The Kirkcudbright Bay Hotel

Booked for an evening meal at Archie's Place within the pub. Food good. For the price, the smoked salmon salad would be greatly elevated by a chunky slice or two of brown bread and butter. Partner enjoyed his battered fish, though the "hand cut chips" were obviously machine cut at McCains. A couple of personal niggles, but overall would recommend. Nice friendly staff and locals. Good beer!!!

Sleep quality was zero! I was allocated room 1 which is above the entrance door to the pub and the main public bar. As you can imagine, I was getting no sleep until the pub closed which was 23:30. Please note that after the booking was made I called the establishment and requested a quiet room on the top floor. I spoke to who I assume was the owner, he was very helpful, explained the hotel was full and my room couldn't be moved but assured me it is a very nice room and I wouldn't be disturbed...... Needless to say I would not return here and therefore I do not recommend staying here. Furthermore, this review is 100% accurate and it is intended to help others.

The staff were wonderful and friendly( not sure if it is family run as the owner lives abroad). The food was well done pub grub. The wine was good and well priced.A huge disappointment was the lack of a cooked breakfast. £15 per person for cornflakes and cold meat….|The room was clean but a bit run down( £100 a night-not great value for money)|Smokers seem to hang about the entrance pretty much constantly…|We would stay again but not in the same room….

Went for lunch as my brothers birthday, food was lovely, well presented and tasty, staff very friendly. A bit of a mix up on the order (my accent I think!) but it was sorted out efficiently. A nice outdoor area but as it was a wet day we sat in the conservatory area, bright with lovely artwork on the walls. We parked almost right outside.

Went for dinner when we were having a short break in Kirkcudbright. My friend’s burger was ok, but my main was very nice, miso-marinated cod. We both like my main dish. The staff were friendly. Good to have a quick drink or dinner.

Came here with my husband for Sunday lunch. I had smoked salmon + prawn to start then roast beef. My husband had haggis + black pudding tower then fish + chips. Everything on our plates were delicious, freshly made + well presented. The Yorkshire pudding was just the best!! Lovely restaurant + very attentive friendly staff. Well done team!

Went for a lunchtime meal. The food was exceptional. My son said they were the best chips and macaroni cheese ever! I enjoyed a chicken burger with a delicious relish. Lovely staff and service too. Will definitely be back again x

Dinner this evening was delicious, all very fresh and well cooked and presented, very good portions and piping hot. Service was professional and attentive and very friendly. Great atmosphere and very friendly locals who made us feel very welcome.

The food was great and come in substantial portions. Highly recommended for a night out in the town of Kirkcudbright.
