The Kitano Hotel (Tokyo, Tokyo) 1 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"The Kitano Hotel is the recent reinvigoration of the long-honored Kitano Arms apartments, centrally located in Chiyoda City, the district containing the Imperial Palace. The Kitano is geared especially toward international guests, seeking to care for visitors who could be overwhelmed by the intensity of urban life in Tokyo with an attitude of wa, a sense of calm or harmony. Owing perhaps to its previous life and times, the Kitano’s rooms have a touch of the mid-century modern, though thoroughly refreshed with ample lighting and natural wood accents. Guests can enjoy pan-Asian health and beauty treatments at the hotel’s medi-spa; dining options include Sant Pau for Catalan fare and Ohmi for sushi. Japanese tea service is available for an afternoon respite, as is a rooftop terrace lounge for after-hours cocktails." - Tablet Hotels

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5 This hotel went above and beyond to make sure my husband and I had a wonderful stay. We asked if they had a spare plug or charger, and they had one ready for us at check-in! The staff were so polite, kind, and helpful in every way. The hotel is equipped with all the amenities you could need, and as a beauty lover, I especially appreciated the little luxuries like the foot mask and other thoughtful touches. Breakfast was lovely and beautifully presented. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay at this hotel again — seven nights just wasn’t enough!

Fabulous hotel and service. Well located hotel close to many central attractions. Subway 2 min walk. Service was impeccable from arrival to departure. Such a kind and helpful team. The room was wonderful. Everything you needed including a free minibar. Bed is very firm our only observation. Breakfast was amazing. Food was lovingly prepared and tasty. Service was so gentle. Must try if you stay here. A real quality hotel and service - highly recommended.

Absolutely loved staying here, a wonderful hotel, superb rooms and facilities and staff who excel at customer service. Polite friendly, genuinely interested and helpful from front of house, restaurant staff and the door people. |Brilliantly placed, a short walk to nice restaurants or the Asakusa area for a livelier scene. The Metro is just down the road but it is also walkable to the Imperial Palace and Meiji temple if you feel energetic! |The room we had was lovely, as mentioned before in other reviews, it does look out over a dual carriageway but you don’t hear the traffic at all. There is always water etc in the room and is well stocked for shower gel, shampoo etc. Tea and coffee are also well catered for. My one tiny issue was the firmness of the bed, which was very firm and a bit hard on creaking bones that had walked miles each day but otherwise it was a warm and cosy bed.|They can also arrange luggage forwarding if you are travelling around and ensure your bag are sent.|Thank you to the team at the Kitano Hotel, what a pleasure it was to stay with you and I really hope if we are back in Tokyo we will stay with you again.

I’ve stayed here more than once. The first time it was convenient for my plans nearby the first time. After that it was just because I liked the hotel (and it’s close to a couple of subway stations).||The hotel basics are impeccable. Quiet and tranquil everywhere. Lovely bath and shower. Good toiletries and amenities, including bath salts. Free soft drinks and beer that aren’t for me these days, but a nice touch.||Food and drink were good. You have to inform them of breakfast plans in advance. The rooftop bar is nice. I wish it was open a little later though.||The small fitness studio in the basement can be used by guests during limited hours. Gyms are uncommon or tiny in Japanese hotels, so this was nice bonus. It’s not huge but is sufficient for both cardio and strength.

Excellent service and quality at a perfect location for government ministries, the Diet, and historic Tokyo. I’ve enjoyed multiple stays at this hotel, with comfortable, well-appointed rooms and top level service. Nearby neighborhoods also offer fun bars and restaurants, while the imperial palace and other key parts of Tokyo are a good walk or short taxi/subway trip away.

Stayed here for 4 nights for a mix of work and sightseeing. It is a lovely hotel with wonderful staff. Very quiet area but there are plenty of cafes and restaurants a street or two away. It’s right beside a metro stop, and has a 7-11 on the corner, so couldn’t be more convenient. I was here on my own and like the rest of Japan it was very safe, even at night. Hotel was incredibly clean and in-room amenities were excellent. I loved my stay here.

The Kitano Hotel is decent, but it’s far from what you’d expect. First of all, we once asked for breakfast to be served in our room, and they simply refused, saying it wasn’t possible. That’s not what you’d expect from a supposedly luxury hotel. Second, the staff are extremely rigid with their rules. During booking they say breakfast is available until 10:00, but that’s absolutely not true. They actually stop serving at 9:30. One morning my partner and I arrived at 9:40 and they didn’t even let us in for a coffee. Since when does a 5-star hotel stop serving breakfast at 9:30? It’s ridiculous — you basically have to wake up at 8 a.m. every day while on vacation just to make it in time. Third, the breakfast itself is very poor. There’s no variety at all — you have to order from a fixed menu with only two options, and it’s exactly the same every single day. Imagine being on your honeymoon and eating the exact same breakfast every morning with no option to change or add anything, all while paying a 5-star price. And the portions were tiny! For example, I The fruit are literally half a grape and a couple of small fruit pieces — you could eat the whole plate with one spoonful. On top of that, we mentioned that we were on our honeymoon and asked if we could change to a room with one bed instead of two, but they said it wasn’t possible. The staff are kind, but the hotel’s policies and overall service really need improvement. The Kitano might be fine for a quick business trip, but it’s nowhere near a luxury experience. Honestly, it feels more like economy class.

We enjoyed impeccable service and delicious food and drink. The tea lounge was a serene spot for an afternoon snack. The rooftop bar offered a panoramic view of the skyline at sunset. Full course breakfast — western or Japanese — is not to be missed.
