Sadly a rather over priced and disappointing experience. |The staff were welcoming and were trying to do a good job.|The room was disappointing. Clearly it had had some gloss paint done; The fumes were very strong and it gave me a headache. The bed was hard and uncomforatble, and the 4 poster seemed wobbly and when you sat on it it banged on the wall. Could have done with more pillows or cushions as it was uncomfortable leaning against the wall and bed frame. The bathroom shower was very much in need of replacing, the tiles were cracked and the shower old and dirty looking. Splashes of paint were on the floor. |The food seemed very overpriced for what you got. My husband had lamb which was vert tough and overly rare. I ordered trout but what I got was salmon. It was tasty...just odd. Breakfast was OK. |Would not recommend.

Had lunch here the other day, which was very poor. I ordered a simple salad with ham and crusty bread. The salad arrived without the ham or bread, so then had to be brought out separately,.. not quite the same. The bread had been ripped into small chunks rather than left as a piece of bread, which looked unappetising. The table next to us were complaining that their burgers had been served cold. Would not recommend I'm afraid !!

Stumbled upon this pub when some friends and I were exploring the Cotswolds. Had a fantastic meal in a wonderful pun. The staff were very hospitable and even put up with our Australian senses of humour. Would highly recommend!

We stayed for two nights in the cottage that sleeps six. We had a great stay with everything we needed. Although the cottage could do with a deep clean in the living areas, the bedrooms were clean, and the beds were extremely comfortable. I would definitely stay there again. The food was amazing and nothing was too much trouble. Having two coeliacs in our group who were more than happy with the selection of food, lots of gluten-free meals it made for very relaxing meals, and because of this, we ate all our meals here.

Arrived out of the blue and were made to feel very welcome. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the roast beef was absolutely delicious! Highly recommended. The lovely garden is also dog-friendly, which was a bonus.

Absolutely Kam, here’s the updated version with your additions included: ⸻ We had an absolutely fantastic stay at the Kings Arms. We stayed in the 2-bedroom cottage and it was excellent from start to finish. The cottage was spacious, well laid out, and perfect for a family. The downstairs living area and kitchen were ideal for relaxing, and upstairs had two comfortable bedrooms and a basic bathroom. The water pressure in the shower was excellent, which is always a bonus. The whole place is dog friendly, which made our stay even more enjoyable. Every member of staff was warm, welcoming, and genuinely helpful throughout. A special mention must go to Scott who managed our booking. He was an absolute gentleman and went above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable. The food was amazing, with a great menu and something for everyone. The drinks selection was just as impressive. The icing on the cake was Scott arranging fresh croissants to be made especially for our son for breakfast. They were divine and such a thoughtful gesture. If we had to mention one small area for improvement, it would be that the cottage could benefit from a slight refurb to modernise it a little as it look tired. That said, it certainly didn’t take away from the comfort or the experience. I would highly recommend the Kings Arms to anyone looking for a relaxed, family and dog friendly getaway. We’ll definitely be returning.

Great pub and accommodation. Comfortable and quiet rooms. Water pressure in bath poor but I understand that is bring fixed. Entrance to pub a bit obscure being only from the back of the car park, not the front of the building!

Booked a one night stay. Don't be misleading but they "recently refurbished advert" the bedroom was far from any refurbishment. Stayed in "the Haystack and was probably the right term! Bathroom dirty see photos. Side bed light not working and holes in the ceiling 😒 don't bother looking out of the window as they were too dirty. They need another cleaner Staff mixed bag, mid aged male was extremely polite and attentive. Two young girls behind the bar were more interested in chatting to each other than working for the premises. This place needs to up their game and take some advice from their male employee. Perhaps Butcombe were leaving a sinking ship?

Yelp
Staying here for a 60 mike bike ride. This place is excellent, there are lots of lovely little touches dotted around the place. The rooms are great, though the paint on the walls is a little too dark for my liking everything else is perfick ! Food and ales are top notch and all the staff are lovely. I'll be back next year if not before

Yelp
Lovely English pub in the heart of the Cotswolds. If you are seeking cask ale and updated English fare in an excellent example of an old school pub you should stop here! We were lucky to happen across it on our road trip through the area. Enjoy!

Yelp
Great pub food, absolutely delicious fish and chips, tried my friend's. Crisp batter, tender mild and flaky fish, I had the mushroom macaroni and buttered greens. Nice wine list with a good house selection, and imports.
