THE KING OF PASTA®

The King of Pasta (while a name you wouldn’t expect to be 5 stars) was 5 stars!!! The gnocchi was pillowy and fresh and perfect. The pesto was luscious and bright and delicious. Both my dining partner and I were in heaven eating pasta here.

Loved the Italian ravioli and Gnocchi with pesto sauce! It was located across from the Central market, recommended by an Italian lady in the market, as well as an English mom and daughters leaving the restaurant. Wonderful friendly, helpful servers! The atmosphere was simple, clean and relaxing in the upstairs dining. If you are in a different part of town, I highly recommend you make the trip to their location!

This restaurant may look unassuming at first, as it is located right inside the market hall of Livorno – but what a gem! We were warmly welcomed and received excellent service throughout our visit. The pasta dishes are freshly made, and we were lucky to get a seat with the perfect view into the kitchen to watch the preparation. The food was absolutely delicious, and the lively atmosphere of the market hall makes the experience truly unique. Highly recommended! 🇮🇹🍝✨

The best pasta we have had in Italy! It is the freshest pasta, made to perfection! If you want to experience how real traditional Italian pasta should taste this is a MUST visit place. Better than any “gourmet” restaurant we have tried. We had a very emotional moment as the taste was exactly how our Italian grandmother/great grandmother used to cook it. The sauces were cooked to perfection and complimented the pasta even more. You can taste the passion in what he does and we LOVE he is keeping the tradition and memory of his grandmother through generations. Congratulations! You truly are the king of pasta! Thank you for this special moment, we will never forget it and hope to visit you again one day!

Valerio is the best!!! If you want to experience what real fresh pasta tastes like, you have to try this place... Took my family there for lunch, we all absolutely loved it!!! So we went to Livorno and I have been in here a few times but i never went to mercato centrale and inside you will find this family owned restaurant of humble origins but serve one of the best pastas ive ever had. King of pasta not only serve food recognized by the citizens of Livorno but also the tourists as well and they even served some famous personalities like pope francis, queen Elisabeth, prince albert of monaco and barack obama. We only waited a few minutes to enjoy one of the best pasta carbonara we didnt spend that much either. The chefs are super nice and you can see them working on your as well through a glass window.

Great staff, tasty homemade pasta and sauces at really affordable prices. The indoor market is also well worth visiting. 5 stars! 🤩

We had a lovely time here: after walking around in the warm streets of Livorno, we were seeking a cool place to sit and have lunch at. Forgetting about the fact that a lot of restaurants will close around 14/15, we arrived at around 14 closing time for pasta king but were still welcomed by the chef who made us lovely ragu biancho with taiglatelle (probably i spelled incorrectly 😅). Thank you again!
