We had good service throughout our stay and the location and amenities are great. Very kid friendly atmosphere with a lot of activities specifically for them. The building as well as furnishings and decor were dated and sometimes even stained or badly worn. Our bedding and towels were perfectly clean, though. Be aware that some of the "oceanfront" rooms see more of the pool than the ocean. That was fine with us because our oceanfront patio room was super convenient to the pool where we spent most of our time. We enjoyed our vacation, but don't expect a truly luxurious experience. I'm reluctantly giving a 5-star for the service, amenities, activities, and what this place could be with some investment in renovation.

The room on first floor was nice at the first glance. But afterward it is so dirty. Especially the floor. My feet were black after walking on after showering. I had to wash them b4 I put my shoes on. Awful. I won’t stay here again. I thought I wld but that grossed me out.

Reservations: TERRIBLE. Was bumped out of the room I booked online well in advance. Encountered rudeness in the many phone calls I had to make (I was overcharged for breakfast by $1000 before the trip even happened and had to call to fix it). Had to specifically ask for breakfast to be comped to make up for being moved to a different room. Like pulling teeth. ||Food: MIXED|Echo Restaurant was great. Food was amazing and staff was wonderful. |Sea Shack was staffed by a younger lady with an attitude that clearly didn’t want to be there. They also served me an $18 meal missing ingredients and including rotten carrots. Pretty awful. ||Cleanliness: NOT GOOD|Live roach was in our hotel room (see picture) and also found fleas on my son after he slept in the pack n play they provided. |Pool area was not picked up and towels and trash were everywhere. ||Overall, I don’t think I’ll stay here again. I’ve been coming for years, but clearly something is very wrong. It’s a shame, especially for the prices they charge.

We booked an ocean view room for a one-night stay and were assigned room 261. It was on the end of the second floor and felt like living in a tunnel. We were moved to room 367, next to the elevator (but quiet) which had a beautiful view. Upper floor rooms (there are 4 floors) in the middle are best.||The furnishings were dated with crack in bathroom sink, grout missing, worn threshold, etc.

Stayed 2 nights on our way to NC. 1) We reserved a balcony and ended up in a 1st floor room. 2) The aged room overlooked a parking lot. 3) The outlets were worn out and the plugs dropped out and wouldn’t work. 4) The bathroom sink dripped the entire time we were there. 5) The refrigerator was missing its shelves, was so loud and annoying we had to shut the armoire it was in. 6) The toilet was the shortest one I’ve ever seen out side of an RV. 7) The floors were really quite filthy, I realized after wearing white socks. 8) Don’t eat at the restaurant, the Belgian waffles $$ were hockey pucks out of a bag and the blueberry muffin wasn’t 7/11 quality. 9) The TV partially worked and the guide was completely useless and incorrect when we asked for a corrected one at the concierge, we were told it was a housekeeping thing. 10) $50.00 for an umbrella on the beach? Overall, the weather was lovely… thank goodness.

Google
GREAT SERVICE !! Huge compliment to GM Jeff Elsener and his team. July 4 weekend my son made reservation through TripAdvisor. Through no fault of theirs the Hotel did not have his reservation bc TripAdvisor screwed up. Jeff’s team not only found room for my son at another hotel and paid for it, they gave him access to their facility as well as some trips to the bar ! Lastly, they gave him certificate for a return stay on them. WOW! Could not ask for more, and they handled the situation like true hospitality pros. This Hotel has earned a loyal customer who looks forward to future trips to St Simonds. Thank you Jeff for saving the day! Brad G-

Really was excited to stay here for our wedding night but it wasn’t the best experience. It started with a lady checking us in who was pretty rude Especially considering we were in our wedding attire you wouldn’t expect that. She rolled her eyes for no reason at all. We also informed the hotel It was our wedding night… we were given toothpaste and a toothbrush as a welcome present. High expectations for 400 at night and I got well below that in value. Finally the last straw was Roaches in the room as we woke up this morning. When we told the front desk, they did not offer any compensation I would hope a manager would reach out after this but if not, we will not ever stay here again.

Google
I stayed here for 3 nights for a conference. The room was a letdown - squeaky bed, outdated, bathroom smelled like old urine and mildew, and the mounted TV was awkward to see from the bed, rough towels and cheap toiletries. The confirmation email said the room would be ready by 4 pm, but upon arrival at 4, I was told it was a 4-6 pm range. The staff at the desk seemed a little unsure how to handle a tax-exempt form that I brought which probably every attendee for the conference would also have. The quality of the room which I paid a nightly fee of $329, was most definitely not worth the money. I will likely be attending the same conference the next few years, but will go elsewhere for a higher caliber and more affordable lodging.

Yelp
We've been coming here for years and recently enjoyed a wonderful stay. Can't wait to return! The only downside are price increases. The staff is wonderful and the food is fresh and delicious. Above all the scenery is stunning.

Yelp
The room we rented was very SMALL. Bathroom was the size of a closet with NO HEAT and very old leaking fixtures. Old louvered swinging doors for the bathroom (I guess so heat might filter in). Terrible TV with shadow over the lower part of screen (which they offered to change out if we had stayed). Elevator didn't work so their staff helped us carry up luggage 3 flights of stairs. We paid for 3 nights in advance via Orbitz. After being very disappointed, we tried to check-out (not even using the room) but King and Prince staff refused to refund ANY of the unused nights saying Orbitz/Expedia was responsible. Orbitz said the hotel was responsible for a refund. We even offered to let them keep one night rent even though we didnt use the room in hopes they would credit / refund the two other nights, but they said no. . Since we didn't cancel within the hotel's policy time-line, we did not get any refund or credits. We left and rented at another hotel. What a waste of money. Lesson learned.... don't pay in advance on Orbitz and don't rent a room that we hadn't seen in advance. Pictures of the guest rooms and bathrooms at King & Prince hotel are very deceiving.

Yelp
King and Prince is a mega all-inclusive resort that caters to families seeking ocean and poolside relaxation. It's a very nice facility in a very nice location albeit a little tired and perhaps in need of a facelift. We attended a wedding there and it could not have been nicer. The food was delicious. The outdoor ambience next to the ocean was simply fantastic.

Sanda M.

Yelp
The place is located right on the beach. The terrace with pools is very nice and fun. Staff is very helpful and pleasant to interact with. The place though lives on its old glory and needs major updating. There is a major disconnect between prices and quality. I would come after the place gets updated.

Yelp
I've stayed in many hotels during my 79 years if life. Europe, New York. Miami, Las Vegas etc. King and Prince ranks top dog on the list. Service, Food, and room quality are excellent.

Yelp
I'm so grateful to have family in this area--the recommended we go for margaritas on the beach, but we stayed for dinner, too. The margaritas were delicious! I ordered a wedge salad and was pleasantly surprised because it wasn't just *any* wedge salad! The pickled onion, candied pecans, and generous amount of Gorgonzola made it memorable. The only thing that made it hard for my family to fully enjoy the experience was the lack of vegan and vegetarian options. There were a few vegetarian items on the dinner menu, but it was difficult for our vegan to find something. Regardless, the view made it well worth it!

Yelp
Ants in bathroom. Disgustingly dirty elevators. Rooms that smelled like mold and mildew. Broken faucets. Just terrible. Would never go back.

Yelp
Great property. Huge with so much to do. It sits right on the sand. The restaurant is superlative! Great menu, Had some of the best redfish ever. A lot of fried seafood, which I don't prefer.the fish and the shrimp were very fresh! Definitely will be back!Echo is the restaurant in the hotel.

Yelp
Initial rating is for customer service since our stay will be coming us. After the reservation was made we received a text asking if there was anything we needed help with. Responding that my husband is a disabled veteran I requested an early checkin so he could acclimate to the hotel and also asked if the room was close to an elevator. Was told No to early checkin in and yes, room was near elevator. Then received an email about a 40% discount on the room. I contacted customer service again requesting an adjustment. Was told no since I had already booked. Then I requested to speak personally to a Manager. I was texted that customer service rep spoke to a manager and was asked to relay another "No" message. Now, how would YOU rate their customer service?

Trevor A.

Yelp
In the past, the King and Prince had a sort of Southern gothic charm--like visiting your grandmother's house if your grandmother had a staff and believed in turndown service. Yes, the rooms were dated, but in a way that whispered, "We fought the good fight in 1952." The staff used to be attentive, the hedges trimmed like a military haircut, and the general ambiance was one of genteel neglect done well. This time? Not so much. It felt like the building had unionized against itself. There was trash in the bushes, which is not unheard of, but usually the bushes win. The toilet bore evidence of what the cleaning lady later described as "an abrasion," though it seemed more like a guest had lost a fight with a burrito. She proceeded to clean it--bare-handed--with what I am confident was a face towel. Not gloves, not a brush, but the kind of towel someone would later use to pat their cheeks dry before brunch. At $325 a night, one does not wish for exfoliation by way of a doo-doo rag. Housekeeping left carts of clean linens in the open air hallway overnight, as if daring the wildlife to start a load. And when they finished scrubbing the toilet with the face towel, they placed that towel--wait for it--on top of the clean linens. Like a cherry on top of a salmonella sundae. It's now less a historic hotel and more the Four Seasons by way of Delta's Concourse C. At this rate, it's the nicest Motel 6 I've ever stayed in--if Motel 6 charged triple and called you "sir."

Yelp
Was hopeful new ownership would at least try to improve this woeful excuse for a hotel. My wife is disabled and uses a walker. She made 2 requests: a handicapped accessible room, and close to the elevator (request made at least 60 days in advance). She arrived to be given room literally farthest from elevator. Not ADA compliant. Sole accommodation is a bathtub railing. No walk in shower. No handrails near toilet. High tub. High bed. Management refuses to offer room more compliant, as 'guaranteed' when registering. Basically, this is a run-down, third rate excuse for a resort that happens to sit on a nice beach. The food sucks. Housekeeping is 3rd world. Stay far away.

Yelp
It's a very romantic setting in the big building and Echo is an exquisite dining experience. Be prepared to pay for it but so lovely. We come every year for a 2-3 night stay and we have a house in Brunswick! So worth it.

Yelp
Great hotel. The staff is amazing and live entertainment in the lobby at night with a hot chocolate was the perfect end to the day!

Donna F.

Yelp
The inside of hotel was very disgusting.! Very expensive but rooms smell dirty! Didn't take shoes off! First night there came back from the pool and bathroom sink was clogged. could not take a shower go to dinner. I had candy bars that night. Had to wait 4 hours before the hotel mechanic fixed it then they didn't want to give me the night free very poor customer service. I couldn't even use the room I will never stay there again. It's sad that a hotel that makes that much money can have dirty floors and the smells were unbelievable! Would not suggest ever! Decor was worn and dingy!

Yelp
We had an awesome time! Patrick and Steve at the bar were awesome!! Highly recommend seeing them at the bar!

Yelp
Over the course of many years, our family visited the King and Prince Hotel on St. Simons Island. We were always impressed (please note the past tense)! Beach wasn't overly crowded, multiple swimming pools, and we were able to rent a family friendly villa with private gated parking. St. Simons itself was and is a good place to vacation, because it isn't entirely tourist driven and the restaurants are great. So we came here year after until the kids were adults, usually staying at The King and Prince. Our daughter, now all grown up with a family of her own, wanted to share this special place with her kids. Thus, we booked a five-night stay in a three-bedroom villa. When we arrived, we were warmly greeted, and the clerk said she had multiple options as the hotel was not particularly busy. I picked a fourth-floor villa, as I remembered that these appear even larger, with vaulted ceilings and a skylight in the living area. Before we unpacked two over-stuffed vehicles, we looked around; noting the worn living room furniture and a naked cable connection for the television, but the youngsters looked glad to be out of the car, so we all decided we could live with any minor issues. Wi-Fi didn't seem to work, but a text from guest services suggested we try an adjacent room's Wi-Fi, and eventually we got intermittent service. There were some cable wires kinda hanging out of the tiles next to the fireplace, and the filter inside the dishwasher looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a long time, so my daughter hand washed some dishes for us to use until we could buy paper plates. We ended up with seven maintenance visits over our visit: 2 clogged sinks, 3 clogged toilets, and a wonky air conditioner which required 3 tries before the issue was resolved. The K&P is following industry norms in doing full housekeeping every three days, however housekeeping staffers take away garbage and provide clean towels daily. That was done, but on day 3 I asked about housekeeping and was told I needed to give 24 hours' notice. And one of the papers I got when checking in did indeed confirm that, so they said we'd get housekeeping the next day. However, when we got back to our villa, housekeeping had come and made the beds, but the sheets were not changed. Nor was any floor maintenance done, and when you have 3 kids tracking in from the pool and beach, plus a few dropped crackers, floor care is necessary. There was a broom (but no dustpan) in our utility room, so my daughter swept the dust and so forth out the door. We didn't get new sheets during our visit. No one checked on toilet paper or offered additional Keurig cups, so hubby walked over and got some from guest services, in nice gift bag. In all of this, I must say that guest services always responded very promptly and courteously. All staff members who spoke English were polite and friendly. But, if you ever avail yourself of this property, be aware that you will have to ask, and ask, and ask. We didn't need a shuttle to the golf course, a tennis court, or room service, but clean floors and a clean kitchen would have been welcome. The word pauper is not really in current use, but when I think of the what the King and Prince used to be and how much they still charge, I can't help but think that this was a poor man's version of luxury. Oh, how a 4K visit can be marred by a broken-down sofa, 7 visits from maintenance, and sweeping one's own floors. But, hey, the pool where I didn't sleep was nice.

Yelp
This is a great beach location but the facility is very tired and needs a major upgrade. For the prices they charge for the rooms I would consider it price gouging. Next time we will look at a VRBO. We have just checked out of the King and Prince after a mediocre weekend stay. We arrived on Friday and staff were welcoming. We ate at the Echo restaurant -sat outside and enjoyed the view. The menu items were typical hotel fare. We decided to return for breakfast since it was an easy safe bet. This was not a great experience-there was a slug in the ice bucket at the service station, I noticed as I went to tell the waiter that there was bird poop on the table - the staff were great and helped to clean up the area. Breakfast is hard to spoil so it was a positive experience since we sat outside and the view compensated for the slug . Our room was very Tired- white paint -a low cost refresher was in evidence on the peeling ceiling; and the furniture. The bathroom had mildew growing around the soap holder and the toilet seat was the wrong shape/size for the base. The hairdryer was also an electrocution waiting to happen- the cord connection to the device was loose due to the end of the dryer being broken. It worked and I survived the experience. I do recommend the pool area - pretty and calming ( except for the couples who insisted on playing competing country music on their speakers just loud enough to be annoying. This being the only hotel on the beach on the Island they should really elevate their facility to match their name- The King and Prince... As it stands it's more like the Prince and the Pauper.

Yelp
Great place to stay. Good food. Be sure to ask if there is an event during your stay, and if your room will be near the loud music that plays into the night.

Yelp
We had lived in St Simons 23 yrs and moved away recently. We were excited to return to SSI and stay at the King and Prince for the first time! When we arrived, we were given our room number, parking instructions and also told there was no water in our room. We thought it odd that we would be assigned a room with no water. We thought we would be flexible knowing we were going to dinner and expecting there would be water upon our return. We checked with the front desk upon returning from dinner and asked if our room had water. The lady at the desk didn't know but made several calls and the answer was "no water". We asked if we could be moved to a room with water. We were re-located into a much smaller room with a smaller bathroom that REALLY needed to be updated. We were happy that we were only there for one night and we have no intention of returning to the King and Prince. We did complete a survey upon request. We rec'd a "canned" response of "sorry you had a bad experience - hope you will give us another chance!" No, we are not fools and no there is no second chance!

Yelp
We have stayed here a few times as we travel back and forth from Tampa to NC for the holidays so I was surprised I hadn't already written a review. Bottom line is this place is top notch. Great staff, great rooms, really good bar and restaurant and all of this while sitting right on the beach looking out at the Atlantic. We were only here for one night and had a room in another building but were hoping to get an upgrade to the main building. To our surprise we had already been upgraded to a room in the main building with a balcony and ocean view! The rooms are well laid out, beds are super comfortable and shower has great pressure and lots of hot water. This night they were having their first ever comedy show. Scored tickets and had a great evening. We plan to start making this our regular stop on our way up to NC and back to Tampa!

Yelp
Our family just returned from an amazing trip to St. Simons Island, GA. Being from Charleston, SC it was such an easy drive for us. We stayed at the King and Prince Resort and we had the best time ever. Besides the amazing food, location, and sunsets, they are a dog friendly hotel. That is such an important thing for us, the dogs are part of our family so being able to enjoy the beach and resort with them was the best. The resort had so many amenities, accommodating staff and did I mention the Sunsets! If your looking for an awesome family friendly resort, look no further than The King and Prince Beach and Golf Resort!

Yelp
Stayed 3 nights in a cabana oceanfront suite for our 45th anniversary. Our stay started great and went downhill from there. We were initially greeted with a complimentary cheese plate and champagne bottle in our room for our anniversary. This was a nice touch and what you would expect from a top-notch resort. After our first day out sightseeing, we returned and found the room only partially serviced. The bed was only partially made up and the sitting room tabletop was not wiped down. We only rec'd one of the two daily complimentary water bottles. Seemed like they were being sloppy with a half-effort. Second day we did not receive any room cleaning at all! We had the do-not-disturb sign out so we could sleep in. The sign was removed by 10:30am. We were then gone all day. Came back and the room was never cleaned. We did not have fresh towels and also never received our daily water bottles. The woman at the front desk had an attitude and said their staff does not come back to check a second time. She said it was my responsibility to call for cleaning. This is terrible service for a 5-star resort. Even Best Western does a better job. There is no turn-down service or other perks that are standard at other high-end resorts charging over $500 a night. Extremely disappointed. The pool attendant handing out towels was always buried in his phone and didn't even bother to look up at you. He was grumpy and never smiled or greeted anyone with a friendly hello or welcome. Fortunately, the pool bar attendants were much nicer. The prepaid breakfast allows you to order off the menu at the onsite restaurant, Echo, which provides a nice variety of items. The food was pretty good. But given the high prices, poor room service and poor attitude of some of the staff, we won't be coming back. There are better options at other nearby islands.

Yelp
The staff here is the absolute best. The sunrise and beach view, sleeping with the windows open, wonderful cocktails at the pool all that and the food in the restraunt is first rate! Thank you to all at King and Prince for making our weekend amazing!

Yelp
AWFUL brunch experience. Skip this place if you're looking for good food or good service. My family attended the thanksgiving brunch at the King & Prince resort restaurant. We paid $80 per person for one of the worst dining experiences of our life. If you're looking for upscale dining and accommodations on the island, just go to sea island instead. Bad Experience #1: The seating We booked the brunch for thanksgiving, a time when you're supposed to be with family, catch up on your life for the past few months, and enjoy each others company. The King & Prince made it impossible to do this my separating our family across two tables that forced us to sit with our back turned to other family members at an upstairs location when we were with a handicapped individual. We booked this reservation MONTHS in advance and gave the restaurant ample time to prepare. I'll admit, we had a large group but there were much larger parties (20+ people) all seated together at the same table. The extra slap in the face was the fact that the table next to us was one of these extremely large groups all seated together. I was also shocked at the fact that they saw my elderly grandmother who can barely walk and directed us upstairs, where she would have to go up and down to get to the buffet area. The cherry on top of the whole seating debacle was the fact that we saw multiple large tables DOWNSTAIRS that would have accommodated our group without a problem. Bad Experience #2: The service Our group politely asked the staff if there was anyway to be seated together, since we wanted to enjoy our family time on thanksgiving. The woman who escorted us to our table basically scoffed and said "this is what we have available for you." There was no sense of service in her response. A simple "I'll see if we can find somewhere else" would've been nice even if there was no more room available. She continued her rudeness in rolling her eyes as she left our table. Bad Experience #3: The food After dealing with the frustration of our seating arrangements, we settled into our separated tables to indulge in the gluttony of a thanksgiving feast as any good American should. My eyes lit up as I saw the fresh seafood section of the buffet- finally, something to redeem this headache of a dining experience! WRONG. Fresh is the last word I'd use to describe the seafood on that buffet. Oysters that looked like they'd been to war and back and brown crab meat that was foul both in taste and smell. I turned to the salad bar in hopes of a crisp bite to start my meal. WRONG. Brown salad leaves and a sad excuse for Cesar dressing. The only good thing on the whole buffet was the dark meat Turkey. I have to give it to them, that was pretty tender and tasty. Bad Experience #4: The professionalism I knew there was going to be a problem with the wait staff when the waitress blatantly interrupted my conversation to take a drink order that then took 10-15 minutes to come out. The two waitresses who served our table were constantly gabbing and paid little attention to our needs. At one point they were refilling the water for my aunt who had gone to the buffet and they say the dripping pitcher of water IN HER SEAT. When my boyfriend asked for a refill on coke, they came out with a two liter bottle that you'd get from Walmart. At one point, one of the waitresses realized that she had lost her phone and saw that she left it ON OUR TABLE during the meal. Why did she even have her phone out while tending to our table? That's just plain unsanitary and unprofessional. I always had fond memories of the King & Prince growing up in St. Simon's, but this place has really gone down. They act like they're still a luxury destination but they are far from it. If you're looking for an upscale experience on the island stay away from the King & Prince and just choke up the extra cash for Sea Island instead.

Yelp
Beautiful hotel lobby and beach...and that's about it. Do not stay in the Oglethorpe house. It's overpriced and lower quality than a motel down the street. Bathroom beyond outdated. Air conditioner, barely works and certainly doesn't get it down to where you are shooting for on a South Georgia island. Bed is lumpy and old. Hard wood floors are dirty. Had I known it was like this I would have opted to stay 10 minutes inland at Brunswick with modern hotels and amenities. Never again. I'd give it more stars if the price was about 1/4 of what they actually charge, but you are not getting luxury here. You're paying for a historical site and a private beach and little more.

Allen P.

Yelp
I feel it is very overpriced for the quality of the hotel. They do not provide robes, the coffee maker is in the bathroom. The rooms seem outdated with wallpaper. Not a place I would personally stay at again for the cost vs amenities.

Yelp
Worst customer service. Autodump callers to voicemail while system warns voicemail might not be returned in timely manner. Lies about call volume. Lies about a manager not being reachable. Told customer to hush. No COVID cancellation policy. Worst customer service I've ever experienced for something supposedly higher end. Do not give them your business.

Ansley M.

Yelp
The girl at the front desk wanted to catch an attitude because we asked for the toilet paper and we rented a condo. We understand that they didn't service the condo rooms, but they didn't have to be rude about it. One of them tried to help, but the other one wanted to have an attitude. You need to seriously get y'all's stuff under control.. one of the girls was blonde and had glasses. The other one had brown curly hair. No one wants to stay here when you have people like that running your building. Seriously people want good customer service, and not those people who think they are top shit. This isn't the first bad review on your bad customer service. Get it under control. No excuses

Truly one of my favorite places of all time. The rooms are nice and spacious. The view from ECHO for dinner is amazing. Beach access and a pool.

Yelp
My mother and I had a great time celebrating her birthday for a weekend getaway at The King and Prince. The location is wonderful and the resort has everything you need for a fun vacation. Although the hotel is undergoing some renovations, the staff was great and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! We stayed in the historic building, which was conveniently in the main building with the bar and restaurant. Our room was clean and spacious, and housekeeping was pleasant. However, we spent most our time by the pool and at the bar! The pool area is gorgeous, and there are chairs that face the beachfront as well. It's the perfect place to relax! We ordered a frozen margarita at the bar, which was delicious. The hotel offers free WiFi, a complimentary coffee bar in the morning, a great gym, wonderful pool areas, beach access, and spa. Everything you need is right at the resort, but the resort is also a short drive to great local bars and restaurants. The restaurant and bar, Echo, is also located on the property. The staff here was excellent and they had live music both nights of our stay. Altogether, I would highly recommend staying at The King and Prince for a getaway in St Simons! I seriously contemplated quitting my job and retiring here, but I'm a few years short of retirement age. I guess I'll just have to book another stay here ASAP!

Yelp
So disappointing! We stayed in the Villas which are privately owned condos. Pros: Great location with phenomenal views of the beach. Large size two bedroom and two bath Full kitchen Cons: The exterior of the building appears neglected and needs repairs The interior of the condo did not appear to have ever been updated and was original to its 1980s build. The condo was dirty with mildew around shower door and on the refrigerator door seal. Dirt and dust on floors The condo had several water stains on ceilings and walls The air intake was filthy and the filter did not appear to have been changed in a very long time. Everyone in the room suffered severe allergy issues while sleeping in the unit. Stains on towels provided by housekeeping Exterior trashcan near the pool entrance was never emptied while we were there. Trash overflowed the can and was stacked on the ground around it. Trash in the shrubs around the parking lot. I do not recommend this hotel and will never stay there again. It is overpriced for the accommodations you will receive. Maybe the actual hotel is better but the condos were a huge disappointment.

Yelp
I visited the King and Prince Beach & Golf Resort with two girlfriends for a long weekend getaway. Overall we had a great time! We had planned to spend some time at the beach, however, upon visiting the pool we decided to stay put. There was an entire row of pool lounge chairs which faced directly out towards the beach, so we were still able to get our beach fix without having to be covered in sand. What we most enjoyed was the cabana at the pool, which offered an assortment of food and drinks. The servers were INCREDIBLY friendly and continuously checked in on us to ensure we were taken care of. The pimento cheese hummus dip is to die for! It is served with bread and crackers and makes for a perfect poolside snack. The one thing which took us by surprise is that gratuity was added to the check from the poolside cabana. We only noticed this at the end of the visit. Overall we had a wonderful time here and will definitely be returning!

Yelp
The beach is beautiful! The service is quiet exceptional! The guest rooms are in absolute need of SIGNIFICANT upgrade and repair. The condition of the air vent return in our room was horrifying, to the point we cleaned it ourselves and notified management. They did offer for us to change rooms but that was the only thing wrong. "OLD WORLD CHARM" does not mean old and unkept. iLove St. Simon's Island

Yelp
Vastly overrated. Our room in the historic building literally had no view. The walls were scratched and scuffed, and HVAC returns are in poor condition. Food in the restaurant was mediocre at best. Staff varied from enthusiastic (the concierge was excellent) to ambivalent (the desk clerk could not care less.) Very disappointing don't waste your money.

Yelp
The hotel is pretty nice, right on the beach and tucked into the trees. The food leaves a lot to be desired. They really need to learn how to cook beef and turn down the oven with most food being dried out.

Yelp
Located perfectly with access to the beach for anyone who stays in this hotel. The rooms either have a patio or a balcony in every room I've seen so far. Big, spacious, and has a whole bunch of amenities including free WiFi and complimentary breakfast. Saint Simons island is also located in the more suburban Brunswick area, with a liquor store conveniently located up the block about a 2 minute walk and a full bar and restaurant in the hotels main lobby building. Honestly I am happy I'm staying here, and wish to come back time and time again.

Yelp
Beware with your personal belongings. Second stay here. First was a week-long stay mostly unproblematic other than accounting not confirming the return receipt of a $500 deposit.and they left us sitting un the lobby for 45 minutes waiting on our a room. Super uncool given the exhausted toddler basically had to sleep on their lobby couch. It was a very bumpy check in and the front desk manager was rude, and lacking in understanding. Didn't have to work with them for the rest of the week so it was quickly forgotten bc we had fun at the condo and beach. The 2nd stay, far from good. Accidentally left jewelry on bathroom counter. No more than 30 minutes out of our room when we realize it. Spoke with front desk who called housekeeping for us.They said they saw nothing. Escalated to housekeeping manager, VM, bounced back to front desk. Front Desk Manager is located. She starts off with service 101 no-no, argumentative with a highly irate and concerned client, hangs up on me after I tell her we will return to talk in person, and indicating she will not accuse her staff of stealing. As if you had to say that. The fact according to the hotel is jewelry is gone as per the housekeeper's input. The last time I had it was this morning and only housekeeping had access to the room. Turned around from our roadtrip to tackle the situation in person. Once my husband went back in person they were more responsive. Still no jewelry. As of now they are "checking the trash." Security was the most cooperative. Management kudos for that hire. I hope I will be updating this review with good news to showcase a service turnaround. Given the current backlash the service industry and tourism is about to get due to COVID, you can only deliver perfect service to begin to entice patrons back. So disappointed.

Yelp
Great place for special occasions, a little pricey for every day. Beautiful view of the ocean.

Yelp
That King and Prince Beach and golf resort on St. Simon Island, GA was an excellent choice to spend our 33rd wedding anniversary. The king and prince staff make this a remarkable experience for my wife and I the room had a perfect beach front view the complimentary champagne and strawberries put a nice touch on the room and made us feel welcome. Even though we were still in the state of Georgia we really felt as though we were somewhere on another island someplace else. The staff from the beginning at the registration desk to the restaurant to the bar happy reception were so friendly and polite. The King and Prince Beach and golf resort offer hotel style rooms cottages and resort style rooms the decor and atmosphere is unbelievable. I would definitely recommend the King and Prince Beach front golf resort hotel to family and friends to spend that special occasion or simply a excellent place for a special get away.

Yelp
We visited The King and Prince Beach and Golf Resort for an annual training conference, and as always, it did not disappoint. While there are other hotels available for lodging on the island, possibly at a cheaper price, it's a comfortable feeling to know what you're getting every time, which is a great clean room and exceptional service. The pool was clean, and the attendants were friendly. Lucas, one of the guys taking care of guests by the pool, addressed the guests by name and ensured that we all had fresh drinks. The housekeeping staff cleaned our room daily and made certain our room was adequately stocked with towels and toiletries. Likewise, they also left chocolates on our pillow at night during turndown hour. The grounds surrounding the resort and the beach were clean and inviting. The lobby and patio areas have adequate sitting space to relax with friends or colleagues while sipping on a beverage from the bar. When we arrived for our 5 day stay, there was an odor emanating from the shower curtain. After calling housekeeping, the staff promptly arrived to install a fresh shower curtain. Similarly, our hair dryer was not quite up to par, but the staff replaced the dryer with a better one immediately. Although these things could possibly be viewed as a minor inconvenience, they certainly weren't worth decreasing my rating for the hotel because the issues were minor and rectified immediately by the staff. In addition to the annual conference, The King and Prince is always our "go-to" hotel for quick beach trips because St. Simon's is only 3 hours away from our house. Staying at this resort provides a certain comfort knowing that the rooms will be clean, the view is spectacular, the service will be great, and the staff are superbly accommodating. While I'm not trying to depreciate the splendor of this resort, my trips to The King and Prince remind me of dining at Chick-Fil-A. It's comfortable; they're going to get your order out quickly, it's gonna be hot and fresh, they will shower you with condiments, and send you away with a "My pleasure." I feel the same when I leave The King and Prince. It was definitely a pleasure.

Yelp
i really wanna like K+P but this is our second visit with non- resort quality room. First trip was during covid so I gave some leeway. We were compensated for these issues but very unacceptable conditions for the value and a resort property.

Yelp
The view from the single sunlight starved window was of a six foot fence to mask the alternate view of several Carrier air conditioning units was just pathetic. Add to this light lacking view of American industrial prowess I enjoyed the pleasure of a squeaky ceiling fan all night. Checked in on Monday May 5 for an annual conference. I was please to note the remodeled lobby minus the pool and the scent of chlorine. It isn't the design I would have chosen given the classic style of the main building and the fact that its on the National Register but i understand the need to be fresh and hip to attract a younger client. I was there for an annual business conference and realize the conference rate doesn't warrant an ocean view two bedroom suite but lets\'s face it. The main reason you choose this property is the proximity to the water. Second to an ocean or partial ocean view would be a less desirable courtyard view or lesser still a parking lot but to assign a paying guest my room (247) is an abomination. It should be reserved for desperate shelter seeking travelers or employees that find it easier to stay than commute. The next morning I shared my previous nights punishment with the front desk. The woman I spoke with was empathetic and offered to move me but had no continuous rooms available for the remainder of my stay and would have to move me twice. Having had much nicer past experiences I chose to stay put and take advantage of the reason I was there. A business lunch on the patio was quite satisfying as was the catered dinner for our function. The staff was friendly although additional guest services training is warranted. I'm not seeking a more genteel southern style but a little polish with a dose of professionalism focusing on a genuine guest appreciation wouldn't hurt. A property with a rich history and well-crafted brand such as The King and Prince has painstakingly developed should never subject a guest to a room of this quality. Furthermore I would encourage the General Manager and front desk staff to stay a night in each room to obtain a personal feel for what each accommodation offers and ask themselves would they like to stay in such a room.

Yelp
We were traveling with another couple and this place was perfect for our needs. We had an ocean view with two bedrooms, each with a full bath. This place is quite dated, and the furniture also dated, but good enough. The view is stellar! Lots of people playing with their dogs on the beach. The Echo lounge and restaurant is quite good. Not cheap by any means, but the food portions are generous and tasty. They do a big conference business and the lounge was packed every night! The golf course is about a half hour drive. It is a beautiful golf course with plenty of challenge. There's a good driving range and chipping and putting greens. The staff is very nice. On the course, it's best not to be spraying the ball around too much or it will get you. The greens are nice, and the sand in the bunkers is excellent. There's an abundance of wildlife around the course. Several of the holes go out into a marsh. The day we played was cold and windy, and those holes got nasty.

Yelp
We just left, after an amazing, and beautiful wedding weekend to celebrate my best friend. From the moment we walked through the door, we felt like family. Chad at the front desk is our hero! He worked his magic and found us a last minute villa and became our friend over the weekend, always with a smile on his face, and with eagerness to make our experience perfect. Thanks, Chad! You made our weekend! You ROCK!

Yelp
We were here for a business event about a week ago and I cannot say enough positive things about this resort! They are so incredibly accommodating and helpful, willingly moving equipment around and helping to keep things running smoothly. I was fortunate to not be one of the main coordinators for the event so even as an involved spectator I was blown away. We had the pleasure of dining here on multiple occasions for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Each meal was amazing and had something unique to offer. I'm now officially obsessed with Brunswick stew so thank you for that too!
