First time stay here and I really love it! Room was nice. The breakfast was good with the delicious food, eggs station, coffee machine and desserts. The most part I like is they provided the original fresh milk 😍 (most of the others hotel will added water into it 👎🏻) For sure I will repeat to stay here once come to Sabah 🥰

We celebrated our 32nd wedding anniversary with a road trip from Brunei to Kota Kinabalu. For the first two nights, we stayed at Shangri-La Tanjung Aru, and on the final night, we decided to try The Klagan Hotel before heading back to Brunei. We booked the Atrium Room with a double/full bed and breakfast for two.Upon arriving around 3 pm to check in, we were informed that our reserved room was not yet ready, though a room with two single beds was available. Since this was our honeymoon getaway, we insisted on the Atrium Room with a double bed. After heading out for dinner, we returned, only to be told—almost 8 PM—that the room with the double bed was still not ready or available. However, Fahmi at the reception was extremely polite and understanding. He made every effort to ensure that our reserved room was prepared as soon as possible, even though bath towels were unavailable at the time and only provided the following morning! Haha. Despite that, we appreciated Fahmi’s efficient service—thank you, Fahmi! The beds were incredibly comfortable, and the room was so quiet that we slept like babies. The hotel was clean and well-maintained, conveniently located near markets, spa, shopping malls, eateries, cafes, and the waterfront’s Anjung Senja seafood restaurant area. We would definitely stay here again when visiting Kota Kinabalu.

Location good but aircond need to service. Not cold enough. My room 1053. Above my room is the restaurant. As early at 6:30 am can hear chair table arrange by restaurant staff. RoomNot sound proof. Can hear loud music from waterfront until 2 am. Staff very helpful.

Great location, water front is get shopping mall is in front, with all necessary hotel amenities except for mini fridge. Hotel staff are kind and polite. Value for money. Comes with breakfast, though not many food choices. Room without window view to external of property. Rooms are divided and partitioned from a big floor area. Sounds proof is ok. With parking, just need to get parking tickets endorsed/stamped by hotel's front desk. Room can be accessed from car park lifts.

Stayed 4 nights in this hotel for business trip, the room is good and things are functioning. You need to go up by stair to go to the hotel restaurant where the breakfast is served. The hotel installed the electrical handicap seat for the needy to go up to the stair. It is such a thoughtful gesture. The location is right opposite Central Point mall, and downstair has convenience store. It is also very near to Waterfront. The restaurant also has nice view.

I checked in for a business/work trip. Upon arrival, I was asked to pay a deposit of RM100. Fortunately, my partner was with me and informed the staff that the deposit was not necessary, as our company handles all payments cashlessly. My advice is that in the future, the hotel should avoid requesting deposits from customers without first confirming the payment arrangement, especially for corporate bookings. Additionally, the room was not properly cleaned. The sink did not drain properly, and the previous guest’s toothbrush had not been removed. It was also disappointing that the hotel only provides breakfast and does not offer room service for dinner, which was inconvenient during a work trip

The Klagan Hotel is in a super convenient spot right in the heart of Kota Kinabalu. You’ve got shopping malls, local markets, restaurants, and night markets all within walking distance. I stayed here for two nights during a department program. The room was spacious, and the bed was really comfy. But the bathroom door was broken, which was a bit of a letdown. The TV channels and equipment could definitely use an upgrade too. On top of that, the cigarette smell in the room wasn’t great. Breakfast was okay, and I really liked the coffee. Parking is available on Level 3 (if I’m not wrong) and above, and there’s plenty of space. Just a heads-up: it’s better to check in first because you’ll need the hotel card to use the elevator from the parking lot. If you’re driving a bigger vehicle, like a pickup truck, be extra careful. Parking is free for hotel guests - make sure to go to the reception with your parking ticket before exiting. Overall, I had a good stay and would recommend it to friends.

Very friendly front desk and smooth check-in process. I stayed during Ramadan month and they switched the breakfast vouchers to Sahur ones which is a kind move. The room was spacious and comfortable for couples and business travellers.
