If “soft life” had an address, it would be Kings Post Hotel Furnished Apartments — and honestly, I may or may not have Googled “How to move in permanently” after my stay. From the moment I walked in, I felt like I had stepped straight into a Lamu hideaway — warm wooden ceilings, carved Swahili-style furniture, stained-glass windows catching the afternoon light, and lanterns that look like they’ve been imported directly from a coastal spice market. It’s not just a furnished apartment… it’s an aesthetic. The living room felt like the perfect mix of cozy and exotic. The daybeds? So comfortable I almost forgot I was there for a staycation and not a months-long sabbatical. The balcony doors opened to that lovely breezy, coastal feel, and I swear I half-expected someone to bring me madafu (coconut water) while I lounged. Everything inside was thoughtfully set up — a fully equipped kitchen for the chefs, a perfectly made bed for the nap champions, and Wi-Fi strong enough to stream, work, or pretend you’re working while watching Netflix. The service was excellent — friendly, quick, and with just the right amount of “pole pole” charm that makes you slow down and enjoy life. Whether I needed extra towels, directions, or just a smile in the morning, they had it covered. The location is peaceful, the décor is romantic, and the whole space just screams vacation mode. Perfect for a solo escape, a couples’ retreat, or a girls’ weekend where you pretend you’re in Zanzibar without leaving Nairobi. Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Recommendation: If you love coastal charm, soft lighting, and a place that makes you forget real life exists — book it. Just be warned… you might not want to leave. 📍 Kings Post Hotel Furnished Apartments – where Nairobi takes a holiday in Lamu.

This place is well worth the money. I’d come back here even if I had a higher budget. I only have two issues. One, there’s no a/c. Not a problem during cool weather, but I can’t imagine this place when it’s hot outside. Two, you can hear everything outside and in upstairs/downstairs rooms easily. Otherwise, this place was perfect.

The King Post along Rhapta Road is like a hidden castle in Nairobi! From accommodation and conferencing to good vibes at The Tavern Bar & Grill and Café Chumba, it’s a one-stop spot. The design has that Swahili coastal charm, making you feel like you’ve traveled without leaving the city. Add in King’s Gym & Spa for fitness, Jabeen’s Salon for a fresh look, and great dining options for dine-in or takeaway — truly a gem. Whether it’s business, leisure, or just unwinding, this place has it all.

Dated rooms could use fixing up and better towels but clean and huge. The barber/hair saloon worth it even if your not staying or don't need a haircut -get a shampoo or head massage - amazing

Lovely staff- couldn't have been more helpful! The manager and front desk helped us book train tickets on our first day which was really great as it saved us oodles of time.|Central location. Great design.|Hot water and wide verandah.|A little on the noisy side as it's on a road.

Quiet hotel location on Rhapta Road. Been there for dinners, team meetings and recently for a book club meeting. It is a perfect location for anyone who is not interested in the larger neighbourhoods such as Lavington,Westlands,Kileleswa and Kilimani.Pretty close to the Expressway so you avoid the nasty normal road travel for international travellers.

It is a horrible hotel for a stay in Nairobi; the shower doesn't work well, and the swimming pool was in Mantent, and never during our stay cleaning the room. The price is ok, but I think you can get better options for the seam price, in particular, a cleaner option

One of the bests stays in my life! Fascinating architecture, with Indian and Zanzibar style (even the horns on the doors agains elephants!;), kindly staff, a roof terrace for gatherings and a pool and very very good fitness. We shot a film in Nairobi and stayed there with the crew and actors for a month. It’s also much better than the regular hotels where one can have only a room and a breakfast- here you have an apartment with a kitchen you can cook and welcome guests if you like (and dining out in Nairobi is very expensive!!) you also have a garden with places to gather with people or just chill in the tranquility of a beautiful garden and artistic architecture. So much more unique than a hotel and the same price! They have also a similar hotel with apartments for less money which is around the block. Check it out too! It’s called Grand Gables. We stayed there 4 times :)
