The Knight Residence by Mansley

We had an amazing stay at the hotel. There were three of us, and there was plenty of room for all of us. I loved that there were doors and we could section off where we wanted to be if others were sleeping. The in suite, washer and dryer was fantastic. We used the washer and use the rack to dry. There were so many amenities in the room that were incredibly helpful. Full kitchen with all the pots and pans, a fresh pint of milk for our coffee and plenty of coffee and tea for every day. They were also other little snacks that were left for us. There is a small grocery store right around the corner, which was perfect.It was within five minute walking distance to grassmarket & 10 minutes to the castle. It was relatively quiet most nights but I would recommend being away from the Lauriston Street side if you are sensitive to noise. this will be the hotel that we return to when we come back to Scotland. Oh, and there are bus stops within a 2 to 3 minute walk. The staff was so helpful and kind.

Absolutely amazing place to stay . The apartment was very comfortable and clean and furnished to a very high standard . Staff at reception was very friendly and helpful. Instructions received prior to arriving was spot on and therefore very easy to locate and check in . Bonus was free electric car charging. The kitchen was stocked really well for breakfast with cereal/milk / breakfast bars/ croissants etc and the tea/coffee facility was marvellous. We did not expect it so was very pleasantly surprised . Absolutely gem of a place to stay and my only regret is that I had not found the place when my son was studying at the University of Edinburgh. Such a lovely stau. Beds lovely, complementary tea and coffee and milk, and toiletries. Great location for Grass market, Edinburgh Castle and Cathedral ||It exceeded our stay. Great place to stay. Would definitely go back. ||A few minutes walk to everything.

Very spacious apartment with a separate large kitchen and lovely soft beds. Reception staff were lovely. It is located within an easy walk to everything. Felt safe and looked after. Xmas in Edinburgh was beautiful. Really great apartment for families.

Brilliant apartment. Plenty of space for 2 adults and 2 kids. WiFi and Tv in each room. Heating was great and apartment cosy. Kitchen was well equipped and bathrooms had shampoo, shower gel and conditioner. Location was great with Sainsbury’s local 5 minute walk from apartment.

Staff were amazing. Super friendly and very accommodating. The location was perfect. And the facilities were also lovely (breakfast food provided in the room).|Very spacious rooms in the apartment. And the private car park provided good security.

Review: Disappointing Experience Our recent stay at Knights’ residence was highly disappointing and fell far below expectations. We had requested an early check-in well in advance, knowing we’d be arriving after a 20-hour flight with a toddler and senior citizen parents. While I understand that early check-ins cannot always be guaranteed, the lack of any facilities to accommodate waiting guests was shocking. There wasn’t even a lounge or a simple waiting room. Despite informing the front desk staff of our situation—long travel, extreme weather, and the presence of elderly family members and a toddler—the receptionist was indifferent and made no effort to ease our experience. We were made to wait from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. before being allowed into our room. We would have gladly paid extra for early access, but even that wasn’t offered as an option. Once in the apartment, the service quality was equally poor. It was not made clear during booking that this was a “light cleaning” serviced apartment, meaning no vacuuming or proper kitchen cleaning was done for the entire duration of our stay. The beds were hastily and poorly made, and the cleanliness overall was subpar. To make matters worse, the hot water in the common bathroom stopped working, leaving us without hot water for an entire day. While a repairman did fix it the next day, this added to the overall inconvenience. For the price we paid, we expected a much higher standard of service and basic hospitality. Unfortunately, this experience left us frustrated and exhausted instead of relaxed and refreshed. We would not recommend this property, especially for families traveling with young children or elderly members.

Another fantastic stay here. We always choose the two bed/two bath and it is so roomy and comfortable.|The buildings they are in are jut so quiet and peaceful, yet still so very central for everything Edinburgh has to offer|I do find thy are getting pricier though, so I probably won't visit as many times a year as I usually do
