Every time we’ve had dinner there the food has been fresh, nicely presented and very delicious. We have all been very satisfied with our dishes, from side dishes to appetizers to main dishes and desserts. Service has also been quite good with staff that are efficient, attentive, non intrusive and responsive. The place is not very big and not too loud so it’s easy to chat, and there is a nice outdoor area. Truly one of the very best restaurants in San Rafael.

Google
I'm calling michelin star in their future. The starter truffle ravioli is so decadent and rich you can't have more than one. Me and my friend shared one and then stopped all the yumminess with their wonderful bread. I have the shrimp tagliatelle and she had the pasta carbonara. We wanted seconds to take home because couldn't see not having some the next day. We live 2 hours away and happened to be working at a wedding nearby and google searched a place to eat. But we wanted a nice dinner. This is a small place so make sure to have a reservation. The service was better than some fine dining restaurants I've been in from the greeting at the door, to using a crumber to make sure our dining experience was top notch. No rushed service. People around us were long time patrons who were bringing their friends. Other dishes looked amazing. I'll be back

Google
Excellent dining experience. All the food was superbly cooked and presented, with sensible potion sizes. Wait staff were top notch. Thoroughly recommended.

We had a wonderful dinner at TKT. It’s fantastic! Cause of Covid, we chose outdoor seating. It was chilled but they had the heaters and you don’t feel cold. The food was very delicious, we had the salad and appetizer(fritta misto) and each of us had the homemade pasta and wine. I should highlight the service. They were super super nice and friendly, I mean, every single one. Such a nice journey. Definitely will come back again

Google
Wonderful dinner with friends. I had the shrimp Louie and my friend had the fish. Then French Press decaf coffee & beignets with cinnamon cayenne sugar & vanilla sauce. This wrapped up a wonderful meal with good company. Service was exquisite!🤩💯DINNER | Tues-Sat 5pm-9:00🍃Indoor tables and heated outdoor tables can be reserved for dinner!

I am only upset that it's not open Sunday and Monday, because I have been craving this polenta+mushroom goodness ever since I had it on Friday! We had a group dinner rezzo (be prepared to wait a bit and sip on some good wine) and I tried the gnocchi, tagliatelle, salads, asparagus appetizer - everything was SO GOOD. My taste buds were surprisingly shocked. Don't sleep on this place, it's fantastic.

Google
It's been a long time since I've been down 4th street in San Rafael, and I'll tell you...It's places like The Kitchen Table Restaurant that bind a community together. If not for these strongholds of society, San Rafael would quickly become just another dumping ground for the mentally unstable...It might be to late already. The chicken dinner was just as Spectacular as the service...5 stars. ☆☆☆☆☆

Google
Great service. Food was delicious. Swordfish was maybe the best I have ever tasted. My Friend Chicken was delicious but a little over cooked. The Buttermilk Panna Cotta was maybe the best I have ever had.

Yelp
Lots of mixed reviews so I will take a moment to give our experience.... Was excited to try this place since Amex gave us credits for Resy restaurants- unlike the other places we went this week - the people that work here are friendly! Yay! They greet you, let you pick your own table, seem to play as a team of workers instead of just on their own. Food was unique and not the same as most places. Enjoyed the pork appetizer, pasta, duck, and ice cream for dessert. Will definitely make a reservation and return! Thank you Amex for introducing us to a new place!

Yelp
Solidly average experience. It was decent but I wasnt impressed enough to come back. For the food: we ordered 1) fried zucchini $7 2) peach and corn salad $16 3) fettuccine carbonara $28 4) pappardelle ragu $28. We enjoyed the grilled peaches in the salad which had a good balance of flavors. The fettuccine sauce seemed runny but my boyfriend enjoyed it. The pappardelle was pretty disappointing - the sauce was lacking flavor and the noodles were overcooked and stuck to each other in a big clump. For the atmosphere: the other main reason its not worth coming back. The space is very small which could be nice as the restaurant fills easily. However, the only table options were next to a kids birthday celebration. It was extremely loud beyond typical conversations since it was a couple parents and a group of kids. There are no acoustic panels to help dampen the sound. I recommend the restaurant look into acoustic ceiling panels, theres many decorative options. Totally could be a grump, but I wasnt expecting that ambiance when I came to dinner. Lastly the service: it was really good, wait staff was attentive filling water, replacing tableware throughout the different courses. They were very welcoming. A 3.5% wait staff fee is added to the bill for them.

Yelp
Great server. I was struck by the smell of fish upon entering. Fresh fish doesn't smell fishy. The oyster appetizer didn't taste fresh & mild. Maybe oysters shouldn't be on the menu late June. I ate it & the sauce was yummy, but oysters were not good. The risotto was good & my husbands pork chop was enjoyed. The desert was ok, but too spiced with cloves & cinnamon. It was a special occasion dinner & we were given a tiny candle on a plate, not even on a dessert... kind of tacky. You have to pay for bread @ butter. I wouldn't go back, but the food was nicely displayed & pretty good tasting, except for oysters & Beignets

Yelp
Solid pasta place. We got a ragu, gnocchi, and some fritto misto and it was all quite good. I liked the variety of fried things in the fritto misto that pumps it up past just calamari. Props to them for having blankets for outdoor diners too!

Fred S.

Yelp
We enjoyed the fettuccine Carbonara and duck breast as entrees after a winter salad. Nate is an excellent server. The first time we dined he understood and suggested decanting the Sagrantino de Montefalco, a very big red wine. Their wine list is brilliantly curated and is well priced. It's fun to look in the side street window and watch the kitchen create the food. There is a well respected Italian restaurant nearby that operates out of a much smaller kitchen. There is quite a difference in frenetic intensity.

LeaAnne P.

Yelp
Consistently delicious food. I savor every bite. Tonight was misto frito for my appetizer. A yummy and unique mixture of fried veggies, olives, calamari and shrimp with a yummy dipping sauce. Then their homemade pasta. SO perfect. Lots of choices--you can eat lighter than I did this evening, but you'll want to try everything! The restaurant is pretty all year but right now it is extra pretty with holiday lights and botanicals. And the nicest people work there! Professional, knowledgeable and kind.

Yelp
I have been hearing about this location for a while now. I figured since it was my friend's birthday and we all work in Marin that this would be a nice time to try Kitchen table. It was recommended to make a reservation and I did at the earliest they had and that was at 6pm. We arrived early, even before they opened so we waited and asked if we could be seated earlier than our reservation. The hostess said yes and we sat. I did see some of my favorites and asked "what was the current favorites or best on the menu". We went with some favorites and then some new choices. All great choices. service was attentive, and honest. When we asked about the uovo and if it was big enough to share with in 3 people, our waitress said yes, but we would want another. she was correct. The location has no onsite parking lot but there is a lot of street parking. Inside it's cute and modern without the cold feeling that modern sometimes brings. Food was delicious, and I can't wait to come back. food: Portside bread and butter raviolo uovo sausage pizza rigatoni tagliatelle french fries drinks prosecco ruby lemonade

Yelp
We'd been hearing amazing things about Kitchen Table from friends and family, and finally got the chance to try it for my boyfriend's birthday. We couldn't have asked for a better experience! I brought him and his mom, and we had the best time celebrating. We ordered family style, and the portions were just right for sharing. We started with the raviolo uovo (incredible!), then enjoyed the margherita pizza, pork chop, and the special of the day--halibut. Every dish was delicious and perfectly prepared. The service was just as memorable as the food. Every member of the staff was so friendly and attentive, which really made the evening feel special. The Kitchen Table absolutely lived up to the hype, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a wonderful meal and experience!

Yelp
The service was sot on and the food was fantastic! We had pizza, mahi mahi and chicken sambuca. The mahi mahi dish was the best I have ever had. I will be spreading the word and will be back soon. The location was quite cozy too.

Yelp
We were walking by on a quiet Tuesday night and the restaurant looked very inviting with string lights in the windows and lots of guests inside, so we decided to try to dine without a reservation. The staff were very accommodating and we got a nice corner table without much of a wait, but I was disappointed with the food. We got a side of Parmesan broccoli to share and it was small (about 6-8 florets) and one-note, mainly salty. My friend got the petrale sole and I had the chicken saltimbocca, and while the portions were large my dish was lackluster in flavor and appearance. It was a few pieces of chicken tossed on a plate with mushrooms and prosciutto, and sadly a bit bland considering the ingredients. I liked the ambiance but was unimpressed by the food, so unlikely to return.

Monica L.

Yelp
love this restaurant, food is excellent and so is the wine list.Great ambience too. Will definitely come back.

Yelp
The food was very very good. The inside is so cute. Our waiter was fine nothing over the top. I will say it was very pricey so if I were to come back it would be to try the pizza. The price point was just a little to high for me even though the food was very good

Yelp
Fire!! This place is so good. Great wine selection. Bread from local friends Portside Bakery. Fresh handmade pasta. Great service and friendly neighbors. First time here for a meal and exceeded expectations. Ordered Portside Sourdough bread, signature Raviolo, Bay Scallop Aglio E Olio, Black Pepper Tagliatelle with Morel Mushrooms. Everything was good, 100% will come back

Yelp
Feb 2023 3.5 I'd say. We were out for a date night, and the space worked well. We were seated outside which was nice noise wise, service and water was spotty since we were away from the main area. Especially after the food dropped, but they helped with any questions we had at the beginning. Still, a heater was nearby so compatriot was warm so that was a plus during the time. We had ordered a raviolo uovo and bread and butter to share. I had gotten the mushroom ravioli. The uovo worked, I thought it could use just a touch of salt but was a little heavy otherwise. The mushroom ravioli was nice and rich, and not too much on the stuffing. It struck a nice balance in that respect. I did run out of sauce tho so the last bites were a bit lacking on that end but it is what it is. Still a nice night out tho for us. The food hit a number of good notes so we'll try to explore the menu more next time.

Susan H.

Yelp
I don't usually complain, but the 5 of us felt this was a bit of a disappointment. We all shared the ravioli uovo for a taste and agreed it was delish. The pasta dishes were another story. Altho, fresh and nicely cooked, we all felt they added way too much garlic w/ their sauce. It really overpowered the delicacy of the clams, mussels and minimal amount of scallops incorporated on ea. plate. The prosciutto pizza, didn't seem to have fresh mozzarella, as the cheese dissolved into the very good crust, leaving it very dry. Sage was unnecessary. Dessert not great either. The piecrust on the $15.00 serving of cherry pie was heavy and not light or flaky. We agreed the panna cotta and the ravioli were the best plates of all. Ambiance was OK and as crowded as it was, not too noisy plus, our server was pleasant and helpful. Won't be returning.

Yelp
I don't want to write this review, but I have to. I don't want to write this because I don't want all of you to know how perfect this hidden gem is. I dont want to write this review because TKT will get deservingly busy, and I will selfishly have a hard time getting a reservation. I know I have to write this review because this team is firing on all cylinders...food,wine,service. I know I have to write this review because TKT is unbelievably delicious and they deserve 5 star Praise- Bravo!. So there it is. All of you should go there and see for yourself.

Yelp
One of the best restaurants in Marin County! We just recommend for any occasion, fantastic food!

Yelp
Pork chop was great! Everything else was ok but overpriced. $31 for a tasty but small plate of scallop ravoli with very little scallop in it? Staff was very nice, but busy. Place was packed on a Friday night. Depending on where you live, it's a bit of a trek, outer 4th street near San Anselmo.

Yelp
While some aspects were satisfactory, I wanted to share some areas for improvement. We started with the french fries and beet salad, which were okay but not particularly memorable. For our main courses, we ordered the mushroom & crispy polenta, crab chowder, and the fresh catch of the day (sea bass). Unfortunately, we had to return the sea bass immediately due to an off-putting smell. Additionally, the crab chowder didn't taste fresh, and while the mushroom dish had a pleasant texture, the flavor was lacking. Our server was pleasant, but didn't seem particularly concerned when we returned the sea bass. Overall, I believe TKT could benefit from a refresh to enhance the dining experience.

Yelp
We had a lovely dinner here, first visit. Overall, this was a 3.5 star experience. The service was 5 stars - friendly, efficient staff who help each other, well run. Started with the large raviolo app. It was delicious with the sage sauce and perfectly cooked egg in the middle. Both of those ingredients required bread to sop up the amazing sauce and egg, but this restaurant doesn't give you bread - they charge $5 for a quarter of a small loaf of bread, making this app $19 - too expensive for the portion. Next we had the gnocchi which was nothing special. The gnocchi were not the pillows we had hoped, ate more like store bought or old. and the pepper sauce was ok, but not great. The mushroom pizza was fantastic - delicious crust, packed with mushrooms, topped with arugula. Would order that again.we finished our meal with the mini beignets that came with a vanilla dipping sauce - quite yummy. We'll be back to try different dishes. We heard fantastic things about this place and figure we just didn't order the right dishes.

Yelp
This is the restaurant I've been looking for since I moved to Marin. Located in West San Rafael, this restaurant has a nice variety of indoor and outdoor seating. We were able to get a spot at the counter as a walk in, which we love- both to see the inner workings of the kitchen, watch the food go out, and we got to give our compliments to the chef! Was really impressed to see a wine list with several bottles in the $40-60 range. Didn't make me feel "cheap" to not want to spend $100 on a bottle of wine, and the Italian red that we got was fantastic. Everything that came out of the kitchen looked amazing. We ordered two appetizers that I highly recommend: the ravioli uno and mushroom with polenta. Our server suggested getting some bread to mop up the extra sauce- we were so glad to have it because every bite was incredible. For my entree, I had the cacio Pepe pasta. Homemade and delicious. Can't wait to come back and try some more delicious bites at our new favorite spot!

Yelp
Unexpectedly great. This was our first time here, and it left us wondering why we'd waited so long. Everything from the fried zucchini to the deconstructed bruschetta w/ bagna cauda to the ravioli in a cream sauce that was nevertheless light to the crust on the pizza was excellent. We also thought their wines-by-the-glass list was very well-constructed and diverse, with a nice selection of Italian wines across a variety of grapes. The service was also really good, even though our waitress changed after our order was taken. Anytime we looked like we might need something, a staff member was at our table almost immediately. We'll definitely return.

Yelp
The food is good and all that but a special shout out to the dapper gent working there who ran outside after us during the first rain of the season. Not because we forgot our wallets gadgets or top secret briefcase, no, but because we forgot our little card game on the table. Date night is hard to pull off with a toddler and a baby, so we don't get out much. That's why the dramatic run in the rain is the stuff of romcoms. 5/5

Yelp
EXCELLENT QUALITY; VERY HIGH PRICES AND SIDES ARE EXTRA TKT has excellent quality dishes. My friend and I split a steak, and it was better than any steak I've had in recent or distant memory. It should be at $55, and we had to pay an addl $10 for a side of broccoli. So our entree was $65. Tad high, no? We had the beignets for dessert, and they, too, were excellent. Total for a split entree and side, two glasses of wine, one beer, and one dessert + tip: $150. Yow. Recommend Ensalata's, described below. SERVICE: excellent and very pleasant. Check out Ensalata's, just up the road in San Anselmo, which has much more reasonable prices -- $36 for a steak, no extra for add-ons, and lots of other yummy offerings.

Yelp
I have reviewed restaurants for national publications for over 30 years. I wrote one of the first reviews of The French Laundry for American Express in 1994. I feel I am part of the restaurant community and always try to be objective and fair. I know what an increasingly difficult business this is. This evening, a friend suggested we have dinner at The Kitchen Table, a restaurant I didn't know. A reservation was made for 6.45. We arrived precisely on time but the hostess failed to find our reservation. The only seats available were at a small table in the street with no overhead heat lamps and a continual stream of foot traffic passing close to us, some of those people less desirable than others. No one else was seated at these tables. The food was OK, certainly not Michelin star worthy but adequate and the service was certainly good. However after the sun had gone down it became cold, very cold, so much so that my food was cold on the plate before I was even halfway through the meal. I've been in this business for long enough to know that mistakes happen. However, a good restauranteur will put out a fire immediately by offering to comp the drinks or make another significant gesture. Not here. When the check came it was for the full amount of almost $140 for 2 entrees and 3 glasses of wine. I asked for the owner who expressed surprise that I was unhappy and didn't acknowledge that the low temperature outside was a problem. He reluctantly, after strongly expressing my dissatisfaction, reduced the bill by 20%. It was too little, too late. His attitude suggested that I was the problem and no, I didn't say, "Do you know who I am?" This was one of the most unpleasant restaurant experiences I have had in Marin in a very long time. It was not because of the food or the service. It was not even about the reservation fiasco. It was definitely not pleasant shivering in the cold trying to have a relaxing evening but the complete ineptitude of the owner to be able to rescue a situation that they had created was beyond belief.

S Todd A.

Yelp
Big disappointment. Friends had hyped this place quite a a bit. Food was average to the extreme. Butter tasted like the inside of a refrigerator (an odd thing to notice, I realize, but that's my wife), canalloni special was basically fine. Carbonara was not great. Pancetta was seriously overcooked and the whole thing tasted just average. Kind of a hack job really. I'm afraid this was a one-and-done for us.

Yelp
Our first time but not the last!! The Kitchen Table was delicious and (at least what my adventurous son and I ordered), very unique. Amazing egg ravioli. Carpaccio with capers & pizza dough toast. Yummy panzanella salad (me). Son's pork chop was great. Panna cotta perfection. Great service too. Team effort. Nice to see. We will be back!

Yelp
It was a rainy night, but decided to check this place. I ate outdoors, and both the heaters and the protection from rain made it almost like it wasn't breezy and rainy haha. I came without knowing beforehand what the restaurant was actually known for, so I had their catch of the day (some kind of sea bass) and their apple cobbler (adding pomegranate was a really welcome addition!). It was really good and makes it feel like it wasn't raining that night. I believe they are supposed to specialize in pasta so that is what I will try next time. The only thing i can think if that isn't so positive is that it was basically a mini-sea of oil when i was done with the fish. The spinach was a nice way to accentuate the otherwise fish dish. Note to self and others: make reservations! I came as a party of 1 and surprisingly didn't have trouble getting seated (albeit outdoors), but just in case.

May N.

Yelp
The food and ambience were great. Great service. Cute decor. The only negative is that the smell of the cleaning product was strong throughout the restaurant.

Yelp
This was not the experience that we had hoped for. The food, although generally good, was nothing to write home about, and the service (or lack there of) that we received from Greg was actually pretty terrible. We came here for dinner to celebrate our friend's birthday, and needless to say, this left us wishing that we had just gone to our old and faithful IL Davide right down the street. My friends arrived a little before me because I was running late (story of my life... don't judge the late bird!). When I arrived, they were already seated on the front patio. One thing I can say is that they did a great job of making a spaced out patio on the street. Everything was distanced out perfectly. Our server Greg did greet us when I arrived, but didn't come back for almost 15 minutes to take my drink order and our food orders. It was a Tuesday night and it wasn't super busy. I would have given him the benefit of the doubt, but he basically forgot about our table for most of the evening. I started off with the Creamsicle cocktail which was so watered down and literally tasted like orange juice. Luckily they were able to replace it with a margarita which tasted much better. I wasn't paying attention at the time, but my drink got taken from the table and I wasn't even done drinking it yet. I couldn't believe that he didn't even ask if I was done with it first. I was so annoyed by this. We also brought a bottle of wine which we mentioned when we first arrived, but we didn't receive glasses until our meal arrived. We also had to ask for an ice bucket to chill the wine. We realized that the wine wasn't getting cold, and saw that there was practically no ice in the bucket. Why would you provide an ice bucket... with NO ice?! We asked for more ice to be put into the bucket, and of course this took way too long. We basically had to flag Greg down and ask for everything while we were there. We had to ask to finally order our food, for water refills, to turn on the heat lamp next to our table, for more utensils... for every damn thing. Our server was not attentive at all. He went missing for the rest of the night, and we didn't learn that he had left until after Jacob took over our table. Like wow, Greg couldn't even do a warm transfer to tell us that he was leaving? I found this to be very rude and unprofessional. Nevertheless, we were happy to have Jacob as a replacement as he was much more attentive. The food was pretty good overall with some hits and misses. We ended up ordering the following: *Sausage pizza: I'd say below average. It arrived lukewarm with not enough cheese and lacked heavily in flavor. It was also too oily for my taste. Wouldn't get this again. *Butternut squash agnolotti: This was tasty! This was my dish and luckily my favorite out of everything that I tried. The pasta was moist, creamy, and buttery. The butternut squash flavor was deliciously fragrant. I enjoyed this dish. *Fettucine carbonara: Really creamy, cheesy, and flavorful. Nothing too exquisite but my friend really enjoyed it and she's not even a big fan of cheesy pasta. *Seared duck breast: This was pretty disappointing. The duck was very fatty with lots of gristle. Wasn't as tender as it appeared, and the black rice and pear didn't compliment this dish at all. It just wasn't a good pairing. *Flourless chocolate cake: This was actually recommended by Jacob, but unfortunately it was the worst item of the evening. Couldn't figure out if "flourless" was a typo for "flavorless" on the menu. Seriously. It tasted horrible. We all took a bite out of the cake and looked at each other right after. Like, "What the hell is this?!". Unless you have an aversion to gluten, do NOT get this. Hell, even if you DO have an aversion to gluten... skip it quickly. Again, the dishes were hit or miss. Thankfully, my dish actually ended up being my favorite. But honestly, I wouldn't even come back here for that. The bad service that we received from Greg alone is enough for me to not make a return visit. I'm glad that I finally tried it, but I would choose IL Davide over this place in a heartbeat.

Yelp
I had been looking forward to returning here and finally went back. The service was great but the food was truly unremarkable. We had the grilled Spanish octopus (on the small side) which was served with a sweet tomato sauce with green raisins... I'm a huge octopus fan and I didn't care for the flavor of this raisin version at all. The small end was crispy and very overcooked tasting like a burnt chip. The persimmon salad was simple and good. The carbonara was ok. The homemade pasta was nice but the sauce wasn't creamy. We did like the nice chunks of pork belly. Overall, not as excited to return. if I do, I will order differently.

Yelp
3 1/2 stars for the Kitchen Table. The service and ambiance is definitely 5 star. I can't remember when I've met nicer staff, from front of house, waiters, and chefs. So kind and friendly! We started off with the famous ravioli uovo. ($13) The waiter recommended getting the bread and butter ($4) to sop up the runny egg yolk, and we were so glad we took him up on his suggestion. This is a delicious starter, and you'll want to eat every bite. For dinner we got the rigatoni with meat ragu ($22) and fried chicken with mashed potatoes. ($27) Both were only ok, not enough seasoning, and quite a bit bland. I love fried chicken, but this one really missed the mark. For dessert we got the beignets with creme anglaise. ($10) Omg, this dessert was amazing! Piping hot out of the fryer, spectacular. There was a charge for staff on the bill ($3+) for I don't know what. I would definitely come back for the starters and dessert, and may try the pizza next time.

Yelp
My mother had been talking about this place, so I decided to take my parents and my girlfriend for a birthday dinner on a Friday night. We made the reservation a week in advance online, which was super easy, but I could tell that it gets busy on the weekends so keep that in mind. They have both indoor and outdoor dining, but we decided on indoor since the outdoor is just makeshift on the street. The staff was incredibly friendly and I was surprised by how many people were working at one time. We ordered a lot for four people, but everything was yummy and unfortunately had no leftovers. For appetizers, we had the calamari and raviolo. The raviolo looked like the specialty and while very good, probably doesn't justify its price. The calamari was super crispy and came with a variety of seafood and vegetables. For the entrees, we ordered 2 carbonaras , pesto penne, and seafood. Everyone was pleased with the fresh handmade pasta and how flavorful everything was. The lemon tart was an incredible dessert. It balanced fresh fruit with sweet and sour to perfection! The beignets were crispy on the outside, fluffy and the inside. It's not exactly in downtown San Rafael, so parking is not bad at all. The food was delicious and staff was friendly/attentive. Overall, it was a very good experience and my parents loved it stating, "we'll definitely be back!"

Yelp
I have been to this restaurant several times since moving to Marin. Some dishes I have absolutely loved. Specifically their handmade pastas; loved the burrata pasta, ravioli uovo, their carbonera and gnocchi. Their fritto miso is excellent if you like calamari, it's a bit different as it includes fried vegetables, olives and calamari/seafood. One could view this as a cheaper way to make calamari, but truly the flavors are wonderful and it totally works. Their fried mozzarella is totally amazing. A much better alternative to mozzarella sticks. I ordered the catch of the day to go before, it was ok. This is the kind of dish that may be better enjoyed in the restaurant so it has an optimal plated temperature when it hits the table. Pastas are very southern Italian style; rich, creamy, generous on the parmesan. The ravioli entrée is not nearly as good as the handmade pasta dishes but the sauces at TKT are incredible and add to the overall quality of their foods across the board. Beer and wines are offered only. Wine list is thorough and there are a lot of different selections for all types of wine lovers to enjoy. Beer list is slim but adequate with standard local craft beer selections. It's supposed to feel like the neighborhood spot and it does. It's always somewhat busy and loud, and their patio seating is nice with heaters and a nice seating area. Travis and Jacob are always very friendly and offer great service. I enjoy ordering from and supporting TKT. Definitely worth a try if you like handmade pasta.

Yelp
A very small restaurant but they were able to accommodate all that came in the door with little wait time. The wait staff were very familiar with their menu. Even the host pitched in. I was pretty full already and just had an advertiser and glass of wine

Yelp
Disaster with mushroom appetizer that was overheated in the microwave and I burnt my tongue and parts of mouth badly. Still sore day after. Also, at the end, the manager asked how everything was and then asked us to leave because someone else had a reservation. It was poorly handled. We were rushed the entire evening. Restaurant was packed. They probably need to take fewer reservations. Outside of the scalding appetizer, the food was good. The fish dishes were well presented. The saltimbocca, not so much and very little prosciutto. Our server was very good.

Yelp
Very good to awful in a year. Used to have very good food and service. Not any more, sadly. First, had to ask for the bread 3 times......the bread they charge for. Not sure which is worse. Second, the appetizer, octopus, was bland (you could go as far as say it is tasteless) except for the over powering mint. Rather disappointing considering mint. Third, the second entree was served 10 min after the first was served. Really? When the 2nd entree (seafood pasta) it was swimming in watery broth. Obviously, the pasta was not drained in the rush to get it delivered. I sent it back. Fourth, the pasta was supposed to be spaghetti but it was the same size and taste of ramen noodles. Positively revolting. Rather disappointing to see one of the only decent restaurants in San Rafael go down hill. I am not going back lever. Ooff to Petaluma where the restaurants are far superior and, pleasantly, less expensive. Cheers!

Yelp
We had a nice dinner there at one time and tried it again. We arrived at around 5pm and there was literally no one in the restaurant yet. The host asked us if we had a reservation and we said no but just the two of us. Couldn't be seated without a reservation and host had a snooty attitude so that place lost a lot of its charm for us. Drive by a half hour later just for fun to see if they could have " fit us in" and place was still half empty. If I was the owner I wouldn't want the host turning away business..... we do have celebrities around Marin but it isn't LA now is it?

Yelp
We went here tonight and had a fantastic dinner and service. It is a small boutique restaurant with exceptional food. The petrol sole and scallop ravioli were exceptional, and the beignets were a great way to finish the dinner!

Yelp
Overall experience was a 5, but the food overall was about a 3.8. Decided to try TKT after seeing it walking around 4th. Made reservations for 7:15 and came in around 7:05 and they sat us early which was nice! Our server was also amazing, loved his energy! We started off with the raviolo uovo. This was the best thing we got! 5/5 for that. I would've ordered 3 for myself lol! Didn't snag a picture unfortunately. I myself got the fried chicken. Loved how the chicken was fried but unfortunately the chicken itself lacked flavor. The demi-glaze on the other hand was very salty. But that didn't make up for the lack of seasoning on the chicken. Overall not much of a memorable dish. I also got the side of broccoli which was okay, not much to it. Just some parmesan on top and was good. My friend got the gnocchi which he really enjoyed! The gnocchi was very soft. And for dessert we got the lemon tart. Loved it! Theres is some sort of a bias here because I love lemon dessert but I would definitely buy this again if I come back! Really loved the white raspberries as well, those paired well since they have a light flavor. I wouldn't mind coming back to tkt and trying other things on the menu. Clearly there are great dishes here, just need to explore them!

Yelp
Delicious homemade Italian food! You're able to make reservations on their website, but we got there early in the evening and we were seated immediately. Friendly staff. You have to pay for bread, but it's tasty. I had the spaghetti and clams. The sauce was light and the clams were plenty. Definitely someplace I'd come back to.

Yelp
When I arrived at the restaurant and saw how busy it was I was really optimistic. A quick look at the menu was encouraging and the wine list is excellent. Unfortunately the evening turned into quite a disappointment. Somebody's palette was off, my arugula beet salad was so salty that while I was able to pick out the beets and the goat cheese, the dressing on the leaves made them inedible. It was clear that I had not been able to eat the arugula and when I let the waitress know she said she would talk to the kitchen. She came back and said they were remaking the dressing, I had assumed they would not charge me for this given I hadn't eaten it, but no I was charged. My entree was the pork chop, the actual cut of meat was superb but once again the sauce was oversalted as was the chop. My partner had the cannelloni, it was okay but the sauce that came with it was very watery. We ordered the Beignets for dessert and I will give them credit, they were quite delicious. Overall I cannot say I was impressed, the entire experience left a lot to be desired.

Yelp
My sis did some research and came across TKT. After reading the reviews I was looking forward to coming. Our dinner reservation for party of 6 with with a requirement of a credit card to guarantee our reservation was at 5:15pm. No worries as we're all seniors. We eat early anyway. We started with two bites, plus everyone ordered a beverage: 1) the shishito peppers were grilled to perfection. 2) deep fried zucchini - tasty but not enough for six. Because they're a small kitchen, we also ordered our main entrees at the same time as we ordered our bites. Everything was cooked perfectly. A couple folks got the catch of the day, and one ordered the pork chop. Food presentation was great. My hubby ordered the linguine with clams. I ordered the braised short ribs. The pasta is house made. So fresh. Had just enough kick to the dish. The braised short ribs was fork tender. Came with mashed potatoes. Both my friend and ordered the same dish. We each got some Brussels sprouts with our entrees, whereas my sis ordered some on the side and it never arrived. Miscommunication in the kitchen maybe? We were done eating within 1 hour, 15 minutes as we skipped dessert and coffee. The next morning I felt really famished. I mentioned it to hubby a couple days later, and he said he was still hungry immediately finishing his dinner. Food for thought - looking back, did we not order enough to eat? Everything is portioned so so. No bread for the table. No doggy bag potential. Food was excellent; however, our stomachs weren't satisfied.

Yelp
I've been reaching about this place and have been consistently coming for twice a week for a couple of weeks because of the consistency. But I was extremely disappointed on this evening. I always order the crab pasta and was not once disappointed in my boast until this night. It was bland, unmeaty, not an orgasmic feeling at all, and over peppered. I did try new things like peach salad and it was amazing. Perfectly seasoned, crisp, and refreshing. Baked pasta was a little on the salty side but it was definitely way better than my crab pasta tonight. Of course have to have the ravioli appetizer. So far, this was the consistent dish. The flavors are robust and can't go wrong with that running yolk when you cut into it. We were offered peppers (on the house) and that was delicious. It flavorful enough too the taste. I wouldn't mind ordering it on my next visit. Of course pie and ice cream at the end to top of the experience.

Yelp
Love this place. Such a great, intimate atmosphere with amazing food. The open kitchen concept and friendly staff adds to the welcoming experience. We will definitely be frequently dining at this awesome find!

Yelp
While the service was very good, I take exception to the extremely small portions. I understand that cost of food has skyrocketed but shame on you Kitchen Table. The entrees are the size of most restaurants appetizers. I was there on a Thursday night and the place was full so I guess many people are willing to pay 30.00 for a meager portion of pasta. I am not one of those people.
