A jewel in the Cotswolds and now our absolute favourite. This whole place is a glorious haven of tranquillity in what can be a frantically touristic area and the inn itself is real, genuine, quintessentially English and seemingly determined (thankfully) to shun the Disney-like commercialism of too much of this wonderful region.
Tucked away in a quietly picturesque village the Kings Head is pure olde worlde charm but the bedrooms are modern and clean with an extremely comfortable bed and a super-powerful shower.
The staff were all friendly, professional and efficient to the highest modern-day standards. The food was excellent (we had dinner) and the multiple seating areas, including a number of outside tables in several different garden areas, made it feel intimate and special irrespective of how full the place was.
Finally, as well as a beautiful village and church to wander around there is good open-country distance walking from the doorstep. In summary we simply cannot wait to find a good reason to get back here again and stay for longer.
