Nicely decorated room, good size and very clean. Shampoo and conditioner provided - nice bathroom. The parking lot is a good size and there is no charge to park. This is genuinely a dog friendly place to stay. My dogs and I were allowed in part of the dining room (which is much nicer than other hotels’ offer of sitting in the lobby to eat at a tiny table or on the outskirts of the dining area), dog treats were on the pub counter and a giant bowl of water for dogs available as well. It was so easy to eat in the Inn’s restaurant with the dogs and the food was good. My glass of wine was just a touch on the too expensive side but the nice atmosphere and ease of being there made up for it. Staff were very friendly and, interestingly, so were the other guests! I telephoned to make my booking rather than on-line and the Inn’s representative suggesting a fantastic value dinner, bed and breakfast offer. Breakfast was also nice - and, again, easy with the dogs. If I were going to improve the rooms, I’d ditch the instant coffee and install a Nespresso machine! The Inn is located on the edge of the city, so very easy access into town, with an interesting park immediately behind for dog walking. This is nice place to stay - and even nicer if you are travelling with your dog.

Wonderful hotel. We had a 2 night stay, and the rooms are clean and comfy. The only negative was it would have been nice to have a small bottle of water with the tea and coffee in our room. (But not major, we just bought 1, As i like water for when i wake during the night). Breakfast is great, such a lot to choose from. Our evening meal was delicious too and all very well priced

What a wonderful find! This restaurant is dog friendly and wheelchair friendly with a vast menu including smaller light bites which I really appreciated. Service was quick and staff were very attentive and friendly. I enjoyed the traditional fish and chips from the light bites menu which was divine. The chips were cooked to perfection! We finished our meal with the Sticky Toffee pudding which was also a win. Will definitely recommend to others. The restaurant has a disabled parking bay, accessible bathroom and entrance.

Easy to book on line. Arrived ahead of check-in, lovely welcome and I was able to leave my car. Convenient location, close to Durham railway station and an easy walk to the centre. Checked in about 7, no fuss and professional. Great room, comfortable bed and good sleep. Breakfast served until 9.30; plenty of choice and I must say it was the best full English Breakfast I have had for a very long time. Checkout was easy. The members of staff covering front of house, serving breakfast and checking out was a delight. ||||My only regret was my itinerary did not allow me to sample lunch or dinner - I will next time.||||Never been to this hotel or used this chain before. I was very impressed by everything and will certainly use again in the future

Went as a group of 10 for the Christmas fayre. Ample portions with a good selection of veg, Yorkshire pudding was a bit on the well done side everything else really tasty. Sadly nobody was able to eat the Christmas pudding, seemed like it had been reheated in microwave and was too hard. After talking to the manager we were all offered alternative puddings of our choice so everyone was happy.

Three of us and our dog had a lovely Sunday lunch here, today. The lady and gentleman who served us were warm, helpful, polite and professional. The vegetarian Sunday lunch was delicious, as was the beef option. Dessert was an extremely tasty plum, pear and cinnamon crumble and custard. Meals were good value. Inside was beautifully decorated with a country pub feel. Would definitely recommend.

Professional, friendly and welcoming staff as always. Lovely warm rooms, spotlessly clean. We stayed in Room One, which could just do with a little shelf in the ensuite to put cosmetics on, as no windowsill to use in there. Other than that, everything was perfect. Thanks.

Went to a retirement lunch and was pleasantly surprised. I didn't even know it was there. It is part of the Inn Collection group, so food is pretty standard, but it was very nice. There were only a few other people in, but it had a welcoming feel. The only minor negative is that the car park wasn't that big, and I would imagine on an evening once residents had arrived at the hotel park parking may be at a premium. Now that I know where it is, I would quite happily pop back in for a drink and food.
