There was an area outside at the front of the hotel. There were 5 bench tables with joined seats. Not very good for people who had limited mobility. There were 3 in my party with limited mobility. Together with the 5 tables above there were also 4 or 5 similar bench tables but only one Umbrella. We were there the week of the heatwave so shade for some was a must. A suggestion would be that proper tables and chairs replace the benches and an umbrella for each table. Location was lovely and peaceful with a beautiful wood at the back of the hotel where you could walk. The manager of the hotel was very helpful and pleasant but two of the serving staff could do with a refresher in customer service. Beds were really comfy and the room was big (We had room number 7 which was a family room) and spotless. Could do with a like of paint to lighten it though. Pet friendly with lots of water bowls about and a tap inside the bar for filling them indoors - a nice touch. Food was excellent although a little slow on the first night. Despite the above I have given it excellent.

Very clean environment and room - with basic amenities, but no less than expected for an Inn. Having visited for a meal last year I opted to stay over, and again was not disappointed.||Food was as good as I remembered, again going for the Lamb (this time on the specials). Brilliant.||The sole reason for the 4 star rather than 5 is the seemingly strange uniform policy for the cleaner, who I noticed (whilst packing my car) hoovering the dining area topless? Incredibly odd, especially because the rest of the staff were very presentable at all times - I would like to think that this uniform isn't policy for Chefs as well. Possibly a personal decision by the cleaner, but to work with the lights, and I assume doors unlocked for all to see is very unprofessional behaviour.

Great location for the station, free parking, and a short walk into the city centre. Incredibly friendly staff, decent beer at the bar, and a DELICIOUS breakfast. Room was a little small but had everything I needed – comfortable bed, decent shower, usable desk, TV etc. Bonus points for the environmentally friendly opportunity to get a free drink in exchange for not having my towels changed every day. Win win!

I can not give less than 10/10 for a visit to Durham it’s perfect from being able to park a super bonus and the closeness to all that Durham as to offer we are both in our late 60s and found it easy on our first visit to Durham. Room is large and clean everything you need large bath towels we had a wonderful view of the garden. Food is very good the breakfast plentiful we also had Sunday lunch went for the standard more than enough and was beautifully cooked. Staff very professional and knowledgeable and helpful guiding us to the best way to the centre of Durham will definitely recommend this hotel and will hopefully be back and a big thank you 🙏 to everyone

Wonderful welcome, beautiful setting, friendly staff, cozy room. Our dinner was very tasty and our full English pure joy. Indeed, all your palate could wish for!|Our room and bathroom were immaculately clean and, although a tad small, we enjoyed our one-night stay immensely and wished we had stayed longer...

We were really looking forward to this hotel because of its setting and location. It's near to the railway station and to central Durham. | The room was large and spacious with plenty of room to store our luggage. The bed was very comfortable and it had a good shower. We enjoyed a cider at the bar!|Breakfast was included and we also had an evening meal at the dining room plus bar at the hotel.

First time we’ve stayed at this lovely hotel. Great location, easy walking distance of the town centre. Room was clean and tidy. Food was excellent, very tasty and well cooked. Matt the Head Chef did a great job! Service from Ganesh (FOH Supervisor) and Esme and Pasha (FOH Staff) was professional and helpful. Esme was very interactive, and provided us with her Inn collection knowledge by recommending other Inn collection locations to visit in the future. Overall we had a fantastically relaxing and enjoyable stay, thanks to the staff at the Durham location. We will be back.
