned with cracked black pepper, and the black pepper really highlighted the dish for me. The fried fish had satisfying crunch and left lingering notes of salt and pepper on my tongue. The tartar sauce was smooth and bright with pickled zing. I enjoyed the comforting salted starchiness of the fries, and the tartness of the freshly cut coleslaw rounded out the dish nicely. The Bavarian pretzel was another winner. Luxurious and buttery, sprinkled with salt, this pretzel was a pleaser. Whether I paired each bite of pretzel with smooth, soft cheese or sharp, tangy mustard, every mouthful was delicious. Although the dinner rush was in full swing, the bartenders still checked on me during my meal. I really appreciated the attentiveness, and I felt very much at home. My time at the Kettle Black impressed me, and I'm definitely coming back the next time I'm in town.

Yelp
We came by from out of town for an early lunch. I'm on vacation, so felt justified trying a flight. About 2 beers on draft were out, but the 4 i selected were very good. My husband and I split a pretzel, which was deliciously scalding hot with a side of very potent Dijon mustard and white cheese sauce. I ordered a full glass of the hazy Spellbinder and was not disappointed. Hubby got the pork belly mac'n cheese, which I had a few bites of. It was pretty good, the cheese had a subtle sweetness from the pork. We sat outside, which I know staff hated, and ended up swapping an outside table to an outside bar stool in the shade. Food was great. Staff was a little slow on things like refilling hubby's iced tea.

Yelp
Grubhub Delivery Review: The food was made promptly and it was delivered earlier than anticipated- which was great! I opted for the Pork Belly Sliders (because it seemed like one of the more popular item per Yelp) and the Citrus Chicken Salad. The pork belly sliders were good (slightly fatty) and I wish there was a little bit more cabbage slaw or freshness to combat the fattiness of the protein- the brioche bun was toasted beautifully. The salad looked amazing but unfortunately, it tasted slightly off and I found a hair in it so I tossed it. Grubhub did say they'll offer a credit.

Yelp
We went to lunch at the Ke ttle Black and it was awesome! Special thanks to Daquan for amazing service and helping us out on a busy lunch day! I had the bacon and beet salad with chicken and it was delicious! All the salads and burgers looked especially appealing! The cool and welcoming interior was very enjoyable on this 110 degrees day! We had a great time!!! I highly recommend the kettle black for lunch or dinner!

Yelp
Recommend: Not really. Why? because what they excel at is spirits - I suppose. For food, skip it. It just takes too long. Off the top, this is an incredibly and beautifully designed 'pub', very reminiscent of Europe's pub designs and most noticeably, the dark, rich wooded, built-ins from the bar to the bench seating and surrounding design ambiance is VERY well done for a European decor! We were there on Saturday evening, not more than 50% full and to get a service attendant took around 5-7 minutes and when asked for the on tap beverages, the attendant pointed his pen to a chalked out board about 15 feet away... Couldn't read them so we skipped the spirits... Food was unexpectedly thin on choices, however, extremely overpriced to be honest. We ordered a pretzel, fish and chips and wings. We received those 3 items - 35 minutes later. Wow. 35 minutes later... I hate to say that but even for a pub, for fish and (heavily breaded) chips, a pretzel and wings, SHOULDN'T COST $65.00, especially with no alcoholic drinks... Is this 'Phoenix 2025??' likely, but at the price restaurants are gouging out customers like this, it's a negative trend, sadly, and one I'm not appreciative of. Prices are at an all time high and it's unwelcoming and these are LOCAL products too! But, the most unfortunate thing during our stay was that a party member lost their debit card - in the restaurant and we left, never being able to locate it from when the bill was paid. We even called the next day, and it still wasn't found. This happens, cards can be replaced but it was an icing to the cake if you will... Summary: KUDOS to the interior design, but food pricing, lack of seeing a beverage menu, scant eating choices and lethargic service; It's not on my recommended list unfortunately. The Waiting Attendant was polite, and we left a gracious tip; but if you would prefer a European themed pub; I'd recommend elsewhere.

Yelp
Love this spot! It has the look and feel of an Irish Pub in Dublin's Temple Bar district! Stopped by here with some friends celebrating a bday and loved this spot. The service was great! And they have non-alcoholic Guinness which is hard to come by. On a scale of 1 - 10, I'd hit it again and again, just for the Dublin vibes!

Yelp
Stopped for happy hour. The cheese steak fries and pretzel with cheese & mustard were fantastic. Will definitely be back.
google avatar

Smita N.

Yelp
A friendly Irish pub nestled in the heart of Downtown Phoenix, just a short walk from the Orpheum theater. Great happy hour drinks and welcoming staff. Parking is a bit hard to come by, and some meters only let you stay for 15 minutes.

Yelp
Stopped in before a Suns game. Our friends suggested the place so we met them there. It' was at 90% capacity which should be the norm on game nights. The crowd was loud as it appeared were geared up for fun. The service was blah! We ordered and waited. After 30 minutes in our friends started explaining that they never waited this long for an order. Another 15 minutes went by and finally was served. I ordered gyro- fries, simply fries with lamb meat on them. Nothing at the table was complicated. There was no follow up. We finished and I waved down our server and asked for the check. I wouldn't try it again.

Yelp
This was a pretty fun spot to pop in for a drink. The Kettle Black has a good selection of beers on tap and classic cocktails too. We found the end of a long table to sit at. It also seemed that the restaurant/bar had low and high tables as well as its bar seating. It seems like you can find a table that's right for you here. The service was pretty responsive and helpful. We got our drinks pretty soon after ordering and our bill shortly after asking for it. We would come back here!

Yelp
Stopped in here for lunch on a weekday with a coworker... There were 2 servers working the dining room and service was very slow... seemed like it took forever for us to be greeted and then each step of the way it took a long time for food, etc. The items we ordered were really good though. Their pretzel is soft and tasty. Their chicken club sandwich was great and the cole slaw that came with it was nice too. The venue resembles a dive, all the way to the restrooms. Overall, it was ok... not that special.

Yelp
4.4/5: I ordered the fish n chips, muscles, pretzels and the crab cakes. The fish n chips were absolutely amazing. Top best I have ever had. Seasoned and lightly battered. The muscles and pretzels were great as well. Crab cakes were my least least favorite. Way too dense and too fishy. Service was not quite on the spot. Could have been because they were quite busy. Overall, great establishment and good food.

Yelp
I have been wanting to try this place for a while, but it's in downtown Phoenix. Since hubby & I were both off work today, we took the opportunity. We had dinner here tonight. We left earlier than usual for dinner since it's 40 minutes away for us. There is only street parking, but we were able to find a spot not too far away. We did have to feed the meter though. The place is smaller than I thought it would be. It looks like an Irish pub. The lights are low. The booths have tall backs, and provide good privacy. We arrived at 4:48. It was seat yourself. We found a booth easily. It took a little while for our server to come over. She said she would bring us waters & took our drink order. We ordered a beer & Titos & cranberry juice. There were several things we wanted to try. We ordered the pretzel & crab cakes. I had them put the wasabi Mayo & red peppers on the side since I don't like them. The pretzel was really good. It was soft. The cheese was excellent! I could have eaten it with a spoon it was so good. The crab cakes were good. They weren't filled with filler. They are a little small for the price In my opinion. Hubby ordered the Ruben sandwich and fries. I ordered the fish sliders and fries. Fries are not included even with the sandwiches. Hubby liked the Ruben. He said it was good, but could have had more sauerkraut & dressing. They were not skimpy on the meat. The fish sliders were good. They do not come with cheese. I had seen the pictures in the reviews & thought they came with cheese. I asked for regular tauter sauce because I don't like spicy. Our server forgot the malt vinegar, but I just did without it. We also had to ask for water refills twice before she remembered. In her defense there was only 2 servers. They need another because she was doing the best she could with all the tables she had. All in all, we liked it. I'm not sure how often we will return since it takes us 40 minutes to get there, but it's not off the table. I would like to try their Mac n cheese.

Yelp
Stopped here prior to a concert at Symphony Hall. The table orders included: Bavarian pretzel - large and delicious. The beer cheese isn't my favorite The grilled chicken salad was very good. Fish and chips delicious Kids ordered the chicken sandwich but the chicken was too tough to even eat.
google avatar

Yelp
Service, food, ambiance all AMAZING! I felt Like I was out of the country somewhere having the best fish and chips and cider. The pretzel was THE BEST PRETZEL IVE EVER HAD
google avatar

Emily S.

Yelp
Great service and drinks! The Southwest Chicken wrap was tasty, too! Great spot to hang out and cool off!
google avatar

Kathy O.

Yelp
Great Food The food here was amazing! I ordered the pretzel which was crunchy on the outside while staying so soft on the inside. I love the cheese dip. I also had the fish and chips. Everything was great! It had a large portion too. The only thing I can say negative was the staff, while friendly, took a while to take our order. Once the order was in, the food did come quick. We are planning to visit the restaurant again before we leave.

Kayliegh M.

Yelp
Excellent Place to hang out with a friend The barkeep is super nice even let me charge my dead scooter

Darrion

Yelp
The little boys working at the bar at very rude and unprofessional. I came in for a pick up that I've been waiting over 30 minutes for. I was told they have no idea how long the order would take. I asked if they could check on the status for me, was told no and that I should just cancel the order. Drove 15mins to pick up an order just for them to be disrespectful and tell me how I should do my job.
google avatar

heather c.

Yelp
This is a suprise winner! Superb service, delicious steak frites, great appetizer of hummus and veggies. The crabcakes were good - but not memorable. I'd like to try other menu items - and will definitely be back. Dark pub atmosphere, not fancy, but comfortable!
google avatar

Lexi S.

Yelp
A large part of the rationale for going to The Kettle Black was the name. What's not to love? So, I'm hooked from the beginning. And when you go to pull open their red door it feels like a bonafide English pub complete with Manchester FC endorsements and the mood lighting to boot. It was pretty busy being Friday night, but we were sat immediately and the service was attentive. We ordered the sweet chile glazed green beans, steak frites, pork belly mac and cheese, a draft Six Byrd cider, and a canned Wyder's cider. A theme I noticed with the green beans and mac and cheese was it being oddly sweet. I was hoping the green beans would err on the chile side instead of the sweet side. And while I did see that the pork belly on the mac and cheese was honey sriracha, it became overbearing when it infiltrated the cheese sauce. All around, some pretty decadent food nonetheless.
google avatar

Mish L.

Yelp
So the concept, the flavor, the presentation are all really good just whoever was the cook tonight (8/26/24) overcooked all the protein which left it tough and dry. Our server was great and the ambience was fun. I'll give this place another try, possibly on the weekend to see if the food is better.
google avatar

Nik N.

Yelp
Best pretzel you'll ever eat. I promise. Wasn't a fan of the sliders nor the crab cakes. Parking was a bear. The service was pretty okay.
google avatar

Nicole G.

Yelp
Every experience I have had here has been AMAZING. And we have only had drinks here. The John Denver and the Benny drinks are beyond the best. The bartenders there are incredible. Very friendly and great atmosphere. We will for sure be back.
google avatar

Brenna D.

Yelp
Went for lunch with a friend. Service at the bar was pleasant but food took a minute. It was definitely delicious when it came out though. My burger was gigantic and very good! Would def go back for a drink and dinner.
google avatar

Madison W.

Yelp
Great vibes, great beer, great food. We love the pretzel and beer cheese! I usually go for local, craft beer and was pleasantly surprised to find my favorite cider company featured (Six Byrd). Service leaves a little to be desired - everyone has that "too busy for you" vibe, but in all fairness they're busy every time we've come in. Would love to see a bit more friendliness in the staff.
google avatar

Rosie B.

Yelp
I loved the atmosphere and the small setting. Great service. I went with my husband and daughter before returning to the November Nights festival. It's a seat yourself type of place but the servers are very attentive. I ordered their steak Salad, my daughter got the Guinness braised beef short ribs and my hubby ordered the Bavarian pretzel, blt sandwich with a side of Mac and cheese. I liked my salad the steak was cooked to a perfect medium well the veggies were delicious, my husband liked his pretzel and loved the Mac and cheese. My daughter did not like her short ribs. The best part of her meal were the Brussels sprouts, they were so delicious but the spaghetti squash did not have flavor. I will definitely come back for some drinks and their Brussel sprouts. Check them out!

Yelp
One of the worst and most disappointing dining experiences I have had in awhile. My friend and I arrived at 11:30. The place was practically empty. We decided to sit at the bar to ensure we were not forgotten about. I guess we could've sat anywhere... Because we were forgotten about... The bartender would keep disappearing. I had a flag down the server, so we could get our order in. I definitely wouldn't sit at the bar again, if he was on bar duty. I wasn't really that impressed. My friend ordered the fish sliders. She really enjoyed them. My food was cold and not very appetizing. I definitely would not go back.
google avatar

Kathy C.

Yelp
Awesome fish n chips! Everyone enjoyed their meals. Good selection of draft beers. Service a little slow but it's game day.
google avatar

David B.

Yelp
Bartender was nice. Beer list was good. I loved the ingredients of the gyro but the feta overpowered the dish. FYI, I'm not a big fan of feta.
google avatar

Catherine V.

Yelp
Great experience! Food: Everyone LOVED their food and it was very reasonably priced. I got the 1st street burger (SO good). Other members of my party got the pretzel (AMAZING), the Reuben (INCREDIBLE). I highly recommend the pretzel for the table!! Ambience and Service: Had a little bit of a wait (the space is small and we didn't have a reservation so we didn't mind) but we were able to sit at the bar and order drinks. Friendly and quick service. My ONLY piece of feedback is our waitress was not familiar with the drink menu so there was confusion when ordering our drinks at the table. Not a big deal, she might've been new! Will definitely be back!!
google avatar

Paul H.

Yelp
Excellent food here. Love the old school pub feel but don't let that fool you- the meal was top notch. Perfectly cooked filet mignon, generous portion of fries, friendly service. My only issue was it was a little loud and it does feel like you're dining IN a bar.

Ashley W.

Yelp
Stopped by The Kettle Black Kitchen & Pub for happy hour, and it was such a great find! This cozy little pub has a relaxed, welcoming vibe, a cool stamped tin ceiling, and a buzz of lively conversation that makes it feel warm and inviting. The staff was super helpful and made the experience even better. We started with house margaritas (a bit of a panic order)--unfortunately, they were too heavy on the sour for our taste. We quickly switched to beer and wine, which were much better choices. As for the food, the soft pretzel was hands down one of the best I've ever had. Topped with garlic butter (with actual chunks of garlic!) and served with a delicious cheese sauce and mustard, it was absolutely amazing. We also had the Philly steak fries from the happy hour menu, which were tasty and satisfying. Overall, a great little happy hour spot. Would definitely come back--especially for that damn pretzel!
google avatar

Michel W.

Yelp
The only complaint we had was the beer could be colder, but overall this is a great place to hang out, drink beer, great food, and number one service sitting at the bar. Will have to try this place again when in PHX. Right near the Chase Stadium with close parking. It would have gotten 5 if the bathrooms were a little cleaner, but it is a bar and sometimes it needs a little attention such as emptying the trash in there for paper towels and a little paint goes a long ways. Overall, we will be back again to hopefully give it a 5 star review. Enjoyed our time here. Bartenders are number one!!
google avatar

Yelp
I was looking for a restaurant near the Phoenix Symphony that would accommodate 10 of us for dinner. I came up with The Kettle Black Kitchen. Luckily , we made a reservation and were able get seated ( 5:30 ) with enough time to make a 7:30 showtime on a Saturday night. This place was packed. It was very noisy. Sometimes you have to make the best of loud situation. With 10 people , you're going to wait for food service and food. There were 4 orders of Fish and Chips ( I was one of them), 2 orders of the Black Bean burger , 2 orders of the Ruben sandwhich, and 2 orders of a Cheese burger. All of the size of the fish ( Cod) were massive. Instead of several small pieces of fish, you receive 1humongous piece ( the size of a small lobster). The fish is coated heavily with batter. Very tasty but a little too much. The fries were crispy and fresh. Everyone enjoyed there meal. Prices for the dinner are pretty reasonable. I would definitely come back with my wife at an off hour time and day where the noise level would be more tolerable.

Yelp
I am a huge fan of pretzels buns and they have them here!! I've only tried the burgers and they are juicy and delicious! The drinks have minimal ingredients, which is amazing, but I sometimes don't like to taste the alcohol! The service is a little hit or miss, the servers overall have been nice and accommodating! This is a small cozy pub with a beautiful bar area!

Yelp
My friend brought me here along with my other 2 girlfriends, the place was live & poppin. A Huge conference was happening downtown and so this place was packed but we were seated immediately. Our waiter Zach was phenomenal, he was so lively and cool, super chill and just had such a good vibe. This place is a pub so it had your typical dimmed lights, tables & booths, a nice bar with a variety of drinks and pretty good space. I had the kettle wings, I chose the Sweet Chile and well, presentation wise, they looked great and big too, very meaty which was appetizing. Unfortunately the sauce wasn't spicy at all, most sweet chilly sauces I've tried in the past have a small kick to it, but this one was simply sweet. Im the kinda girl that likes her wings saucy, the more drip, the better, and these felt short, the sauce was simply on the top, so underneath the rest of the wings, the sauce barely infiltrated. The wings themselves (without the sauce) didn't have much flavor and were not crispy at all, they were soft, I prefer a little crunch here and there. It came with a few pieces of celery and some ranch on the side. The ranch was too watery and also not very tasty. I ate most of my wings cuz ya girl was starving, but these were def not my fav wings and probably wouldn't get them again. I would def come back to this place because The ambiance is nice, a place to hang after work or simply have a chill evening. To me, it was all in the interaction with the waiter with his very contagious energy. The burgers my friends ordered, looked promising so I would try that next. The prices seem fair and I'd give them another change and try a diff plate this time.

Yelp
Meh, was looking forward to the 1st street burger which had lots of raving reviews. I found it to be very average overall. The onion ring is soggy from grease, but the problem was the burger was very dry even though it was cooked properly medium rare. It just didn't have a lot of flavor, definitely a burger I would not give a second thought about afterwards. The beer was a bit pricey for a basic Guinness and they're passing on a credit card fee to you as well. I would skip this place if looking for good food and drinks, plenty options nearby

Michael B.

Yelp
Normally I would give this place 4 stars but not today. Today 6/8/25 is the last day of Fan Fusion (Comicon), which I did not attend. This place is normally open on Sundays. The website lists today by date as a having happy hour that starts at 4:00. Today however they have a limited menu, no happy hour, and surge pricing. Have a nice day, thanks for coming!

Crissy W.

Yelp
Great place for happy hour. My husband and I walked in and there was a booth available on a Saturday night at around 5:30 PM. We had the Philly cheesesteak fries, the Bavarian pretzel, and the Ahi salad. Everything was good but thr salad was just OK and needed more dressing. The service was great and if we needed help any of the waiters were able to help us. The ambience was very fun and lively. Prices were very reasonable.

Yelp
Love it here. Always fun and food is quite good! Have had wings... steak fries....burgers.... Everything is fresh. Service is fast... and drinks are strong!! What more can you ask for??? Location is great as the people watching is always interesting. I always come here when I'm downtown for an event. Sporting it concert. Check it out.

Yelp
I'm in town for work and went here for dinner the other day, had an old fashioned and a Reuben, both were made well and tasted great.

Yelp
Had the best lunch here! I ordered the beet and bacon salad with salmon and my husband got the turkey club. We let them know we were in a rush and service was swift and nice! The salmon had an amazing crust without being overcooked and the salad itself was great! I tried my husband's turkey club and it was also excellent. I would return for dinner/drinks on a longer trip to Phoenix.

Yelp
Took my friend here for her birthday and started with Bread Pudding to start off her birthday right!!! It was fantastic! The cream sauce and Carmel were perfection Next we shared the crab cakes which I highly recommend. Then she ordered the Fish and Chips that were perfectly fried flaky but good! I ordered the Pork BellyMac n Cheese! The sriracha honey glaze added the sweet and heat I loved it!!! To go we ordered the New York Cheesecake with Carmel and Pecan topping!

Yelp
A dimly lit pub that has various bar foods. The service was ok; nothing outstanding but not bad either. The food was pretty bad. I tried the fish and chips, 1st Street burger with no raw onions, and the bacon onion burger. The fish was much too salty but had a good fry and nice texture. The fries overall was very greasy and soggy. The fries get worse as they get colder and doesn't hold up well. The bacon onion burger has a nice flavor but the patties on both burgers are not up to par. They're way too dry, overcooked, and doesn't hold it's texture very well. The 1st Street burger had onion rings but they made onion rings out of the skin (?). The onion rings are inedible. It's impossible to chew through the onion skin, and it's plasticy and unpleasant to eat. The aioli on the burger is also very fatty and doesn't have enough flavor. Overall definitely not worth the $19 per burger + fries price. Similar price for the fish and chips. Everything was subpar while being expensive.

Yelp
Food was really good! Didn't get a picture of everything, but I had the California chicken club sandwich with pasta salad, it was so good! Husband had the 1st street burger & fries, the onion ring was probably my favorite part of the burger. Also tried the fish & chips & it was also really good, not too fishy.

Yelp
This place must be getting the 4+ star rating from the drinks. It's not because of the food. But then again I doubt most guests aren't coming here for the food alone. Service is adequate. Got the job done nothing above and beyond. I'm not expecting that. Food, barely average. I can't give a fair rating on ambience so I'll leave that out. Am I returning? Probably not but I wonder how this place got such a high rating on yelp. Initially I gave this a 1 star rating but as I'm finishing up this review I feel bad so 2 stars because of guilt not because they deserve it.

Yelp
Traveling through downtown Phoenix & we need a nice spot to grab a bite. We couldn't be happier to stumble upon Kettle Black Kitchen! We strated off with the Philly Cheesesteak Fries. At first, I was like, "Oh boy, novelty overload"! But negative! These were so tasty I could dream about them almost anytime I think of Arizona! My husband got a burger & I got a patty melt version. Both were well put together & did not disappoint in flavor. My daughter got the fish & chips. Nice huge portion & perfectly breaded. Service was warm & welcoming. Our glasses were never empty, and our dishes were picked up quickly after finishing them off. The location is quaint & cozy. Perfect from escaping the busy everyday life of the downtown area.
